Today we take a look at some budget off road tires not from an unknown or no-name source. Cooper, the makers of the legendary STT PRO tires has evolved the lackluster AT3 4S tires in this new, improved, Road and Trail tire (Tyre....for you American viewers).
The new tire is not only more visually pleasing and suited well to mall crawlers and weekend warriors alike, but really held up well on backcountry trip this weekend. Over 100KM driven off road (trails, FSRs, and some "pathfinding") through light clay-cake mud, hard packed rock and dusty gravel roads, including some streams for cross and steep up, and later, downhill sections.
The Cooper tires stand out as they maintain OE comfort and feel on the road, you wouldn't know you are on an AT tire, unlike running the whoomphing whale sound of lightly worn Duratrac's or rhythmic scream of KO2 tires, these remain silent, at least as tested up to 145KPH.
We strongly recommend these to anyone looking for the perfect balance of trail and road, and remember, with the 3 peak symbol, you don't need to run a set of winters in the snow, at least, not here in Canada where we are. We have not tested these on ice.

Put them on my 1500 Big Horn. Had vibration issue above 65 MPH. Had them rebalanced twice, still had vibes. Took them to a shop that has a road force balancer and had them balanced on that. It balanced them !!! Love the tires now.
Oh wow. Thanks for the honest feedback
I have a set. Since 2016. Still going strong. 255 70 16. 2004 Silverado. AT3. I believe the ones on your video are the replacement.
Oh nice, thanks for chiming in :-)
So basically these tires are great for loose gravel/ dirt roads but also driving around the city/highway? Is that correct? I’m looking for something like that for my Chevy equinox. Because I love the outdoors!
Just don't think you can be going over mud anytime soon LOL
@@sushi_carshaha no not doing any mudding.. just doing stuff like in your video.
What is the ply rating on those tires?
Two ply :-) thanks for the support :-)
No rubbing on 265/65/17? That’s pretty big for the rav isn’t it?
What is your wheel offset?
@cozen89 265 was the tire size used for the price comparison, wheel specs are in the description, tires fitted are stock size basically
I love my AT3's so i think these are awesome
@@VINNY5674 thanks for contributing. Seriously.
AT 3's are great
Suspension setup and wheel offset/specs?
It's in the description friend! Suspension is stock.
Should I go for a 2in lift? Thoughts?
@@sushi_cars gotcha! Overlooked that. We’re gonna do the Torq 3” with the sub frame, engine and trans drops I think! Send it!
@mikec7927 tag us on IG! Want to see that!
You couldn't even tell us the name of the tire but going to give a review. Yeah.....
