Please let me know who you think wins and please be sure to check out my Broly VS Buu video! Thanks :) ua-cam.com/video/9WN13vNL3Rs/v-deo.html To go over a few comments and "counterguments" 1. "Metro Man is a parody of Superman, so he should win". What? Just because a character is a parody or homage to another doesn't automatically mean they get their same feats and attributes. That's like me saying that Goku could defeat Superman because he scales above Doctor Slump's Suppaman who is clearly a parody of Superman. 2. "We haven't seen Metro Man's full potential." True, but it would be burden of proof to put it anywhere near Omni-Man's level of power. You'd have to make a lot of assumptions. 3. "Red Rush could hurt Omni-Man, so Metro Man could do the same." Just because Red Rush did that doesn't automatically mean Metro Man would fare the same. Again, you'd have to PROVE Metro Man has enough attack potency to do the same thing. 4. "Metro Man is much faster". As I said in the video, I'd love for someone to calculate it high enough to prove it stacks up to Omni-Man. Otherwise, saying he is simply faster without a calculation or some sort of metric, reeks of headcanon.
Omni man has more things going for him because he has more things to look at in general compared to metro man, who only has one movie and pretends, he’s dead for half of it I agree with most of what you’re saying, and I do think Omni man would win, though I would say that durability is up for debate Even if he didn’t tank the attack, megamind shot at him, megamind who knows him best didn’t believe that he would die from that, even after supposedly learning that his weakness is copper I think, based off of that you could get metal means durability easily to star level But there’s different ways you could get Omni man’s durability to that level as well to be honest so it’s debatable, but obviously in an overall fight, Omni man will win
@@King_Zahndo3612 That's true. Oh yeah, speaking of which, I have seen a calculation in Character stats and profiles Involving destroying Viltrum with that level of power, heck, the result of That particular one resulted in Solar System level of about 39.69 FOE. Believe me.. I'm *_Not_* Joking. To which I personally think it's a High End, But I just thought I'd help you with that point.
Its worth mentioning that when Metroman is moving with his superspeed he is walking, which implies this isn't the fastest he can go. Also, we can't really prove whether or not he lacks the durability, strength, or stamina to beat omniman since the only thing we have to go off of is tighten, who is much weaker than Metroman.
Of course that’s if Tighten is weaker than Metroman. Megamind states that he’s given him all his powers never compared him on a power scale. Of course he ran from him in the movie, or what he thought was Metroman, but what should be taken into consideration is the character that is tighten….he’s a bitch that no one worried about because he was harmless.
@@dylangray9531I think it's safe to say Tighten is weaker than Metroman (probably because he only had his powers for a few days), but we can only scale them on speed. The fastest we see Tighten moving is when he broke the sound barrier as he flew away from "Metroman", so assuming his other powers scale the same suggests he is weaker than Metroman. Obviously I'm just assuming that Tighten wasn't as strong as Metroman in other regards and that him flying away was the fastest he could move, but we can't do much else in terms of power scaling since it was only one movie.
@@turtspotato That’s a fair analysis honestly, I think the debate was always gonna be a little fuzzy not just on how little most people know of Omni Man if you’re just looking from the show but also how Metro Man and Tighten were written. Like they were never meant to be characters like Invincible and Omni Man. Their powers are mainly there for comedy or to push the plot. Not as much as looney tunes but he’s just a parody to Superman and the writers never thought much as far as math when it comes to how strong people should be because then why can’t Megamind do anything to them? He’s the smartest brain with fantasy levels of technology and you’re saying nothing he’s invented is good enough? Their powers just aren’t meant to be taken that seriously I mean the movie doesn’t really when you compare how characters react to both figures. Tighten turns evil and everyone worries the city is lost. Omni Man….yeah we’re lucky if the planet is left when he’s done.
Titan wasn't weaker than metro man he was less experienced but also he's a coward so when megamind bluffed him he automatically self sabortaged himself mentally believing that he was being hurt by the fake metro man. Metro man is definately more faster in reaction to omni man but also must take into account that he has no equal in his world and has always held back enormisely and allowed megamind to just be until he felt it was necessary to stop him since he never felt that megamind was actually a bad guy.
I think Metromans speed is just incredible, because not only do we see him basically stop time relative to his speed, its controlled speed. Its not something he had to build up with accelleration, he just has the ability to go multiple times light speed from 0 in an instant with complete control. Omni man just wouldnt even be able to touch him. Metroman might not be able to actually defeat Omniman in a head to head, but Omniman wouldnt even be able to touch Metroman to finish him off either.
@@Juan-st6lh *with acceleration, omniman can't just move that fast from zero....plus how is condensing hours to days of movement into the span of a single second not faster than light?
@@taylorhillard4868 it wasn't days it was more like half+ of a day, I get where you are coming from though. the duration of one frame recorded at 30 frames per second (fps) is 1/30 seconds. To convert 24 hours to seconds, you multiply by 60 (minutes per hour) and 60 (seconds per minute): Metroman's duration = 24 hours * 60 minutes/hour * 60 seconds/minute = 86,400 seconds. Using the average walking speed of 2 miles per hour, we can calculate the distance covered: Distance = Speed * Time = 2 miles/hour * 86,400 seconds = 172,800 miles. Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time Total Distance = Distance covered during Metroman's day = 172,800 miles Total Time = Duration of Metroman's day in real time = 1/30 seconds Average Speed = 172,800 miles / (1/30 seconds) = 5,184,000 miles per second. So the average speed of Metroman is 5,184,000 miles per second. Average Speed = 5,184,000 miles per second * 3600 seconds per hour = 18,622,400,000 miles per hour. Therefore, Metroman's correct average speed is 18,622,400,000 miles per hour. Or sub-relativistic speeds.
We really haven’t seen Metro man at his fullest potential. With the way his character is portrayed, I assume he is similar to Spider-Man or Superman in that he always pulls his punches because he doesn’t want to risk killing anyone, and he enjoys the challenge. I could definitely see him being way more powerful than what we saw on screen
Yes he is comparing a superhero to a supervillain. Superheroes don't destroy cities or planets 😂. Also he is giving whatever refrence he has where Omni man is strongest even from the comics but not showing when he was weak.
@@Rayo_fhop-eAlso, all of those feats are omniman trying his hardest. Meanwhile, during MM's journey, we see him reading a fat stack of books just to show that Metro is taking his sweet time.
Metro Man defies the laws of physics in a much different fashion in comparison to Omni Man. Unlike Omni Man, Metro Man’s speed doesn’t have any effect on his surroundings. There are no explosions or sonic booms caused by his movements. It’s almost as though all time and physics have just completely stopped around him. If anything, he could have been moving at that speed for literal days in his own time.
That’s about the one advantage we know Metro Man has over Omni-Man so far sadly, man I wish we got some kinda comic series around megamind and the rest of the world. I think it would be pretty cool to see
The afterimage is not just an afterimage. It's a red and blue afterimage, which I believe is their attempt to show him Red and Blue Shifting. It's a phenomenon that happens with light, as you approach the speed of light, photons ricochet off you unevenly. This means the light bouncing off you as you move away doesn't have as much momentum coming back to the viewer so it stretches the wavelengths and turns red and the opposite for moving towards you, compressing the wavelengths and turning the light blue. In order to show this at all, our own perspective has to be shifted much closer to the speed of light, which means Metroman is insanely close to breaking the speed of light, inside a planets atmosphere. Omniman never shows this kind of speed in the series, and only comes close in space with no gravitational forces being applied to him.
Ngl that scene with metroman using his super speed to go soul searching was one of the coolest scenes in any dream works movie regardless of who wins this fight.
easily one of the best uses of the slow mo super speed ever. Metroman literally goes from being a hero who just mindlessly follows his everyday tasks to figuring out who he wanted to be, and it all happened right under our noses, which shows just how truly quick it happened.
@@theripper9858doesn't need to be powerful to have impact, look at the flash show. Flash arguably galaxy power level and he struggles catching a normal human with icegun.
It's important to note that metroman was literally rethinking his life in that single instant, he did not rush anything and really thought it through. We should probably take note the massive thinking capability that would take. He could not just react to something that approaches the speed of light, he would literally take a shower then dodge that strike. Thinking that flying very fast could somehow go against someone who could think very fast is underestimating what information could do in a battle
Even if metro mans reaction time is that high it wouldnt matter, theres such a speed difference that metroman in his "slow state" would see omni mans max speed as we would see something significantly faster than light. Its just that 1 sided metro man vs omni man is like an unborn fetus vs the biggest nuclear bomb to date
@@thatonestrangerwholikestop866 i dont think the speed difference is that crazy though; he THOROUGHLY thought his life over in that little tiny moment. that couldve been anywhere from 5-30 minutes. lets give you the benefit of the doubt and say it was 5 minutes of thinking, in that one tiny moment. He could easily react to omnimans max speed, assuming that omni-man doesnt move at such speeds where 5 minutes to him is a literal fraciton of a second to others?
Omni-Man's reaction time scales with the speed at which he moves. Metro Man's doesn't scale. Metro Man, recognizing that this isn't Megamind he's fighting, would probably essentially freeze time in order to analyze Omni Man. He could eventually figure out his Viltrumite weakness to certain sound pitches. It is also reasonable to assume that if this is Omni Man from early on in the show, Metro Man could damage him, as even Red Rush, a human who moved fast, could damage him admittedly at high cost to himself. Metro Man could pelt Omni Man with every rock on Earth in an instant to take him down before Nolan would even realize he's dealing with someone who can move fast.
Not many people noticed this, but if you slow down the movie to the max you can see that while Megamind was doing his speech through the screen at the beginning of the movie, Metroman went behind him for a very brief moment and then returned where he was without anyone noticing it. So he knew already where Megamind really was and pretended to be unware of it.
While we never really see the full extent of Metroman's power, mainly cause there's nothing in his own universe that could really challenge him, the speed feat really gives us everything we need to know. The fact that he moved so fast that a *literal second* of time seemingly lasted an entire day for him blows anything Nolan can do out of the water, mainly cause of the fact that he was *walking* , reading, reminiscing and eating food while completely unworried about his stamina or the time he was wasting. Implying he can go *much* faster and for *much longer* if he really wanted to. Also, since his body alredy has to have the durability to not fly apart while going that fast, he's alredy pretty much comparable to a Viltrumite. Also Hal really isn't comparable to Metroman. Yeah, he has all his powers, but they're clearly either bootleg versions or Hal ,being the shithead he is, really just didn't put any real effort into actually mastering them, the latter being the more likely one. Now, granted, Nolan has an *insurmountable* advantage in pure experience. Not only has the guy been around for thousands of years, but he knows how to fight and kill other Viltrumites or people of a similar level, so it wouldn't take him very long to figure out that Metroman isn't used to fighting with someone in the same weight class as him and use that to his advantage.
Then there's one more thing. If this guy can rethink his entire life far faster than the speed of light. What if he constantly goes at that speed to grow through thousands of just within a day.
I feel like it should be noted that Metroman's best feats were shown to barely drain him, as he shows to not even break a sweat during the time-stop feat. This means that what he's doing here isn't even close to his full power and full potential, as he was never shown to train either. Additionally, he has no known weaknesses. Though I do think this is a great analysis and a great video! :D
This just isn’t fair, Metro Man is a character from a single film with a few spinoffs meanwhile Omni Man is a character from a comic series that has years worth of stories. Of course his feats are just gonna put him on a whole other level. This is the ultimate example of how important history is for scaling.
and its even more unfair as metro man already overpowers omni man and he only has one movie and that he decided to pursue his music career into of being a hero
Why would that follow? Metro Man is kind of like a parody character and those characters can often have crazy feats that defy logic for amusement. You might even say he has an unfair advantage.
@@drico2688 Oh that 100% is where this is a huge factor. It’s why Marvel and DC characters tend to stomp most characters simply because they have so much history.
Not seconds. He did all that before Megamind could blind. A blink is between 0.1 and 0.4 seconds. Metroman did something that would take days, or weeks or maybe even years, in the span of less than half a second.
No, it was definitely a fraction of a second. I think literally just a frame or two in the movie, and most movies run at 24 frames a second, so it would be a maximum of 1/12th of a second to consider his life, which is frankly insane.
The issue is that comics (and the show) are never consistent. In one moment, Omni-Man is clearly faster than sound and able to basically teleport because he's so fast. Then in another scene, he's so slow that humans can react to his movements. It's never consistent.
@@Chuck yo Chuck, will you ever do anything on Seven Deadly Sins? Really like how you did this video, it was so obvious that lack of feat meant a loss for Metro Man. We know he did say he doesn't have any weakness, but we can't scale off that when nothing has actually hit him. Will love to see how you scale Seven Deadly Sins, especially Ban, Meliodas and Merlin. Have a great day +1 sub
@@coreywilson7326 I shouldn’t have to explain this to you. If someone moves at the speed of light, then they will appear to teleport. That is clearly what I was saying. If Omni-Man was as fast as Metro-Man, then he could instantly appear anywhere on Earth. Yet we never see him do this. Which shows how much insanely faster Metro Man is.
Omni-Man wins however, the Metroman speed feat is actually much quicker than you think. If you go earlier in the movie when Megamind is talking to Metroman while hes trapped while the civilians watch on, you see Metroman disappear for a frame while Megamind is speaking. That is when he goes to rethink his life, not while the laser fires and is about to hit the observatory. Just thought I'd mention that even though the outcome doesn't change.
this is the thing about metroman, a part of a single needle of his blood is transferred to the barnyard guy and looking at it, he can already omni man and that is just one needle mind you. Making metroman's power unknown and that is terrifying of just how powerful this guy if he wants to pursue his powers better than his music career
Just one small question: Why would Metro man ever need to use anymore power than he was using? He could simply be holding back, like his inspiration Superman.
metro man was depressed during his speed feat, meaning he could be even faster. also tighten got his powers from metro man’s fake skeleton. So the dna he got the powers from are simply fingerprints and possible sweat. Metro man must be at least a hundred times stronger than tighten
@@frosttyrant9222 he isn't holding back, at the speed he was moving in the movie he would have killed the people he passed by. Bro has speedforce or something
It's a real shame we didn't get to see much of Metro man, he just never got the opportunity to show much of anything off. The only argument I could see for him not being super crazy is that his planet was wiped out by a black hole. Not a ton of detail on that, he was just sent off because they were in the process of being swallowed.
You were never supposed to see big feats from him because the audience was expected to already understand who he is, he's superman. He's a depressed parody version, but he's clearly supposed to be superman, so just scale him to that. I assume superman beats omni man, so metro man beats him too.
@@stephengrigg5988 This is indeed a matter of the point of a character scaling them. Metro-man is more powerful than he needs to be in his own universe because he is supposed to be unstoppable, godlike. Superman but even Superman has a weakness or two. Metro-man likely stomps Nolan because he is Metro-man. His powers were given not to be tested or limited but to convey the story wherein he is literally untouchable.
The only argument I could see for him not being super crazy is that his planet was wiped out by a black hole. That's because he's a parody of superman.
Techincally Tighten doesn't have Metromans powers, his powers were created to replicate Metroman, but we have to keep in mind, that Megamind never saw Metromans full power. He is likely much weaker.
I agree, however metroman's dna was used to create titan. Even though metroman is likely much stronger, we could probably get an idea of how physically strong metroman is based on titans strength feats.
Titan does have his Powerset, it was literally created from Metro Man's DNA and reconfigured in order to be able to give someone on Earth that energy, it's so potent that it continues as constantly existing energy which is how Megamind was able to stop Hal.
we also never see Tighten feel anything hitting him or take damage aside from emotional. The fact that large hits can send him flying through buildings means nothing, because we know that Tighten still doesn't know how to fly or use his powers properly. He never once flinches, blinks, or is affected by anything anyone throws at him or happens. We also know that Hal is a massive creep and coward, so if there was the possibility of anything in the Universe harming him, he wouldn't be so careless.
👏 THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP!! There is no physical way to make a fight like this to another without proper context or scalable feats for both characters first.
This is definitely a problem of the lack of feats that Metro Man has. I do feel like Metro Man not trying at all during the entire movie gives me a similar vibe to Saitama where there are no feats to scale to anything high, but you can tell the nature of the character has something to do with their power. I feel like Metro Man would have low key toon force
The character is supposed to be the perfect super man copy, he has 0flaws, no hint of evil just a good guy, and can do anything the plot needs to save the day, that’s what the soul searching was about, he was the perfect hero, but he never thought about what he wanted to do as a person
@@Spearmint22425 Man is a gag character, and inherently gag characters aren't written with limitation, rather they tend to be pushed to do things that don't make sense.
While I do not disagree, the thing is that we never saw the ceiling of Metroman's durability or strength. We do have confirmation that he is THAT fast in terms of reaction and function, since his speed feat was in fuctioning and thinking. He never gets hurt and never truly exerts himself in any way.
NEVER ground anything on the travel speeds of comic characters. Comics tend to drastically underestimate the vastness of the universe. Even Iron Man was (without any warp drive technology) able to travel faster than light. Not because the writers wanted to give him that power but because it fit the story better if he traveled to neptune in a few minutes instead of years. Same goes for Omni man. If comic writers would acknowledge the vastness of the Universe there would not be such comics.
This feels a little unfair to compare a character who is possibly planetary to a character who barely showed any feats. But either way, this video is great.
Dreamworks sees this as a challenge and writes Metroman to be old enough to see multiple universes form and only takes the form he does as a fraction of his power to experience a civilizations life before going back to something stronger
Omni man isn't possibly planetary, he IS planetary. *spoiler* Him, Mark, Thadeus, and i don't know who else destroys planet viltrum by flying through it.
@@Appri But Omniman can't just bust a hole through a planet ALL himself, he needed the help of Invincible and Thadeus. But the closest thing I've seen him be planetary is that he can end civilizations in a few minutes. Like in the show where he demolished the alien race that ages quicker, idk what they're called.
The problem with the speed comparison is ... I'm not sure Metroman was actually using super-speed per say, like... he was moving around casually, standing in place at times eating a burger... without stirring so much as a mild breeze at those around him during those brief moments in time that he stretched out into a whole "rethink all your life choices and read some books about it" montage. For all we know Metroman actually slowed time, much like how superman in the 1st movie was able to Reverse time and go back a day simply by traveling around the planet several rotations. In short, Metroman's speed feat operates so... differently from how we understand normal physics and simply 'going really fast' would interact that we cant readily draw any conclusions on how that power actually operates. Other than the fact that it's a complete cheat. I mean it makes it pretty obvious that Metro-man could have defeated Megamind anywhere, anytime he wanted and he was literally getting bored with the whole thing. We do know the following: In this hyper-mode he's able to move and interact with objects... There's no reason to assume he cant do the same with living things but obviously Metroman would avoid doing that since he is, in the end, a good guy. While in hypermode he's got perfect control over his own actions, no appreciable loss of precision or power. The above premise means that, at the minimum. Omni man would have the same issue getting to hurt Metro-man that he had with Red Rush, only much more so and even if he did catch him there's no guarantee that Omni-man could just squish him, in fact that is highly unlikely and considering that Red Rush's punchy barrage alone was able to leave some serious bruises... Metro-man could do that and better with relative ease. The core problem with this vs comparison in general is that we simply have much too few feats or proper demonstrations of Metro man's full capabilities, the one feat he does of going hyper-speedy however already makes it clear that his powers do not answer nor give an eff about conventional physics at all where Omni-man's abilities do. Thus until we see Omni-man manage casual super-speed feats that outpace Red Rush, let alone come close to Metro Man's... I dont see how any final conclusions on this contest can be made other than the fact that Metro-man has Omni-man beaten cold in terms of super-speed. Even if we say that Omni-man can react and interact at the space-faring speeds he's been at in the comics... That's not really in the same ballpark as being able to casually walk around, grab a hot dog and go read some books from the library, rethink your life, go swipe a fake skeleton from the nearby school to set up your faux death and get back to replace yourself with the faux bones and costume all in the time it takes some kind of sun-powered energy beam (be it particle, plasma or laser it still went from orbit to ground in moments. So yeah, at best Omni-man could never catch Metro-man unless the latter wanted to be caught. And if he did we honestly dont know how they would compare in terms of brute strength or ability to resist harm. And Titan really does not work for comparisons because, again, look at the speed feat Metro-man did, if Titan was even a miniscule fraction of that level of power there's just nothing that Megamind could have done, he would have been turned into a wet smear the instant he showed himself in line of sight. That did not happen though, in fact where Titan was fleeing as hard as he could, thinking it was Metro-man chasing him.... Not-Metro-man was keeping up! Thus it can be safely concluded that the two are not remotely in the same league. Presumably Titan's abilities might represent what Metro-man was capable of when he was freshly arrived on earth, growing exponentially stronger over time. That or being infused into a human body simply put a hard-cap on how much of a power boost was possible. In fact, Titan's demonstrated abilities Do compare not so poorly with what Mark was capable of for most of season one, except Mark couldnt lift the upper half of a collapsing building where Titan was able to use a comparable structure as a missile weapon... Huh.
My thoughts exactly. This video is way too biased in favor of Omni man. It doesn't take into account just how little we know about Metro man. And what little we did see of him was actually really impressive as you explained pretty well.
@@dxmxdomo Yup, and honestly one of the points I made really stands out. Titan is basically a Weaker version of Metroman, yet he is able to pick up a big hunk of building and throw it as a missile weapon. Meanwhile Invincible at the end of season one could not hold up the upper half of a much smaller building to save multiple lives... It's pretty obvious that Titan is considerably stronger after a few weeks of being empowered than Mark is after months, half a year or more that season one takes place over. Add in Metroman's speed feat which Omni-man doesnt even come remotely close to equaling at any point in the series (no flying at high speeds through open space is not the same as moving That fast in an atmosphere around people while causing no noticable side effects for his surroundings). So really we do not know enough to make a particularly well informed decision but if we Are forced to make a guess, based on what we have to work with, then Metroman is the clear winner.
We do actually have better evidence of the timeframe for Metroman's speed feat. During the crowd shot with the two on screen in the observatory scene, he actually vanishes for a few framesat most at the moment we later see him wander off, meaning he did everything but actually fake his death in the span of maybe .1 of a second at the absolute most. I couldn't find the actual number of frames. On a sidenote, he creates no sonic boom and causes no damage to the people around him or the objects he interacts with, meaning he's capable of negating numerous physical effects he'd otherwise have on his surroundings to a far greater degree than we see from someone like Quicksilver in the X-Men films. Edit: Forgot to say, this isn't to say anything against your analysis, just to provide a bit more detail on where those speed calculations came from for anyone watching who wasn't aware.
assuming the satilite fires a beam at 0.8c from geosynchronous orbit, metro man had 0.1492 seconds to spend an entire day at a relaxed pace. he was shown to be able to casually travel about 4 meters in 5 frames (0.21s visible to us) when dashing allready in super speed, so that makes him casually able to move casually at 19m/s relative to the time slowwed. i'll assume he spent 12 hours (43200s) of his time in that one frame. this gives us a ratio of him moving at 289544.55 times normal speed. knowing that he was able to go 19m/s casually during that, it can be multiplied out to 5,501,346m/s being a casual, relaxed movement speed for him. an equivalent movement speed consideered casual for humans is perhaps 2m/s, with running being maybe 6m/s. assuming the difference is linear, metro man could move 16,504,038 m/s
@@empressofmadness He didn't rethink his life when the beam was fired though it was somewhat before. Google it and you can find the scene when he's on the big screen waiting for Megamind to fire the laser where he disappears for a single frame. That's when he did all that. That being said it still implies he somehow managed to snag a fake skeleton and put his cape on it in a very very short amount of time.
Considering how casual metro man is about his powers I don’t think anyone could scale him as there’s no stress test or any point where he fights back. I’m pretty certain that he could be much stronger or even weaker than our high balls and low balls but I think we would need to at least know what the dimensional hole was that made them leave their individual planets. That would at least let us figure out the average for his species unless of course it was benign
But I mean, the difference from city level to continental-planetary levels is insane. Just because he's casual at those lower levels doesn't mean he would automatically stack up against higher levels of power.
@@Chuck didn’t megamind create a “hero” thats around city level based off of metroman’s dandruff? So what does that mean? It could be thats the latent power in the dandruff or metromans damaged DNA maybe it’s something different but I think that scene is a litttle overlooked
@@Chuck I should also say that I don’t really care that much about this outside of the thought experiment of “real” vs “concept” and the rationale that people put behind their thoughts
@@Chuck It doesn't mean MEtroman wins, no. It does mean you literally don't know how far up MEtroman scales. Your assumption is one of incredulity that is immediately contradicted by your points about Omniman: You say, "Wow, it's just unreasonable to assume Metroman scales up this far. Omniman scales up this far!" The only reason it could be unreasonable to assume Metroman scales up to any degree is if you are assuming "nobody" could do so. But Omniman clearly does, so _somebody_ can. And if somebody can, it is not reasonable to _assume_ Metroman cannot. The only basis for such an assumption is a desire to declare Omniman the victor. I want to emphasize, again, that I'm not arguing that Metroman wins, or that it's a tie, or _any_ outcome of the fight. I am arguing that we lack sufficient data to make a judgment. Metroman's power limitations are entirely unknown, because we have no feats that he struggles with, no point where stress even begins to show. He could start showing stress at the point where depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds start hitting him, or at the point where a super-speeder starts punching him repeatedly (though we know such a speedster must go EVEN FASTER than we see Metroman do in the time-stop scene), or he might not show stress when shoving the solar system around by flying through the Sun. We just don't know.
I would like to point out that Metroman actually did all that life rethinking stuff not in the time it took for the sun beam to hit him, but in the flicker of a millisecond shown on the city projectors during their initial confrontation right after Megamind says "FIRE!"
Metro man did that speed feat while WALKING, reading, eating, thinking, strolling through town, and this was all controlled and without the need of acceleration. And when he did “run” between events it was like he had super speed even on top of his already time stopping “walking” speed. This is near teleportation levels of speed
We don't know how strong Metro Man is, he never even break a sweat. 6:50 he did it ina less than a second, you can see in the movie his image flickers for a second, implying he did all of that fast enough the chamera wasn't fast enough to see him leave and come back to the exact same pose. You lowballed him so much the entire argument falls apart. Also rememmber, doing that was effortles for him, he had time to drink something, read a book, walk around and rething his whole life.
He explained it later with the "burden of proof" bit. But I can understand your sentiment since I somewhat feel like Metroman never went all-out. So, he could put up a fight at least.
Omni Man has strength feats that are quintillions of times stronger (destroying planet volt run by flying through it) and has speed feats that are billions of times faster than Metro Man (flying to another galaxy within a week). It is ridiculous to suggest that Metro Man can perform these feats without any evidence.
@@LL-ks7ex *Sigh* Where did we even imply anything like that? When did we state that he can do all that Omni Man can? Literally the entire thing is what the guy said in the video and that is "Burden of Proof". We do not know much about Metro man nor did we state that he is as powerful and as capable as Omni Man on the same exact things that he was doing. If your future replies are going to be pointlessly "aggressive" arguments based on what you think we have said, I won't bother replying to you again. I will say the following though. I am tired of people finding and/or creating excuses to mock and start senseless and one sided debates, where there is *no one* arguing or even had argued with their points, in the first place! Just because of the premise, your safe net card, being that you simply misunderstand, doesn't mean people won't call you out on being an arse for it. Literally no one is arguing Omni Man's feats in this particular thread (except for you) , so why even bother writing that comment? All that was said, was about Metro Man being able to put out a decent fight at best and we are being generous as hell. We know that Omni Man is Over Powered and that he will win against Metro Man. But the "Burden of proof" makes it impossible to tell just by how much. That's what *I* want to know, at the very least.
@@LL-ks7ex Dude, Metro man is a character that is comedically strong, we have no idea how far his power goes, he could be as strong as superman as far as we know which already puts him above omni man if this conversation was serious, which is not. Not to mention we never saw Omniman put the most minimal amount of effort in anything, not his speed feat, not surviving the solar explosion, nothing. Im gonna keep saying Metro Man would whipe the floor with Omniman's ass.
The neat part is that it's *not* his main thing. His speed is simply an afterthought in his arsenal and Megamind clearly didn't even know about it. He's meant to be a parody of Superman and his speed isn't one of the things people first think about when they think of him, meaning if he can move this fast without even trying, his other abilities are so held back that it's not even comparable.
@@skeletonofflavor2716 Just saying, that's a feat that looks like it's straight out of an anime. Not everyone can do a calf flex but I'll bet the video downplays his strength and I understand that there's too little information about him but then come on, I've seen the calculation on his speed and it's very much watered down. This man retaught his life and read books in the library in less time than is perceivable. that's something on par with flash saving, reading books on architecture, engineering and construction and rebuilding a house before the police arrive. This just seems like "that's just only a fraction of my power" kind of thing. Think about it, I doubt Omni man can make any noticeable effect by flexing his biceps
@@whatidoknow3417 Watch the video and look up the no limits fallacy. If I remember correctly, this video put Metroman at city block level. But even a multi-city block level Metroman wouldn't be able to do shit against even an early series Omniman, much less the planetary menace he becomes. And if you've seen calculations for Metromans speed that put him anywhere near the billions x FTL that Omniman can reach, I'd love to see them

it’s definitely hard to scale MM since the most we got was his speed feat (we dont know if he is at his max speed since he seems to not be struggling to reach it nor is he needing time to reach it) and we only get to see a fraction of his power in Titan so its hard, but in theory MM could solo
So if you have nothing then maybe don't actively downplay mm; give him feats of weak characters, then come to the conclusion that Omni Man wins regardless of mm's feats.
@@RainInTheSummer where's the evidence? Allen can travel solar systems and galaxies, and its stated he can fight at those speeds as well, and then he gets multiple amps and is still weaker and slower than omni-man, plus omni-man travelled to a different galaxy in like a week pre multiple amps. Metroman has shown nothing on that level.
Completely underestimated Metro Man. You can't scale Metro Man, who is pretty much a God, to Hal, who had no fighting experience and only had his powers for maybe 2 days max. Saying that Omni-Man comes anywhere near to Metro Man's speed is a complete waste of time, as Metro Man went from 0 to Sub-speed of light levels. Obviously, he wasn't moving faster as the light was able to enter the observatory as he opened the doors, but he still went from 0 to basically as fast as physically possible. Not to mention that Metro Man was WALKING and SITTING while time around him was pretty much still. It's another case of the "Hero" (I quote hero as Megamind is the main character/hero of the story) being so powerful that nothing can come close to challenging them. While we see Omni-Man moving very, very fast, it doesn't change the fact that Metro Man could have easily gone much, much faster if he wanted to, but he didn't, because he wasn't fighting anyone who could compare to him, he was revising his life. Omni-Man vs Metro Man isn't close, because Metro Man completely outmatches Omni-Man, in both speed and durability (Metro Man doesn't immediately explode and ignite into flames when going from 0 to pretty much the speed of light). You have made a completely one-sided argument, and thus here is your opposing side. So who do you think would win, some guy who deflected an asteroid with help from his son or someone who can go from 0 to light-speed and not immediately be reduced to absolutely nothing? I could go on and on but I can't be bothered and I also need some sleep.
Metro Man definitely takes it, if we factor his speed then he's definitely able to produce greater impacts of force than omni man. Red rush had the strength of a regular human but his speed is what increased his destructive force & damaged omni can causing internal bleeding. This seems like one of those things where you oppose popular opinion just to do so, even if it's right.
Brother, he went on a journey to find himself, for god knows HOW long, IN THE FRACTION OF A SECOND IT TOOK THE LASER TO HIT HIM. That man is so absurdly fast that time had essentially stopped from his perspective while he just walked around and THOUGHT, which means that not only is he so infinitely fast that time essentially stops for him, he can also think at these same speeds, essentially he pick up Omniman and gently carry him into the sun before Omniman even comprehends his existance, this is not a contest by far.
when you realise that moving so fast time stops is only a lightspeed feat, retard he used his speed before megamind actually fired the laser, there is a single frame of him flickering and appearing behind megamind, shut yo
TL:DR at the end, but i really recomend reading @@Chuck its impossble to know, metroman's scene had to be compiled to a flashback, and quite lengthy considering how fast he was moving, and also not even really trying to, and ALSO, metroman's power seem to scale infinitely with time, considering he was already super strong as a baby to fly around carrying a couch and a person with no struggle, knows how much his powers have grown by that age if hal with only a couple of days was already breaking sound barriers and throwing giant buildings like a small tree branch. I feel its only safe to say metroman is absolutely unbeatable, after all thats a main part of his character, he got bored, he actually just genuinely decided to stop because there was no point to it Not even saitama did that, and in saitama's universe there were other characters that could much likely take care of whatever threat there is. And as for omni-man, we know he's limited, thats why we follow and watch, we want to see where he breaks, because we know he does. Tldr: metroman's whole character is literally being unbeatable at near 0% effort, thats why he even decided to become a musician, it's safe to say learning how to play guitar is more of a challenge to him than beating omni-man would be
I honestly wouldn't bother with this sort of match up. We never see Metro Man struggle with anything, nor does he ever do anything that showcases his physical limits. For all we know Metro Man could punch Omni-Man through Jupiter. There's a lack of knowledge to scale it from.
I also like the explanation that Metromans strength basically scales to infinity, as this is what he was made for. He is a perfect hero with perfect abilities and strength beyond the physical capabilities of any evil. This guess of how strong Metroman is is very meta, but it makes sense
Man, I think you mean “Superman”. Nothing ever suggests that Metro Man has infinite strength, actually, besides his super speed and being >>> Tighten, he didn’t do anything remotely impressive to compare him to Omni Man, the same guy who stopped a meteor x2 the size of Texas, fought planetary level threats, speedblitzed the Guardians of the Globe (in comics), flew lightyears away from Earth and has thousands of years as a warrior
I do agree with this take, but the only thing we know for sure is that he scales to Superman because that's who he's a parody of and they went out of their way to tell us he lacks Superman's weaknesses in every way.
@@mrvenom6744we never see metro man exert himself at all, I think it is very likely he is infinitely strong and fast as that really seems to be what he is made for.
@user-ff6dl9zr7u If you guys are talking about the lazer at the beginning of the movie, then you could scale him to it. Megamind, the creator of the beam, didn't even think it was enough to hurt metro man. Roxanne (i believe that is the girls name) also didn't believe it would hurt him which is why the only reason he was able to fake his own death was because he pretended that copper was his weakness. He pretended that it drained all his powers.
@@lewis213b7 she knew him well, since he had to save her so much. But, my main point was megamind anyway. I just threw in Roxane because i didn't want people to say Roxanne also said that, when i already know.
I think Metro Man is not taken very seriously in terms of destructiveness, even though you have the Titan to wide open as it wouldn't be easy for Omni Man.
nice breakdown on the topic. Unfortunately, you failed to mention Metro mans second form Music man. With the powerups he gets when in Music man form, i would say he would destroy omniman, maybe not instantly but Music man would clap omniman no problem
Metroman is superman without the overbearing weaknesses that nerf him,and if you were to see superman without the information so the scaling kinda doesn't work due to lack of actual information, I'd say it would be more a kin to saying we have no actual information so he wins by default which is sort of a faulty argument, because if there was no actual information on omniman you would be in the same situation.
THANKS YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP, I always hated the "Metro man had a mid crisis in a frame, so he must outright kill Omniman before he noticed" like mate, Comicbook character are regularly a Billion time faster then light, like that won't work against him. AND THAT IS NOT EVEN BRINGING UP IF METRO MAN CAN EVEN HURT OMNI MAN
On the other hand, there is nothing in the Megamind Universe that can even give cause for Tighten or Metroman to blink or need to make effort, the only damage they can take is emotional. The low powerlevel of Megamindverse means they are completely invulnerable. The Megamind Universe just doesn't have anything we can use to compare to the hard hitters in the Invincible-verse.
Well red rush did hurt him with a 100 punches so I’m sure he can hurt him and I’m pretty sure Omni man perception is not faster than light as the most red rush can do is slow down peoples talking and Run real fast and it had him looking around like somebody called his name. Omni man is fast then light but perception and combat speed doesn’t equal reaction and travel speed
Already, at the speed comparison, the guy's stating the opposite. Megamind was literally in a freeze frame when Megaman was walking around the observatory. Not only that, HE WAS WALKING. Not jogging, not running. He was just casually walking around, sitting still, reading a book. Contemplating about his life in the time it took for that laser beam to reach the building . Not only that, if the weapon fired at the speed of light, it would mean that sonic-speed ain't gonna cut it...not even by a percent. And physics tells that normal atoms, and humans, so to speak, cannot move at such speeds due to the incredible amount of G-force they'll experience. They'll burn up or turn to mush the moment they do that themselves. So Megamind already has one heck of a durability. Sure, invincible could fly towards Antarctica in a matter of a minute, but whose to say someone who can literally extend a second to milliseconds without gaining speed, and walk around, still have time to read a book at normal pace, then contemplate about life can't do better? With that ability, he probably doesn't need to pick-up speed, he'd just instantly be there. And F=mc squared. Imagine taking a punch from a guy that can blitz in an instant? And the amount of force you would need to apply to stop yourself at such speeds is fucking enormous. Whilst Megamind's world is less logical than Omniman, clearly due to this event, because if someone where to move at such speed, the world would've already been fucked right now. If a meteor the size of a city can wipe all life on planet, what about a being that's moving fast enough to almost freeze time without picking up speed? A step from a monster like that would be enough to punch a hole through the crust or maybe destroy the planet completely. That's something that's moving billions of times faster than sound, mind you. So with that, Megaman clearly has the strength, the durability, and the speed to take on someone like Omniman. And a reason why Omniman can't fly fast inside planets is due to physics. If you've seen what a jet can leave behind when they're near the ground, imagine something that travels faster than light, and then suddenly stops mid-flight. Without even touching the ground, that would be enough to fuck-up the crust through and through. And for something to withstood such force from the immediate stop, clearly makes Omniman way stronger than many of you describe him to be. But is he stronger? I honestly, do not know. There's not enough information about how far Megaman can go due to his story not being as flesh out as Omni's. But, hypothetically speaking, Megaman would just finger flick Omniman out of existence. Take that Laser Beam that fires a beam at lightspeed for example. There's a similar thing to in the animated version of Omniman. Both withstood that attack, but Metroman literally had more than enough time to move out of the way and do that scene, and I believe he also took that beam like a boss too, unlike Omniman. Mind you, if you so as to bump with Megaman at such speed, you are not gonna be in this world, my friend. Him being able to control each of his steps, movements, etc so much to prevent anything from him around from being disintegrated is one heck of a feat. Remember, a car doesn't stop immediately from a high speed after pushing the brakes. This guy manages to carefully slow down the speed of his movements that he doesn't' even leave a single broken material. If Megaman were to be a villain, the movie wouldn't even exist. He'd just lay his foot on the ground and obliterate the planet.
what's the point of all the strength skill and experience you have if your opponent can dodge your attacks without any effort? also, you gotta understand that more speed = more destructive power. one speed of light punch is 2800 times more powerful than Hiroshima nuclear bomb and considering metro man is far faster than speed of light I'd say he'd demolish Omni-Man. this fight is equivalent to the most skilled fighter in the world against a guy with ak 47.
Yeah I’m just gonna copy-paste my other reply to you here too, YOU gotta understand speed. If we take real-life physics into account, Metro-Man simply moving at the speed he is, is impossible. Even ignoring that, him moving at such large speeds would cause gigaton-level explosions in every direction; he could literally move a single mm and blow up the entire city due to his massive kinetic energy. His movement against the air particles would cause an area of compression/high pressure such that everyone around for several miles would be vaporised. Does that happen? NO. Very clearly not. Not even a sonic boom is shown. This film and this scene clearly don’t take these into account, therefore we can’t just say he can weaponise his speed when, under normal circumstances of using them, nothing happens. The claim that he could bend the law of physics for when it suits him, i.e. randomly turning on the effects of kinetic energy for when he wants to punch stuff, is injudicious and disingenuous at best. I actively study physics at a college level, so there’s no need to try one up me on science stuff here like I’m an idiot. We NEED feats from Metro-Man, in terms of striking, lifting, durability, etc, for him to be relevant to Omni-Man at all. Listen, I can bs my way through this as much as anyone can, but I can do so for Omni-Man. He can travel at trillions of times the speed of light in space; the vacuum of space has subatomic particles called neutrinos everywhere, moving through space through them is nothing special. However, considering his immense speed, the durability Omni-man has to withstand colliding with neutrinos across the vacuum means any FTL hits from Metro-Man can’t do shit anyway. See how it works?
@@ates6600 exactly my point. Hence why Metro Man isn’t fucking everything up moving. Physics won’t apply to his punches being stronger due to higher velocity. Simple.
Never have I heard it argued thatba laser isn't light speed. I like your stuff man and I'm not even a power scaler but even I can tell Metroman was grossly downplayed here

Although I don't disagree with the fact that Omni-Man win, what I want to point out is that people are right in this case as in if someone is fast enough he can easily kill anyone even if their durabilitily is way higher, why? Because of the way the Power formula work.
I think the speed of light comparison is a funny one; an object needs to be massless like light to move that fast. Theoretically, physical objects would increase in mass the closer they got to lightspeed until they reached infinite mass, which would require infinite energy to move, so any superhero that can move at lightspeed would require infinite energy. Effectively making any lightspeed reaching character godlike beings with infinite power.
Basic science that will explain to you why Metro-Man (and all speedsters) are OP. If you divide the change in Metro-Man's speed by time you get his acceleration (which we will need later). It is pointless to do the math because we have no comparison to anything. He moves and thinks so fast, he virtually stops time. And he needs no previous acceleration, its almost instant. Now, knowing his acceleration is basically absurdly high due to the fact he goes from 0 to infinite speed in no time at all, and stops time... (which is unachievable by travelling at any possible speed because time is a constant, so he would need to travel at an impossible speed. Infinite.) We can go to the next point. If you multiply acceleration by mass, you get FORCE. So basically INFINITY x Mass = Infinity. This means, Metro-Man's strength is infinite as long as he uses it while travelling at his max speed. He could basically end existance in one punch.
I still lean towards metroman with the speed feat, but have to agree that even then it wouldn’t be enough when dealing with Omniman overall. Really the only thing that could give it to metroman is if the creators said they have metro man be a parody of golden age superman and match up with him, meaning even as a parody metro man maybe could’ve replicated Superman’s sneezing planets away feat. However, at that point that’s just more so headcanon.
Omni-man is consistently city / mountain level except for the one feat of busting a planet ( that they could only do with an unstable core & needed the help of two other Viltrumites ). Calling him moon / planet level is hilarious wank.
@@tsunderegod2920 They Still destroyed it and they survived the explosion it caused with only being knocked out for a moment. So it's not an outlier or wank. Saying Omni-Man is City to Mountain level consistently is either low ball or even Downplay.
I would argue that Metroman doesn't has super speed, but capable of stopping or at least greatly slowing time. I would assume so because we don't see or hear any shockwaves when he moves around while he rethinks his life. This of course would scale his powers and ability to defeat Omniman very much in his favour
I noticed the more cartoony a series is, the more likely it is to be extremely powerful. One Punch Man is cartoony AF, even more so with Dragon Ball and comics. I have no idea what's going on with Bleach or Devil May Cry, but shows like The Boys, Attack on Titan, The Witcher, or Berserk aren't all that in comparison
Yes, thabk you. Finally a video on this debate that actually shows prove and uses actual scaling instead of just relying on headcannons. Though I did always wondered why this matchup even became popular to begin with. Other than the obvious supernan clone connection, the comparison always felt odd to me since I don't see metroman being pitted against the likes of Homelander or Brightburn as commonly with omniman. Well, anyways yes Omniman should realistically stomp really hard. Always hated the idea of "we don't this characters full potential so he can definitely be much more powerful than this etc". I could just similarly twist this argument and say that we don't know Omniman's full potential since viltrumites have already been established to grow stronger the more their limits are tested. Even with just the show feat Omniman does comparatively have much higher AP and Durability due to deflecting a meteor the size of texas or surving that huge satelite explosion so Metroman is still not scratching Omniman either ways.
unless you know science and realize that force is relative to speed x mass.. omini man gets vaporized even if metro man had normal human strength when going that fast.
@@emm6101 If Metro man is getting the "speed = strength cuz science-y things and stuff" treatment then it would only be fair to do the same to Omni-Man. Other wise, it wouldn't really be fair. But ur all Metro fans so ofc you're not going to give do the same for Nolan.🙄 I mean, He's not Metro man, so who cares, right? 😁💢
@@emm6101 moreover, it we are adding adding speed to their ap, then punching with normal human strength with Metroman's speed at most would only destroy some city block or town. Compare that to Omniman deflecting a Texas sized meteor which can calc up to being continental or moon level. So Metroman's atempt on punching Omniman is going to break his arm instead and that's only taking show feats for Omniman. He is much stronger and faster in the comics.
"guy who literally has no idea how strong Y characters is makes video about why X character wins against Y character, even though has no way to measure the abilities of Y character"
Who knows how long metro man could of kept time from moving, he only stopped it once he got a plan. You can’t really say who’s stronger, we don’t have information
Idk man, metroman moving around like that seemingly like time has completely stopped is insane. I would argue that Omnimans top speed feats can be relegated to "straight-line" movement, as IMO his speed feats get pegged down a HUGE notch with the fact that Cecil (or whoever was controlling the teleportation device back at their headquarters) was able to react to Omniman charging at him multiple times with the teleportation device. If a normal human can react like that to Omniman, I think that puts him down quite a bit. I don't think theres any chance that if Cecil were fighting Metroman he would be able to react to Metroman charging at him considering the speed he has shown. And just because Metroman hasnt shown "strength" feats doesnt mean he wouldn't mollywhop Omniman with a punch, remember that momentum equals power so if Omniman got hit with a punch going as fast as Metroman could go I highly doubt he would just walk away from it unscathed.
@@RainInTheSummer Nah. You are seriously telling me that Metro-Man is beating a dude that can fight someone stronger than Omni-Man for days, with his guts hanging out, jumping from outer space and onto a planet with no damage at all, and can survive a planet exploding next to him (although he was knocked out from this)
That's not how energy works, on such a level of scale, speed IS strength, it's physics and if you need a source just look up the expression for kynetic energy
Nope, Metroman literally stopped time and went for a walk, read a book, had a drink, went to a museum took a skeleton, dressed it up as him and then threw it at mega mind. This all happens in a single cell of animation in the movie. I don’t think omni man could even see him throw a punch.
He didn't read **a** book. If you look up the scene again, he read A LOT of books. In his perspective that fraction of a second could be weeks or even years.
Exactly. Metroman can essentially stop time, which means all he has to do is figure out how to scratch Omni-Man and suddenly it's death by a thousand cuts without anything Nolan can do to fight back.
I like to think about the fact that metroman was walking during his midlife crisis, aka ~5 km/hr. Since we know that he can fly fast enough to break the sound barrier, we can say that when time is not frozen for him he can go at least Mach 1, so 1234km/hr. If he were to fly, rather than walk while time was frozen he could go at least ~246 times faster than his previous thought top speed.
Power scaling isn't the problem here, metro man wins because he has no weaknesses, he was never supposed to, and thus, can't be killed, while vitrimites definitely can be killed.
I do respect that you don't go out of your way to talk down to people or act insulting. You are quite respectful discussing this even if I don't agree on all the points you make.
The thing with this match-up is that we literally have no idea how strong Metro Man is. He's never in a situation where he needed to exert himself throughout the course of the movie and that kind of makes this a hard question to answer. I'd say it would be unfair to try and scale them.
I argue Metro Man was a hero by design and grew bored. Mega Mind was smart and had some cartoony villain stuff, but at no point was a threat. So I feel if a fight were to occur, it'd be more of a friendly sparring match rather than a fight to the death as Metro Man would probably appeal to Omniman to stand down, unlike Hal Stewart, who only took the gig to impress Roxanne Ritchie and wasn't going to play the game.
A piece of dandruff has a minimum of 0.8 nano-grams of DNA. The normal humans body has about 20 grams of DNA. One gram is a billion nano-grams. So we do 20 billion divided by 0.8 = 25 billion nano-grams of DNA. So technically Metro man is 25 billion times stronger then Tighten? Idk go to a scientist or somethin.
damn, this video is shit about metroman scaling go watch the homelander vs metroman one it explains metroman's powers waaaaaaay better and actually does his job researching the character's powers
This is a perfect example of a biased fanboy. Metro man dissapears for a frame, while a laser is shot at him. And that's enough to rethink his life, with little to no effects surrounding him while he moved many times faster than light through many places. And he was walking, he was not running, he had no physical sign of exhaustion while moving at relativistic speed, implying that this is not his limit. And nothing hurt him ever in the story, which means that everything you said is an assumption. And, no, it's perfectly established that his Ali Baba version has not his full powers. So, please do better.
thing is, metro man is too fast for omni man, but assuming we base his strength of current feats, he couldn't hurt omni man, so it'd be a quick fight of metro man realizing omni man is build like a brick, then just dipping without a trace, omni man not having the time to build his speed to get to the feats shown in the video which are practically all speed feats after he builds alot of momentum. Omni man wins a marathon, but metro man wins a sprint, and fights like these are more sprints than marathons, due to the close quarter nature. considering metro man lived out a day ish in 1 frame, so 1/60th of a second is ~24h for metro man, meaning he is casually, no effort mind you, processing information and existing at 63,000 times the speed of light, assuming he does a full 24h, at a mere 2mph walk, if he actually tries to go fast, likely thousands times faster. his combat reactions are likely leagues above this considering he was pondering his life, not just making a quick body shift, and only went fast enough so that regular people wouldn't see him. no he cant hurt omni man, but omni man cant react and accelerate to beat metro man, likely ends with metro running off, or them brokering a truce
A late reply but we never got to see metroman’s full strength or durability in the movie so he may potentially hurt him i mean titan was strong enough to lift an entire skyscraper and hes only 1% of metroman’s power, he also tanked megamind’s laser which has the full power of a sun concentrated into a beam. If we see his max potential for strength and durability id definitely think they are better than omniman’s
something to note is that metroman is a full blood, and therefor alot stronger than titan. we could take the same powerscaling that the halfblood vultrumites had comepared to nolan, and titan being the halfblood here compared to metroman. titan is still human, and have just got a fraction of metromans power. i can safely bet on this, because titan didnt use the same speed as metroman ever did, not even close, and he was PISSED! he 100% used all his feets to try and kill megamind. although i still dont know who would win, even if this argument is true haha
Though comparatively speaking, the low tiers Omniman upscales from have performed much greater feats than Tighten so the result still won't see much changes. Also, it have always been acknowledged that Metroman is far superior to Tighten. Just that trying to put him any higher would require a crap ton of assumptions since tossing city blocks to Destroying continent is a huge leap and also because Metroman have nothing suggesting he can reach such level of powers as of now.
I would agree that we haven’t seen the height of Metromans powers. It makes it bad to compare. However we do know that an incredibly intelligent alien tried to kill him many many times and had no such thing as a scrap of success. We have no idea how strong he really is, or how durable. But going from a standing still position to pretty much pausing time within the time it takes him to step is a big thing over Omni man at least in the beginning of a fight. Since Omniman takes time to get that fast. That being said, we still have no idea how the fight would go down. But when it comes to speed, I’d say Metroman has the upper hand. That and no known weaknesses.
One thing I feel like a ton of people also ignore is that there are some vantage points to base Metro Man’s speed around. Firstly, Metro Man’s super speed may actually scale to the speed of Megamind’s Death Ray. As can be seen in the scene where Metro Man throws the skeleton, the speed of the laser is legit fast enough to be perceived in motion to Metro Man. Meaning if we’re to assume it’s actually travelling at light speed, then that’d actually put him at relative speeds of light (if not actually a bit over this, in fact, as he is still travelling faster than it and even outpaced the explosion, still nowhere even close to Omni Man however). Secondly, the instance right before he claims how copper drains his power as he’s overlooking city hall, we get a vague but important detail of a ray of sunlight beaming through a cloud. Meaning, we could even assume that Metro Man’s speed calc may even actually be below light speed given how much faster it moved compared to Megamind’s death ray. You could argue this is just a visual/gag cue since he has legit just stated he gained an incredible idea as soon as the beam of light hit him, but given how you could see even the sun beam was a tiny bit slow at reaching the ground given the speed of the cloud’s movement, I’d argue not. So, all in all, still nowhere near Omni Man.
Regardless of everything else, this is just an asinine comparison. Megamind’s characters weren’t made with comic book nerds in mind like invincible was, it doesn’t have an in depth lore to draw from and the movie wasn’t about the strength of the supers and the action filled fights that entails to begin with
To be fair, Metro Man has never needed to contend with the same level of threats as Omni-Man did. Neither did Titan. For all we know, he could be just as powerful as Superman or stronger, and would show it if he has to save the Earth from a DC-style villain.

To go over a few comments and "counterguments"
Never got a weakness from metro man. But I’m giving it to Omni man for more feats.
I say omniman. Because of greater experience and training. Plus greater displays of strength and speed.

Agreed.
Omni man has more things going for him because he has more things to look at in general compared to metro man, who only has one movie and pretends, he’s dead for half of it
I agree with most of what you’re saying, and I do think Omni man would win, though I would say that durability is up for debate
Even if he didn’t tank the attack, megamind shot at him, megamind who knows him best didn’t believe that he would die from that, even after supposedly learning that his weakness is copper
I think, based off of that you could get metal means durability easily to star level
But there’s different ways you could get Omni man’s durability to that level as well to be honest so it’s debatable, but obviously in an overall fight, Omni man will win

But I just thought I'd help you with that point.
We are going off of feats, that is like saying Full powered Saitama can scale from universal just because we haven't seen his full potential.
If Megamind were to have a live action movie, I think we all can agree that Markiplier should be the one played Metro Man.
That's obvious
Kenau Revees could too ngl
If Markiplier gets a bit more jacked that would absolutely be perfect
Who??
I don't see it at all, someone much taller and more buff and with a better voice and facial structure, just someone much different and better.

To convert 24 hours to seconds, you multiply by 60 (minutes per hour) and 60 (seconds per minute):
Metroman's duration = 24 hours * 60 minutes/hour * 60 seconds/minute = 86,400 seconds.
Using the average walking speed of 2 miles per hour, we can calculate the distance covered:
Distance = Speed * Time = 2 miles/hour * 86,400 seconds = 172,800 miles.
Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time
Total Distance = Distance covered during Metroman's day = 172,800 miles
Total Time = Duration of Metroman's day in real time = 1/30 seconds
Average Speed = 172,800 miles / (1/30 seconds) = 5,184,000 miles per second.
So the average speed of Metroman is 5,184,000 miles per second.
Average Speed = 5,184,000 miles per second * 3600 seconds per hour = 18,622,400,000 miles per hour.
Therefore, Metroman's correct average speed is 18,622,400,000 miles per hour. Or sub-relativistic speeds.

I could definitely see him being way more powerful than what we saw on screen
Yes he is comparing a superhero to a supervillain. Superheroes don't destroy cities or planets 😂. Also he is giving whatever refrence he has where Omni man is strongest even from the comics but not showing when he was weak.

Yeah, it's safe to say Megamind wouldn't have been able to push Metroman to his full potential.
Yea, this guy definitely has a boner for Omni man, if you can pause time like Metro Man did you straight up win

@@omarretana4639It's super speed, tho. He said it himself and he had the afterimage effect.

Or even crazier, he found him and went back fast enough to not be spotted.
that whole sequence was metromans life thinking sequence
U gotta actually watch the movie dude cuz everyone who did knew Metroman was there and why

Huh.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Edit: Forgot to say, this isn't to say anything against your analysis, just to provide a bit more detail on where those speed calculations came from for anyone watching who wasn't aware.
the movie was at 24 fps and he left for 1 frame, so he was able to do all of that in far less that 0.1 seconds
And without damaging anyone. His power is beyond typical superpower that others have.@@SplitGaming2542
assuming the satilite fires a beam at 0.8c from geosynchronous orbit, metro man had 0.1492 seconds to spend an entire day at a relaxed pace. he was shown to be able to casually travel about 4 meters in 5 frames (0.21s visible to us) when dashing allready in super speed, so that makes him casually able to move casually at 19m/s relative to the time slowwed. i'll assume he spent 12 hours (43200s) of his time in that one frame. this gives us a ratio of him moving at 289544.55 times normal speed. knowing that he was able to go 19m/s casually during that, it can be multiplied out to 5,501,346m/s being a casual, relaxed movement speed for him. an equivalent movement speed consideered casual for humans is perhaps 2m/s, with running being maybe 6m/s. assuming the difference is linear, metro man could move 16,504,038 m/s

That being said it still implies he somehow managed to snag a fake skeleton and put his cape on it in a very very short amount of time.
They just need to make a movie about metroman so we can see the extend of his powers
He might make an appearance in the Megamind TV series

Your assumption is one of incredulity that is immediately contradicted by your points about Omniman: You say, "Wow, it's just unreasonable to assume Metroman scales up this far. Omniman scales up this far!"
The only reason it could be unreasonable to assume Metroman scales up to any degree is if you are assuming "nobody" could do so.

But that was used in the calc, dummy.
Omni Man has strength feats that are quintillions of times stronger (destroying planet volt run by flying through it) and has speed feats that are billions of times faster than Metro Man (flying to another galaxy within a week). It is ridiculous to suggest that Metro Man can perform these feats without any evidence.

Im gonna keep saying Metro Man would whipe the floor with Omniman's ass.
The main thing about Metro Man is his speed. The part where he stopped time to live a lifetime thinking about his life.

Who tf told you metro man would solo 😂
That happened in the show not the comics, he said it in the video stop the cap, also I don't think you know how speed works.
This video uses both the comics and the show to show Omni man's feats, so it does not matter if it happened in the show, instead of the comics.

TL:DR at the end, but i really recomend reading
@@Chuck its impossble to know, metroman's scene had to be compiled to a flashback, and quite lengthy considering how fast he was moving, and also not even really trying to, and ALSO, metroman's power seem to scale infinitely with time, considering he was already super strong as a baby to fly around carrying a couch and a person with no struggle, knows how much his powers have grown by that age if hal with only a couple of days was already breaking sound barriers and throwing giant buildings like a small tree branch.

We never see Metro Man struggle with anything, nor does he ever do anything that showcases his physical limits. For all we know Metro Man could punch Omni-Man through Jupiter.
There's a lack of knowledge to scale it from.

Omni man is fast then light but perception and combat speed doesn’t equal reaction and travel speed
Leaving a like and a comment for the algorithm as a thank you for the spoiler warning before leaving till i come back later.

Yeah I’m just gonna copy-paste my other reply to you here too,
YOU gotta understand speed.

Ah yes city block level vs moon level to planet level
What a fair battle
Omni-man is consistently city / mountain level except for the one feat of busting a planet ( that they could only do with an unstable core & needed the help of two other Viltrumites ).

Praise and preach.
unless you know science and realize that force is relative to speed x mass.. omini man gets vaporized even if metro man had normal human strength when going that fast.
@@emm6101
If Metro man is getting the "speed = strength cuz science-y things and stuff" treatment then it would only be fair to do the same to Omni-Man.
Other wise, it wouldn't really be fair.
But ur all Metro fans so ofc you're not going to give do the same for Nolan.🙄
I mean, He's not Metro man, so who cares, right? 😁💢
@@emm6101 then that's even more on Omniman's favour since his speed is also much faster than Metroman.

Who knows how long metro man could of kept time from moving, he only stopped it once he got a plan. You can’t really say who’s stronger, we don’t have information
He didn't stop time
Idk man, metroman moving around like that seemingly like time has completely stopped is insane.

And he also kept up speed wise with Thragg, who I believe is faster than Omni-Man
@@Pencilvictim Yes, Metroman run circles around Invincible characters unfortunately

That is so annoying and a VERY stupid reason to claim that Metro man wins.
Titan got his powers from metro man's dandruff, which is basically an extremely small amount of his dna, so I'd argue metroman would win
I think you forgot to mention that metro man has literally 0 weaknesses
This is a perfect example of a biased fanboy.
Metro man dissapears for a frame, while a laser is shot at him.
And that's enough to rethink his life, with little to no effects surrounding him while he moved many times faster than light through many places.
And he was walking, he was not running, he had no physical sign of exhaustion while moving at relativistic speed, implying that this is not his limit.
And nothing hurt him ever in the story, which means that everything you said is an assumption.
And, no, it's perfectly established that his Ali Baba version has not his full powers.
So, please do better.
Common Chuck W. Finally putting the Metro Man Clowns away
Ikr?
Metro Man can't take Omni-Man unless he can take pictures of Spider-Man
thing is, metro man is too fast for omni man, but assuming we base his strength of current feats, he couldn't hurt omni man, so it'd be a quick fight of metro man realizing omni man is build like a brick, then just dipping without a trace, omni man not having the time to build his speed to get to the feats shown in the video which are practically all speed feats after he builds alot of momentum.

Exactly.
That and no known weaknesses.
mental attack moment
