I bought this gun a month after it came out the non OSP model and I love it. Its never had a malfunction and I’ve ran every ammo you can think of through it. Very underrated
King of 9mm? You’re going to catch some heat for that! I have a few older XDMs in my household, all very good. Always thought the XDM was underrated, in my opinion. Thanks for the vid!
@@lowjack8645 I’ve had a bunch of Springfield 9mms over the years. I’ve been very happy with the majority of them, but they don’t usually get much love in the comments.
Last year I picked up an XDS Mod2 OSP in .45ACP during one of the Springfield gear up promotions. It came with 5 magazines, a Crimson Trace red dot & a range bag, all for about $550. Fantastic handgun- extremely accurate, zero malfunctions, very easy to shoot. I couldn’t be happier with it. I like it so much, in fact, that I’m thinking of getting one of these new XDM Elite OSP Compacts in .45ACP. That version has a 10+1 capacity which works well for the magazine restrictions where I live. I’m just waiting for the next gear up promotion & I’m getting it!
Bought the XDM 45 Compact Elite, liked it so much, purchased the same firearm in 9mm with the 3.8” barrel. It has become my favorite 9mm due to a number of factors. It has supplanted my M@P9 compact as my favorite as well, and I thought nothing could do that. It simply does EVERYTHING well. I removed the mag well and improved it even more. The magazines (best production mags from anyone) I discovered not only don’t need the mag well, the matching magazines mate perfectly with the stocks to make it comfortable and excellent fit. Oh, and getting it for $399 didn’t hurt either.
I ordered one for that today. They had the 45 last year for 349 also, but claimed sold out and wouldn't transfer from another store. So I figured just get this now. Update- ordered the 8th, picked it up today the 14th. Quicker than I expected.

Nice video! The compact elite was my first one from the xdm family. Heck of a shooter. And of course being a member of the Croation brotherhood of the XD it's a must in the collection. Can you do a comparison video of the two, the original vs the elite. If I'm not mistaking there was some manufacturing changes as to the way the two where made. Thanks for the video and stay safe
I own 2 of the older XDMs, and I now own two of the elite models. Ive always been able to snag them during mag rebates and so I have a plethora of magazines and i shoot these guns better than any other guns I have. These guns have always been fantastic, and I understand that a lot of people are apprehensive about Springfields because of that mishap years ago, but they are very high quality and I personally like the extra weight because it helps to soak up the recoil. Now I will say, if youre looking for a handgun with a fantastic trigger out of the box for less money. Caniks are probably the best. After breaking the triggers in on these XDms though, they can get close.
I'm going to find an empty field and fill it with coil springs and call it Springfield. Seriously though, I like how Springfield uses steel mags, placing of the slide release and mag release. I held an XD9 side by side with the P10C and P07, and Springfield just felt right. Thank goodness South Africa has support for both CZ and Springfield. It's just the paperwork that's a bugger
Great carry gun! Beats the G26 to death - more rounds, more features, OSP, more attractive, and better sites. Less money too. I paid $359. Just as reliable as the Glock. I hear they have discontinued the line. Get one while you can.
Great video. Excellent review, I’m subscribing! I have 2 xdm elites, the full size 4.5 inch and the 3.8 compact OSP. They are great guns! Never had a jam! Eats whatever ammo I feed it. Can shoot it lefty or righty. EXTREMELY accurate and great round capacity.

@@guncafe4183 I agree but why bother when there a so many guns available that are better. The XDM triggers have always been bad. I still haven't forgot that Springfield donated money to anti 2A lobbyists.
@davidsawyer6003 The mai. Reason I've stuck to them is that the XDM was the first pistol I bought about 10 years ago, they were doing their magazine rebate so I ended up with a ton of mags and have just bought more of them during mag rebates so I have an overabundance of mags. Knowing what I know now, I would tend to agree that they may not be the best in class at everything, but I've had a pretty solid experience throughout my years with them. I understand the hate that they've received over their donations, which they later came out and apologized for, so who knows if it were the company that made the mistake or somebody just suggested to make a donation and no research was done on who it was they were donating to. I will also say that the grip safety was a big draw for me personally when I was looking because there were a lot of stories of police officers having negligent discharges while holstering their Glocks that I wanted to avoid. The older triggers are understandably not ideal because after the reset there is some slack, but I find that after I've broken my trigger in after 10's of thousands of rounds, as well as dry presses its an awesome trigger.
I bought one recently. Yes, that’s an actual issue, but the gun is still 1000% accurate. Unbelievably accurate. I haven’t looked into it, but supposedly you can take off the mag well and the grip will be more normal. Normally, I’m the first to care about grips not being big enough for all three fingers, like on the LCP max, rectified by some third party extension, but this gun is so easy to shoot it’s a non issue. I’m gonna try to take that mag well off though and see what happens. I don’t shoot enough pistol to care about some fraction of a second improvement in reloading time.
I now own 3 XDM Elite compacts (10 mm, 9 mm and 45 cal.) and a full size 10 mm. All 4 have been accurate, totally reliable, and really fun to shoot.
