  • Roxy Music - Take a chance with me 1982
As they say, two can play
But keep that song away from me
In my time too much love
Has made me sad for so long
I was blind, can´t you see
    Through the long lonely night
    Heaven knows, I believe
Won´t you take a chance with me
    Sometimes I get so blue
People say I´m just a fool
    All the world, even you
Should learn to love the way I do
I was lost, can´t you see
    Through the long lonely night
    Heaven knows, I believe
Won't you take a chance with me
Won't you take a chance with me

It's been more than 2 years since I discovered this album and I'm incapable of not listening to it every week, it's totally hypnotic, it makes me feel good every time, it gets me out of this sometimes very ugly world. It's a jewel nothing less.

This melodic love number is probably my favorite Roxy Music song! I liked them almost from the beginning, but funny, this is the one I want to hear the most. Their early work is stultifyingly fabulous and when this came out I thought, uh oh ... they're still amazing. I got all the solo albums from the members, too. I still have it all. These are among the vinyl records I still keep pulling out and playing, decades later. I like the muppet thing over to the right grooving out. Hee hee hee! What is that?

    • @qualqui
      @qualqui 10 років тому

AWESOME Band my dear buddy, what a collection of vinyl records you must have, 45s 33!/3 and what was the other rpm, 78? I am glad i haven't thrown out my 45s, don't have many 33s, funny how these vinyl records are still playing, when the cassettes and the 8 tracks went the way of the dodo bird,...ah, reminds that muppet rockin' to Roxy Music, looks kinda like a cat, A COOL CAT with great taste in Rock VIbes,..hehhehehe!!! XD

Please, feel better, - it's been 5 years, but if you WITNESS the dawn, watch some little birds playing, walk in the WOODS while they're still here, stand on the shore and watch the ocean - I PRAY you will feel the MAJESTY of everything. Maybe take a look at HENRY DAVID THOREAU - "WALDEN" - a book from a man who left the city to live in the magic of nature and it changed HIM and his LIFE.
The way you write, I sense that you could write POETRY. GodBlessYou

Close...it was "David Byrne" with Talking Heads...but that band was not just a "one hit" wonder...they were genius!!! Loved 'em! Heck: I've got a playlist for 'em :-) Yes...often "weird and wonderful"...but they were classic as well "Burning down the House", "Take Me to the River"...it goes on and on...they had a huge body of work. "Life in Wartime" is my fave. Frantic and compelling rhythms....great to work out to. LOVE me some Talking Heads!!! :-)

What is strange, Bryan never sang this song in his concerts..I wonder why...Yes, it is a little difform by his melodic melodies (this is just melodic-beat, and i come from beat years, as i like sound-sonority, yes, as now i write songs). Naturally, any his song, in concert is awesome, also that seems stupid in a record, instead at live, they get a great feel and sonority..
