Bryan Ferry's voice still melts me! Even after all these years. He could be singing a grocery list & I'd be reduced to a puddle. Yeah! 😍😻
Same
And me. I melted in 1972- never managed to recover.. 😉😉❤️❤️🥂🥂🥂🥂
yes, he turns me into a warm little puddle of amour..
Bryan Ferry is like a tall glass of ice water in a drought!
😂 ... I know what you mean, it has the same effect on me !!!
Better theology than alot of sermons I've heard....a Masterpiece... but It's Roxy Music... what do you expect?
Yea , Man ! And thank you for knowing the difference between Than and Then.
@@lornebailey1568 Well, back in 1974, (I was in second grade!) teachers taught English better THEN, ...THAN, they do now. ....THEY'RE seemingly less educated now than THEIR predecessors....☮👍
This one took a long time to grow on me, I had the album when it first came out but did not care for this song back then. I tended to like their fast paced songs only back then. This is now one of my favorites of theirs. My taste in music has matured as I've gotten older.
Impossible to imagine anyone coming up with something as bizarrely brilliant and original as this today.
Sure,,,,swiftly taylor
Noone!!!
Completely out of this world yet still there in your soul body and mind. Sheer genius
Oh my God what a performance. One of their best songs, very underrated
There is so much rubbish written about artists and records being underrated. Who, listening to this, has underrated it?
@@johnenglish929 answering your question: the public, obviously. songs' destiny is usually defined by so many factors of the industry. contemporaries often fail to recognise a great song. i would give two examples that i like from bowies catalogue: man who sold the world and moonage daydream. the former was an obscure forgotten number elevated by cobains mtv unplugged performance and is now considered one of bowies finest songs. the latter was initially considered just one the ziggys fine louder rockers, never was released as a single, but 50 years after release, being vastly covered, appearing in numerous soundtracks, it has become the second most popular song on the album after starman.
i think that psalm is incredible and deserves more recognition. hopefully this will happen as it did with mother of pearl. but who knows.
take care! cheers from Russia!
in my opinion it never was underrated - the first three albums of RM were amazing ...
@@MrSebboxxx I agree - only I would have said the first five!
I remember buying this album back in 74 and it still sounds as great as when i first listened to it. Psalm is brilliant and so is this live version. Always loved Roxy, they were so unique... Never to be repeated.
My Favourite band forever and ever 👍 Roxy Music = ❤👍
same for me
@@carolinagjeltema9431 Ok I agree with you 👍❤
Me too !!! RM give our positive life, when we're sad, listen to Psalm..... Brian Ferry.... heavenly !!!
@@AndreVermaat 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I love Psalm! So so cool and the tambourine! There never will be a group like roxy again!
Exactly PSALM
Agree, and tambourine just zen moment, totally turns the brain❤🎉
Absolutely Brilliant. This coming from Me .. an atheist. There's hope they say. This could be my new favourite from him, after Running Wild
@@Yuri-iz3cd Out of nowhere.
this song is a real wonder ....
This live version is the absolute best - Stranded is an overlooked classic.
Overlooked by who ?
Absolute brilliance.
Slick as oil, unique as a diamond.
Thank you Roxy Music for your brilliance ❤.
With the talented influencial Eddie Jobson. Probably Roxy Music's most haunting spiritual song. You can easily lose yourself in this and a spliff. I did in 74! 😋
'Stranded' is a total masterpiece.
The cover in particular . I still have my copy from 73 and hoping to get Marilyn to sign it soon all these years later
pure, raw and a great track. Never gets the admiration it deserves, emotinal and spiritual . Viva Roxy
This is FOREVER my best music, everydays i listen to Roxy Music and never i get boring. The most beautiful song with Psalm !! I Love them.
Saw them at the Rainbow Theatre in London 1974, just before Eno left…stunning and unique performance ✨
I am just amazed at the talent of this band. I love rediscovering them every now and then.
"If there is something" is a masterpiece
If you are looking for an argument, you will get none from me.
Yes , my man. 🤝

You've forgotten Sea Breezes.
On all the first 4 albums together there are not more than 2, 3 not so good pieces. They are all so good that it is hard to say which is the best. But there are some songs that stick out far above, and If There is Something is one of them.
The emotional way he sung at this time was utter brilliance. But I love also the bass and the drums. Gorgeous.
You can just hear the gospel church choir singing this on a hot sultry Mississippi summer Sunday morning.
This whole era of Roxy was such a defining period in my life....I wish I could put it into words but whenever i hear this album it transports me back into that time like it was yesterday. Does anyone else feel the same?
Yo....recien la escucho X primera vez y me encanto...!!!! Tenía 29 años en 1974...!!! Como la foto...!! 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😁🎼🎶🎵🎶🎼🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵🎸🎤🅰🅱:-)
Adorably Beautiful! I love you Roxy Music and all the good you represent.
"A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good... for out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks.
Jesus Christ 💗
Amen!☝☮✝♾
I rest in this song. Its where I find the most comfort. This live moment it’s everything
Brian if only you knew how many times in my life you helped save it. Thanks and God bless.
Peace to you!
Not religious, but I LOVE this song, bought all the albums at the time, songs are AMAZING.
Thanks Brian.
Brilliant album......but all of them are. I'm trying on my smile now watching this gorgeous man....😉😉❤️❤️🥂🥂🥂
The band, the myth, the legend
Along with Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" one of the most spiritual songs in the history of pop music! ❤👍
Psalm, Just Like You and Mother of Pearl are my favourite tracks from Stranded. Pure perfection.
THAT Song is as Old as Me..50 yrs ago..😒😒💜💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Crazy to think. I’m 32 discovers it one night when I was 20. I can never articulate how much it means to me, so I won’t try. Here’s to 50 years more of people being able to discover and find themselves in this great art.
Full Lyrics:
Try on your love
Like a new dress
The fit and the cut
Your friends to impress
Try on your smile,
Square on your face
Showing affection
Should be no disgrace
Try out your God
Hope He will send
Kindness from strangers
On whom you depend
Try on His coat
A mantle most fine
Myriad colors
His harmony-thine
Believe in me
Once seemed a good line
Now belief in Jesus
Is faith more sublime
Head in the clouds
But I can't see the Lord
Short of perfection
I'll try to be good
I'll stand at His gate
I'll wait for His sign
Then I'll walk in His garden
When it's my time
Drink from His cup
Hush now don't you cry
His quiet waters
Will never, never run dry
Nearing death's vale
He's here by my side
He leads me to paradise
A mountain so high
Don't be afraid
Just treasure His word
Singing His praises
I know that I'll be heard
He's gonna take you by the hand
He's gonna make you feel so good
Open up your eyes
And then you'll see all that you should
Forget all your troubles
You will feel no pain
He's all that you need
He's your everything
When I'm feeling all at sea
Deliverance is that distant shore
I will not be worried
Someday His house will be my home
For ever more
Thanx for words! First heard in 1975, later got that this is essential song in album
Thank you sincerely. 😊
EXCELLENT!!❤
Beautiful....I would be highly honored if Mr ferry would sing some of my songs when I meet him in heaven or perhaps he could give me some singing lessons so I can do it myself
I heard the LP so often that I know every single word ...
gods bless roxy music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the bit at 6:20, when someone throws him a tambourine!
It's extraordinary music and I had the great pleasure of watching RM live back in the 70s in Liverpool, Manchester & London; priceless memories; takes me right back when we were young!
Für mich der beste und schönste Musiker. Er hat mich mit seiner Stimme und seiner Ausstrahlung und mit seinen Texten durch mein Leben begleitet. ❤
Psalm is on my funeral party play list.
If I have to say so myself it's a damn good list, it's just a pity I won't be there to hear it!!!
When it's my time
Drink from His cup
Hush now don't you cry
His quiet waters
Will never, never run dry.....
It's on mine as well. I want it played at my funeral along with Triptych.
@@davidg.808 Great choice David G.
Country life, was a work of art!!!
You know what song I want played at my funeral? All of 'em!
the lyrics are amazing ...
A great live version, Amen.
This is why they were the best band ever ...
This is the first time I've heard/seen this, as I only got into music/hi-fi perhaps 5 years later & am now hungry to fill the void of what I'd previously been ignorant of.
Bryan is my all-time favourite artist. He exudes class and is uniquely talented/creative & for years, has respected/enjoyed his fellow musicians by letting them take centre stage to showcase their amazing talents. 👍❤
Left his wife after many years...He needs to pray now, ok...I just hope lust and sex did not take him away from his 4 sons mother...Amen+++
I never have commented so early on such a great video. This is amazing! I mean the video, not my posting rank.
Ich war damals 12 Jahre alt und schon in Roxy Music verliebt! Was für ein geiler Song!
🎶Someday His House will be my Home…Forever, Forever More!🎶
ALL HAIL BRYAN FERRY AND ROXY MUSIC 💜🤘🏿
Magnificent!
🙏🏻❤️ many thanks Roxy Music!
The creme de la creme of art rock...
wonderful music with lovely voice 🎹🎶💥♥️💥thank you so much👏🥀
He/they give such sublime style to every song!
They had some balls, nothing like this was being played, Berlin meets Soho soundish. It worked so well!
The build in this swells into infamy! Love and cherish this
What a great song this is ... if I could I would make a cover in 2024 🙂
Spiritual jam. George Harrison would approve. Forever more.
Don in Chicago
I just L O V E this, it's just so mesmerizing 🥰
Brilliant!!
What a gift today! xoxo🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
All of those years ago putting on this album for the first time and I hear this.
It's been a quiet gulity pleasure ( again, over the years ) of trying to assess what Bryan was truly reaching for in this song, after all This is Bryan Ferry. Now, please don't be offended, I have long ago left as a beliver to, but this song still moves me.
Viva La Roxy!!
Funny when he first came on and said here's another one and laughed 😅 and being in like in a pub on a Saturday nite 😅..just love him
Excellent performance. Good job he caught that tambourine!
Agree! Tambourine was EXCELLENT
Such a Solid unit great band
OMG !
What a Wonderfull group and Brian has the voice that is unforgettable. I Love this song.
Short of perfection, I’ll try to be good
Bryan The MAESTRO!
Stunning
Uplifting, strong lyrics, on great Stranded lp, 1973.
Ferry & Bowie peak, Alladin Sane.

Excellent❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Genius! Thats a messige
Hot Group forevermore
Andy MacKay did improve over the years.
He’s actually a great musician. This performance might not be the best example. Maybe the mix was too much on the sax. But what a great moment captured.
I'm a fan, but I don't think i've heard this one before. Bryan doing a gospel song, and it's his own.I like it.
This is the very first song that he wrote, but never quite finish until the ‘Stranded’ album.
This is decidedly better than the album version. A bit more uptempo which really makes a difference. Has a quite a bit more funk and shake and fun to it.
Amen

👍👍
Yep!! Just believe in Jesus Christ and he will help you in all difficulties, in blessings, don't forget to be grateful. Never give up, always look to the sky!
Don't lose the meaning focus which is your salvation and eternal life in the kingdom of God .
Amen! ☝☮✝♾
If you’re there I’ll pass thanks.😊
The new Bolero
The amazing flying tambourine! ua-cam.com/video/bGGAV3u8974/v-deo.html
That is great!
To the one who humbles himself before The Lord much will be given. And what was Bryan Ferry given? Whell, when the likes of David Bowie was ever trembling at the release of Ferry's latest recording, as far as the art is concerned, that pretty much sums it up.
Just empty and essential like today's songs but definitely more classy!! Just made it in 1974.
This runs 8 plus minutes and it isn't long enough.
Killer groove. Most bands could base a career on this one here. RM tosses it off as album filler, if you will.
To have seen them in the early 70's....
than I walk in his garden ...
Not familiar with the keyboard player or the bassist. Can anyone name them definitively? Thanks. Love this version.
Jon Gustfson - Bass. Eddie Jobson Keyboards. Andy Mackay - keyboards (treatments)
Thanks Gavin
@@gavinabbott7951 Gustaffson was the bass player on the recorded album but the bass player in this and many other live performances was Sal Maida.
Class act, always
