Considering it's unlikely to top 170mph on the final straight; achieving a sub 7 lap time requires it have exceptional grip and balance, even for a purpose built car.

Are you comparing this racecar to the Giulia which is a normal production car or is there another list of race sedans? Nonetheless, under 7 minutes with only 310hp (that's the number I found online) is very impressive! Other cars in that ballpark have at least twice as much.
It's just a general sedan record. But in terms of production models, no Subaru sucks ass and can't compete. So they took their car to ProDrive to have someone else make their car for them.
