The Ford Dana 50ttb is a Ford 9" mounted in an independent swing arm. Possibly the best front end ever made. Carrick customs makes the best conversion ever made to maximize its potential. Putting into a jeep is pretty cool.
There’s someone somewhere complaining about tire wear. That’s ok, when you’re booking it down a rough stretch of road you want something that’s independent, tough and travels more than an NBA all star team. Really though if you set the alignment right (some do it with weight in the vehicle) it wears fine.
Yes exactly. So you lift it and then cut and turn the lower ball joint for proper camber. Very common in the prerunner world. I definitely don't want drop brackets.
@@AdventureEndeavor Oh okay. Also I know specifically the twin i beam suspension has a ton of alignment issues with camber and caster does the traction beam have the same issues?
Twin i-beam and twin traction beams are basically the same thing. One is two wheel drive. The other is four-wheel drive. You will have issues if you try to take it to a standard alignment shop, I have learned how to do it throughout the years and we don't have issues whatsoever. All you really need is a couple wrenches and a tape measure.
This is awesome I want to do the same kind of setup to a bronco ii, thanks for the content and ideas! Can you go into more detail with build and like you had to do to the TTB’s
You need to take Frank to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan a place you missed while you were in Michigan it is an off-roading Park through the dunes in Michigan that you missed probably drove right past it
Dude ... love this content. Thanks again for sharing the process with us. Thought I knew a thing or two about off-roading, but that axle is KILLER. What exactly is that? Is there a term for that concept or a specific manufacturer that makes those?
Thanks man so glad you like the content! This front suspension is know as Twin Traction Beams. They come stock on broncos and 150s in the 80s to late 90s. They also come on Rangers and Explorers but they are dana 35 axels(little smaller). Thanks for watching.
@@AdventureEndeavor I just have one on my 97 F250. Looking real hard at Solo's coilover kit for it. Rides like a take from the factory with the front leafs. What a terrible idea that was by Ford. 😂
@@AdventureEndeavor and there are bolt on kits. I bought a e150 for 1600 with 2 engines. The car is in good condition, no rust but the engine isn't connected. A good base for a camper. I love this van. A lot of space and it comes with a 7.3l V8 diesel.

It's great to see some love for TTB 👍. I agree, perfect "do everything" suspension.
👊👍💪

Ford TTB on a jeep Wagoneer is amazing!
Thank you! It's been a fun build, this thing scoots off-road.

We just have a dana 44TTB. The Dana 50 is a little too much unsprung weight. This 44 has been solid though
Nice looking fabrication. Looks like you will be off and running before long. Good luck! Be careful!
Thank you! My buddy does such killer work.
Bad ass...
Love it 🤘
How much guys, to do it on my truck ?
Glad you love it, it's for sale! 35k obo
Did you put that wagoneer on a bronco frame or f150 frame?
We grafted on a whole front section from an f150. Both trucks were cut around the a pillar.
Gotcha. I recognized the crossmember and the front ends of the frame horn.
Great looking rig!
Awesome intro on it
Glad you liked it! We thought is was fun! The ride was Definitely fun lol
@@AdventureEndeavor that was definitely trust in the camera mount though 😂
Totally we put the old gopro out there, the risk was worth it!
Awesome!
Thanks Joyce it's coming Right along!

Our tire wear is great, do our own alignments!
It's beautiful 🥲
Thanks! We think so!
Im confused on how you are lifting it without dropping the beams. Is cutting and turning them allowing you to not put drop brackets on them?

You should Google solo motorsports. Or threat motorsports. They do all twin traction beam stuff.
@@AdventureEndeavor thank you.
Any advice for someone that doesn't weld? It seems like the most cost efficient way to build an off road rig is to do the welding yourself.
Yeah you'll just have to buy a welded and learn. That's just half the battle, you'll also have to learn how to bend and notch tubing.
Which LS did you drop in?
It's a 2001. 5.3l

We might get back there eventually. We went to the dunes we just didn't offroad. We have dunes here in CA And NV as well, they are pretty fun.

@@AdventureEndeavor The dana 50 ttb also comes in the F250.
Yup. We went with 44 for more parts availability. Also 50s are heavy!

Yeah pretty bad. For a 250 dana 50 would be the way to go. Our jeep is smaller than a bronco so 44s made sense.
Does it fit a 1993 e150?
I mean anything is possible with enough money. It's all custom.
@@AdventureEndeavor than I will use a solid axle from f250 in front and rear.
That's a good combo for overall conditions

cool
Thanks for watching it's been a fun build!
Awesome build, note too cut off wheel exploding, Metabo grinder, variable amperage, clutch and balanced, be hard too ecplode a wheel on a metabo!
I wanna work at your shop.
You will have to inquire with the Fab Lab. I do not know if they are hiring.
It's gonna be hard but I want ttb on my El Camino
Anything is possible, talk to Mike at the fab lab!
