Had Snape been truly bad through and through, he could have saved his own life by telling Voldemort that Draco was the true owner of the elder wand since he had disarmed Dumbledore. However, he had enough goodness in him to spare Draco by keeping what he knew to himself. Also, I think he was ready to join Lily in the afterlife. Snape had been miserable since her death and just like Cadmus Peverell, the brother whose fiancee had died and he couldn't bring her back as the happy young woman she had been, he chose to join her.
How would Snape be sure that he would join Lily in the afterlife? After all, Lily was married to James and loved him. What indication is there that she would even talk to Snape in the afterlife?
@@untitled6391 I believe in the afterlife that there is no jealousy, etc. Also since there is probably no relations happening between anyone, all of these human things are gone and people can be together with multiple people and just be happy
My theory is Gryffindors students before Snape's teaching era are rowdy, cruel, and self-righteous. James Potter and the Marauders weren't outliers but are the norm. After Snape became a teacher, his bullying forged Gryffindors to be righteous, kind, and caring.
I think this is a good theory, though I must modify it by my own experience teaching. Sometimes one year is just particularly off the chain. My first year in, the 9th graders were simply awful. I thought 9th graders must just have brain damage or something at that age. Next year’s freshmen were very chill and even studious. I know how certain personalities can develop a culture, and I agree that the cruelty exhibited by James et al could have been universal for possibly several years. I just doubt it would be an implicit feature of Gryffindors. Things return to status quo relatively quickly minus the movers and shakers of class culture.
I always thought Gryffindors were pretty self-righteous in general. With the exception of a few like Minerva, Ron and Harry. Gryffindors are reckless with their bravery and don't always consider others when they rush into action.
I have this long, thought out, general theory about Severus Snape. I have come to realize, Snape's will to live died after Lily got married with James. Then he wanted to join forces with Dark wizards to maybe, if possible, be able to fullfil his vengeance against James, Remus and Sirius. But then the prophecy came and his slipup. After that his outlook on life changed radically after Lily died. He felt so incredibly guilty, he wanted to mend his existence by doing some good. So ultimately he found himself commited to the cause Dumbledore, The Order and Harry were fighting against. I think he didn't want to live but wanted to make his death meaningful.

I'm inclined to think that Avada Kadavra has a second lessor known use. That of mercy killing. Instead of a painful quick death with a green spell light. You get a cool blue light that gives a quick painless death. Hence the blue color with the same spell words. In this case the death was "necessary" And a circease from the pain that Dumbledore was suffering. - a mercy killing.
I think Snape has used sectum sempra on Remus. But to say that Snape didn't use it on James is in very shaky ground. Yes it was much more vicious on malfoy. But Snape was the one who created the spell and knew what it could do. When he used it it would have been much more controlled than hay who was simply using it from a book for the first time
U should do a theory video on if Lilly and snape had harry if he would of been able to beat Voldemort or if they both would still died cause snake new nonverbal spells if they would of lived still and if James took snape spot at the school do a video on this if the rolls were switched around with snape and harrys dad
Remus knew iit was Severus not because he recognized his work but because in the book Remus states that Severus lost his mask during the battle of the seven Potters, that's how he knew it was him.
@vjones4769 but the point is intent. Harry couldn't makw crucio work because he didn't mean it. Yes Snape used avada kedavra but he didn't mean it, it's why the light wasn't right and why the immobalizing jinx on harry didn't lift until after Dumbledore hit the ground. Snapes spell sent him over the side, the ground killed him
I love your theories I also agree on a lot of your views on Snape (and he is my favorite character) but I also do not agree with a lot of things. I tend to be very sympathetcic towards child Severus and see where adult Snape came from I also thing his "love" for Lily was sort of creepy (and obsessive) my favorite theory is the flight one since I have never heard i anywhere before. I'd be also sort of funny that Snape was able to teach something to Voldemort that he had learned from Lily (makes me laugh)
I think the much simpler and better answer for why he didn’t use avada kedavra on snape is answered by what he tells him right before killing him. “The wand belongs to who killed its last owner.” Spells are known to rebound and fail when you’re using a wand that’s not yours. Voldi who had experienced a killing curse rebounding already, wouldn’t risk that again. When he would 100% know it’s a possibility. We know from the elder wand origin story, that the guy who stabbed the wizard in his sleep became owner, so bald boy using the snake that’s a part of his very soul to kill snape, is a following of the rules he thinks he needs to follow to attain wand ownership, and a circumvention of the risks of using the wand itself to do so. That makes a lot more sense than a sociopath incapable of attachments forming such affection for a servant that he’s incapable of using the killing curse, something snape uses on dumbledoor. Like genuinely, one of your other videos you argue snape’s was blue because he has mixed reasons for killing dumbledoor, and then here you go, “yeah the evilest sociopath ever who wants to kill snape for personal gain, probably couldn’t muster up enough want to, to get it done.” No lmfao. The obviously more plausible reason is he doesn’t want to risk obliterating his body, XD.
I just want to point out that someone (I don't remember who) said that levicorpus was "all the rage" when the Marauders were in school. If snape invented that spell, and it got popular enough for James Potter to use it to bully Snape, that Snape ironically created the very tool of his torment. Furthermore it's sad that his spells were popular but no one knew he made it.
While I too think that Snape was totally fine with James dying to Voldemort that night, my personal thought isn't so much 'he wanted to get rid of James and Harry to have Lily', I think he just wanted to get rid of James because he hated the man's guts. Then, as a Death Eater, probably assumed little Harry's life was pretty much forfeit because Voldemort had decided to kill him, so he didn't really think to ask protection for that one as well. Meanwhile, he considered Lily someone who COULD be saved in this situation, so he pleaded that case. (( I did always think it was funny how at the end he was basically like "finE save them aLL theN 8T" like it physically hurt him to request protection for James xDD )) Also - didn't Dumbledore tell Snape to kill him even BEFORE Snape made the unbreakable vow? I think we see that in the pensive. See that Dumbledore knows what Malfoy's job is, and told Snape to do it instead. I believe that's why Snape made the vow, because it was already planned to begin with? And if they could've fixed his hand, I think they would've. Snape specifically mentioned that if Dumbledore had come to him sooner he still could've done something, but that it's too late now after all.
Circa @32:00 I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that JKR said Dumbledore was a Bee in animagus form, I could well be wrong but it’s always been in my mind, that Dumbledore could turn into a Bee and potentially be able to watch over Harry closer than he realised
With the dada position, there was nothing that said they couldn't teach for just under a year, leaving for a few months, then rehiring the same person 🤔
I wonder when Peter came under He who must not be named. Because why would Snape not tell Dumbledor that Peter was not to be trusted since everyone know that James, Serious, Remus and Peter were close friends. So Snape would surely tell if Peter were loyal to He who must not be named. So were he under treat just after Snape told about it?
I think the sorting hat sorted Severus Snape wrongly. Snape is more suited to Ravenclaw. Snape wasn't ambitious except for defending himself not for power.
I so agree! JK stetaed so herself. Snape was one of the few istakes theSoting hat makes. I also agree on Ravenclaw. My theory is - the sorting hat takes your choice into account and we know Severus mom was a pure blood witch from a sacred 28 family. So let me wager a guess which house she was in... Slytherin, probably We can also assume that all the dark spells Severus seemed to know when he started Hogwrats - where could he have learned them? His mom maybe? as a way to protect himself as a Half Blood with a mother who was disowned for marrying a muggle? So... maybe child Severus was sort of on the sam epostion as Harry and Hermione - the sorting hat was choosing between two houses Ravenclaw and Slytherin and Severus wanted Slytherin to honor his mom? That's actually my headcanon! Harry actively chooses Gyffindor over Slytherin Hermione sort of lets he hat know "wherever I can make friends" and Neville s wish is simple overruled. So maybe Severus was like Harry thinking "Slytherin, Slytherin, Slytherin" and th hat then accepted his wish
I can tell you were very excited when you typed this. Respect. Also that's pretty thoughtful, I like it. It just seems true and almost obvious when you say it. But that proves we put more thought into this than the actual author.
Snape didn’t want anyone to be better then him at potion making. He was a genius at the subject. Hell, as a student he figured out how to improve most of the potions in his textbook. I think he didn’t want anyone else to know what he did. He probably could have made a fortune making new textbooks. Not to mention what kind of growth the subject could have had. I think it was more important to him that he could belittle students.
I feel Voldemort didn’t use the k curse on Snape because he was worried that another powerful spell through the wrong with another owner it would have backfired on him like it eventually did.
I don’t think Dumbledore survived because there’s no way he’s a type of person to be loud the final fight to go on with all the students dying and he wasn’t there to help stop it
Isn't harry in the books described as basically a Mini james with lily's eyes, so much so that even Remus and Sirius say that he looks exactly like james. I mean in the battle at the veil Sirius even calls Harry james by mistake.
prett sure lockhart implies/confesses that he stole the spell and then made the creator forgey/ lockheart only really being good at that 1 spell. untill he used rons old wand and it backfired on him.
Is it not more likely that Dumbledore cursed the position if by any risk that Voldemort did get hold of it. (Maybe if Dumbledore wasnt principal any more..etc)
Sectum semra remains me of sukuna curse technique called dismantle and Cleve two cutting attacks but also completely different one is for pure cutting power the other one and adapted and find a way to cut it
Voldemort was right. Snape was the true master of the Elder wand. He just carried Honey Badger potion with him all the time and popped it after Harry left with the tear. It was Dumbledore's actual plan so that the Elder wand would pass to Snape so that Snape, being the master, would live on and that Snape's love for Lily which is passed on to her offspring, would save Harry from the killing curse. The Elder Wand ( death stick) only transfers allegiance by power- the one who kills the owner. Furthermore, Grendelwald who stole the Elder Wand and kept it but was never the true owner. The true owner is an unknown person that Dumbledore, desperately in order to stop Grendelwald, kills so that the Elder Wand will ally with himself and cause Grendelwald to surrender to Dumbledore. Rita Skeeter's journalism is correct. Snape escapes after the battle of Hogwarts and never shows his face again as he has been fully vulnerable and divulges his secrets to essentially his enemy - Harry.
*Snape’s friends bully students* lily: “snape omg how can you hang out with them? I can’t believe this.” *lily’s boyfriend and friends brutally haze snape much worse* Lily: “isn’t James so dreamy? I can’t believe you called me a slur, goodbye forever you bad man.” Women lol.
What if voldemort learned to fly after lily used it to escape from him. After all her and James had thrice defied him and maybe that's how she/they got away
When Harry Potter defeated Voldemort Parvati pital and the other wizards witnessed Harry defeating Voldemort, Delores Umbridge was sent to askaban after punishing the muggles and wizard kind and she spent the rest of her life there after the second Wizarding Wars: The battle of Hogwarts....

Snape didn't kill Dumbledore the fall killed him. That's why Harry was frozen in place until after Dumbledore had hit the ground and actually died
Are you talking book or movie? Because Snape definitely used the killing curse in the movie.
Snapes spell sent him over the side, the ground killed him
Before langlock: 🤓
After langlock:🗿
I love your theories
I also agree on a lot of your views on Snape (and he is my favorite character)
but I also do not agree with a lot of things.
I tend to be very sympathetcic towards child Severus
and see where adult Snape came from
I also thing his "love" for Lily was sort of creepy (and obsessive)
my favorite theory is the flight one
since I have never heard i anywhere before.
I'd be also sort of funny that Snape was able to teach something to Voldemort that he had learned from Lily
(makes me laugh)
38:02 This one convinced me
I think the much simpler and better answer for why he didn’t use avada kedavra on snape is answered by what he tells him right before killing him.
There's always a know-it-all the one who knows all the answers.
(( I did always think it was funny how at the end he was basically like "finE save them aLL theN 8T" like it physically hurt him to request protection for James xDD ))
Also - didn't Dumbledore tell Snape to kill him even BEFORE Snape made the unbreakable vow?
Dumbledore is an old English 18th century word for a bumblebee. That is where you heard that.
He's still very resourceful, sly and cunning
17:03 and very opportunistic
I so agree!
JK stetaed so herself. Snape was one of the few istakes theSoting hat makes.
I also agree on Ravenclaw.
My theory is -
the sorting hat takes your choice into account
and we know Severus mom was a pure blood witch from a sacred 28 family.
So let me wager a guess which house she was in...
Slytherin, probably
We can also assume that all the dark spells Severus seemed to know when he started Hogwrats - where could he have learned them?
His mom maybe?
as a way to protect himself as a Half Blood with a mother who was disowned for marrying a muggle?
So... maybe child Severus was sort of on the sam epostion as Harry and Hermione -
the sorting hat was choosing between two houses
Ravenclaw and Slytherin and Severus wanted Slytherin to honor his mom?
That's actually my headcanon!
Harry actively chooses Gyffindor over Slytherin
Hermione sort of lets he hat know "wherever I can make friends"
and Neville s wish is simple overruled.
Hagrid!! The first wizard to introduce flying is hagrid in book one. That’s how he got to the rock island. And hagrid says he’s too heavy for brooms
I relate to Snape a lot being the butt end of peoples jokes and bullying
I feel Voldemort didn’t use the k curse on Snape because he was worried that another powerful spell through the wrong with another owner it would have backfired on him like it eventually did.
I don’t think Dumbledore survived because there’s no way he’s a type of person to be loud the final fight to go on with all the students dying and he wasn’t there to help stop it
Yep, If he would have survived he wouldn't just hide
I have a theory about Snape: That HE is Harry's dad. I've always thought that Harry looked more like Snape than James!
Isn't harry in the books described as basically a Mini james with lily's eyes, so much so that even Remus and Sirius say that he looks exactly like james. I mean in the battle at the veil Sirius even calls Harry james by mistake.
21:46 can't the colour change based on intention?
Edit: ahh. Ahh...
prett sure lockhart implies/confesses that he stole the spell and then made the creator forgey/ lockheart only really being good at that 1 spell. untill he used rons old wand and it backfired on him.
You don’t need to witness Lupin as a werewolf to invent sectumsempra. James is a big enough asshole for anyone to invent that curse
Dumbledore alive theory dumb bc he had the curse from the horcrux which would kill him.
Is it not more likely that Dumbledore cursed the position if by any risk that Voldemort did get hold of it. (Maybe if Dumbledore wasnt principal any more..etc)
My favorite theory is that Severus is Harry's father.
My favourite is that Severus always wore a time turner under his robes and survived the attack by Nagini.
Your favourite theory is the one which has zero evidence?
BS
I don’t think Snape was a hero, far from it. But for those who have been bullied mercilessly, it’s hard to find a lot of fault.
😂💀
I don't think Harry ever got all the way through the book, I wonder what other spells lurked in it's depths?
O love you Deveria Snape
Dumbledore being alive is a stupid theory…
*Snape’s friends bully students* lily: “snape omg how can you hang out with them? I can’t believe this.”
*lily’s boyfriend and friends brutally haze snape much worse* Lily: “isn’t James so dreamy? I can’t believe you called me a slur, goodbye forever you bad man.”
Women lol.
Goodest Boi snape.... Still sad after all these years at the lose of a great actor...
People make cutting tools. For cutting.
Why couldn't Bellatrix see the color of the spell??
Because in the books she is not there!
@@darajeeling thanks
@@darajeelingis your name a reference to the place?
Snape was kind of a genius wasnt he?
What if voldemort learned to fly after lily used it to escape from him. After all her and James had thrice defied him and maybe that's how she/they got away
When Harry Potter defeated Voldemort Parvati pital and the other wizards witnessed Harry defeating Voldemort, Delores Umbridge was sent to askaban after punishing the muggles and wizard kind and she spent the rest of her life there after the second Wizarding Wars: The battle of Hogwarts....
Professor quirrel also flies just sayin
👍👍👍
Eyy
Absoluter Schwachsinn. Dumbledore ist tot.
Sadly I think those theories are more thoght throu then there saurce
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH
I haven’t watched it yet, but let me guess; one of the theories is that he’s gay. Just like that disgusting theory fans made up about Dumbledore and grindalwald being a couple.
Thats not a theory about Dumbledore, thats what j.k Rowling came up with. Doesnt make sense for Snape one bit though seeing that he only had eyes for Lily and litterally no one else.
Of course J.k came up with the Dumbledore way after the books and is a clear case of pandering towards the current thing.
