@user-db8ix3dl3d Friend, I am 58 and for me age does not exist. This song gives me great pleasure every time I listen to it.Roxy music had a musical style that was very ahead of its time.
57 - ditto - lived and loved this phenomenal era of rock music evolution - blessed to have seen them live - take care from beautiful Esperance, Western Australia (presently COVID-19 free)
Great Album Great movie Leave Her To Heaven Cornel Wilde and Gene Tierney Jeanne Crain Film Noir Circa 1945...I love the movie and Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music ♥️🇦🇺😎
This is my favourite Roxy Music song, and I’m talking as someone who saw them support Bowie in Croydon on 25th June 1972, for which they were paid £10. Why is it so underrated?
As they say, two can play But keep that song away from me In my time, too much love Has made me sad for so long I was blind, can't you see Through the long, lonely night Heaven knows I believe Won't you take a chance with me Sometimes I get so blue People say I'm just a fool All the world, even you Should learn to love the way I do I was lost, can't you see Through the long, lonely night Haven knows, I believe You can take a chance with me
Love this man, such an artist. Saw him many years ago, came out in stage with these ugly cream pleated pants and a green shoulder padded jacket with silver studs on it that would have liked so bad on anyone else, yet looked amazing on him because his style and charisma just shone through. A class act indeed. Talent beyond words.
Saw him twice on the 2010's , one time he wore a cape over a beautiful dinner jacket of dark maroon and black embroidery, I've been looking for that jacket ever since
I have no idea what nutcase concocted these film clips along with this song. But they've managed to create a tiny piece of perfection. I thank you. No, really.
An absolutely brilliant album, catchy, seductive, timeless, add to that the magnificent voice of Bryan Ferry and you have one of the most accomplished albums in the history of music.
Though I knew and loved some Roxy Music decades ago, I got to this song via an old "home" video of Japan's bass player Mick Karn trying to eat while also singing along to part of this song. Notably NOT David Sylvian. ;) A happy random discovery.
This is such a beautiful song. I've just got the vynal from Bryan ferry from my sister to give as a gift to a very dear friend. This song tells it when you love old fashioned way.
Brings back happy memories, my daughter smiling and blabbing along to this track.Thank you for reminding me of the good times especially in these terrible times.🌠😷🎶
Such a great song and recording. For another version, check out Phil Manzanera's Sound of Blue Band live, when Sonia Bernardo was doing the vocals on that tour. It's on video, and Sonia's vocals are dynamic next to Phil's guitar work.
DM are quite overrated. RM and DD are both very underrated. The media have just begun celebrating Duran and it's for their current trend consciousness not their greatest music.
Hi again, Steve. Thanks, glad you enjoy these. I've got two Roxy Music edits to publish, probably this year. I've had them unfinished for over a year now, which is unusual. In every dream home and Sunset. : )
@@IWASBINDCANTUC Both were published, one taken down but you've seen them both. I haven't felt like doing anymore videos since then because there isn't much reason for it. I'd rather focus on my own creative stuff including music.
I always picture Roxy Music videos as being on a Yacht in the Caribbean, or on an exotic Greek island with tall Roman pillars, wearing Tuxedos and dancing the night away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
That's because they faked it until they made it. They hired attractive models to lip sync their songs on stage. Everyone was a bit exotic in that band but for their drummer. As far as drumming: OUT OF THE BLUE is a unique song as the drum beat isn't on 2&4 but 3&4. Makes the whole song.
One of the greatest albums ever made! Eternal stuff!
So right about Roxy Music's AVALON album
Stunning. Eternal.
One of my favourite albums.
a Hauntingly beautiful intro to this song.
Agreed ... I have been playing it on heavy repeat ALL weekend ~ ⭐ !!!
Truly. If I had to choose just one album to listen to… this and London Calling by The Clash
I am 60 years old and this song makes me young again. What s gem..
I am 60 today!

This song is so well composed, I love those mysterious guitar riffs in the chorus that follow the synths
The great Phil Manzanera

Absolute masterpiece!
I was blind can't you see?
Makes me feel so good. Love Bryan and his amazing music.
It gives meaning to life .
Life is nothing without music.
Still one of my favourite Roxy Music tracks and there are many. 😊
Love the hook at 1:20. It's just so suave, like Bryan himself.
I'm 40 and this song makes me cry. ❤

She is so Beautiful 😍 what a wonderful song to go with this clip.

God, that's an ugly tie...but God! It looks GREAT on you!
Saw him twice on the 2010's , one time he wore a cape over a beautiful dinner jacket of dark maroon and black embroidery, I've been looking for that jacket ever since
Best album of all times! Simple.

Aboustley it's a genius of work by bryan
Though I knew and loved some Roxy Music decades ago, I got to this song via an old "home" video of Japan's bass player Mick Karn trying to eat while also singing along to part of this song. Notably NOT David Sylvian. ;) A happy random discovery.
Take a chance with Roxy , I did and never looked back ! Fantastic band !
One of the best interpretation ever!
The film used here is 'Leave Her to Heaven', scores 7.6 on IMDB and is fantastic - a dark study in obsessive, destructive love. Well worth the watch.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Great song; fantastic percussion.
This is such a beautiful song. I've just got the vynal from Bryan ferry from my sister to give as a gift to a very dear friend. This song tells it when you love old fashioned way.
The class of bryan ferry with simple lyrics, is like a gift to our ears. What a stylish song.
This song only crept in to the UK top 30 singles chart. What a shame, because it is a great song.
What a music … what a magical genious… celestial and elegant journey..
A great album and track I played on college radio many times.
Many thanks for posting. Roxy Music were a great band..1982 was a great year for the band. I remember them well, I was 13-years-old.
Brings back happy memories, my daughter smiling and blabbing along to this track.Thank you for reminding me of the good times especially in these terrible times.🌠😷🎶
Just another incredible song by Roxy music and Bryan ferry
Roxy Music's musical style still seems to me to be music from the future.
A song that begs to have a great video and you have done a fine job.
Perfect pairing with the film “Leave her to heaven”, Starring Jeanne Tierney and Cornel Wilde.
gene tierney, cornel wilde, jeanne crain, vincent price, and chill wills.
Avalon is one of the greatest albums ever made
Film is "Leave Her to Heaven". Won Oscar for best color Cinematography, Leon Shamroy, A.S.C.
Thanks
I appreciate it.
I can see why. Thanks for the info.
Timeless Roxy's classic
Una idea genial mezclar esta canción con las imágenes del extraordinario filme de John M. Stahl.

Brilliant Tune! !
Brilliant one of their best
There’s cool…….and then there’s Bryan Ferry cool! There aren’t enough “O’s” in smoooooooooooth when describing Bryan Ferry!

incredible song! So, so beautiful!!!
What a great fucking song from a truly underrated band! You always hear about Mode and Duran! WTF right?
DM are quite overrated. RM and DD are both very underrated. The media have just begun celebrating Duran and it's for their current trend consciousness not their greatest music.

Love it !
She learned to love--the way I do

damn right!
PERFECT.
While I absolutely agree, you also just described a Duran Duran video
