    I have this gun. Be aware it’s striker and safety plunger are prone to contamination from solvent and lubricant. Mine failed after 350 rounds. You need to clean the striker and plunger regularly and leave them completely dry. Also go sparingly with solvent and lube. I use a q-tip to apply both and switched to a dry silicon lube.

    I just got this one new at a pawn shop as I wanted something smaller to carry. Love it so far. My other is an Rock Island M1911A1 chambered in 10mm. Love that gun too, but just a bit big and heavy for me to conceal. Thanks for making the video, I know it can be tough not having top end gear for recording but I appreciated your honesty and your laid back video. Keep up the great work!!!

      How does it conceal with the full size grip?

    • @PeterSteele111
      @PeterSteele111 3 роки тому +1

      @@coreyschmidt734 Pretty well actually. I have the alien gear IWB holster from their shape shift core pack and have it set to sit as low as possible inside my pants. I wear it around the 4 O'clock position and I don't print at all and I am a big dude with lots of curves that push on the grip in ways someone much smaller would not. So it sticks out farther for me than most would, and I can still conceal it just fine. Plus that 20+1 capacity is amazing as well that you get with the full size grip.

      I have a holster that I appendix carry with this gun. For my body as it is bigger I have to have a hoodie on. The newer 3.8 xdm elite compact would be easy to carry.

      is the xdm 3.8 can shoot 2 inch groups in 25 yards?

    • @PeterSteele111
      @PeterSteele111 2 роки тому +1

      @@gutadin5 easily. Has one of the best factory triggers I've ever felt and the match grade barrel makes grouping a breeze. It's is very accurate and controllable. I am actually looking to sell my Glock G20 10mm for one of the new xdm elite 4.5 inch OSP 10mm. They are just that good of a gun out of the box. To get my Glock to the same overall performance and polish as the xdm elite, it would cost probably another 1000 dollars easily for slide modifications like more aerations and an osp cutout, match grade barrel, getting the internal parts polished for smooth operation, trigger guard cut, etc. The xdm provides all this out of the box and for the same price as a stock Glock. Kind of hard to justify Glock at this point with just how excellent these guns are.

    I too have the XD9 M2 9mm
    I love it as well. Wish I could put a noise suppressor on it though, so loud. But I’m from Democrat run Illinois so I don’t think they allow it for me.

      I think you will really like it . I am very accurate with it as I took it to a 2 hour training class I had recently. We did malfunction training and lateral movement training and the gun worked amazing. Great sight picture and trigger. Please let me know what you think about it when you get it. I also got the tlr7a flex for it as a home defense gun and it is an amazing light. I did a video on the light if interested.

    I have 3 XDMs in .40 and a XD in .9mm. I bought the XDME two days ago because of the the new designed trigger advertised. No one in the world supports the XDs like I do (I got rid of all of my Sigs 226, 227, 228, 229s for the XDMs) but the trigger on the XDME isn't any better than any of the triggers on the other XDs. Great gun but I was expecting a much better trigger than on the other XDs.

    • @coreyschmidt734
      @coreyschmidt734 3 роки тому +1

      Interesting you say that about the trigger. I have a 12 year old XD 45 Tactical and a recently purchased XDM Elite Osp 9mm. I can’t say the meta trigger is that much better. I especially find reset isn’t as crisp as on my old XD. I was told by a local instructor the meta trigger really needs about 500 rounds to break in. I’d still be happy with it even if it doesn’t get any better. It’s incredibly accurate and fun to shoot. Hard to fill those 22 round mags though.

    • @baugwan1

      @@gutadin5 Of the two guns I own the XD9 has the better trigger. I'm not impressed with the Elite. I may have a lemon but I'm not a happy camper with the Elite factory trigger.

      This is my first XD so I don’t have any others to compare to. When compared to other stock guns I have tried I felt this trigger was better than a lot of them. Maybe not a change from other XD versions again I can’t compare to that. But I did think it was definitely good out of the box or at least on my gun.

    I almost purchased one today, my only concern is the fiber optic sight. I know it’s built like a tank and is durable, but if that optic pin breaks, gig is up, well temporarily. Just having a hard time committing to it.

      It’s very accurate, and dependable, not much if chance imo if you care for your gun that the site will break or fall out, but new it comes w replacement piece.

      I have had no problems with the fiber optic site and this is my first one. To be fair this is a range/class and main home defense gun. I can’t respond for durability for the fiber optics but with my use I feel confident. This is a great gun.

    Thanks but not Good doing a demo for a gun from that far away, a Black gun against a black shirt, is difficult to distinguish what part of gun your pointing to or touching. I’d suggest next time use a light color shirt.

    They try to say its "the best striker fired trigger possible" which is complete bull. A glock trigger is better, and glock triggers suck lol. A cz p10 series trigger is far better. Walther ppq m2 trigger is also far far better than the elite xdm. Once you hit the wall on the elite, its still a long squishy gritty trigger pull. Best option for it is to switch it out for the powder river trigger. Otherwise, compared to most other striker fired triggers.....the elite trigger is trash.

    • @gutadin5

      I thanks for your thoughts on this. As everyone has their opinion. I do have to disagree as the xdm elite 3.8 trigger is by far better than my gen 5 g19 mos factory trigger. I put a zev pro in my glock and the xd still may be better. On my gun it is not mushy or gritty it is a light crisp trigger pull after hitting the wall. Thanks for your thought everyone will have their own thought and opinions.
