Porunn was a free woman, she wanted to fight, she went too far so Bjorn couldn't protect her, she pushed him away. Siggy never deserved what happened, but it was not only Bjorn's fault.

For me that is the saddest thing happened in vikings. Girl had nobody, mother and father left her and didn´t want to raise her. Nobody cared about her aslaug gave a f***, then she died and still nobody cares they just laughed. Even the showrunners didnt care! She was never mentioned again. Sigurd's curse is that he lost his innocence way too young. He witnessed his mother for who she really was. He saw how she ignored Bjorn's daughter, how she was rude to his disabled baby brother, and how she cheated on his father and ignored her children when Harboured was around. The loss of his innocence is what made him so distant and depressed when he's older. He escapes his traumas through his music and his resentment toward his mother made him careless when she was killed. His mother's behavior resulted in the death of his child self, while her prized child Ivar literally kills him when he's an adult. Sigurd is the archetypical tragic viking.

This is the moment where you want Aslaug and Ivar to die the most horrible deaths, you could also tell that this didn't sit well with young Sigurd, this is one of the main reasons he hated his mother and brother. Also this is just really poor writing, they obviously could not think up a future storyline for Siggy so just said hey let's kill her off and never mention her again.
I think this is another reason why i personally dislike Ivar (but he is a great character), the justification and excuses people keeping giving him is crazy. Guy kills 2 of his brothers and then people justify by ragnars quote 'be ruthless' yeah ruthless to everyone else not your family.
Sometimes I thought Sigurd was the only sane one out of everyone else on this show… maybe that’s why he had to die to soon. But in any regards, real life Sigurd was apparently legendary

Why did Bjron not care at all that her daughter died :(. It's so sad, she could have become a great shieldmaiden. And it makes no sense, we saw Aslaug saying that they would take care of her, and we saw a woman (probably a servant) with Siggy.
I wish Siggy (Bjorn's daughter) was kept alive. She had so much potential as a character. There could have been a cool storyline later on when she grew up where she had a rivalry/grudge against her father for abandoning her. Also it would have been cool to see what kind of person she would have grown up to be living with Aslaug and her sons. Also I wish they'd never killed Bjorn's sister Gyda because it would have been very interesting to see how she would have grown up and reacted to Aslaug, and whether she would have left with Bjorn and Lagertha or stayed with her father when he married Aslaug. There was so much wasted potential with both of these characters.

I never got past the lack of sympathy for her death, I want to say that was the viking way but it such a contrast to the way Ragnar says goodbye to his daughter Gyda. Perhaps this is how Vikings shows the difference between Ragnar and Bjorn.

Ubbe was a good one the stark difference torvi and his kids went everywhere with him yeah they lost few because the times they where in but Bjorn was just a neglected parent and didn't care I think that's what he meant when he realised there where none of his kids their as he was dying ..

That’s just the era it was. Medival Europe, especially pagan Europe didn’t value life like we do now. People used to die every day from things we take for granted today. Especially toddlers, if you made it to be a teenager count your blessings. I think that was what the writers were trying to show us. How little life was valued back then. One thing that got to me did anyone thought to send the child to her grandmother Agatha? She was told she cannot have a child by the seer well how about a granddaughter? And think about it she has another chance to raise a daughter. This adds some other things to consider the argument Ragnar had with the seer before his death. And let's go with Agatha cannot have a child anymore. The child would have been a miscarriage regardless of what she did. So instead of obsessing on a door that closes she could have seen another door that opened. Or those around her like her son.
Such a horrible scene. Literally left me crushed, even if it‘s not brutal visually the indifference of all the characters surrounding Siggy makes this so hard to watch for me. Just disturbing tbh, and the writers didn‘t think of bringing it up again apparently. If Bjorn or Sigurd or whoever would at least be mad about this or took revenge, this scene wouldn‘t be quite as devastating as it is for me. It‘s this horrible injustice.
Its pretty fucked how Bjorn never even seems to acknowledge that his first child died from straight-up neglect. And literally nobody gave a shit. At the very least they could've had a scene where he mourns her like with Ragnar when his daughter died during the epidemic. I love Bjorn but he treats his women and children like absolute dog shit

In a small community like that the only reason Siggy would have died like that is because asslaug wanted it that way. She was considered a witch and was dangerous. She murdered Siggy by forced neglect. Bjorn showed he was not a man as fathers go. Siggy was likely trying to wash and something went wrong.
Bro that little girl could've had quiet the storyline and possibly a main character for the next few seasons, fetch a heavy weight like Charlize Theron to play Siggy, daughter of Bjorn, carrying his banner long after his death, her mother appearing again later etc... instead they literally flushed the poor thing down the toilet

I feel for Siggy the most. She was the most down woman for hers and her own. She endured so much... But of course she had to have the hardest moments for the Tribe... She should have never had to endure such a heartbreaking fate.

Aslaug killed Thorunn and siggy. She took care of her throne and made sure no one else would have claim to it. That's why we never see the servant flirting with Ragnar after her second day in Kattegat. It is what it is.

I still find it really wild how pinnacle's of culture ALWAYS bring up the saddest of stories, why I was never one for Italian/sicilian stories, why English tragedies always felt the worst simply because of portrayals, why Norse stories seemed so empowering at first hearing in my hometown of Petersburg, Alaska only for them to get to these times and the stories became tragedy, why its always weird for Asia, Europe and so on all have tragic stories once they made it to "civilized" nations. Where you had some sad stories for The Tribes, Aztecs and southern tribes especially, why I was always thankful for the fact our forebears maintained a low level civilization, where we needn't worry about this sort of sadness infecting our Tribes.

I state this moment little Siggy's death when the series of Vikings start to go down and call this point for "jumping the shark" point if you know what thats mean . Poor battle scenes, rubbish new actors etc. Remember when Rollo was defending France against Bjorn and Lagertha and he built 2 towers on the river sides. Those towers looked like so cheap plastic shit I was laughing hard once Ive seen them ROTFL. The creators should have show something about Björn once he has heard about little Siggys death and cry, being angry, a funeral or whatever..... However series 6 is got a bit better I am just watching it now looks better than 3-4-5. Series 1&2 were the bests in my opinion.
I'm watching this on Netflix now and I had to check this scene on YT to read on other people's comment. This one is so sudden and unusually brutal (even by the show's standards) that I had to double check. They were just playing the last time she was featured. Really ?? Who was siggy gradmother ? Lagertha ! Was lagertha the responsability , not aslaug or ivar . Björn was siggy father , not aslaug . When aslaug resive the massage she was drunk !! She was the only one who take care since she was born . Lagertha even get to know her
This is the moment where you want Aslaug and Ivar to die the most horrible deaths, you could also tell that this didn't sit well with young Sigurd, this is one of the main reasons he hated his mother and brother. Also this is just really poor writing, they obviously could not think up a future storyline for Siggy so just said hey let's kill her off and never mention her again.

I think this is another reason why i personally dislike Ivar (but he is a great character), the justification and excuses people keeping giving him is crazy. Guy kills 2 of his brothers and then people justify by ragnars quote 'be ruthless' yeah ruthless to everyone else not your family.

The only death I cared about in the entire show. An unwanted child from before she was born to the day she died. Neglected in every possible way, even by the writers lol I'm still salty about it to this day.
Why did Bjron not care at all that her daughter died :(. It's so sad, she could have become a great shieldmaiden. And it makes no sense, we saw Aslaug saying that they would take care of her, and we saw a woman (probably a servant) with Siggy.

I wish Siggy (Bjorn's daughter) was kept alive. She had so much potential as a character. There could have been a cool storyline later on when she grew up where she had a rivalry/grudge against her father for abandoning her. Also it would have been cool to see what kind of person she would have grown up to be living with Aslaug and her sons. Also I wish they'd never killed Bjorn's sister Gyda because it would have been very interesting to see how she would have grown up and reacted to Aslaug, and whether she would have left with Bjorn and Lagertha or stayed with her father when he married Aslaug. There was so much wasted potential with both of these characters.
Erik, Leif, Arne, Tostig and Torsten also wasted characters.
Aslaug and her little monster.. parents who see their children’s problems and act like it’s nothing because they love them are weak and not good parents.

I can’t believe this woman had no empathy or love for her step-grandchild, whom she delivered herself and raised from a baby. Just can’t wrap my head around Aslaug. I never got past the lack of sympathy for her death, I want to say that was the viking way but it such a contrast to the way Ragnar says goodbye to his daughter Gyda. Perhaps this is how Vikings shows the difference between Ragnar and Bjorn.

Ubbe was a good one the stark difference torvi and his kids went everywhere with him yeah they lost few because the times they where in but Bjorn was just a neglected parent and didn't care I think that's what he meant when he realised there where none of his kids their as he was dying ..

That’s just the era it was. Medival Europe, especially pagan Europe didn’t value life like we do now. People used to die every day from things we take for granted today. Especially toddlers, if you made it to be a teenager count your blessings.

One thing that got to me did anyone thought to send the child to her grandmother Agatha? She was told she cannot have a child by the seer well how about a granddaughter? And think about it she has another chance to raise a daughter.
This adds some other things to consider the argument Ragnar had with the seer before his death. And let's go with Agatha cannot have a child anymore. The child would have been a miscarriage regardless of what she did. So instead of obsessing on a door that closes she could have seen another door that opened. Or those around her like her son.

Such a horrible scene. Literally left me crushed, even if it‘s not brutal visually the indifference of all the characters surrounding Siggy makes this so hard to watch for me. Just disturbing tbh, and the writers didn‘t think of bringing it up again apparently. If Bjorn or Sigurd or whoever would at least be mad about this or took revenge, this scene wouldn‘t be quite as devastating as it is for me. It‘s this horrible injustice.
Its pretty fucked how Bjorn never even seems to acknowledge that his first child died from straight-up neglect. And literally nobody gave a shit. At the very least they could've had a scene where he mourns her like with Ragnar when his daughter died during the epidemic. I love Bjorn but he treats his women and children like absolute dog shit

In a small community like that the only reason Siggy would have died like that is because asslaug wanted it that way. She was considered a witch and was dangerous. She murdered Siggy by forced neglect. Bjorn showed he was not a man as fathers go. Siggy was likely trying to wash and something went wrong.

Aslaug killed Thorunn and siggy. She took care of her throne and made sure no one else would have claim to it. That's why we never see the servant flirting with Ragnar after her second day in Kattegat. It is what it is.

Bjorn Ironside: A good leader but a worst father ive ever seen in the show. The death of this poor girl made me really sad. Almost all of his children are dead because of the stupid decisions of the older ones who should normally take care of them.

I still find it really wild how pinnacle's of culture ALWAYS bring up the saddest of stories, why I was never one for Italian/sicilian stories, why English tragedies always felt the worst simply because of portrayals, why Norse stories seemed so empowering at first hearing in my hometown of Petersburg, Alaska only for them to get to these times and the stories became tragedy, why its always weird for Asia, Europe and so on all have tragic stories once they made it to "civilized" nations. Where you had some sad stories for The Tribes, Aztecs and southern tribes especially, why I was always thankful for the fact our forebears maintained a low level civilization, where we needn't worry about this sort of sadness infecting our Tribes.

Siggy's actress is my aunt. I've never watched the show and i don't really intend to, all I know about it is that she was in it and then she died
I state this moment little Siggy's death when the series of Vikings start to go down and call this point for "jumping the shark" point if you know what thats mean . Poor battle scenes, rubbish new actors etc. Remember when Rollo was defending France against Bjorn and Lagertha and he built 2 towers on the river sides. Those towers looked like so cheap plastic shit I was laughing hard once Ive seen them ROTFL. The creators should have show something about Björn once he has heard about little Siggys death and cry, being angry, a funeral or whatever..... However series 6 is got a bit better I am just watching it now looks better than 3-4-5. Series 1&2 were the bests in my opinion.

I'm watching this on Netflix now and I had to check this scene on YT to read on other people's comment. This one is so sudden and unusually brutal (even by the show's standards) that I had to double check.
