I picked one up last week sportsman's Warehouse has them on sale for$349
I ordered one for that today. They had the 45 last year for 349 also, but claimed sold out and wouldn't transfer from another store. So I figured just get this now. Update- ordered the 8th, picked it up today the 14th. Quicker than I expected.
Just curious...$349+S&H+Tax+FFL = ???? Why not just buy it local or order it through a local gun store?
I am asking because I can't find anything worth buying online that's cheaper once all the fees add up. My FFL is $40.
If you pick up in store it just taxes. No ffl or shipping
A steal
@@bensonhedges5471
LGS have this same gun for $445
Tax 10% = 489.50 + background $10 = $499.50
He will order one .. lets say I find one for $350 .. + 10% tax $370 + $20 transfer = $390 + $10 background = $400
If I order it $350 .. $20 transfer = $370 + $10 background check = $380
Cheapest route
I now own 3 XDM Elite compacts (10 mm, 9 mm and 45 cal.) and a full size 10 mm. All 4 have been accurate, totally reliable, and really fun to shoot.
is it better to buy from the gun shop or buy them from the website because i really want to purchase the compact and the full size gun and call it a day. i want to carry one conceal and keep one at the house for my protection and for my family as well. i don't want to buy no gun for over 700 anything under 700 is straight
@@crayshaunhenderson1265you can usually find deals easier online and have more options. Local shops are good too I would just look around for a good sale
@@crayshaunhenderson1265Palmetto State Armory.. check out their website site. Thank me later.
@@crayshaunhenderson1265
Actually the compact will serve well for both.. being it can use higher capacity mags
I bought this gun a month after it came out the non OSP model and I love it. Its never had a malfunction and I’ve ran every ammo you can think of through it. Very underrated
King of 9mm? You’re going to catch some heat for that! I have a few older XDMs in my household, all very good. Always thought the XDM was underrated, in my opinion. Thanks for the vid!
Facts…. Springfield is in my personal top 3 overall.
@@lowjack8645 I’ve had a bunch of Springfield 9mms over the years. I’ve been very happy with the majority of them, but they don’t usually get much love in the comments.
Springfield needs 30rd magazines then you can put them in the same conversation as Glock
@@brandonmason6702 What exactly do you do with 30 round magazines, just to use at the range mostly?
@@brandonmason6702well they make a 35 oem mag for the XDM now… so there’s that 🤷
Last year I picked up an XDS Mod2 OSP in .45ACP during one of the Springfield gear up promotions. It came with 5 magazines, a Crimson Trace red dot & a range bag, all for about $550. Fantastic handgun- extremely accurate, zero malfunctions, very easy to shoot. I couldn’t be happier with it. I like it so much, in fact, that I’m thinking of getting one of these new XDM Elite OSP Compacts in .45ACP. That version has a 10+1 capacity which works well for the magazine restrictions where I live. I’m just waiting for the next gear up promotion & I’m getting it!
This is a fine & quality firearm that said I prefer my Springfield hellcat, which is my daily carry sidearm.
Thanks for the video. I'm doing my research on buying my first firearm. This helped alot.
Bought the XDM 45 Compact Elite, liked it so much, purchased the same firearm in 9mm with the 3.8” barrel. It has become my favorite 9mm due to a number of factors. It has supplanted my M@P9 compact as my favorite as well, and I thought nothing could do that. It simply does EVERYTHING well. I removed the mag well and improved it even more. The magazines (best production mags from anyone) I discovered not only don’t need the mag well, the matching magazines mate perfectly with the stocks to make it comfortable and excellent fit. Oh, and getting it for $399 didn’t hurt either.
This just became CA compliant. I’m definitely trying this and hopefully this will the one that will be the perfect happy medium of comfort, accuracy, and reliability for me.
Nice video! The compact elite was my first one from the xdm family. Heck of a shooter. And of course being a member of the Croation brotherhood of the XD it's a must in the collection. Can you do a comparison video of the two, the original vs the elite. If I'm not mistaking there was some manufacturing changes as to the way the two where made. Thanks for the video and stay safe
Love my XDM's!!
Love the xdm Elite 3.8....one of my Favorites
I own 2 of the older XDMs, and I now own two of the elite models. Ive always been able to snag them during mag rebates and so I have a plethora of magazines and i shoot these guns better than any other guns I have. These guns have always been fantastic, and I understand that a lot of people are apprehensive about Springfields because of that mishap years ago, but they are very high quality and I personally like the extra weight because it helps to soak up the recoil. Now I will say, if youre looking for a handgun with a fantastic trigger out of the box for less money. Caniks are probably the best. After breaking the triggers in on these XDms though, they can get close.
Great review , I have the .45 ACP gear up version .
I have the older models definitely want this
I'm going to find an empty field and fill it with coil springs and call it Springfield.
Seriously though, I like how Springfield uses steel mags, placing of the slide release and mag release. I held an XD9 side by side with the P10C and P07, and Springfield just felt right.
Thank goodness South Africa has support for both CZ and Springfield. It's just the paperwork that's a bugger
My dad just bought this brand new today. Special pricing from Sportsman's Warehouse got $349.
That’s hilarious because it just popped up on Palmetto’s site for $350 & 2 mags included. Been wanting another one & here comes this beauty. Buying right now.
Ordered mine today also
Very nice review. Wish you would've demonstrated with the mag well removed.
I have this version and it carries easily all day in an (admittedly) not great holster. The weight doesn't bother me, though I understand it may be too much for some. They really pack a lot of features into this gun and I havent had a malfunction yet. Looking at a Tier 1 axis for daily carry.
I liked the XD Mod.2 9mm that had the grip zone grip but I guess SA stopped making them.
Width is perfect. Nothing thinner. Barrel size great. Nothing smaller than 3.4" thanks. Better accuracy needed.
What do you mean about better accuracy?
Great job Mr Hammer Striker did you see my comment on if you know where I can find a spring for a magazine 22 magnum thanks in advance
A lotta good gun for the money and being the best with any pistol is a matter of opinion but personally XD has been a great addition to my collection of carry guns.
Need a review on the 45 acp xdm elite
I love the size, don't love the weight. This is a good "do it all" gun for someone that isn't a glock fan.
Should of already had suppressor height sights if it has a cut
The 3.8" I checked out in the local shop the other day seemed to have a longer grip/different form factor.
Best triggers
PDP
Canik
CZ P-10 c , s , f
XDME
AHSS FXS-9
And honestly so close to the CZ it doesn’t matter
Im a huge fan of the XDM E pistols
Probably the highest quality pistols I own … that includes PDPs , Glocks & CZ’s
It doesn’t have a cheap feel .. even the polymer feels better quality than others
i'm hearing all these good things about the xd-m elite series i want the compact and the full size one for conceal carry and one for just shooting at the range. it's a very beautiful gun but people are telling me i don't need to buy the full size i can just buy the compact and buy the magwell to make it a full size gun and i can also buy those 20 round mags to go with the compact so please help me out you think i can buy them both or just get one
The Springfield Armory XDm Elite OSP Compact 3.8 seems to be very similar to the the Springfield Armory Hellcat / Hellcat Pro series. Choose the best fit for your hand then TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN.
i want to buy 2 of the xdm pistols the compact and the full size i have a big hand so i hope the compact can fit in my hand with no problem
what are the targets you were shooting in the beginning of the video?
Does it work with drum mags
The xdm or xdm elites are good guns I’d put them up against any other gun,
Im guessing my XDM old style 19 round mags will work without issue as they will stick out the bottom a bit. No mag well baseplare interference.
It won't be a problem on the compact model, but the full sized will give you a problem. I have the older full size XDM and a new Elite model and had to remove the magwell in order to use the older 19rd mags.
What open carry holster do you recommend for this? Thanks for the great review
I can make ya an owb
Any recomendations on where to get pinky magazine extensions for the 13 rnd mag?
Loon for Pearce pinky extensions.. I think Amazon still has them.
Good, thx
I just can’t use Glock I’m left handed I like the ambidextrous features Springfield offers with handguns especially xd and XDm what if you can’t you either or hand you would wish you had an ambidextrous pistol
Can you use 19-round and 35-round mags on the XDM Elite 3.8?
Yes, but get the 19-rounder specifically made for the Elite version of the 3.8. Remove the magwell, insert the 19-rounder, and you have a perfect fit. I love it.
Have you found any good iwb holsters for it?
Wholeguns has a decent holster that accommodates this exact pistol plus my TLR-8AG Flex. It's nothing super fancy, but it works and it's inexpensive, so I see no reason to drop $100+ on a holster I may not like. For the price, it's worth a try, got the holster and a mag carrier for just over $50 shipped
How does it compare to the Hellcat?
The false reset is a no buy for me.

@@pcBlacknmild Really? You are butt hurt over my comment? Wow!
If you train enough it isn't a problem.
@@guncafe4183 I agree but why bother when there a so many guns available that are better. The XDM triggers have always been bad. I still haven't forgot that Springfield donated money to anti 2A lobbyists.
@davidsawyer6003 The mai. Reason I've stuck to them is that the XDM was the first pistol I bought about 10 years ago, they were doing their magazine rebate so I ended up with a ton of mags and have just bought more of them during mag rebates so I have an overabundance of mags. Knowing what I know now, I would tend to agree that they may not be the best in class at everything, but I've had a pretty solid experience throughout my years with them. I understand the hate that they've received over their donations, which they later came out and apologized for, so who knows if it were the company that made the mistake or somebody just suggested to make a donation and no research was done on who it was they were donating to. I will also say that the grip safety was a big draw for me personally when I was looking because there were a lot of stories of police officers having negligent discharges while holstering their Glocks that I wanted to avoid. The older triggers are understandably not ideal because after the reset there is some slack, but I find that after I've broken my trigger in after 10's of thousands of rounds, as well as dry presses its an awesome trigger.
“King of 9mm’s?” I didn’t know Little League made in Croatia had a “king” of anything.
Life is always good when you can get “QUICK INSERTION” 😂 👍🏼
Do all three of your fingers fit on the grip easily it looks like your pinky finger is half on and half off?
I bought one recently. Yes, that’s an actual issue, but the gun is still 1000% accurate. Unbelievably accurate. I haven’t looked into it, but supposedly you can take off the mag well and the grip will be more normal. Normally, I’m the first to care about grips not being big enough for all three fingers, like on the LCP max, rectified by some third party extension, but this gun is so easy to shoot it’s a non issue. I’m gonna try to take that mag well off though and see what happens. I don’t shoot enough pistol to care about some fraction of a second improvement in reloading time.
