@@randy3252 Hey, sorry to reply after 6 months, but I’ve got a cool theory for you. Anakin could indeed have brought balance to the force without turning to the dark side. He’d be able to accomplish this if Qui Gon had survived his duel against Maul. Had Anakin been trained by Qui Gon, Qui Gon would have been the father he needed, teaching him how to control his emotions. Qui Gon was always a more “progressive” Jedi that was open about expressing one’s feelings. This means that Qui Gon would have been the perfect mentor for Anakin and with Qui Gon helping him mature, Anakin would have resisted Palpatine’s manipulation. I also believe that with Qui Gon’s help, Anakin could have ushered in a new era of Jedi teachings that were more open about expressing one’s feelings and having a balanced outlook on the force. This is how I feel Anakin could have brought balance to the force without turning to the dark side.
It's important to remember Anakin was like a beacon in the force from the first moment the Jedi Council saw him, they were frightened/wary of him.

I would disagree. The Light seems more like a constant, solid line. The dark side in contrast seems like a roller coaster, packed with spikes and drops both above and below the constant baseline the Light moves at. If you can master the dark side to the point where you can trigger a spike at just the right moment in a duel you can score a knock out blow against your opponent. But if you tap into that sugar rush and fail to finish off your opponent before it passes you're basically sunk as your remaining strength nose dives afterwards.
There have been many different factors, but the ones I think that makes the light side more powerful is that your powers don't come at a cost, while the dark side powers do. The light side takes much training and practice to master, while the dark side is like a drug, where you get much power easily, but it comes at a cost, for example look at Sidious, what does´he look like? in comparison to every jedi master. So yes the Dark side can be more powerful, but the reason why I think it's weaker is that all the things that fuels it is wrong and it comes at a big cost. So what would you choose the easy way, but with scars that would not every heal or would you choose the light side and take the hard, but right way?

It's been proven that the Jedi have a higher affinity with the High Ground than the Sith which is why Vader lost on Mustafar and Maul died on Naboo.
Anakin IMO was most powerful Jedi when it came to combat but lacked in the force due to conflict in his emotions

I think it’s actually the opposite, he wain the top 10 in combat but wasn’t the best but he definitely force wise was the most powerful sense he is the chosen one and can do things not even yoda can do proven in the ark with the ones.

Anakin was a compassionate person. He cared for others fearlessly. If only he had learned to harness his darker powers and use them for good. This is what Luke saw in him. Anakin was in fact the Chosen One and did fulfill the prophecy.
I think Darth Vader is more powerful. Because while he lost most of his living tissue and therefore a lot of his connection with the force, his change in mindset and style helped him tremendously and allowed him to live up to his fullest potential (as much potential as he could with such little living tissue). I remember someone saying that if Anakin Skywalker had adopted Darth Vader's mindset, he would've become the most powerful Force User, even more so than Luke, but that couldn't happen because the only reason Vader could adopt that mindset is because of his injuries. He was forced to change.
You know the more I read into this the more I am convinced that Vaders connection to the force was only "hampered" by his mind. Think about, Anakin had some pretty nasty burns and he had lost all of his limbs but organically he was still there. He had some artificial organs too. Darth Maul for example was cut off from the waste down but still managed to largely keep his connection to the Force the same and for the most part even improved over time. Anakin didn't loose nearly as much "tissue" as Maul did since he was literally cut from the waste down. This goes back to my original point, Vader was a miserable man who was plagued with sever depression for his entire life following being put into the suit. He suffered extreme anguish over his actions every day to the point where he admitted several times the thing that he hated most in the universe was himself. Can you imagine what kind of emotional damage that must do to a person? Im convinced that Vader put any "limits" he thought he had directly onto his psyche and simply couldn't overcome those mental barriers. Had he ever been truly ruthless enough to overcome the guilt of what had happened with the Jedi, Padme, Obi Wan etc ... Im sure he would have been surprised to find that he was largely the same. See thats the thing, deep down Anakin's biggest weakness was that he cared too much, to the point of letting it ruin his focus of the moment and getting caught up in his own demons.
Max Acree You make very good points. So in the end, emotions were what was keeping Anakin/Vader from being as powerful as they can be.
Ethan Schmidt yeah that's why sidious had that duel between him and luke in rotj, he was either going to have a new apprentice to manipulate to the dark side who has great potential or a fully fledged out Vader who will have no mental barriers and embrace his full potential to become even more powerful than Palpatine

Ethan Schmidt I don't think the living tissue concept is canon anymore. Not trying to start an argument, I'm just saying. Ever since Disney took over Star Wars I don't recall any of the new canon material saying his injuries hindered his powers, just the old EU. I'm sure they hurt like fire (forgive the pun) but I, not sure they neutered him like they did according to the old EU.

I always thought anakin was the greatest example of wasted potential. he was gifted in the force more so than any other being because he was born of the force itself yet he never learned to weild it properly. all he did was focus on dueling and strength despite his near infinite potential of wielding the force.

Sidious is easily THE most powerful Sith Lord who has ever lived. In fact, he might even be the most powerful force user in general who has ever existed, barring the Legends version of Luke Skywalker.

As Ryusuke said, Palpatine is most likely the most powerful Dark Sider in the entire Legends continuity (if you don't count the Ones - aka Son and Abeloth). Especially his Dark Empire version is really OP.
I'd personally say that the only more powerful Force user is Legacy of the Force/Fate of the Jedi version of Luke Skywalker. I mean he is said to have had nanosecond reflexes (one of the Fate of the Jedi novels, I forgot which one) and in The Unifying Force, he is described as being so fast he no longer seemed to physically exist as an individual being.
Sidious is op in legends, but in reality (aka films) he's weaker. The most powerful sith doesn't die simply by being picked up and tossed over a ledge.

In Revenge of the Sith Anakin was the most powerful force user ever. His downfall was his arrogance and he got cocky. All Anakin had to do was to take on Obi Wan the easy way and Obi Wan would've been defeated.
Anakin had the potential to become the greatest Force-wielder in Galactic history, but he never achieved this potential as a Jedi or Sith. A primary reason for this is due to him having little interest in the non-combative areas of the Force. Another reason is that due to him being a prodigy, Anakin's self-discipline was sorely lacking when compared to Obi-Wan who had sub-standard Force potential, but was able to become one of the greatest Jedi of his era due to having the self-discipline needed to improve. These two reasons paints a clear picture of why Anakin was never able to achieve the power he was "supposedly" destined for. Anakin's lack of self-discipline prevented him from surpassing Yoda and Mace Windu as the greatest Lightsaber duelist in the Jedi Academy, and his lack of interest in the non-combative side of the Force resulted in him having a limited mastery of the Force when compared to most Jedi Masters (Specifically, Masters who were seated on the High Council).
This may sound weird, but what you said about Anakin holding back his rage with will power reminded me of the struggles between the Green and Red Lantern Corps in DC comics. Even in the Injustice 2 game, there's a perfect scene that emphasizes this struggle. Hal Jordan is almost turned into a Red Lantern, but he holds true to his stance as a Green Lantern saying his will is stronger than his rage. In many ways hope which is the power of the Blue Lantern Corps and rage which is the power of the Red Lantern Corps can have a profound influence on the power of will which Green Lanterns use all the time. Will is more about stubbornness and a refusal to admit defeat. Will can be strengthened by hope and rage, but giving into either can have consequences. Hope in many ways can make you complacent and keep you from actively working to find a solution. "All will be well" are nice words to live by, but only truly zen people can live by them, and the only real way for all to be well is if you fight to make it well, which requires great will power. Rage can fuel you to fight harder and single mindedly pursue your goals, but it can burn you out and destroy everything around you. You need a strong will to keep the fire from burning everything to the ground. That being said, I think Anakin was poisoned by hope and rage. His hope for saving Padme and his rage towards the Jedi turned him into Vader resulting in his defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan. If Anakin had held on to the iron clad will he had throughout the Clone Wars and had he tried to push past all the bullshit the Jedi were selling him about peace and hope through control and the lies Palpatine fed him about rage being the only source of strength, then maybe he would have been able to come to terms with Padme dying in his visions and maybe he could have stopped Palpatine's rise to power and eventually straighten out the Jedi Order, finally getting everyone to pull their heads out of their asses.

Anakin Skywalker was more powerful and had more raw power and connection too the force then vader did but when Anakin was Vader he practice and hone his skills which made Vader have more powerful when it comes too experience tbh!

a misunderstood one - he was prophesised to bring BALANCE to the force and the most unbalancing thing was that Sith lived under Rule of two yet Jedi numbered in thousands, so obviously to restore the balance jedi order had to be crushed to balance the sides out.
which is exactly what he did, first hunted Jedi into extinction, then killed Palpatine and handed the future to his son who embraced both sides of the Force therefore establishing balance

personally I think Anakin had great potential but his own personality limited his potential be kind of fault along the same lines as Revenue during the Old Republic but the main difference between those two is read and understood the danger to the dark side where Anakin ignored them they both use the dark side and both broke away from traditional Jedi willing but like I said the main difference is revenue not to go too far to The Darkside worker up to you and it can willingly went over the line more than once if it's all throughout the movies and the Clone Wars really is potential clip in really reached its Mace Windu cuts off his own arrogance and taught him his form to channel his dark side and keep trying to control it so really even know and I can put the sword through the Jedi the council had a lot to do with it too with their own arrogance

King Of Naenae Hi , Darth Vader would be more powerful than Anakin because the dark side is a pathway to many abilities thought to be unnatural. Dark siders are usually more powerful than light siders because the nature of the dark side. Vader's abilities were hampered because of his injuries and cybernetics. He couldn't even use some abilities.

I think you said it perfectly, he was amount the greatest force users, but not amount the greatest of Jedi. He was destined to turn to the dark side which explains why his full potential would show when he tapped into it.

Pretty sure Luke Skywalker used dark side techniques from time to time. In Return of the Jedi he used force choke on those pig guards in Jabba's palace, and he tapped into his emotions against Darth Vader in order to take the edge in their second fight.
in old Canon Luke was true gray Jedi using both dark and light side. And it was always shown that grey Jedi or Jedi bordering on that territory were the most powerful force users of theyr time and also the wisest, not blinded by nonsensical doctrines of both Jedi and Sith but finding balance in the middle
GYM-SOCK-N64 Mace Windu is the embodiment of this. He lets the dark side flow through him but keeps it in check. Watch his video on Windu.
yeah the old EU novels explored what they called the unifying force. The force doesn't take sides. Jacen Solo was a proponent of the unifying force and at one point did use a version of force lightning to knock a bunch of yuuzhan vong unconscious.
Ironically, that's something that really annoyed me about the way Windu was in the films and TCW because he always blasted Jedi that didn't follow the 'true' Jedi code when he himself isn't following it at all

I've been watching this channel for a little while now and I've noticed that a lot of the lightsaber hilts look completely uncomfortable to wield with both hands but relatively manageable one handed

You should start rating (in your option) the How powerful they are on say a scale of 10. And do more of the secondary and third characters in star wars. I love these videos as it gives a sort of backstory to characters and explains why they went down the path that they did.

Prob. obi-wan would die, and yoda would have killed anakin, if the latter was caught off guard. If not, anakin would have a good chance in prolonging battle with yoda and tire him out, since they were not connected thst closely to cloud anakins' judgement.

I agree somewhat, I don't think Yoda would've messed around since he realized anakin had the potential to be the most powerful sith ever. He was much stronger in the force than Anakin and would've killed him quickly, tho Sidious would've killed Obi-wan equally as fast.
Obi-Wan would get toyed with in a similar manner to Darth Maul and Savage Opress v. Darth Sidious then get killed once Sidious realises the danger Vader is in. However by the time he gets to Mustafar, Vader would be dead and Yoda would be long gone.

you mention Anakin loved to fight. This makes me think we would have excelled with Vapaad. What would have happened if Obi-wan allowed him to study it? I think he would have overcome his darkness.
I think in the chapters of Windu before fighting Palpatine in the novilization, it is said that Vapaad would have pushed the already conflicted Anakin towards the Dark Side.
It was not only Obi-Wan who forbid it, but the other masters aswell.

Vaapad was actually so dangerous that all prospective practicioners had to be decided by Mace Windu himself.
And well, only 4 people are known to use Vaapad: Mace Windu, Sora Bulq, Depa Bilaba and Quinlan Vos
Out of these, only Mace Windu avoided bigger problems with the Dark Side, Sora Bulq and Depa Billaba fell completely to the Dark Side and Quinlan Vos eventually dealt with it, but he was definitely not your typical kind Jedi
I think that if Anakin were to practice it, he would have very soon fell to the Dark Side, he was simply not as stable a personality.
why is there a misconception that by avoiding to face your demons you are safer than confronting them and conquering them.
its the basic flaw in the Jedi teachings, they preach no emotion and then when those emotions inevitably go out of control they do not know how to deal with them and then fall ...
If properly taught the tapping into his inner anger and learning to CONTROL it would actually prepared Anakin to better handling those emotions.

Because unlike other fears, the dark side corrupts passively. So, so many Jedi fell for the Dark Side because of that mindset and if you have an already troubled individual, you are not really inclined to give him the tools to go mayham.
I mean, you don't give a psychopath a gun and say "Face your demons and don't use the gun on somebody innocent."
It is not a misconception, it is common sense to not have someone toy with something that can literally kill a shitload of people.
Imagine if Anakin learned the Vapaad and went Sith? He would have been not only undefeated but even more dangerous and probably would have overpowered Obi-Wan.
So in theory, as much as it doomed the Jedi Order, it also saved the Jedi that they did not try their luck with Anakin

Definitely a video on both Anakin and Vader. I mean a video on the "ifs" between them. Would Anakin's potential have been stifled if the Force had intended his destiny to become Vader for Luke to be the prophecied balance, or would there have been wiggle room, so to speak?

All 6 George Lucas movies are about anakin skywalker. He was the chosen one and he literally decided the whole fate of the universe. When he was Good, the universe became a good place to live, when he was evil, the whole universe was subjected to it. He brought balance to the force. He also had the highest midochlorian count of anybody ever. George Lucas said it could be as high as 40,000. Anakin is clearly the most powerful Jedi/Sith ever. All the stories about Luke or whoever else being more powerful are all just expanded universe crap from books other people write. Star Wars is Anakin Skywalker

Vader just reached his full potential, he augmented his suit through the force to Improve agility and strength, had one of the strongest bodies in star wars history, created his own light Saber style for fighting jedi specifically, but his mechanical body severed his potential in the force. Vaders force abilities are slightly less powerful than Anakins but more honed. If Anakins and Vader were to duel right before Anakin turned to the dark side Vader would win 6/10
Its hard to tell if Vader was more powerful than Anakin I've watched many videos debating the pro's and cons of the suit he wore as Vader following his defeat at the hands of Obi Wan, in some ways I'd say it made him weaker because he was unable to use force lighting but supposedly the suit kept him in constant pain meaning he could really effectively tap into the dark side for increased strength.
Tristan Hegyi I think Vader is more powerful because with his weakened body he matured into a fighter who could always stay a few steps ahead of his enemies, and his constant pain allowed him a powerful connection to the dark side.
