Our appetites went from zero to a hundred real quick 😋
🥂🍾
Purpose chef
I like how they had real chefs/restaurateurs like Donnie Madia playing themselves for this, it added so much to the authenticity of the show.
I didn't know who any of the people who Sydney was talking to were, but I just knew that they were non-actors and actual people in the restaurant industry. They just sounded too authentic and genuine to be acting.
@@semafodje782 I know some industry people and they love this show. I'm sure the folks who appeared here were thrilled at the opportunity.
A lot of people complained about how it was unrealistic with the way she ate so much but seriously when one is exploring a place through food, it really is a journey and you usally have an empty stomach for it haha. I was in london for a few days and every day i ate about 7-8 times, and not just small meals. It helps to be travelling, moving around a lot which burns calories. This was a fantsstic episode ❤
Food tours are so amazing! Usually when I do one, I usually prep by not eating for awhile lol.
I thought it was obvious she wasn't eating the entire dish each time but taking a few mouthfuls of each one to understand the flavours and textures.
walking/transiting definitely helps, instead of sitting in a car lol
I did the same thing in Japan; two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and whatever dessert, snacks and alcohol I could find. It helped that I was walking a good 10 - 20 kms a day
None is complaining about it!
Some truly marvelous directing in this episode. Really made the city of Chicago feel like a character. Might have single-handedly upped the rate of food tourism in the city.
I did a food tour of Chicago some 10 years ago - Hot Doug's, Blackbird, Alinea, a seafood shack on a bridge that was awesome although I can't recall the name...now I just want to go back and do it again...honestly love that city but I'm too wimpy to deal with the climate.
This was a love letter to the food of Chicago and it was beautiful to watch.
I love her performance! She brings something unique to the show.
her acting is amazing.
She displays integrity and surprise that makes you want to know more about where she is going as a professional
Gotta praise Sydney’s initiative here. Scouting the restaurants of Chicago for ideas for The Bear.
Incredible how all of these places are actually real spots in Chicago
Did that one that closed in the show close in real life too?
1:14 I love the fact that Original Beef / The Bear is actually located on Orleans St (where Mr. Beef is) in the show's canon. They could've easily just named it any other street for the show, but nah.
one of my fave scenes this season
i love sydney!
You would think this is a professional music video or a montage but it's just one epic scene in this show
Bravo
Myeah well you just pointed out the issue here...the soundtrack takes over at times.
@@anmnouI’ve literally never thought they nor known anyone who did. 😂😂
I think The Bear is so good cause like Carmie is going through a very real and necessary character arc of letting love in during the most INCONVENIENT time for the business.
"A great partner.. someone you can trust".
She don’t trust Carmy lol and I don’t blame her, kids a mess
@@ScottSterling21 she's a mess too
@@alicelulutzshe might be a mess in some way but Carmy is radioactive. That dude REALLY need professional help
@@johans3164exactly he needs professional help😂 I feel like some people are convinced she’s worse than Carmen like no…
@@Ziyasinterlude All through the show I kept thinking Carmen and his family need therapy. Badly.
This scene makes me want to visit Chicago so badly❤
We got some good food here. Visit soon.
This was my favorite part of s02
i wish my dad would have do this when he opened his restaurant
list all the restaurants please
Carm annoyed me so much this season. Syd is going above and beyond. She's putting so much trust in Carm. To the point where she could get taken advantage of. And he's just out wasting time. She doesn't have a profit share. She's deferring her payment for 6 months while Tina and Ebra are going to culinary school and still getting paid. She's there trying to convince Jimmy to invest more money into The Bear. And Carm is flaking on her & doesn't think to call her when he's reconstructing the restaurant.
The heart of chicago is food for sure
Wow those suggestions lol 😂😭
This inspires me. Now I want to splurge by going from place to place in my hometown and just eating out at lots of places❤.
I did the same!
Big Love.
Does anybody know what Jacket she’s using in this episode is called? Brand? Style? I’m obsessed with it.
Ayo Edibiri is gonna win the golden globe
She did!!!
And the Emmy❤
I'm thinking that Chicago is a place I don' t know enough about. Are these chefs all restauranteurs from the City? That's inspiring and generous
Yes, it's such a great nod to culinary experts of Chicago. Literally my favorite place to just eat and walk everywhere.
So much of this feels familiar to a Chicago native
:34 that restaurant ended up closing
That restaurant (Verdana) isn't real, the real name is called Giant and it's still very much open
@@greyblueme9711 I mean that later in the show Sydney passes by and the place is closed
I don’t know how she could pay attention and ask questions after all that food. I’d be struggling to stay awake. I remember having to drive home on the freeway after eating a Philadelphia-style cheese steak sandwich. I swerved a few times.
By walking.
someone pelase tell me what 1:36 was PLEASE
I really enjoy her character and her acting mannerism style. Early on it seemed like she used a style similar to Anna Kendrick's mannerism style used for characters.
Are these real places in Chicago?
some of them yeah
Avec is real.
All of them are real, only thing that isn't is just walking into Kasama, it takes a hour and a half at least of standing in line before you can order.
@@x4president1 The French bistro she visits is also fictional.
Yes, most of them are. The Publican and Avec are two of the best restaurants in the city.
I was concerned that she blew the whole restaurants budget on this tour!
I'm not sure about the overwhelming hospitality though; personally, I feel a bit smothered if the server is all over me. My fine dining experience is quite limited though.
I don't think he meant overwhelming as in constantly being around the guests, but as in "overwhelmingly good at their job" - good service can really make or break a restaurant.
@@karolineCPH That makes sense, I think you're right.
I think what he was saying it's to watch and learn from the customer to see what they need some people like when their servers are attentive and some like it when they're left alone but not forgotten
Warning: do not watch this video with an empty stomach
How did she eat all that? Haha
I'm wondering the same thing
rlly late but usually when you're tasting food like this, you take like 4 bites max to get all of the flavors textures etc. you arent rlly eating it like you would have a meal ,, more like studying it like an art
no soul food?
If you're hungry, do not watch this. Just don't. 😀
Rolling in the cash isn't she, can afford to eat at all these restaurants in one day. Also those are not "taster plate" size portions, they are full on meals, absolutely ridiculous "montage."
She started to annoy me....I feel she is so not connected to the whole thing. Every other character has a history with the restaurant...
Here we go with this b.s. just say you can't connect to a black woman character and go on with life.
I can tell you lack experience with watching and analyzing a show. She's supposed to be new to the bear. The ebar is filled with chaos and trauma and to have someone who doesn't fit that mold but rather helps everyone find something new and reclaim their love is what makes the show wonderful.
I think she’s a perfect character for this show. This show relies on ‘show don’t tell’ or natural reveals of character and exposition. She’s the new kid on the block that asks the natural questions that unfold the plot without it being monologue-y. She the first person to trust Carmy’s decisions because she admires him meanwhile the other characters were very rigid and stuck in their ways.
Obviously, she’s connected to the restaurant. She’s coming out of a past where her own business tanked and this is her second chance to shine and partner with a Michelin man. She’s talented, but green and overly ambitious/bordering impatient and it makes for an interesting dynamic with the other characters.
I’ll agree that the second season was trying to push the carmy romance with that girl and it kind of sidelined syd making her feel very second thought. I didn’t like that.
She’s a passionate young female chef and It’s important to have her perspective.
If she didn’t care or wasn’t connected she wouldn’t be building a menu for this restaurant or going on a food tour.
I wish they showed the process of building the menu more tbh.
Are u even payin attention to the show? She literally said every Sunday her dad use to take her to get Italian beef sandwiches at that restaurant. So stop making up stuff.
