    I'd like to add that many car fluids are a certain type and CANT be mixed with a different type.
    So you have to be careful you're topping up with the correct one.
    But the exception is engine oil, you can technically mix types.
    Which I had to do when my dad topped up my engine with the wrong viscosity, I was worried Id have to do a whole oil change and take it to the mechanic to fix things etc but the mechanic said it was all good, just top up with the correct type next time.
    The right viscosity helps the car run at its best, but having the wrong type in temporarily isnt going to make it curdle or react or break anything internally as long as its only temporary. Phew!
    Man I love my mechanic. He couldve so easily lied to me then to get money off me to "fix" it. A good honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold I'll never go to another one as long as I live here.

    I mean, when changing oil , you change the oil filter too. Ive been doing in car service for like a month, and then quit, volunteered so i can learn abut cars. And it is the basic. Also, if you see your air filter too dusty/havent changed it for a long time, now is that day. Do not use blowers to blow it off the dust and think that youve done the job. Its still filled with small particles that you cant see, which can lead to engine problems, so its better if you just buy a new one.
    EDIT: Also dont buy really cheap filters, or parts in general, as their quality is close to zero.

    Add brakes and roters, ball joints, bearings, struts and springs, change all four tires (meaning take the worn tires off the wheels and put new ones on setting the bead, then you got changing all the fluids ( coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, gear oil in the diffs and transfer case oil) then there’s changing spark plugs, headlights, tail lights, fog lights, and if you really want to have fun you can do the full engine rebuild ( top and bottom)

    Changed the belt on my Grand Am what a pain first you gotta support the engine either by the oil pan or using a engine support bar from the top. Then undo the engine bracket mount from the passenger side. Take a socket wrench or serpentine belt tool and move the tensioner towards the firewall of the car. Take belt off and the do everything you did in reverse. The hardest part is getting the belt back on I recommend you go from the bottom up it’s more easy to get the belt started on the crank shaft pulley and work your way up finishing with the alternator. Also on the Grand Am it’s easy to also remove the cruise control model seeing that it’s kinda in the way and moving it gives you more arm room. It’s simple just unplug the wires and remove the black bracket holding it on and just set it to the side.

    In modern cars you can't check the timing belt or serpentine belt. You have to remove the engine cover. And what can you even do as an amature. Even garagists often think you have a timing belt problem cause it is good money for them but a disaster for you. See a brand professional because the noise could just be a roulement that is broken.

    #6 Only part of the vehicle that should touch the road?
    With Toyota, it's not only the tires but the EXHAUST TUBE should too!
    Did you ever notice how many Toyota car models have this essential part always hanging down?

      I had that issue(not quite touching the road, but it had to be welded back on) with a Nissan Versa.

    I wish there was a video that teaches you how to quickly check under the head to check if nothing is inside like rodents, leaves, what not. Or if no cable has broken from vibrations or again, rodents. I feel like my engine is overheating. The cooling fan keeps turning on after parking and it's freezing outside.

    when I start my car in the morning (cold start) check engine light flashes and car rumbles. But it drives fine with an occasional jerk that feels like gear shift on a manual and the rpm doesn’t go above 4000rpm whenever the check engine light flashes. After about 3-5 minutes, i restart my car and the rumbling fades out and everything feels normal. Engine light now stays on. Since the car functions fine. Now I let the car idle in the morning for 5 minutes and then start driving. The same thing happens in the afternoon.
    In summary the check engine light flashes for a few minutes during a cold start. If I stop the car after driving for 10 minutes and restart it, there is no such problem. I suspect this is a rare problem. i have taken my car to several garage. no one diagnosed the actual problem. coils and sprak plugs have been changed recently still there’s no end for this problem. please help me out im finding a solution since 2 months. please do the needful

      Can anyone tell me what liquid is used for wiper fluid?

    • @foxman105
      @foxman105 4 роки тому +3

      @@AS-nx9fu Depends. You can either use distilled water with a concentrate that you mix according to the instructions on the bottle, or you buy premixed washer fluid. Running pure distilled water is not great idea as it freezes easily and can corrode stuff and running tap water is even worse idea cause you'll get sediment build up which will eventually jam the pump or the lines.

    They forgot the biggest one: Refueling! I know so many drivers who have no idea how to put gas in the car and have to drive long distances to full service stations or have other people do it for them. I especially knew a bunch from New Jersey, where it's literally illegal to pump your own fuel. But how do those people survive when they drive out of state?

    Hi
    I have a question, for turning on Automatic Car. Which one is Correct?
    1. Insert the key and direct switch to ignition. (And Why?)
    2. Insert the key and turn on, wait 1-2 seconds until warning lights out then ignition. (And Why?)
    Thanks😁

    • @MrMarkspaced
      @MrMarkspaced 3 роки тому

      are you sure you mean automatic car and not diesel car? with diesel cars there is a warm out time as diesel is not as flammable as petrol / gas so if it is a diesel then yes you need to wait a few seconds after turning the key most of the way, this is to let the glow plugs (a bit like the spark plugs) heat up ready to start the car so yes wait for the warning light to go out then start it, you will find the time is a bit longer on old days i know it can be a pain but worth doing as you will damage the car in time if you ignore the warning light, they are there for a reason. hope that helps.

    • @aldrichemrys

      Neither. Most car instruction manuals state that you need to depress the brake pedal BEFORE you turn the key in the ignition slot.

    Don't put the wiper arm sans wiper onto the windscreen! Just keep it lifted up when you go and grab the new wiper unless you don't care about scratching or potentially cracking your windscreen.

      if in the UK take it to local recycling centre they all have the facilities to dispose or recycle waste oils it is free but not for commercial use only for private people doing there own or a friends car, just ask the staff for waste oil disposal they will be happy to direct you.

    Not all people can 'concentrate" with music in the background; is the music entirely necessary? A good video is a video that explains your point or instruction and makes it easy for everyone to follow without distracting music for those with Misophonia and other concentrating issues. Please make it CLEAR and EASY for everyone!

    • @galaxyanimal

      The windshield wiper is one of the easiest things to change. Tires aren't complicated(loosen the bolts, jack the car up, remove the bolts, remove the tire, put the spare on, bolt it on, jack the car back down), but it's a lot of effort to where it's easier to just pump air into the tires as a temporary fix unless you had a blowout(I had a used tire disintigrate on my Versa, which is a small car to be having a blowout and luckily it had an actual spare).

    I wanted to know that is there a difference between putting water and coolant do you need both of them

    • @MrMarkspaced
      @MrMarkspaced 3 роки тому +1

      when topping up or changing coolant you should use the right mix of coolant and water, if you are unsure on how much or what mix there are plenty of guides just type in the make and model of your car what cc the car is or go to one of the many big auto parts supplier sites and type in your car registration number and select coolant they will show you the right types, and mixes, if you use just water it will not work as well and in cold climate or times of year you rist the water freezing and damaging your engine beyond economical repair so this is one thing to make sure of it is cheap and easy, at a stretch you can get coolant concentrate from many places and they give a rough guide to amounts so with a little maths you can work out the mix and that will do the job. but having learned the hard way many years ago i know first hand just how vital coolant is.
