After all the things Snape went through, misunderstood by the only person that he swore to protect until the very end, it could crumble grown men. It still gives me goosebumps when he was called as a "coward" by Harry and the pain he must have felt when he shouted back "Don't call me a coward". Take a bow, professor.
He's one of the most misunderstood characters I've ever heard of, and read. With a neglectful mother, and a father who was a muggle and was a very sour man who didnt like much, and then snape being bullied most his life, experiencing the loss of Lily; he's one of the bravest characters ever in my opinion, truly
He’s the most interesting character to me for his potential both realized and unrealized. He embodies the core themes of the series more than anyone in my eyes and I wish we can have a whole book series on his POV. He’s the character the basically controls the whole narrative based on his actions. He’s more of a contrast to Voldemort than Harry is, his story mimics his more and his motivation due to his circumstances are almost one for one. I believe that’s why Voldemort trusted Snape the most in the end. What separates him however is the most important message to the series love and the opportunity it gives us. The capacity to choose love even when most of your life is filled with darkness is such a powerful message. A man born with nothing & who worked hard to get everything he lacked in a unfair world. But in so doing he accidentally made all the wrong choices that cost him his happiness. Due to many unfortunate circumstances out of his control he got lost in the darkness. However the one good thing that happened to come into his life even when lost to him was all it took for him to claw is way back to the right side even if he would never get to experience all the benefits of being loved and acknowledged. His inner strength to do what’s right even when he’s all but consumed by darkness & grief is such a powerful story. It shows how most people want to and will do what’s right when given the chance. That it can’t just be a simple distinction between good and evil. I wish we could have a full redemption story of him and of his Slytherin house who under his leadership gradually reject Voldemort and his beliefs. He should have been the hero of the story who leads his house and school to victory over Voldemort with everyone uniting against him. His story ties everything together in the story better than Harry. He deserved forgiveness and peace from himself and others. His story is so powerful especially during our ever darkening times.
Love the series. However, apart from the 7 books, what is the source of information? Where did you identify Patricia? She is not mentioned in any of the books.
As an introvert myself, I feel Snape's pain. It's all to easy to dismiss Snape as the arrogant, evil snake as kids, but once you understand why as you get older it starts to tug at the old heartstrings. I too was bullied constantly in my youth and developed great depressions and anxieties. All of that said, if only Snape took a few slightly different steps, his path might've been quite different. Even if he just made peace with James in school, that could've gone a long way to mend things with Lilly. Then who knows what could've happened with her and Snape's future.
The sad thing is about Snape's life, is that he didn't have anyone but Lily, to help him, but that wasn't enough. He needed an adult, to help him, to guide him and show him the right path. None of the adults in his youth did that. I think Lucius is the only one that was the closest thing to a mentor Snape had, hence why he was so drawn to becoming a Death Eater, because Lucius influenced him.

One thing I never hear mentioned is how snape was essentially the embodiment of the four Hogwarts founders! He was ambitious like Slytherin be it to become a death eater as a young man or that he also created spells and was clearly a brilliant potion maker! Had he not taken the oath he did he probably would've been more than a teacher! He was obviously very intelligent as was ravenclaw I didn't see Hermione creating her own spells... Similar to hufflepuff he was very loyal sometimes to a fault and when he wasn't he did know he had made mistakes! And lastly he was clearly brave in the ways we all know which was his Gryffindor trait! Nobody else in the story shows all of the house traits in meaningful and polarizing ways just something I realized long after and gave me a better appreciation of the character!
20:35 but sirius’s prank happened before severus’s worst memory, because she mentioned James rescue him when they were arguing before their friendship fall over. Sometimes I think that was the main reason of why Severus did invent sectumsempra, because he now knows there’s a werewolf in the school with him and their friends tried to use him to k!ll other students.
I definitely have what your looking for. I already have fan fiction of Neville when he is a teacher at hogwarts, marauders season 1, the Weasley twins winning the goblet of fire.
Kind of explains why Eileen named her son Severus aka Sever Us because neither she nor Tobias them loved each other after the baby was born poor Sev, his name also means he's a well loved Roman emperor. Sadness and greatness in one name.
I know it’s not canon to the Wizarding world Master Pendragon, but would you consider studying the audio Series, “The Great Wizarding War???” It delves into events that supposedly happened to Lily, Severus and The Marauders in the first year after their graduation from Hogwarts. It’s a thrilling series even if it is based in fiction.
I love your videos. I would like if thers was a video if Tom Riddle actually had a secret love for a girl in his hogwarts years. I don't believe that he was born unable to love. He did just choose to close his heart for good from a very young age. Because love was a weakness in his eyes. (Since he never experienced it himself)
Severus snapes story is heartbreaking all the way around no matter what, Lily was the love of his life, she I think was very biased and unable to see that Severus had nobody in his life that truly cared for him. She grew up with love and a kind family. Severus did not. Lily was too blindsided with those in her house to see a different point of view. They were friends until fifth year where it all went wrong. Severus snape never deserved his 7 years of hell at Hogwarts, to be beaten bullied, abused cast aside like nothing. Severus was a great hero of the wizarding world, he did all he could to protect Harry and he gave his life so he could learn the truth. The Prince family line died with him! Im a slytherin woman who loves him!
Soooo..is anyone gonna put together that in another Universe, like ACOTAR, Snape is Rysand. Lilly is Fayrah, and James is Tamlin? I think that's fucking cool
Easy. Books? Mom's the witch. It could be hers from her school years or she could've bought them. I doubt she didn't have ANY wizard money left. And Ministry knew. But they're accepted to Hogwarts 11 years old so till then, they did nothing. In the series they can only detect underage magic. Not how advanced it is.
I also think that the decision to place Severus Snape in Slytherin was a moment of deep deliberation for the Sorting Hat, as he possessed qualities that could have aligned him with any of the four houses. However, I believe that placing him in Slytherin was ultimately the most obvious choice. Snape is a fascinating character to analyze through the lens of Hogwarts houses, so here is my contribution to this reflection: Why not Ravenclaw? Snape’s natural inclination for research and his remarkable inventiveness could have made him an excellent candidate for Ravenclaw. However, his pursuit of knowledge and creativity was rarely motivated by a pure love of learning. Instead, it was driven by ambition and practical or emotional needs. Why not Hufflepuff? Few characters demonstrate loyalty as deeply as Snape. His tireless dedication behind the scenes, often without recognition or reward, aligns closely with Hufflepuff values. His loyalty to Lily Evans is incomparable, but we can also observe his fidelity to Dumbledore and even to the Malfoy family. Yet, while Snape is undeniably loyal, his loyalty is highly selective and personal, far removed from the universal and egalitarian spirit that defines Hufflepuff. Why not Gryffindor? Snape’s courage is undeniable, particularly in his role as a double agent, where he risked his life repeatedly to protect Harry and undermine Voldemort. This bravery demonstrates a kind of Gryffindor-like valor. However, Snape’s courage is deeply tied to his personal story-his guilt over Lily’s death and his enduring love for her. Snape lacks the idealistic, chivalrous courage of Gryffindor. His bravery is inwardly motivated, driven by personal reasons rather than by a fundamental moral conviction. Why Slytherin? I believe Severus Snape was sorted into Slytherin because, at the age of 11, he likely harbored a sense of pride in belonging to a community and a need for acceptance-traits that align with Slytherin’s communal pride. However, I think it was his desire for respect and his determination to prove himself that primarily placed him in Slytherin. Snape embodies the Slytherin value of self-determination. Furthermore, he is extraordinarily cunning and possesses a remarkable capacity for adaptability and manipulation-qualities quintessential to Slytherin and essential for Snape’s survival.
I would say they simply developed and expanded upon the countless details and fragments scattered throughout the novels, without ever straying from the canon
I also wondered, especially when it came to Patricia Rakepick, whom I had never heard about before. Firstly, epic story, thank you! They never fail to draw me in. May you can help here as There are a few backstory and filler areas that are crucial. During the books and films Voldemort was a prodigy ....but he did NOTHING prodigious in actual fact Voldemort is a hollow character, he shows no brilliance no genius nothing! What happened during Voldemorts rise, that 20 year gap between school and his rise there's no REAL information. Same with Grindelwald, and the overlap between Grindelwald and Riddle, Riddle MUST have been intrigued by Grindelwald, Grindelwald MUST have heard about a young prodigious dark wizard. Why didn't dumbledore seek Grindelwalds help during Voldemorts reign of terror considering he had remorse for his actions but still was a powerful dark wizard. How is it that Gryffindor is the only house with no Heir or living descendants? There are always villains with challengers to power, people who are powerful or even egotistical yet Voldemort had none. We know Aberforth stopped using magic after the death of Arianna, yet how powerful was he, he was able to banish an army of dementors and fight equaly with his brother and Grindelwald but again nothing of him. These would be great topics to cover and enthralling in the way you tell the stories. Any upvotes appreciated and I'm sure will be duly noted 🙏

Okay fokes. Reality check here. Snape might be an misunderstood character but he was also hated for a reason. He bullied Neville for absolutly no reason. I mean the poor boy had never done Snape ANYTHING and yet her put him down and humiliated the poor boy at every chance he got to the point where the boys biggest fear is him. If that is not enough he never ever prevents a chance to do the same to Harry. Remember the very first potion lecture with Harry. Out of the whole class he expect Harry to have memoriesed the book by heart despite him having a whole class to chose from. The very first meeting he glares hatefull at Harry at the arrival dinner despite the boy not having said a single word in his present. Yes Snape is misunderstood and yes feel sorry for it but it does not excuse the sorry bahviour he provides.
Harry Potter and I forgot the boys name Longbottom they both born born in the end of July that makes sense I mean Harry Potter was the destine Boyer of the child a half blood destined to beat the beat the dark Lord you and his time will be soon
We need a more in depth Voldemort video. He was misunderstood. All he was doing was showing that wizards and muggles should co exist openly. The horecruxes were his way to be able to be a watcher. He allowed others to do the evil, the only evil he did was to be able to split his soul.
@spellbookchronicles yes. That's what made me think about this. I've always been passionate about Slytherin. While shadowed with darkness, one must always remember that without the dark the light can't exist. I fully believe he didn't live in fear and had a grander alternative motive. I don't believe he actually feared death. I believe he wanted to change the coexistence of wizards and muggles in a positive way. But it required darkness to be make it a reality. He let his death eaters go crazy while Voldemort was extremely calculated with his actions.
Except he was a sadist, serial killer and a dark wizard. Even during his years in Hogwarts. I don’t know what you mean by misunderstood. The guy was evil. No matter how tragic his life was, he chose to do the wrong things for selfish reasons. He was doing it for himself. Not society. He wanted to rule the world and carry his ancestor’s vision. He was obsessed with power and that was his downfall. People have this naive idea that everyone is born innocent and sweet that only the environment can cause darkness to manifest. Life shows that’s not how it always goes, and that some people are just “ wired up badly “ from the onset. I think you are just charmed by his pretending 😂
@@MrJoeju420 and for what? To be the greatest wizard and ruler of all time. With evil intent . While he didn’t do a lot of killing, he encouraged the evil actions against mugglekind. Besides , the bigger problem is that fans are sociologically dissect the series when it wasn’t meant to be. Trying to humanize Voldemort defeats his purpose as a literary and philosophical figure. He’s meant to represent chaos and evil. It’s a monomyth , not a character driven narrative. Voldemort is a human character in a humanocentric monomyth. So it’s understandable that people ascribe human characteristics to him. He’s purposely paralleled with Harry Potter and Severus Snape. Many sympathize with him like them. But he chose to reject love and camaraderie for his own desire for power in the end.
After all the things Snape went through, misunderstood by the only person that he swore to protect until the very end, it could crumble grown men.
It still gives me goosebumps when he was called as a "coward" by Harry and the pain he must have felt when he shouted back "Don't call me a coward". Take a bow, professor.

I'd bloody LOVE to join your team. I love your videos and had started a video "podcast" with a friend but they didn't have the time to coordinate a regular filming schedule so it kind of fell apart. Here's a link to our intro video from that channel (I'm the male in the video). I do many different accents and impression too if that's useful.

I wanted it in Portuguese 😫
❤
never liked Snape until the end
Silent hero but still arse of a person!))
Harry Potter and I forgot the boys name Longbottom they both born born in the end of July that makes sense I mean Harry Potter was the destine Boyer of the child a half blood destined to beat the beat the dark Lord you and his time will be soon
Great video🎉 but Bellatrix and Severus never met in school. Bellatrix finished Hogwarts in 1969.
Please do Bellatrix Black/ Lestrange.❤
Correct Bellatrix was born in 1951. Snape was born in 1960. Snape was only 2 years old when Bellatrix started her 1st year at Hogwarts.
This is still the story of the Marauders but from Snape’s point of view 🤔
Yeah he’s such an important part of that story.
Cuando en español 🙏🏼
We need a more in depth Voldemort video. He was misunderstood. All he was doing was showing that wizards and muggles should co exist openly. The horecruxes were his way to be able to be a watcher. He allowed others to do the evil, the only evil he did was to be able to split his soul.
Have you watched our 3-part deep dive into Voldemort's life yet? 🧐
@KapayaSiame no he only murdered for the horecruxes for the most part. He let his death eaters do most of the dirty work.
Tobias was muggle not a muggle born wizard.
That’s what he said
Well I'm a Crossover guy so Pokemon mixed with Harry Potter I might do it so, I'm gonna have to decline.
AI sucks :)
He was a beautiful character misunderstood, brave, loyal, courageous etc… if it wasn’t for him Harry would’ve died
❤❤
