Couple things I'd like to mention... tossing a ratchet strap on when you're unbalanced on the lift is always a good idea, 2nd thing is I'd suggest making your cantilever pivot point double shear... it's going to see a lot of stress. I've been watching your channel for years now... your fab skills have improved drastically. I'm very impressed.
It kills me to see you install a stock type oil filters on the Volvo an drift truck , they both need duel racing type filters an the Volvo possible a 3-5 micron bypass system just because of your road tripes . You got metal going thru the Volvo filter already remember !
If you gotta throw together a 30 minute montage of the rest if your to-do list, that is totally fine if it gives you more time to build before your event.
U were absolutely right replying to my last comment, there is so much content in this video as well. I think it's crazy how much u get done on ur own in a week. And then also editing the videos and uploading. Maaad respect💪💪💪
Nice job on properly sealing in all your metal work! I come from a automotive paint background, so I can always tell when someone’s doing it the right way or there hacking it. So hats off to you sir!
I think I can say for us all that, we cannot wait to hear you fire up the ole' Drift Truck V2.0. It's going to sound even more brutal now that it's got that VMP Supercharger paired to the 1UZ.
Thanks for addressing the rear coilover top hat issue. But, I still think a double eyelet design would be the better choice. It should be a stronger, simpler mount with only 2 tabs needed on each side, welded to the rear bar.
Hear me out. Why didn’t you just move the wheelbase a little forward on the front subframe. I feel like it’s gonna be really awkward trying to pedal dance with the pedal box where it is
I wanted the wheels to line up with the factory fenders. And at this point it’s way too late to change that. I’ll make the pedal box work one way or another!
You know the only thing that sux about this build? .. it's so nice and so much time effort and designing into it that I don't wanna see it take a hit or wall tap or any of that 😅... much love and respect Caleb my brotha peace love , keep it rad , stay safe and build on fam .. l8z and always have fun
Watching this video just made me think, this is only the beginning for gingium, every video I watch he’s learning something new, just seeing how far he’s come just gets me buzzing for how far he’s going to go. Absolutely love these videos bro
Your fabrication is absolutely insane. Seeing you come from forza boi (like me) to fab daddy is absolutely nuts. Im working towards this myself but i cannot wait to be at your level.
Running, driving, and heavy drifting capable in two weeks? You'll be pulling some tough work days. Good luck to you! Can't wait to see this truck rip it up.
Welds are looking great! Also, if you want to TIG things in place, look into getting a TIG button. It basically changes the foot pedal into a button on the torch that you can press with your finger. I've seen a couple youtubers saying it's a game changer. From personal experience, it sounds much better than having to sit in one spot to do all your welds and lets you stay on your feet.
@@fiisho i understand what you do with it can make it worth it or not. If you're still learning or you sit in the same spot to weld small things all the time, then i could see how a button wouldn't make sense. But if anything else, and it works well enough, i'd say it logistically should be worth it.
Hey bro. I’m not sure HOW close the wheel was to the wheel well at full lock. You said it was very close in the air. But do keep in mind When the car is on track and under load. Your going tk have even less clearance. Hopefully it doesn’t rub! And hopefully you make it to FDD. I drive the blue e30 that was there last year. See ya out there 🤙
Hey man great progress ! Just a thought I wanted to share - if you can I’d reinforce the wheel well or preferably add some sort of anti intrusion bar The small area your feet are in and the fact they are directly in the wheel well just concerned me in case you take a hit and lose the wheel / ball joint / lower arm We had a wheel clean punch into the wheel well and push the pedal box back on an s14a we had after an off
Dude I would kill to be on your level. I have a new glove box for one of my cars because the door broke 6 years ago. Still haven't installed it. Real life is just too time consuming and expensive to do what I really want to do.
You’re so close to getting this bad boy done, don’t let up! Get it drivable for the event and then you can take the time to get it complete after the fact. I’ll be patiently waiting for each video 😊
You do some good work - But... That seating / foot position & pedal box is an awful compromise. You should have put the rear cab cage on the outside. You still should move the driver side horizontal bar. And you should soften the edge of the wheel well, as your foot will catch it. Often!
It has been said many times by others but I hope you make a pivot point for the rear shock top-hats. The part on the other side (I don't know the name for it since English isn't my first language) moves in an arc so the shock needs to move with it.
You better be going to the LZ invitational. You and LZ used to make videos way back in the day, why not full circle back around and bring Molly and the drift truck to Orlando for that?????
with the time crunch, Id prefer to see a long video of this as long as by the end of it the truck is complete but thats just my preference looks good so far but man that foot well looks like a tight squeeze for sure
will be cool to see the truck in action at fall double down! i live across town from your shop and see your volvo and the fit parked there sometimes but never seen the truck. ill be down there this weekend with my friend, should be a great time :)
Okay listen to me guys... I had this thought about Gingium on his last episode and that is that he monologues his progress during his videos just like Sam Sulek 🤣🤣 ever since I thought that I can't un-think it. "So we're just gonna finish welding this piece here and paint it. Now, step back and look at that. Freaking badass" lmao
Those "steering setscrews" are supposed to go INTO the shaft a bit, not just press against it. You need to drill into the shaft so they have something to go into. Otherwise, they will back out.
I'm not that convinced with the proximity of the steering shaft toward the pedals. It seems rather sketchy to me... I hope you reconsider this location before something unfortunate happens (e.g. the fiery Eclipse). But still, I love your videos!
Honest question: why does it need such wide wheels in the front? Will it understeer if you fit more narrow wheels in the front? Asking this cause I think it will be awkward with the current pedals to move your feet around in that space
I’m no expert, but something tells me that floorpan isn’t gonna hold to the stress from the pedals. Just seems like it’ll deform from repeated clutch kicks and whatnot. Like I said, I’m no expert, I could be completely wrong.
Some people are having really serious reactions to lion's mane, similar to post-finasteride syndrome. I suggest reading into this before promoting products containing lion's mane in the future. I get that ads pay the bills for you, but wanted to raise this nonetheless. Love your channel bro ❤
Aren’t those pedals designed to be mounted topside? I’m not sure obviously but why the hell not? Looks a lot easier and they’re fly-by-wire anyway, aren’t they.

if you ever experience the car lifting off the hoist again, just ratchet strap the vehicle to the lift arms.

Those wheel wells need some sort of anti intrusion, that sheet metal isnt going to stop the wheel from crushing that area
Running, driving, and heavy drifting capable in two weeks? You'll be pulling some tough work days. Good luck to you! Can't wait to see this truck rip it up.
Worked 17 hours yesterday. I’m gonna make this happen 😎
Put airjacks on it and use the oem fuel door on the bed to activate them 😎

I actually swapped from a button to a pedal as i found it alot easier to modulate the heat

Gingium I seen u this weekend great driving bro
Such a sick build! Can’t Waite to see it all finished!
You want something more durable then paint for things like the rear end. POR15, way more durable then spray paint.
You got a welding coat!
I'm not that convinced with the proximity of the steering shaft toward the pedals. It seems rather sketchy to me... I hope you reconsider this location before something unfortunate happens (e.g. the fiery Eclipse). But still, I love your videos!

I can see that radiator causing issues too so much burnt rubber and grime ect is gonna be thrown up into it
Hopefully it’s diled by V5 build
