What a very informative video. It not just about m365 battery modding, but a lesson in electric and electronics 👍🏽👍🏽
This just won the Best M365 Mod prize!!!! 🍻🍻🍻
I know Im randomly asking but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Lucian Grayson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Lucian Grayson it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Jadiel Spencer glad I could help :)
I randomly arrived here, enjoyed every minute of it. Congratulations u found a Fan!
Awesome engineer and good teacher. And the animations are both clear and funny!
My rita arrived today, i ran a external 10Ah battery empty, and then swapped to another full 10ah battery.
With the internal battery that was 72 kilometers range(44 miles), i got 17% remaining, not the best batteries i used.
This took 4 hours lol
I now have as much range as I can carry batteries😁Thank you Denis 👍
Thank you

'Rita likes big voltages and long ranges'. Giggity
🔥🔥🔥
Wow. So much clarity and detail at the same time. Very informative indeed..👍👍
This was brilliant. Thank you so much for the effort you put into this.
That is a very smart thing. I will do this modd even with a 10s battery. looks good and feels more safe. I will buy this Rita soon. Thanks
THIS PERSON IS ONE FROM THE MILION
Pretty awesome that it can charge both batteries from the same charger!
I want to get a pickle and a fine bottle of vodka to toast you for such an excellent video. Great knowledge.
i dont own a scooter, nor do i plan to mod a battery somewhere, yet i'm here enhoying this lesson in physics.

Thank you soooo much for such great video and information... cant wait to try it out.
this deserves a like and a follow!
This video is awsome. Denis, your a genius! Thank you for this great information.
Thanks!
So with the little research ive done, RITA just compares the 2 voltages, the higher voltage pack is switched on until its lower than the other pack, that even solves the regen current.
Very good video @Denis Yurev! Thank you!
You are welcome
Dude, you are freaking insane. 😍
what a great video, very clear and nicely edited

Your channel is the most underrated channel I have seen on youtube lately. I will make a post and refer all of my viewers so they can see this video. Because this upgrade is the single most needed upgrade for the Xiaomi M365. Love it.
I am in love with Rita and I am already ordering one :)
I also have a "spare" 52V battery laying around... Was wondering if it will burn something out, or can I safely use it with Rita?
The video was not too long at all. It was very well made, well edited, clear and interesting! Looking forwards for the next video! Keep up the good work, thank you!
P.S. I was very happy with your custom BMS for the M365.
Thank you! I was really impressed when I see that you made a video about my BMS =) What do you mean as 52V? Is it nominal voltage? What a strange value?
Denis Yurev I should say 14s battery :)
@@VRMinde please, read this public.embedden.com/Rita/Docs/English/rita_manual_latest_en.pdf
Denis Yurev So if I would charge the cells only up to 4v I would have 56V pack. Theoretically, even the stock controller should survive?
@@VRMinde No, you must not use it with original controller. But if you modify it and cut the jumper at Rita, than you can use your battery
great job i wish i had those electronic abilities
This RITA shot up in price!
Kudos, nice product and excellent video, no I did not get bored I truly enjoyed watching that.
Edit: never mind, found all the answers on your site, great stuff.
I am definitely up for internal battery upgrade video.
Keep up the good work.
Ok, thank you =)
Genius Mod, very good explained

Hi I bought a Segway Ninebot ES2 and a month later bought the Ninebot Extra external battery making the scooter a ES4. It increases the power, range and speed. I’m having lots of problems with the 2 batteries unbalancing, when I get to my destination the external battery usual has more power left than the internal. Another thing that happens is when I start my trip the scooter does the normal fast speed but when one of the power bars on the display starts blinking the scooter slows down to the speed without the extra battery, like a ES2. Also there is 4 power leds on the external battery to check the power. All 4 leds blink a lot when I run my scooter full power. Iv taken the scooter back to where I bought it from several times and it’s still under guarantee. I noticed on the internet that it’s a common problem with this model.
Wow!! Very good explanation about electricity. You should become a teacher
I have been a teacher for 2 years)) We built mad robots with teenagers)) And I really love this, hope to start teaching again later
I have my now 1 year and i am very impressed about it!!
Wow, nice! I am very grateful to my first customers who believed in me when the product was not yet known =)
@@DenisYurev I bought in july 2020, did you found any way to see your battery percentage normal? Because if you brake the battery goes quick to 100 and if you accelerate the battery goes down
This was so AWESOME Bro /salivating
I was wondering how it was possible to connect 2 different batteries in parallel, this explains it perfectly. I do have one question: When charging, the weaker battery will charge faster, does this device stop current going to the charged battery, while continuing to charge the stronger battery? I'm specially interested in using an original Xiaomi PRO2 battery, original firmware and original charger, while adding an external battery.
yes, the lower voltage battery will be charged first and stop being charged, while another one will continue charging
Thank you for a great video
Good way to start a fire.
With no data from the external battery, BMS doesnt know if the cells are critically unbalanced or too hot
Of course the external battery has its own common port BMS
ur the best Denis Yurev! i want to try this on a segway g30 max!
Thanks, I will add ninebot support a bit later
Great video but the adapter is pointless.
You do not need higher voltage to go 30+km/h. Just use the same battery voltage , the free software and the normal Y adapter.
You can even moved the internal battery outside for easy on the go swapping (I use the bag on the front). I find that the most convenient.
Using higher voltage you can and probably will destroy the motor pretty quickly.
I need more information about how did you do it.
If you would like to share your solution of course :)
@@giannists.6390 Google: unlock Xiaomi m365 30km/h apk. It takes 5 mins. The rest is just adding a second 36V battery with a Y connector.

Awesome video and very well explained. But will this work on any other electronic controllers/ "ebikes" or its mainly built for this scooter.
Well done !!!
Hi, fantastic product it looks like and easy to use. Just one question before I order one, if using the 10s all in one kit, I assume the normal capacity display on the scooter (Pro) will still work correctly? And it will reflect the combined capacity? I mean of course I realize that the detailed Ah numbers will be wrong etc, but the percentage is based off voltage right? So if it shows 80% it will mean that both batteries are around 80% left?
Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, I have to solder a lot))

Amazing im gonna save up and get this💯🤝
GREAT SWEET, I just hooked up my Dualtron Storm battery to my Wolf King GT and I can say this thing is now the ultimate scooter. Basically 67AH. Check out my latest video's on it...
@Denis Yurev - Amazing video. Thank you. I do have one question: How would the Rita adaptor work if the external battery I connect has a BMS of its own? I have a spare M365 Pro battery that I was hoping I could use as an external battery for when I need it on long trips. Thank you!
Hello! Rita is designed to be used with a common port BMS equipped external battery, which means just one couple of wires sticking out of the battery for both charging and discharging. Original Xiaomi battery is equipped with a different type of BMS - separate port, with a dedicated charging port. Using this type of batteries with Rita as an external is not safe, since separate port BMSes are not able to control charging process via the discharge port.
@@DenisYurev Thanks, important information! ❤
@@DenisYurev So is it ok to use Rita with original battery(separate charging port) and external battery with common port?
Zajebiscie Wszystko wyjasnione :) Dzieki
Thanks) Dzenkue bardzo! =)
Witam! Można o kontakt ? Instalował Pan rite u siebie ?
Hey man. This is really amazing :D It's a shame that those scooters has a smart BMS on the battery. If the smart BMS was in the controller instead everything would be much easier since the scooter wont run without those data cables from the BMS to the controller, right ? :) not every battery packs got that smart BMS with data cables so you cant just exchange the original battery to another one without that data cables. :P
Yes, smart BMS has some disadvantages)
Is there a risk of burning the controller with the extra power we have from Rita?
🔥 I think it could be fixed by using 2 current limiters and 4 diodes 🤔...
Battery A
2 positive connections:
Connection A1+, a diode facing load
Connection A2+, current limiter 1 going to Battery B+
2 negative connections:
Connection A1-, a diode coming from load
Connection A2-, current limiter 2 connecting to battery B-
Battery B
2 positive connections:
Connection B1+, a diode facing load
Connection B2+, current limiter 1 going to Battery A+
2 negative connections:
Connection B1-, a diode coming from load
Connection B2-, current limiter 2 connecting to battery A-
Or am i wrong there? 🤔
This is purely based on logic, so if someone with knowledge of electronics reads this please let me know if there's a problem :)
There would be something needed to stop pack 1 from charging when it's full, but lets pack 2 charge until it's full too (and vice versa).
Thanks for your help 😅
Well ... Nevermind i kept watching and noticed there would be no way to charge in this circuit 🙈

I am new to scooter. I want to buy one “all round “ for my family… maybe from xiaomi..? Do you recommend one that maybe in the future I can upgrade?
Since I’m Sweden we are restricted to 25kmph I would like to be able to limit the speed.
Hi! Thanks, I would say Xiaomi PRO2 is the best choice in 2021.
Hi were can i get one of them connecter controller from that you added its a needs must 💯👌
Hello! Thank you for this awesome video! One question, this item work on Aovopro ES80?
Hi, unfortunately no
When charging both internal and 12s batteries, rita manual say that internal stop charging when it reach 42v. Can you limit it to 41.2v? I believe 42v is reducing the life spawn of the battery, also original charger is rated at 41.2v
Hi!
Yes, Rita stops charging at 42V, but in fact your battery cells will be charged to approximately 41.4V, because Rita drops ~0.3V and the battery BMS also drops ~0.3V
So, Rita do exactly what you need.
Hi Denis,
I would like to try something very basic: when the internal battery is empty (say 20%), switch off the scooter, unplug the internal battery, connect an external battery, switch on the scooter.
Of course, the internal battery/controller connection should be brought outside, with small extension wires, so as not to have to disassemble the deck each time you want to connect the new battery.
Can it be as simple as that?
Hi, yes, but you must flash a custom firmware to the scooter controller, allowing using batteries without a data line
GENIUS
Man I respect this mod
Thanks)
This is awesome!! But $410 to upgrade. I bought the whole scooter for $329. I would imagine for $199, these would be flying off the shelves! I want it, but not for $410. 😥
Yes, small manufactures are not cost effective. And 18650 cells costs 1.5 times more expensive these times compared to 2020. I agree that is is very expensive mod, but it's really cool =)
AWESOME IDEA.
Very informative video Denis. Forgive me for a stupid question. Does increasing the voltage also increases the power to the motor? I mean can I get my scooter climb hills with a higher voltage battery?
Hi! Yes, it feels more powerful at hills.
@@DenisYurev thanks. That means it's worth trying
You are absolutely a genius! Where could i find the battery and the rita adapter?
Thanks! m365.embedden.com
Hi my friend! Thank you for you effort! Please help me to clarify a doubt, I have a ninebot es4 with 2 36v original batteries, can I plug a 3rd 36v battery? Is there anything else tha has to be done? I'll appreciate your help!
Danis, you are a hero. I have a couple of questions. Can you use the regular 10s battery and increase the speed of the scooter by removing the speed limit in firmware? (and what are the firmware paramiters you recomend? I have the pro version). Second question: With a 12s battery will the speed increase even without custom firmware? I thought the scooter will not go more than 25km/h. Third question: When using the external battery will it increase the charging time exponentially? I guess it will take something like 12hours to charge both batteries.
>I guess it will take something like 12hours to charge both batteries.
Yes
>With a 12s battery will the speed increase even without custom firmware? I thought the scooter will not go more than 25km/h
It will beep an error without a custom firmware. You must flash it to use 12s.
>Can you use the regular 10s battery and increase the speed of the scooter by removing the speed limit in firmware?
Yes, you can increase it a bit. Check this link: m365pro.scooterhacking.org
I can not require any parameters. You must find out this by yourself, otherwise do not change the firmware.
Hello friend. Can you help me? My scooter's battery is 48V 10Ah 480w. And I want to get more range. Can I connect directly extra 48V 20Ah 200-1000w battery to the main battery with parallel connection?
Hi, no, you can not connect a 48V battery directly. Only 36V batteries can be connected in parallel directly via a cheap Y-cable.
Hi. Very interesting project. I see you only connect the external battery with xt connector so how the cells are balancing when charging with the original charger? Keep up the good work!
exernal batteries are equipped with a BMS, which balances cells
Hi Do you think the Xiaomi Essential could be upgraded by replacing the front motor wheel with one from a M365?

I have already Rita with 12s battery!
Question..: Can i conect + 2s or 3s battery in parallel and reach 14s or 15s?
Can Rita handle them and now burn it all??🤔🤔
You say that you are going to do a video with 15s battery...!!💪🤩
Where is it??🧐🧐 It have passed many months! 😴 Come on make it!!🤪🙏
Hi! Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, you can connect 2s or 3s serially with the external battery, but you must be very careful and you must reinforce the controller and cut pink Rita jumper to activate 12s+ batteries support. Otherwise there is a real risk of the controller or Rita explosion.
>You say that you are going to do a video with 15s battery
That's true) Hope I will release it one day. For now I am focused on Rita project.
Now i need this for G30D ^^
It would be epic if you can make Rita work on a Ninebot MAX G30D! I would instantly buy it!
Excellent video Dennis, thank you it was very informative. I would like to know if the Rita can be used for a second battery on a ebike too and also is the Rita similar to the Datex2 d2/d3 device?
Hi! I did a google search, but did not find a "Datex2 d2" or "Datex2 d3" device. So I am not able to compare it with Rita)
At this moment Rita supports Xiaomi e-scooter only, Ninebot e-scooters support is upcoming. I don't have plans to implement ebikes support. But you can try to use something like this aliexpress.com/item/1005003001301142.html if your ebike does not use a regenerative braking
@@DenisYurev Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it. I will try and find out more details on the Datex2 device and share it with you, could be of interest.
@@DenisYurev Hello Dennis, the Datex2 device is a parallel battery adaptor, l saw a video on UA-cam about it.

I overvoltage the battery to for the custom firmware?
Awesome video btw!
Hi, no voltage changes in the firmware are required for a 10s4p battery
After installation, can you leave the scooter plugged in for many days even after charge is complete, like in stock ?
Yes
Thanks! Bol'shoye spasiba !
Hi, loved your video and animations, i can see you really care, keep share the knowledge!
What if i plug only a non original xiaomi battery as main one? Is there a way to emulate bms? Also, how can i make the rear fender light work?
Thank you in advance, my best wishes
Hi!
Yes, you can emulate it, just flash a custom firmware such as XiaoDash or ScooterHacking and check the emulation option
Connect the rear light positive lead to the scooter controller pin which normally goes to the green wire of the original battery. Connect the rear light negative to the fat black power cable going from the battery to the scooter controller.
@@DenisYurev thank you so very much, man!
I really appreciate it
Hi Denis! respect for your hard work and deep knowledge on electronics. Just a couple questions: 1.If I want to add a 10s2p battery in paralel to the original one of my PRO2, with a Y cable would be enough (instead of Rita), right?. 2. If the battery capacity is not an issue, but the acceleration and max speed is, would the serial connection be more recommended? do you have any videos concerning this type of connection? Thanks!
Hi, you may add a 10s2p via an y-cable, Rita is not equired. Just rememeber that batteries voltages must be equal at the moment of paralleling. Serial connection would increase speed and accceleration, I don't have videos related to this mod, because I personally don't like it.
Excellent video thanks
You are welcome!
did you make this video in russian first and then added the english version over it?
i would say you "dubbed over it in english" but i definitely heard russian words numerous times throughout the vid.
Hi, you are right, I made this video in russian first and then added the english version over it
Now that's cool!
Bravo explanation
This is a great vid but my head is spinning a bit being not a technical person. If I get an exact replacement from manufacturer of the original battery, can I hook them up in parallel with a Y splitter? Or will the regenerative braking cause problems still? Have a Hiboy S2 Pro (basically M365 Pro). As long as you don't use the e-brake when both are fully charged, it should be fine, right?
Hi, there are no problems with regenerative braking at all when using the y-cable, because the original battery never gets "closed" for the charging current via its discharge output.
In short, you may use any 10s(36V) battery via the y-cable, but keep in mind it will be charged via its discharging port, so a common port BMS equipped batteries are required, because they are able to manage charging process via its charge+discharge output, while separate port BMS are not able to interrupt charging in case of overvoltage or disbalance, so must be used carefully.
Hey, nice work.
Can you help me with my question?
The internal battery is protected by the BMS.
Has Rita some kind of fuse or overcurrent protection for the external battery?
I am planing to buy the complete kit with the standard voltage batteries for the Xiaomi Mi Pro 2.
Hi! Rita has internal 2*20A fuses at each power input.
You’re overcharging the internal battery the external battery is pushing more votes to the internal battery so if you have a 36 V battery in your pushing 48 ball battery the 48 v external battery is going to want to make the 36 V battery go up to match the same voltage and bring down the 48 ball as well so you’re gonna damage both batteries in the process and create an fire
Hello friend, good work made by you! This works for m365 essential?
