  • Fitting the FPR on the Land Rover Td5 engine should be too hard if you make things easy for yourself. We have stripped down the connector block to ensure the bolts can be accessed. See how it is done.

hi, i don't wish to be daft or seem like i want to cut corners (i am just worried about dirt getting in) could i just replace the regulator by undoing the circlip? i bought a bosh regulator which is promoted as being better than the land rover unit. can it be replaced without taking the whole housing off the head? regards

How many times did you drop the gasket before getting the bolts in LOL

Can you get away with just replacing the gasket and O rings? or it is better to replace the aluminium block? mine is weeping/lightly covered in diesel. Would like to order up ahead plus it is the first time i attempt it. Nice informative video by the way :)

You can buy just the diaphragm kit with all "O" rings complete for around £50, saving over £100 on the complete unit, there is nothing to go wrong with the aluminium casting, so no point in replacing that.

In the FPR is there an anti dead heading hole so it will return fuel under 4bar?
I thought my td5 was sucking air so I pressurised the system with air, checked the whole system with soapy water and found nothing. I did find that when applying 1bar of air on the HP feed to the FPR (green) air was returning to the tank through the LP return. I didn't think it should do that before the FPR opens at 4bar?

Hey, my auto td5 Disco 2a is kinda bunny hopping at 3000rpm when you floor it, ever had this?

Not had that on a Td5 but you will have to do some investigations. Check the crankshaft signal at that rev range see if it is glitching or not.

turbo wastegate that is gripped. Surpression in admission, then automatic gasoil stop to prevent damage, hence the bunny hopping
