Never realized how good I had it up there until I left! I miss all my favs! Phil's, Palermo's, Beggar's, etc. Everyone down here things Chicago Pizza is just deep dish.
Every pizza place uses canned tomatoes which they purify themselves, or canned purified tomatoes like these guys. Nothing out of the norm. It's gonna cost so much more to purify your own fresh tomatoes just to end up with exactly the same product. If anything canned tomatoes are better for sauce since they're picked while they're in season.
Blake Christo Can you show the part where they used canned tomatoes? I saw tomato paste, tomato puree, tomato sauce and pizza sauce cans. You obviously missed the part where they were opening a can that said chicago style pizza sauce on it. It's the can the guy was trying to hide from the camera.

People dont realize that this (and most pizza places) are "trash can sauces" a REAL pizza sauce is COOKED from fresh tomatoes, celery, spices, fresh garlic and carrots for sweetness. First question i ask is if the hammertoes are made out of canned sauce.
A REAL pizza sauce is not cooked and if it is they certainly don’t use fresh tomatoes. Do a little research on the best pizzerias in the world and you’ll see 99% of them used canned plum tomatoes.
Sauce looks like PASTE !!!!! I can see that the toppings are already SLIDING RIGHT OFF the pizza, as they slice it... They don't even know the most BASIC... how do you think it's gonna taste????
The colors of the Italian flag are fine but I don't understand the picture of the tower of Pisa. Pizza was born in Naples, it was created in Naples. Never forget it.
I grew up on this pizza and it's still number one for me and well worth the drive if you're not from the area.
