Methinks Matt didn't reset the trip after all his hooning around.

Because it's nearly twice the price of the regular car - It's basically a different car in terms of performance and features, but most people won't be able to afford it... But it's nice it exists for those that can. It's more a rival for a 5 series, maybe even an M5 than these cars :) . (If the 6 MPS hadn't been so short-lived and there was a new version, again that'd be something good to compare to the GSI, but alas we can only dream about getting one probably.)
Put it simply, he picked the worst car. Before PSA bought Opel/Vauxhall, they wanted to move their 508 platform to the Insignia platform for cost sharing. They paid a visit Opel/Vauxhall HQ to find out about the viability. Just that one visit was enough to convince them otherwise. They found an aging platform that was too heavy, not electric ready and was going to take them backwards emissionwisely. They went back and decided to rebuild the 508. The Mazda has the worst diesel engine ever.

The Insignia is a fantastic car, I have a 2020 1.5D and it's comfy, practical and fast enough. However I have no clue how Matt managed to get only 32 MPG from this model, I've averaged 55MPG over the last 2500 miles and on a motorway run at a steady cruise controlled 70 mph it always returns 65 MPG with normal Shell diesel and 72 MPG with Shell Vpower Diesel. Methinks Matt didn't reset the trip after all his hooning around.
go for Insignia! I did, actually :)
@Ikik Paki 2 years, 80.000 km, nothing to repair. My Insignia is 2.0T. Just standard oil, filters and brakes.
Hi, still own? Recommend over 508?
Yeees, i've always been in love with insignia and finally next year i will be able to afford it, with 23 yrs old on Balkan. GOD, THANK YOU!
Still think the Mazda would be the best long term purchase, as in the other two will start falling to bits long before the Mazda, as well as far less depreciation.
I’ve had the range topping Opel Insignia Sports Tourer 2.0 Turbo 4x4 (260hp petrol) now for 1.5 yrs and 27000kms and it’s actually the best car I’ve owned, including 3 Audis (of one S4), one MB, one VW, 2 Jeeps, 3 Hyundais, 1 Fiat, 3 Fords, 1 Chevy, a MINI and 8 Porsches. Actually I chose the Insignia over a Porsche SUV/Panamera. The total package the Insignia delivers is absolutely awesome. Besides the amazing Intellilux matrix lights which is always left at auto high beam, the Webasto heater and the super duper FlexRide chassis, I must say the BOSE noise cancelling system of the passenger compartment is my favorite tech. The mechanical 4x4 system with the active tourqe diff on the rear axel is brilliant driving on Scandinavian winter roads. And the towing capacity of 2.2tonnes makes it a capable hauler also. Brilliant car from Rüsselsheim, before any PSA interference. It’s a keeper!
I had Mazda 6 Mps 2008 and its the best car i have ever had so i go for Mazda😋
I'd go for Peugeot anyway, what a beautiful car! What an enterior!
The Peugeot has concept car interiors
It's a shame you've used a cheap version of the insignia compared to the other cars
Not really. The displayed Insignia has extra seats and infotainment system, putting in the better equipment cathegory. Just the lights are basic.

I actually like the exterior design of the Vauxhall/Opel. It sort of reminds me of a Mercedes. But the Mazda definitely has the best interior. With the practicality of the Insignia I'd love to mix them both.
To me, it looks more like a Volvo with the round grill entry and lowered front profile.
The Insignia 2 is so good, it is often compared to much more expensive Audis in German magazines.
Yes, undervalued.

You don't even need a "nav" model if you have a phone with Google maps or whatever the iphones use. Just use Android Auto/Apple Car Play.

Mat is like Agatha Christie with a final verdict falling on the suspect that is least to be expected from the story before.
Mazda. No doubt. The beautiful looks outside, quality inside and has the most reliable engine of the three.

I think you are wrong. Although the Insignia seems your best choice, I guarantee you that the Mazda will be by far the best quality for money you get in this class and will have the highest trade-in price in 3-4 years. Although the Peugeot looks very good, it will probably break down within a year or two. The Insignia with its grumpy engine devaluates most certainly quicker then the other two cars. So the conclusion must be that the Mazda is the best choice when you take all the above in consideration.
Great review and even though the Peugeot and the Mazda look pretty sharp. The Vauxhall has a good blend of smart and style (in black and with the led headlights) and the insignia is quite good to drive,
