I'm just floored at the detail you're able to put into those books. Those spine stripes really set it off, and I would never have thought to include them. They're all works of art, honestly. Well done!
haha cheers!! This wasn't really a LOTR project but the ring skit just happened.... again lol. I guess the little desk I made is supposed to be Bilbos desk with the red book ;)
You know that warm ,fuzzy feeling you get when you discover an amazing yet under appreciated channel and you just binge watch all the videos? I got that feeling today when I found your channel 😊
I really like how you did the books! I wouldnt have ever thought to do them that way, but my favorite has to be the outhouse.....maybe because i old and have to pee all the time??? ;)
Thanks Lance!! haha I hope I didn't cause you to have an accident. My daughter pee'd on the sofa today so thats fun lol Also, thanks Lance, I just got a notification from Patreon! I will send you a proper message a little later this evening. You legend :D
An outhouse! FINALLY someone made one! 👍 I have an ongoing joke with myself (as I have no friends) that no matter the terrain or diorama, there are never "comfort facilities". The bookcase is my favourite for technical execution. I love that you use carving to make items. I need to learn that skill! Speaking of which, have you mentioned where you obtained the carving set you use?
@@Nat1videos the outhouse was very cool, but I would be so uncomfortable without a door! 😅 If you have a few moments more, a door standing ajar with a crescent moon window up high, and a can (ceramic jar I guess) of wood ash would complete that excellent build.
@@andrewfarrington6927 I did consider it! Also nearly made a curtain style door... but I wanted to stick within the time frame of 1 evening per project and it was already late in the day on that one! I figured as long as no one can attack you from behind you are good lol
The well is my favourite, it's a beautiful little piece that tells a real story all by itself. Also, I can't see an overgrown outhouse anymore without hearing 'All Star' by Smash Mouth... 😄
Amazing job on these! I'd say my favourite would be the wizards desk with all the bits and bobs on, they look great 🙂 I need a bits n' bob and jewelry pieces tin like that When you put on the ring I couldn't help but start singing "the bearer of the riiiiing, the wearer of the riiiiing" 😂

Lovely idea to do some smaller projects to help get the creative juices flowing. I love the wizards desk. To me there’s always been something appealing about scholarly looking desks.
Hey Michael, i absolutely love your idea (and the execution ofc ;) ) of these little daily builds! Can't even decide which build i like the most... they're all so characterful and rich with details! 😍 No matter if you go big or small with your builds, your craftsmanship, artistry and humour blow my mind every time mate! :D
Thanks so Martin!! Appreciate it so much man. I have a package sitting under my crafting desk all wrapped up to send to you! I keep forgetting to go out to the post office. I need to get that done!
You have such mad skills! I love every single one of these. But, more importantly - to me anyway- is that you brighten my day when I watch your videos. Michael, you are CRAZY!!! You should know better than to put on the ring! LOL
I’m really into the outdoors scenery stuff at the moment, so I’m really into your well and wood pile. The difference in flocking colours looks awesome. Cool video Michael!
Thanks Dale! Yeah, mixing up your colours really helps. Also trying different mixes of types works too. Here I only used fine foam flock, but a little static grass or maybe even saw dust would help too :)
Really fun video with great results for each of the builds. Like many others stated, I really like them all, but I think the wood pile is my favorite. I'm cooking up this cool ruin scene diorama in my mind for my next project and I might just steal the wood pile idea for part of it. Thanks for this and all your videos. They are always a ton of fun.
Thank you!! I am quite surprised to see how many people like the little wood pile haha It seems that simplicity wins the day yet again :D Thank you so much for watching !
So feckin' cool, Michael. They all turned out so well. My fav is the wizard desk. I want it. Not that one. I want a full size one. Ah, well I am going to 5-in-5 challenge myself, in the near future. It'll be nice to build for myself, for a bit You just had to, eh? ⭕

Really good video. Lots of basic techniques put together really well. Always good to get back to the basics and make small scatter stuff that always comes in handy. Thanks!!! (My fav was the bookcase, I've not seen the books done like that. Nice and simple but they look great!!!)
these types of projects are something i really need to start doing more. i'm usually a tryhard perfectionist who doesn't get anything done because i obsess over stupid details. maybe i'll try my hand at this sort of challenge
Yeah, this is literally the kind of project you can just let go and have fun... don't worry about mistakes just craft, hone your skills a little and then save your perfectionism for your big ideas ;)
Hi Nat great video. Would you please share the types of materials you use. What type of foam is this, the cuttin equipment, the paints, or what did you make grass and soul out of etc?
Hey Nadia! Sure :) The foam is called XPS foam, or sometimes its called underfloor insulation foam. The hot wire cutter is called a Proxxon hotwire cutter but I also use a simple wood carving knife a lot which can easily be found on Amazon. The paint I use is all from the Army Painter Mega Paint set. And lastly I use a light shade and a dark shade of foam flock from Geek Gaming Scenics. Hope that helps :D
@@ragozzinehq haha yes! Ok... well I know as a one off payment that is a lot of money, but let me at least give a fair case for the proxxon. Most people these days have phones, laptops or i-pads etc that kind of cost the same amount, but they suck us in to social media which isnt good for our mental health. A Proxxon won't do that... it will always be good for your mental health. Some people like to party or have few drinks every now and then, which over time adds up to a lot of money.... that fun is fleeting and passes very quickly and you have nothing to show for it at the end. The proxxon doesn't do that. It's an amazing tool that is great for your mental health because you get to be creative and make awesome things that are unique to you! It brings lasting happiness because you get to use it again and again and again... So I kind of see it as a very affordable investment that becomes way more valuable than $149 in a very short space of time. And if anyone can afford other fleeting expences that don't last then surely with a little time and saving they could potentially have a Proxxon which will last a life time and bring many years of joy and happiness. How'd I do ? lol
Sorry if you've been asked this before but, where do you source your pink xps foam? Only place I know of is the underfloor heating company and I just want to check I'm not missing an easier or cheaper option. 😊
