    You forgot to mention that if you set the flash in ETTL mode and the Camera also in ETTL mode setting, you can fully control the flash power from your camera. It is the simple way to use the 430EX for a beginner

    Thank you. I’ve had my Speedlite for nearly 2 years and never used it (don’t ask). I’ve taken it out as I want to take pics of students in a school where I work and I’m tired of the average pics taken on my iPhone. This video has given me the basics and some confidence to take my camera to school.

    Very nice flash indeed, it has both E-TTL and Manual mode, and it's also able to be fired remotely. It also provides fast shutter support (which many cameras won't BTW). It is a nice all around flash that will cover all the needs of 95% of ppl out there

    Hi are you able to explain the zoom feature when the flash head is angled directly ahead, when you zoom the lens it adjusts the flash to work at that zoom range. It does this when you press and hold the zoom button.

    Thanks for this video, is there away to set the flash to respond quicker when using a A receiver and a transmuter to control it externally? For example when i take a picture i have to wait 4 to 5 or 10 sec for the red light on flash to come back on.

    • @paulopannuzzo316
      @paulopannuzzo316 3 роки тому

      That can be improved by using NiMH batteries (e.g. Rechargeable Panasonic Eneloop) they help to deliver roughly the same power throughout the battery life. Of course, it won't immediately recharge the flash (turn on the red light) but keeps a decent and stable timing. I have around 1-2 seconds while using 1/4 of the power.
      Another option is to use a battery pack, but that just adds a lot of costs and weight.

      Sounds like you need to send it away for repairs. Probably best to contact Canon or a local camera store to facilitate the repair.

      The light always stays red, and the little one underneath flashes green after you take the picture. If you push on the red light you can test to see if it flashes.

    • @kbailey4444
      @kbailey4444 4 роки тому

      I just googled this and found out that the screen is flashing all the time because you have the diffuser at the top out. Just put it away and it stops flashing. Go figure.

    My ETTL etc just flashes all the time. How do you make it solid.

    • @OrionMediaGroup
      @OrionMediaGroup  4 роки тому +1

      This is not a continuous light, you can't make it always on. It's designed to just flash.

    • @crowne

      It means your pull out diffuser is not tucked back in fully.
