      Oh god yes
      I'm German,

but with the cutie I would cheat permanently.
So far I've only been interested in French planes, but they're even more expensive. ^^

Could've done with the 260 bhp setup from the 308 GTi for about 420 bhp in combined output, and then it may actually hit that 5.2s 0-62 time (I've not seen a single video where it's managed it, yet).
Also, I know it's expensive, but hearing consumers (and some reviewers) complain about it being "too expensive for a Peugeot" sounds like they'd happily pay that money if the badge was the only thing that was changed.

The thing about the price/brand is the low sell-on price you’d get for it. Maybe lease rather than buy if you want one?

because people don't trust the brand, from previews issues, cheap electronics, cheap quality! yes this car looks great but will it give any serious trouble in 3-5 years, will it be reliable.. there are few questions marks about it. and instead of building trust and increase the asking price slowly Peugeot wants consumers to pay high price straight away 60-75K€ is a lot of money for a unproved car.

Stunning to look at, probably great to drive, just a bit too expensive for a Peugeot.

If you think 56k is too much... just remember a VW Golf GTE with far less power, slower, options and spec is £45k. Let that sink in, you get a smaller car, no massaging seats, no premium audio, no physical buttons... I could go on. £45K. I'd rather pay the extra and go for this and actually feel like I am driving a premium car. A BMW 330e starts from £45k for the poverty spec that is still, somehow slower than the 508. I reckon this is competitively priced.

In many manufacturer's ranges these days to only way to get decent performance if you want to avoid the black pump, is to go for the PHEV version (e.g. Volvo, the Peugeot 3008, Mercedes C/E without going full AMG etc.). So no, putting performance and economy together is hardly new or unusual.

Agreed if you took the two electric motors and the 1.6 engine that's in the 508 and put I the 308 it would be a winner. With the 508 you could have the 1.6 as an entry version and with PSA now part of Stellaris which so owns Vauxhall bolt their electric motors to the 2.0 litre on the Insignia onto the 508 PSE it could shake things up.

Nice one Nicola an err... intriguing review. At least Peugeot can't be taken to the trading standards over the size of the glove box as it does look like you can at a push fit a single glove in it so I guess that 's OK for golfers then. The design looks good even in wagon form but unfortunately I don't think they provided the best colour for this car being the sporty shouty version that, well, blends into the road (I winder if they term the colour "Parisian patio slab". The innards look good (apart from the fact I don't play golf so can't use the glove box), nice switch play with the piano keys (with functions on top so harder to see by the driver) and decent load carrying. I think you summed it up rather well with the 'big juicy but' given the price and other options available from other brands it may well be that fabled unicorn. Oh! did you remember the milk?

Why even bother having the electric motors?? With a range of 26 miles, they’re useless. Just make it all out petrol or diesel, not a tiny petrol engine and electric motors that do nothing.

@@pap_chr5063 The reviewers final comment is the same as my opinion, “it’s just too expensive!” I’m sure it’s a great car but Peugeot’s do not and never have held their resale value. Therefore if you PCP one, your monthly payment will be astronomical and there will be no equity at the end. If you buy one outright you will lose almost all your money over three or four years. That’s not badge snobbery, that’s economics! I recently came out of a three year PCP agreement from BMW with £10k equity. That I’m afraid would never happen with this car.
Putting all that aside, I respect your opinion but mine is different. I don’t think it’s the best car in this segment at all when you consider everything and not just the way it looks. BTW I don’t drive in this segment, I just have an interest in cars 👍🏻

@@MrMrp69 The resale value is good nowadays at least better tjan the past according to surveys and what i have seen. A bmw g20 has worse resale value than the peugeot 508.And it is the best ij the segment. It has the best interior, it's so premium, and technology is superior than the rivals. Take a look at the audi a4s interior, is so boring ans miles behind than the 508, the quality isn't great either. Here in my country it starts from 74.000€,that's a lot for 360hp 60k isn't. Dont forget that peugeots only makes it premium cars these years and we can't see it from fhe sales and awards

I have been in several of the latest models as my brother is the Operations Director for a big PSA group retailer all over the UK. But my opinion that it’s too expensive stands.
