In 1987, my old high school won a contest to have Wang Chung play a concert there. Some very amazing students were able to turn it into a fundraisier for a student that suffered a brain injury a few weeks before. The band visited the boy in the hospital, and made a big difference in his recovery.
something similar happened my Senior Year of HS , a friend of mine was sitting on the hood of someones car in the school parking lot, and he would not get off of it, so the dumb dingus in the car thought if he started to back the car up really quick, it would get my friend to get off the Hood. unfortunately, my friend fell off and hit his head, and had a serious brain injury. he used to be an "A" average student, but after he recovered , he had the mental capacity of a 8 year old 😥sadly , no bands visited his hospital room tho...

Now, if these two words appear in the opposite order or not directly next to each other in the sentence, all bets are off. @@schooltrashers The nostalgia is too much at times, I long for that era, growing up in the 70s and 80s. A time in life and music never to be repeated.
I always wondered when that sentiment began, like did someone that grew up in the 20s think swing music was the best ever? That's pretty much the beginning of recorded popular music. Yeah it's about 100 years now. That's all the way back when there were only 2 radio stations, one for music and one for news.
I'm a Gen Z, and I find this more listenable than the descent into Hell that is TikTok. VERY toxic platform with very predictable music. While the general treatment of women was still a work in progress in the '80s, the artists in that decade were at least creative. MTV was also more like teamwork than a tiring platform.
Another perfect example of great song meets bizarre music video. Director: Ok I need you to perform this song about having fun but do it with all the enthusiasm of someone waiting impatiently for a bus. Singer: Are you sure? I don't think looking bored/pissed off really matches the tone of the song. Director: Trust me we'll add some seizure inducing strobe effects later, it'll be AWESOME!!
Beginning of the 80s Music Videos were a brand new feature. I think the singer played his part low key. I love this song and saw it back in the day. It was very "New Wave" at that time

No one in my circle knows why I love this song so much… but it’s seriously one of my favorite tracks of all time. I heard it from a commercial in the 2000s
Great memories with this song. I miss the happy and good times when this song was on power play. Life was so uncomplicated and the music was great in the 80´s :-)
Those music critics never grew up in a time when songs like one and funk songs were the rage, and they were fun. Songs that had no political meaning, they show no dissension, just honest and pure songs.Just simply good music. Their songs will always be around and will always be enjoyed by those folks who grew up listening to great music .
you know everybody is going to say the time period they grew up with was fun... its literally you being young and just having new experiences ..nothing new about that with later generations you still are able to experience previous generation songs ..you tend to have a bigger library to experience really. i was born end of 80's myself but grew up in the 90's

7 years old in 1980, 16 in 1989.

imagine having the technology of today in the 80s people would look at you in amazement you would be like a futuristic space man
Takes me back to my MTV days. Three thumbs up!!
Evrtybody have fun tonight...the 80s mantra. Have fun and to hell w the consquences!!
I want MY MTV! (when they actually played music)
Or, if you’re Canadian, Much Music! I remember when this came out in London, Ontario….
What are we waiting for? Let's go!
Brilliant!!! So much fun to watch, although it did cause some screws to loosen up in my brain.
The 80s was the best time of my life. I finished high school in 1984. You could say I danced my ass off in the 80s.
Me too.
Can you still sit down or do you need ass implants? 🤣 Danced my ass off. 🤣

UA-cam is the greatest time machine ever! Love this song😂
Los ochenteros hasta la fecha somos chingones

So true man🎸🎸💪best thing ever
Strange weird song the people are shaking and that's just weird
UA-cam has now replaced MTV as my place to go to watch music videos....MTV is now garbage with all their stupid reality shows.
I used to dance in the dark while turning this up while being alone in My house! Even my late mother loved this song! Everyone Wang Chung!
EVERYBODY HAVE FUN TONIGHT!! ❤
I was an 80's kid and loved it.
Everytime I hear this song it lifts me up and makes me feel like dancing

I was 20 at University when this dropped... My God was it a hit and heard all of the time. When the DJ spun this up the floor went CRAZY.
Godley & Creme, the directors of this video, were one of many that really knew how to shake up the “music video” medium. And, boy, it showed.
Everybody Wang Chung tonight.
Procrastinators Wang Chung tomorrow.

This song is better than 100% of today's music.
You don't say.
I was blessed to have lived through this era of music.
My wife and I started going out in 1986, and we did have a lot of fun back then.
@@OBCBTTB I too am blessed to live through this era of music. There was more effort during this time than today's music.
The 80's, where people STILL GO to have fun.
60[s and 70's were pretty hot too!
Yes indeed
I go to the brothel
I'm 72 years old and I still love to hear this. Gets my foot to patting and remembering when I could dance....
😂👌 oh, the accuracy...

Beginning of the 80s Music Videos were a brand new feature. I think the singer played his part low key. I love this song and saw it back in the day. It was very "New Wave" at that time
Well yeah, the song is amazing, the music video for it however is a unique blend of fascinating and terrible lol
this video's iconic
Fantastic song! My favorite part of the song is, On the edge of oblivion
All the world is Babylon
And all the love and everyone
A ship of fools sailing on
I always did wonder what the lead singer was saying at THIS point of the song, looked it up, your version checks out, thanks.
Timeless!.. On the RADIO in NZ in 2023.. cool song! 🎵🇳🇿
New Zealand! One of my favorite countries.
Listening to this , it's almost as though I've magically and literally been whisked away, back to 1986!
No one in my circle knows why I love this song so much… but it’s seriously one of my favorite tracks of all time. I heard it from a commercial in the 2000s

Just a pulsating kick ass piece of music by a band who is top shelf good. Their music is quite addictive.
80's people love this song 💥💥
Yes We Do! 🙂
The 80's were more fun than most people realize🐴

The 80s were created just for fun!! Forgive me this pun!! I simply couldn't resist!

Thank you Wang Chung for creating this wonderful experience
Look into those lyrics. This music brings you back to your youth. That's hard not to love

The eighties were the best decade of my life.
you know everybody is going to say the time period they grew up with was fun... its literally you being young and just having new experiences ..nothing new about that with later generations you still are able to experience previous generation songs ..you tend to have a bigger library to experience really. i was born end of 80's myself but grew up in the 90's
I just noticed that this song has the most beautiful bridge ever! Plus a weird key shift near the end. Love this song!
2:36 definitely one of my favorite parts in any song ever!! so beautiful
Completely agree. Any song. Ever. The bridge has NOTHING to do with the rest of the song. That's one reason it's so memorable. Another reason is all those beautiful Maj7 chords. Gorgeous!
Don't listen to music ever I guess?
@@mplsjockboy Definitely agree that the fact it's so different from the rest of the song is why it sticks out and is so pleasant! Really great composition for a pop tune.

This song was blaring as I walked into my first 7th grade dance in 1986. I was so excited and every time I hear this song in right back to that night. When life was about to get so exciting.

Man...The 80`s are a trove of treasures
That and the 90s are the height of American culture. I've slowly become convinced of this!
@@danielkyavata6233 The 1950's and 1960's were pretty wonderful too.
@@danielkyavata6233 my opinion is the opposite. I think the 80s were great for pop music especially because musicians from non-English countries tried to access Anglophone markets. New Wave, Synthpop, Techno and Eurobeat were pretty much continental European trends that became popular worldwide
