    Ray ovac rechargeable batteries work great with this and 600ex rt flash. Quick recycling and recharge them thousands of times. Wal-mart sells them 8 pk aa for less than $8.00 and a (charger and 2 pk aa batteries) for about $14.00.

    I did order the Canon 430EX-III RT and used it yesterday during a professional shoot. I was at a reception where I only photographed at single shots but at a very fast rate. It was a bit dark and the flash was set at +1/3th over power @400 ISO. It was fast in the beginning but after 25 shots it did overheat already. Getting lower in power was not an option but since it kept overheating I did have to go up to 1000 ISO at normal power. I was photographing with another photographer that used a Metz Mecablitz 58AF-2 and she didn't have a problem at all. That flash is more powerful, but it didn't shut down ever due to overpowering the flash unit. I screwed up the shoot partly because I could not capture everything in time. Later on when the flash was cooled off a bit I only shot at the higher ISO 1000 because having a noisy shot is always better than not having a well lit shot at all. I ordered a Metz Mecablitz 58-A myself yesterday and will use the Canon for slow photography with my Canon Eos 550D since I could not get a shot well lit indirectly with bouncer on it, even at 800 ISO.

    Hi Izzy, wonderful video as usual! Question: I am an absolute beginner at flash photography and I am trying to understand if, besides buying the canon transmitter and 2 430EX-RTs, there is an equally relatively simple (and maybe less expensive) system or series of individual components that would allow me to trigger 1 or 2 off camera flashes without firing the on camera flash. I have a Canon 800D/T7i. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  6 років тому

      Hi Idilia, the only way to trigger them us with the trigger set, and our Altura Photo trigger set for Canon can work with them too, they are the much cheaper option from the Canon OEM.

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  7 років тому

      Hi Sandra! First, set the camera to Program Auto (P). Access the main menu and select Flash Control. Select Built-in Flash Func. Settings and Choose the EasyWireless Mode. The camera should be set to channel 1. On the flash press the left button on the thumb wheel, and select the slave mode. Once the flash and the camera are set-up you are ready to go. Remember the built-in flash must be up for this to work.

      peter harris, Izzy has many viewers liked and gave him nice comments.
      You should have gotten those ATG Gold flashes, but then they are not cheap.
      And lucky you didn't get the Canon 600EX-RT or Canon 600EX II-RT.
      Because many advanced flash photographers are lost on how to it correctly.
      But if the got a Sony flash.
      Well, even a rocket scientist will be lost reading the manual.
      ATG and Gary Friedman were lost when reading Sony's manuals.
      Look up and buy one of Gary's ebooks.
      Why not fly or stop by at the store when you are in Miami, Florida?
      Not many fine/nice camera stores are around in the USA.
      Ever run a company or own a business?
      Can't pleased everyone.

    Hi, can this flash be triggered remotely from EOS R using the built in wireless comms of the camera? Thanks.

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  4 роки тому +1

      Hello Dave Gaskell. That's a great question and I myself hope that it could be implemented into the camera bodies. But for right now, you would have to use either the Canon ST-E3-RT radio transmitter, 600 EX II RT, or an additional 430 EX III RT. If you purchase an additional flash, it could be set up to just trigger the off-camera speedlite without emitting a flash itself.

    Is this light able to stay on while recording videos in the night time environments such as a private garden in the country environment, with no city lights? Is this light able to stay on like a porch light while recording? or flash only for photographs?

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, Mantis views29. This is strictly a flash unit that emits a quick burst of light. If you are looking for a flash that has a constant light source, we would recommend the Canon Speedlite 320 EX. Keep in mind that this source of continuous light won't be as bright as a dedicated on camera video light. Thanks for watching!

    how can i trigger this wirelessly from a canon 5d mk iv?

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  7 років тому

      There are a couple of options. If want to operate the flash wirelessly with TTL you could (1) purchase the ST-E3 RT radio remote trigger from canon. (2) Purchase Altura Photo APC-958x Flash, this flash will allow you to trigger the 430 ex iii rt wirelessly via the optical system. (3) for non-TTL there is the Altura Photo wireless flash transmitter receiver kit.

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  4 роки тому

      Hello, lachlan harrison. You have a couple options if you want to control this flash off-camera without a flash on-camera effecting the overall exposure. You would need to purchase with either an additional 430EX III RT or the ST-E3 RT remote trigger. Since the latter is just a trigger you don't need to worry about a flash firing from the camera. If you go with an additional 430EX III RT, you would need to activate it as a wireless commander and deactivate the flash from firing using the menu option. Thanks for watching!

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  7 років тому

      Hi Ivan, If you are setting the 430 EX III RT to slave mode you have 5 different groups to choose from. You have groups a,b,c,d,e. You will have to set each remote flash to a different group (not channel). Once you do that, you could control each flash from the master, so if you have one flash set to a, one on b, and one on c, you could deactivate b and c to change the group when the flash is set to remote press the SEL/Set button and highlight the letter on the screen and you will be able to scroll through the different groups.

      You must not know much about this flash to have said those comments.
      This as well as the ATG Gold, Canon 600EX-RT & Canon 600EX II-RT have dual wireless modes.
      1. ATG ETTLII/M 2.4GHz in Master or Slave.
      2. Wireless IR ETTL II/M in Master or Slave.
      3. All Canon including all other camera brands do not have ATG 2.4GHz built-in
      Try buying another one of flashes mentioned then come back and reply that you were wrong.
      Then park either one on your EOS-77D's hotshoe... but then you may complain that you don't know how to set them up to work...You wouldn't be the only one not knowing.
