Hello, is the external battery safe to drive with during rain? I use my scooter for daily commuting and sometimes there's no choice but to drive while it's raining, which makes me worry that an external battery is a bad idea for my use.
Also, my use of the stock battery sometimes causes overheating during long drives as I modified the firmware to draw more current for hill climbing. Does the RITA adapter evenly distribute the load between two batteries or does it always drain the external one first? I'd just like to know if I should opt for the 12s battery pack over the 10s. Thank you in advance!
Hi,
1. I would say it is safe to ride during rain if your battery is packed and sealed well. My batteries are good enough.
2. Rita drains a single higher voltage battery first. Then, when batteries voltages are equal, the current is shared between batteries. A 10s external battery is the best choice for you, becase it operates together with the internal battery all the time, while a 12s battery must be discharged by 50% before its voltage drops to 41-42V to start operating together with the interbal one.

Thanks! Not sure that I will release it soon, because I have a lot of work. Generally, for 48 volts battery you have to
1. Upgrade the controller for higher voltage support.
2. Cut 12s+ jumper at Rita and then connect it regular way.

1. i got Ninebot G30 Gen 1 which is 36V and I bought another 36V battery from AliExpress which had really good reviews and sells. Do I need Rita adapter in this case while connecting in parallel?
2. In what scenario can external battery explode or something?
3. Do I need to charge these batteries separately, or while connecting them together I can charge them?
4. Do I need to flash my controller if they have the same voltage?

Hey I just ordered an extra battery to do this but now found out that the one I ordered can’t be charged in parallel with the xiaomi, it has to be charged separate - can’t be charged thru discharge wires. Hoping this won’t be too big an issue. If you have any advice or tips or anything plz do let me know. Thanks

Whats the load time of the two batteries (36v two times) is than 18h
iam used the original m365 battery and an additional 36V 10Ah battery(liitokala) for around a year.
The charging time with the original xiaomi charger for both connected was 6 - 8 hours.
If you use a cheap China charger, as is usually included with cheap China Batteries it can really take 12 - 16 hours+
I don't know how Rita affects the loading time, iam using the 12s now.

The main idea of Rita adapter is to be able to connect 36V and 48 batteries together. The answers is: yes, you can connect 36V and 48V batteries in parallel using my Rita device.

So i need now extra connector to load the second batery of 36v
i push 43km on my xiaomi pro on standard mode, 30% at the end of the trip (this is really slow 21 kph, on sport mode i think the range will be much lower)
I would love to test how an external will affect the pro model that already comes with a 70% larger internal battery than the regular.
My regular m365 only gets at best 20km on standard mode.
I tried my same trip in sport mode and I would estimate make 32km range. I cut the trip short at around 50% mark so I would have charge to return. Only made it about 16km one way, had about 15% at 32km but the batt said 5% the next day just left in my room.
Nice work! Please do you have this characteristics Table before and after installing the external battery for the PRO model also? There is on paper 45 Km range.

just installed mine and couldn't be happier, easy to connect and install and with my 15Ah extra battery and limit amps to 25 i am getting 80km range on my pro 2 now. thanks again

@@mrzoro6121 i have pro2 and fits perfect, all plugs fit. not sure about non pro m365. takes 10 mins to install and works perfect, i added a 15Ah battery as extra and I adjusted firmware to max of 20 amps now I get 80km range

Hi Denis! I just got a Mi Pro 2 and love it! Unfortunately, I live around 11 km from the city centre where I work and the difference in elevation is around 350 meters. As expected, the scooter cannot take me home, as the battery is not large enough and it drains before I get home. Do you know whether adding an extra battery with the same voltage (i.e. without software modifications) will void the warranty on the scooter? Thank you!

Hi Dennis sorry for the vague question which is I have a 48 volt battery without data wires on it only 2 wires charge wire and power wire the controller has had bms skipped I’m not using xiaomi battery at all can I still use Rita with this set cheers
Was this added in series or in parallel . Trying to get my wires right . + & - to the correct side coming out of the controller . I think the controller shod have a +&- so with two batteries to add power you have one battery’s + from one battery and - from the other battery going to the controller. Then the + & - that’s left gos together. Is that right. I’ve got a 36v am adding iver 12v or 8v battery. To add power to 42or48v
. Plus I think I will need to use a relay so it will work when the 12or 8v is switched off. As I do plan on having it as a Opp and not all the time running that type of power. One more thing not sure what u think about controllers. But I think it’s better to over power the controller as if it’s a 48v one there is a low V cut off. So it cuts off at 38v.

How is that with the charging of the battery? Is it charged with the original charger or must the spare battery be charged separately?
If the external battery is a common port BMS equipped(one couple of wires for both charging and discharging), then it may be charged via the scooter charging port together with the internal one. If the external battery is a separate port BMS equipped(with a dedicated charging port), then it is not safe to charge batteries together, because Rita charges an external battery via its discharge port, while a separate port BMS is not able to interrupt charging at its discharge port, which may be dangerous.
Another thing is the battery must be a 36V one, otherwise original charger will not able to charge it, and you need a new higher voltage charger

Well, the internal battery usually may be charged by a 12s charger, because it is able to interrupt charging when it is fully charged. But there is a tiny risk that internal battery bms will fail, and not interrupt charging. And in that case internal 10s battery cells will be overcharged and broken.
Generally answer to your question is: yes, but carefully.

Hi, stock motor is fine. Most of "350W" motors you can see at the market are mega shit. You know, you can go to a shop and buy a 1.5L milk instead of 1L. But it does not work with motors at all, it's not enough to just compare 250 vs 350, there are many other parameters and especially quality.

If it's easy for you to share this info (I've asked several forum with no luck sofar) , I would like to know the reference of the power cables (awg...) in the deck of the M365, also the reference of dataline wires (the three wires twisted green yellow white)
And also the reference of the white connector of the dataline, it is a JS-3 pin but there is perhaps a reference of size or type?
(For the connectors on the power cables it's XT30 isn't it?)

Hi. Original power wires are 16AWG 200° silicone. Rita power wires are 16AWG, except the external battery one, which is 14AWG. Original power plug is xt30. Data wires are regular common ones. Data plug is jst pap-03v-s

Hi!
1. If you want to replace the internal battery to another 36V one without special Xiaomi data connector - you have to flash the scooter to let it accept batteries with no data line.
2. If you want to connect an external 36V battery, using the Y-cable mod - you have to flash the scooter to avoid wrong switching to the charging mode when current flows between batteries.
3. If you connect an external battery throught Rita - no flashing is required, you just plug and ride.

Hi, no, Rita is not compatible with your scooter. But you can buy my 10s battery and bag, connecting it via an y-cable, like I mentioned in the video, it will work fine.

Hi! Yes, of course it is possible, but I don't provide a mount for this, and you have to think about how to secure the bag. And you also need to extend the wire from Rita.

Like some countrys using 110v-120v and others 220v-240v

Hi, it works, but some fuss is possible due to 157 if using a higher voltage battery. Range boost kit is plug and play.

@@Saidifect These new BLE sometimes require flashing by a programmer, not by air. Range boost kit is plug and play, not requireing flashing. Flashing will not make it increase speed. Range+speed kit requires flashing.

Hi Dennis. What is the most hassle free way of doing this? The 10s kit will charge with original charger, show correct battery state while driving and while charging? I don't care about top speed, its illegal here in Sweden anyway, I don't want to risk getting stopped. I only want extra range.
Yes, 10s is the simplest. No new chargers, plug and ride. And yes, proper charge level displaying.

Denis i need to talk to you please. Im a 100kg guy in a city with hills. I have a pro 2. I was dumb and updated to last version. What can i do to have more torque to go uphills? Controller? Firmware? Paralell battery + Rita?
Hi, first of all you have to flash a custom firmware, like XiaoDash or ScooterHacking. Then, the cheapest and simplest hardware upgrade solution is mounting an external battery in parallel using an Y-cable. Rita is not essential for your purpose if you are ready to spend some time to discover the topic. Or you can just buy the "Range boost kit", it is plug and ride.
So Rita makes/converts the external higher voltage battery to the same as the original battery. Is it possible to get more power with custom firmware and go above 34 km/h now as we have 2 batteries now?
