If it were trying to be more comedic, the only thing destroyed on the Promenade would’ve been Quark’s (but the doors he locked would’ve somehow been the only thing that survived unscathed-adding to the comedy of him unlocking them. "United We Stand, Divided We Fall". I guess the Klingons never heard of that. Sisko was right. The more they fight amongst themselves, the weaker they become and the more confused and distracted they become. Eventually, they forget who the real enemy is. And the worst part is neither the Dominion nor the Founders would've had to lift a finger. All they would've had to do was just sit back and watch the Federation, Klingons and Cardassians destroy each other. With all sides fighting each other, they would leave the Alpha Quadrant perfectly safe and open for the Dominion to come in and take over. And they all would do exactly what Gowron said he didn't intend to do; Hand victory to the Dominion.

Probably didn't help matters that the "Martok" advising and pushing for war and euphoria is actually a Changeling in disguise, assigned specifically to cause havoc in the Alpha Quadrant.

Excellent final scene for The Way of the Warrior, the best episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and all Star Trek TV series combined together. It will never be matched. Robert O'Reilly was excellent as Chancellor Gowron. The same for J.G.Hertzler as General Martok and Michael Dorn as Lieutenant Commander Worf. A mention also to Marc Alaimo who was also excellent as the evil Gul Dukat. The same for Andrew J. Robinson as Garak, Casey Biggs as Damar, and Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun, who were also excellent. An important milestone for Star Trek Deep Space Nine; it took a new direction and never looked back. Gowron: "I do not intend to hand victory to the Dominion! But let your people know! The Klingon Enpire will remenber what has happened here! You're sided against us in battle! And this, we do not forgive! Or forget!". 'Kira Nerys: "Looks like the Klingons are here to stay.". Benjamin Sisko: "Maybe they are. And so are we."". Great Star Trek! Star Trek at its best, period! That is all! "Destroying an empire to win a war is no victory! Ending a battle to save an empire is no defeat!"
