#MinoxidilBeard
Looks like post-minox shedding. Everyone will shed once they stop using minoxidil, shedding doesn't mean loss. Minoxidil forces your hair follicles into the anagen phase, which is one of the reasons most people have heavy shedding during the early stages of minoxidil use. The hairs towards the end of the growth phase are forced to shed to synchronize into the anagen phase with the rest of the growing hairs. Once you stop using minoxidil, regardless of whether or not your gains are terminal you will have to go through another shedding phase, or two, or three until your hair follicles return to a normal cycle. If the hairs are terminal they will regrow after these shedding phases. When I stopped using minoxidil I went through 3 noticeable shedding phases before my beard finally filled back in and has been full ever since. Been off minox for over 2 years now and my beard is the fullest it's ever been.
For how long did you use it? Can you just use it until you are happy with the look, or is there a minimum required time before it has a long term effect?
How long did you use minoxidil?
thanks alot for your comment .. i`m at the 1 year mark and everything is starting to come in finally .. ( was about to give up) .. now i got nice hair on my cheeks chin under my chin .. going thicker and thicker every day
Thanks!
Did you use a derma roller?
You have done a service for my curious mind. Thank you for documenting your journey.
No problem bro.
Thank you for this update and the previous video. Lots of progression covered in one video. I would love to see an update. One thing I would suggest is to mix the derma-rolling with minoxidl. The derma rolling seems to increase the absorption and generally efficacy of minoxidl. Several good anecdotal cases and I believe I heard of one study that corroborates this too. It makes sense if one considers the mechanism by which derma-rolling works.
I’m glad you’ve made an honest review about this process. I’m on day one and have hope!

Lol thank you
I just got done using it daily for nearly a year. My areas of concern never really improved but I do have more hair on my chest and arms now… so I have that going for me I guess
No way. Nothing at all on your problem areas?
@@CesarCinema unfortunately no. While using it I saw tons of vellus hairs but they never became terminal… I guess if I used this forever maybe they finally would someday but I came to just accept what I can grow and I don’t want to use a product meant for bald men’s heads on my face any more. I had been wanting to try for years tho… unfortunately it didn’t help me

No lie, I was thinking about quitting minoxidil after I finish my last month supply, since it helped a lot and my beard is lookin great! But I haven’t even hit a year yet, and after watching this.......I’m kinda hesitant 😂
Keep it up bro im on month 8 now and wanted to quit but i can’t.
@@phucknaw2104 yeah i think I’ll just stick with it haha
I’m glad you guys watched this before stoping. Looks like we are in it for the long-haul
@@phucknaw2104 any hair shedding on top?
You can go down to twice a week, or once every 3 days, for a maintenance dose and increase gradually if you notice any thinning. No need to keep up twice a day forever.
Your beard looks great. You mention your beard shedding. Whether the hair is a vellus or terminal hair, it goes through 4 phases consisting of a growth phase, a transitional phase where the follicle detaches from the blood supply, a resting phase, and a shedding phase. The growth phase generally lasts from 3-7 years, while the other three phases last around 3-4 months before the hair falls out and a new hair starts growing to replace it. Since each hair is in different stages of the cycle which is why you can lose so much hair without going bald. Ironically, while the hormone testosterone is responsible for the development of male characteristics like deepening of voice, muscle mass, and other things, some of it gets converted to dihydrotestosterone which is responsible for beard growth AND for some like me that includes male pattern baldness. That's where our genetics come in. For me, I got the full effects of pattern baldness, but sadly I didn't get the good beard. It appears minoxidil mimics the latter and may encourage hair growth in places our genetics missed, but also might explain why some lose some of their scalp hair when taking it.
Hi bro, will my beard off if i stop using minoxidil?
I'm in my 2nd month and I'm only 19
Please reply me 🥺🙏
@@yoSherif nope face, armpits and pubic hair follicles are diferent than the hair. its true that hair has cycles of 3-7 years and it gets replaced through lifetime but once the hair is terminal on your face, armpits or pubic hair, it stays.
@@lolmaomgreat ok bro,thanks 😊
@@lolmaomgreat Is minox works locally or if we apply it on beard then it may result in shedding of scalp Hair too?
@@harshvardhan645 yes it did....the hairfall on you scalp if you apoly it on your face
The Kirkland brand is better in my opinion man you definitely not losing out. It helped me get my beard when I went on my journey 3 years ago.
Nice. Thanks for commenting
Did you lose hair on top? And if u did, did it grow back?
Three years and I experienced the same issue. I jumped right back on it, and after one month with the liquid the beard is strong.
Oh wow. 3 years is a long time for the hairs not to be permanent
I don't know if it is just down to the shading which should happen when you stop. Or it's different for each individual. I also use Kirkland but liquid as it is easier to apply in longer beard's.
Ok thanks for the info
@@steviej4172 so basically minoxidil isn't permanent? Sounds like its just not worth it for like the 10% gain people are getting.i just started like an hour ago, and now im finding this his videos, sounds like its just not worth it at all. Maybe get some hair implants lol
doesn't that pretty much mean you have to be on it for life though? I'm 3 years in too and if you still lose some after 3 years when quitting minox I feel like it's a lifetime thing you have to commit to... I mean you don't lose everything but perhaps 20-30% depending on person? so if you are okay with that you can quit it, if not it's for life eh?
If you dye your hair, the white velus hair looks more like terminal hairs. Maybe thats why its falling out?
Everything I’ve read indicates that minoxidil needs to be used forever in order to retain growth. According to sites I’ve seen, you have to use it forever to keep that growth
Thanks for the info but ppl have been able to use it for a couple years then stop and keep the gains.
@@CesarCinema beard stays, hair on scalp falls
That’s because they are talking about head hair. Yes, hair on the scalp will fall out once you stop using minoxidil, but facial hair is different, it will stay once your hairs are mature. It might shed a couple times after stopping, but after that it should still stay for the rest of your life.
@@RestitutorEuropa yet this guy was shedding after stopping at a year and a half
@@RestitutorEuropa FACTS, BEARD hair is different than scalp, beard hairs once there terminal there forever Permanent. You may experience shedding if you stop before 1yr & stop cold turkey, or if you stop before your beard hair is really terminal.
Appreciate you covering so many topics keep it up and good luck.
I recently ordered minoxidil, I get it in a couple days I’ve seen tons of videos about it which that’s the reason I found you lol which you’re awesome it’s cool to see all your progress but I did see a professional doctor talk about what if you stop using minoxidil no matter how long you use it ? The hairs that come out from minoxidil will all fall off because minoxidil is the only supply keeping them from not dying and falling off. I’m sure he knows what he’s talking about and says they will all fall off no matter what 😭
Thanks for letting us know Jesus. I definitely respect what a professional has to say about it but I did notice I got to keep a good amount of hairs and views have also shared their experiences about keeping most of their gains. I’m ok with using it again. I feel like I don’t have to use it twice a day after you get a nice beard.
Ive been on rogaine foam for 5mths, I never grew hair, if i did have some before it was terribly patchy and not even worth growing out. So back to my progress... it is a commitment. But worth it! I have grown alot of hair on both sides.. There are side effects, redness on skin. hair growth on arms.. i feel like some fall off.. sometimes looks darker.. any questions lmk..
Is it permanent?
Any shedding of the scalp ?
Give it 10 years...you'll have hair growing out in all sorts of new areas.

Dude naturally any hair sheds it doesn’t mean ur loosing hair my beard is 13 inches long and I loose a little bit of hair
Hey dude, major step up from last year! Can I get a quick update on this? What happened - did you get back on Minoxidil? Did you ignore it and it grew back? Thanks
Great video, it appears after you completely stop Rogaine eventually the shedding and loss of hair will start……using Rogaine for my struggling bears…. Fortunately the hair on my head is full and thick 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I think combining mesotherapy injections with minoxidil will help your beard not shading off.. that’s what my doctor had me do
i’m still on it so don’t know how the results will come out
Welcome back! Hope it goes great boss
Thanks bro. Glad to b back.
For the young people. Garlic is a natural alternative. Caesar since you are a influencer on this stuf you should consider reading studies on 'garlic for hair growth' and let the young ones know about it, you can even try it on your bald spot.
I didn't know it makes you lose or thin. I'm gonna deter from trying. I thought I could never grow a beard. My beard didn't really start coming in fully til my late 20's.
It’s there a reason why you don’t also use the minoxidil on your head too?
Couldn't you just apply the foam to the patchy part of your beard?
Thanks for the videos dude. Im gonna start my beard minoxidil journey at 30

I have a question for you Caesar. Did you get any hair growth on other parts of your body from this product like thicker hair on forearms or back or shoulders etc? Thanks for letting us know some of the side effects beyond the applied area.
I did notice that I started growing thicker hair on my triceps area but that’s about it.
@@CesarCinema Did it fell off after stopping using minoxidil or it stayed?

Thanks for sharing this integral part of your beard journey. Is it ok if I reference your experience in my vid? I'll be sure to link back to this vid. TIA.
Unless you are using minoxidil on your head, it shouldn’t cause balding. I think that might just be your usual hair thinning problem.
You're too hard on yourself. You seem like a chill ass brother. Be patient you'll see the results you want
I just wanna be as honest as possible
Hello, First I want to congratulate you on the wonderful video and the beautiful beard you made. I have a few questions that I hope you will answer. Is there an upper age limit after which Minoxidil should not be used? For example, if a person is already over 40 years old, will there be an effect from using this preparation! Regarding the brands, I saw that the most popular are Rogaine and Kirkland, both in the form of foam, the former being twice as expensive. In your opinion, is the higher price justified, does Rogaine really offer higher quality compared to its cheaper alternatives?
Does Minoxidil affect current and true hairs or it damages/disrupts the overall beard. For example, anyone who has a full beard but does not connect and wants it to connect. Would it affect it?
Did you consider dermablading or dermaplaning to improve your results?
Nice beard bro
So I have to shave everyday for work, but there are weeks/months at a time where I don't have to shave. Should I be applying this to my entire face or just the areas where I want more growth??
is it safe to say that after the last 18 months of being on minoxidil, any new progess going forward is a result from the dermarolling?
yes when u stop minox you naturally go through a thinning process so this speaks volumes on derma rolls
Yes me too after I stop using minox all baby hair gone 🥺
I use it on my head and face
Does hair on my scalp will fall if I stop using minoxidil on my beard ? I’ve been on the treatment Since almost 14 months now
I have a question I have the 0.5 mm derma roller and I recently just bought minoxidil and beard oil, do you leave the minoxidil on or wash it off and apply beard oil after 4 hours for it to be effective?
Have you been using the roller and the minoxidil? I heard it helps....I'm currently doing it but I just started lol
I have a big big patch on my left side, worst than yours man, absolutely zero hairs growing on it so I suspect not even minoxidil will help long term there and the thing is that I have godlike super full healthy hair at 40 years old and i dont wanna risk losing any of it ,so i dont know what to do
Hello, please, I use mint oil after every time I wash Minoxidil, I mean twice a day its OK about that or I must stop using it ?
Dang I wanted to stop after a year and half.. soo basically I have to continue minoxidil longer until I get mature hairs. How do you not have mature hairs yet?
Good question. I don’t know but I’m glad you saw this before you stopped.
@@CesarCinema 2 to 3 years is long enough.
I lose mad beard hair all the time.
I've never used anything on it lol.
I think some of its in your head. Also looks like your comparison at 3:15 or so, is not recently dyed vs recently dyed, mine always looks fuller after a recent dye.
Again, my beard is 100% natural growth. That one bald spot you got does seem to be /slightly/ worse, but I do think you were over thinking this lol.
Need your advice bro, I’m at the 6month (6 bottle) atm decided to let my beard grow out but recently when I washed my beard it started shedding is it cause I’m not washing it thoroughly enough or I’m doing it too much (I leave it on for hours and apply it twice a day), so is it that build up of menoxidle (dry skin) preventing it from sinking in to the skin for further growth or is all this normal?
How do you apply the minox to get it to the skin when you got beard hair covering the skin? I'm shaving it away for at least a year cause I have been told it so important the minox gets to the skin
Damn I didn’t know if you use minoxidil on the beard it makes you lose head hair 😖😖 my minoxidil is comin in tomorrow now I’m hesitant to use it. Btw I’m 21 & just started growing my beard out about 3 weeks ago
In the first video, when you said you started losing hair.... how long did the shedding take before it came to a stand still?
It was around 3 weeks or so I say.
Is there any updates on dermarolling
I use members mark minoxidil liquid at night and rogaine foam in the morning before I go to work because it dries faster and on my off days I use liquid only I like liquid more because I feel like it works best
Thanks for the info. How come you don’t just use the foam?
I feel like when I use the liquid minoxidil it works better. That might not be the case though; maybe it’s me tricking myself into thinking it. but I also like that with the liquid when I completely shave my face, I can frame out my beard with the liquid and the dropper as opposed to guessing where I missed with the foam. If that makes sense
Ok got you. I’ve been using foam since day one.
Nice. The foam sometimes burns when it burns I feel like it’s working best lol. I’ve been using minoxidil since December 16th 2020 I had some pretty good gains. I shaved my face completely a month ago to see what hairs would grow back and I was kinda disappointed. I regressed for sure
@@xIBaLLiNIx313 dude why'd you shave??? Defeats the purpose 🙄
Have you considered microneedling your beard area?
Wow, you have to use it all your life if you wanna keep the beard
Hey man! Thank you for your wonderful and honest videos!
Have you ever thought about the 15% minoxidil?
The point is that you are more than 25 (this is an average age when the beard stops growing), so 5% minoxidil can be not strong enough for you... A lot of men that had the same issue as you (patches and spots with less hair) combined 5% and 15% minoxidil and they managed to grow a full beard
You should use 5% in the morning and 15% in the evening, and yes, dermaroller is definitely going to help
We should all be ready for using minoxidil for quite a long time...
@AV 661 Well, yeah, Minoxidil is the only way to get a full beard, I wish there were other ways but Minoxidil is actually the only thing that really helps...
I live in Russia, and here, you can find the 15% Minoxidil online, I am sure that in the US you can also find it and buy without any problems
The only problem is the price, it's much more expensive than the 5% one
So I looked it up a while ago and they only sell 5% minoxidil or less in the US. Thanks for the tips bro.
@AV 661 It depends, some people experience hair shedding, high blood pressure, etc. But in general, the only thing that can happen is that your skin may become very dry just like after using the 5% Minoxidil
@@CesarCinema It's so weird, I thought that if I can buy it in Russia, you'd definitely be able to buy it in the US...
Maybe there are some online shops that have it in stock
Bro I'm 31 don't use any products and my facial hair is still growing in. If you watch beard channels there are 50 year old men still making hair gains on there face with noo products what so ever.
Did you stop minoxidil on the head? Did those hair stay?
I never used on my head just my beard.
brother lets say you stoped at once a day do you think you would experienced that or no?
You know I’m considering going to once a day once my beard grows back in. I think it would stay full with once a day.
Had the same problem but after 4-6 weeks everything was back to normal. After 8 weeks i went to once a day and have not noticed any hair loss since then and have been doing this for almost 5 months now. Think that the tapering off process will not take weeks but rather months. After the 6 months I will go to once every other day. This again for 6 months and then i think 1 to max 2 times a week for another 6 months and then here and there once.
Summary first one and a half twice a day and then one and a half year tapering off.
This is because of the different cycles the hair has to go through. 4 weeks is just way to short and just the same as stopping immediately without a tapering off process.
My native language is not english.
So excuse me for my grammar.
What's the progress now ??? Did you grow any beard yet ?

Any updates on how the derma rolling is going with the Kirklands minoxidil? Great video btw. Really helping me with confidence of getting started and not buying into one of these popular beard kits for$60+ a month
I bought the .25 derma roll. I suggest you go for the .50 bc it’s bigger and it works better if you have a good amount of beard hair.
I'm 47. I've never been able to grow a full beard. I have weak cheeks and jaw line. Can't grow sideburns basically. I have a good moustache and goatee but thats about it. Over the last few years I've noticed more hair appearing out my nose, my ears, around my nipples, chest etc but nothing on the face which is really annoying. As you get older hair sprouts from odd places due to an increase in DHT so I've been told. Anyway, I've been using minoxidil for 6 months and have nothing at all to show for it. I derma-roll twice a week, apply jojoba oil infused with peppermint oil every evening four hours after applying minoxidil. I've always had what I'd call peach fuzz on my cheeks mixed in with very sparse thicker hair so I assumed the minoxidil would transform the peach fuzz but alas nothing so far. Maybe it's just my genetics.
perhaps your patch is devoid of any follicles and so no amount of minoxidil application will change that. It looks from all the progress shots to have been present all the way through. If I could reach even a fraction of growth that you've achieved I'd be happy.
I honestly dont think I could go more than 18 months on this stuff. I'm sure it's messing with my mood a bit.
Messing with your mood a bit? That's placebo buddy, all in your head.
You have to keep in mind that minoxidil will only grow hair where your genetics have determined it should grow. But if you’re growing baby hairs then it seems to be working but you should just be patient and keep applying it because sometimes it can take some people up to 3 years to finally get a full beard.
@@346ask Agree 100% all in the mind!
Wait? Do you lose MORE hair on your head if you use minoxidil if you wouldn't normally just by using it or is it only if you were going to naturally lose the hair? Doesn't the hair just go back to what it WOULD have been???
Hey Caeser. I really hope to help u.
Rlx man, I know that it is boring. But it is normal. I got the same thing
It is been about four years since I stopping using. And all this I notice that some spots in my beard are different than others. Maybe we can call then "weak spots". They use to have I short life and same times take a little while to get back again. But they always get back. You will be in this cicle, your bear have "moments" now. Some months it will be fuller and some month a few less. Dont worry too much about that. This is already your beard.
Make a test. Do not use minoxidil for a year and keep your bear always at this size. You will notice that. I sure that they will back and will last for some month until fall again and reborn ( just short life).
Yes I agree even while using minoxidil the beard shedds and becomes lighter but it always grows back the process is slower without minoxidil that's all
