Brad Landers That is a GT4, this is impressive for a 4 four door sedan. Completely different classes and I'm a 911 owner who has owned an STi in the past.
Chris Black I'm not sure what the significance of 4-doors is. This car is race-prepped by ProDrive with full race slicks on all four corners. If ProDrive were to enter this in a VLN race, what class do you think they'd fall under? I wouldn't be surprised if they fell under SP10 (SRO-GT4). This lap is cool and all, but this is a full race-prepped car. It had better be in the 7:00 area.
Bebop FWIW, I agree. I think the car is very exciting, and I'm thrilled Subaru built it. More so, I wish they'd race it in VLN! It can't be that far off SP10, given the lap time.
This driver is awesome and clearly knows how to drive this car. It loses about 20-30 km/h down the straights against the Spider 918 and Lambo Aventador...can you imagine what this thing does in the corners???!!! That is grip, driving skills, and a whole lot of wholesome balls.
If there was a 7th gear available he could've knocked off between 3 to 4.5 seconds on the overall time. But yeah, click to 7 when there's no 7.........damnit!!!! Haha
This is the footage we've all been waiting on. Love the fact you guys picked Colin McRae's anniversary to release the onboard. I'm sure he'd have loved to have been involved in this crazy cars development!
My one and only Scooby was a WRX STi RA1 and it was a beast, aluminium body it was so light weight, stuck to the road like it was on rails, best car i ever had, do miss that car
Great lap, great drive. Fantastic video. Dont really see the point because ..... race-car! Agreed, there are 4 doors mounted in the chassis; of witch 2 are probably welded shut to increase stiffness.
My amazement is a slightly different focus.. i am amazed that this relatively tall body can go from 140mph down to 70mph in about 2 seconds and take the really tight curves and remain under control.. and not suffer fade...brake temps???.. you can question everything else.. but those are super car brakes. well done Subaru... never a Subaru fan... but i bow
Well shit may as well cancel my pre-order on FM7. Seriously who ever was the man or woman who did this. In the spirit of driving I salute you! That was fangio level impressive. If you ever find you way down to Florida I'd love to buy you a beer...after a couple runs around Sebring LOL!
That video made me have feelings that I have not had in a long time. Annnnd... LOL at that fly buzzing around inside the car. I wonder what it was thinking.
I'm no racing car expert and I have never physically driven around Nordschleife but the amount of hours I have clocked on this track in every Forza game must count for something. I would use Nordschleife to tune my cars and also was my main rival mode track. I've never been there but I know all the corners, not so much by name, but by feel. I always love watching onboard Nordschleife time attacks because I can see where they lift and break on certain corners which I compare to how I'd drive it on Forza. It is very similar, where he lifts, brakes then gets on the gas is just like if I was driving around in game but I usually fuck up at the Carousel and I don't have the balls to drive how I do in the game like they do for real. I build my cars in Forza to be like the cars in the videos I watch to see how my time would compare. More often than not, I'm slower and in this case with the STI Type RA this is true. Mostly because of my shitty tuning but still this car is fucking amazing. I just rambled about my forza skills but the point of all this is, this car is fucking amazing and I love seeing it fly around Nordschleife.
That has to be a jdm motor, right? To just cruise at 8250 rpm on the straight without blowing something up is crazy. Either way, these guys know how to build a car.
This really makes me want Subaru to make a sequential trans on their stock models. Maybe not as high end as this one since you still want it to be affordable. And people say WRXs should only be manuals.. This is just as fun!
So he's running a no blow off valve set up ? That's why it shutters or whatever when he lets off the gas ? Idk I just love the sound and want it for when I buy a Subaru lol
How many miles is this track?i think if he had another gear to switch it would have helped him on the straight but at the same time idk if that would affect the ratios on the lower gears costing him a lot of time on the turns still looks like more fun then I’ll ever have I friken wish. #dream job
Almost as fast as my STI... ;) What an amazing vid! Now they have to get that engine in the NEXT GEN STI. Stop messing around Subaru and kick their asses already!
lmao with the difference of that porsche being a road car Take the Porsche 956 from the 80s that baby runs under 6:15 on worse track conditions Their road cars cant even beat the fastest FWD cars nowdays on the nordschleife
time to go to straila next and do world time attack but make sure u got more downforce u gonna need it. literally if mark went there in a crazy sti he would win it , it would also complete my life thanks:)
_blows off excess turbo compression in a hysterically maniacal whistle_
Even for a tracked out car this is impressive as hell, the cornering entering and exit speeds with those lines are insane
Is it? Just about any GT4 spec race car will turn 7:00 minute lap times around Nords, and this STi wasn't limited by GT4 homologation regulations.

For a subaru fan this is cool to see and hear. The 4 door thing is for marketing .

Anything going around that track in under 7min is insane! Loved it 👍
Dat Turbo Flutter 😍
Sounds like something from a cartoon 😂😂👍🏻
ikr
Alvin and the Chipmunks onboard.
This driver is awesome and clearly knows how to drive this car. It loses about 20-30 km/h down the straights against the Spider 918 and Lambo Aventador...can you imagine what this thing does in the corners???!!! That is grip, driving skills, and a whole lot of wholesome balls.
How big the engine size of the 918 spyder and Avatador compare with 2.0L (Maybe2.2 ej20)Subaru Impressa sti typ RA.🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fly inside the cabin hanging on for dear life at 2:48 lol!
Fly on a wall < fly on a race car roll cage
fastest fly on the ring for sure
I saw it too lol
World Record Speed for a fly
@@sparkvitaminwater on a land based vehicle :)
Love how he upshifts to 7th gear on the straight( 06:38 )....sorry no 7th gear for you! :D
HAHA
Maybe there's a 7th gear in the simulator.
If there was a 7th gear available he could've knocked off between 3 to 4.5 seconds on the overall time. But yeah, click to 7 when there's no 7.........damnit!!!! Haha
xD
The car has a DRS system so it might be how they activate it. That or the driver forgot what gear he was in / use to driving cars with 7+ gears.
Love it's what makes a Subaru a subaru
What makes a Subaru a Subaru.....a good blow off valve
Commas, its what makes a sentence make sense. Lol.
at 1:41 you can really get a sense of the insane corner-exit acceleration that's possible with all that power and AWD
It helps a bit because its going down but its still impressive
that turbo sound is really addictive :)
Tire grip feedback is wicked
mr juice not in America
Never seen anyone go flat-out all the way through the foxhole. That's impressive.
This is the footage we've all been waiting on. Love the fact you guys picked Colin McRae's anniversary to release the onboard. I'm sure he'd have loved to have been involved in this crazy cars development!
What a machine, 4-5-6th gear in starting corners, amazing.
I felt like I was on board with him, what a video and what a lap.
no mirrors, this thing is built to beat the stopwatch
Been waiting for this video yessssss
Wow, fair play to the driver, he was right on the edge at all times
Das war eine super Runde - Glückwunsch
That was a great lap - congratulations
Wow, now that's a stunning car, that engine sound though, this is so amazing.
finally video :) thats freaking sick! Congrats to driver for really sick driving and of course subaru and prodrive for this amazing machine!
WOW. What a car and what driving. Totally amazing
Awesome driving!! Great job Subaru!
Wow, I thought that was a video game. Hats off to the driver, you are amazing. Thank you for that, :)
My one and only Scooby was a WRX STi RA1 and it was a beast, aluminium body it was so light weight, stuck to the road like it was on rails, best car i ever had, do miss that car
His downshifts are perfect. Awesome vid sub!
What is that at the 3:22 mark in the video?
tranni malfunction or messing up a down shift?
We need more builds like this 💙🙇🏻
that blow-off blows my mind!
That's the sound of no blow-off-valve. Just compressor surge. Can't waste any air!
That is a BOV and not surge. Compressor surge keeps going and going.
Nick M Paul is actually correct. there is no blow off valve.
I stand corrected. Must be nice to have the budget to support a Turbo every season!!!
Nick M I agree. Its hell on the turbo but Subaru has no shortage of those haha.
We love our Ra! We have #224, great performance for sure!
Wow.......
Awesome driving, this is why we miss the old school rally cars,
I feel so lucky that I got 250km/h out of my 08MY STi on a runway strip. Damn fast.
Holy shit man. I was gripping my phone hard there a few times. Straight up flat out.
2:45 there's a fly in the car xD must be enjoying the ride ;)
Insane lap btw, congrats !
This is one beautiful car!
that was a pretty intense 7 min. love the audio
This video deserves MILLIONS of views
What a machine.
Great lap, great drive. Fantastic video. Dont really see the point because ..... race-car!
Agreed, there are 4 doors mounted in the chassis; of witch 2 are probably welded shut to increase stiffness.
Imagine what he could have done if he had a 7th gear!
Would love to see more info on the build/setup of the car.. esp on the motor build
Awesome run Subaru! Proud to be a Subaru owner :)
all stock
@@bruiserdotcom😂😂😂😂
This Subaru type RA needs to run with the sp front class in nbr 24 i am sure it can win
Pretty amazing!
Those times are insane, if it only could go faster then 285kmh on the straight at the end
Amazing return, only for those who know this track from end to end. Congratulations to the pilot!
My amazement is a slightly different focus.. i am amazed that this relatively tall body can go from 140mph down to 70mph in about 2 seconds and take the really tight curves and remain under control.. and not suffer fade...brake temps???.. you can question everything else.. but those are super car brakes. well done Subaru... never a Subaru fan... but i bow

Dang that fly lol - what a ride!
OMG THAT TURBO THO I AM TAKING THAT THING ON A DATE!
That video made me have feelings that I have not had in a long time. Annnnd... LOL at that fly buzzing around inside the car. I wonder what it was thinking.
Sound is goooood!!
That cornering speed sweet jesus .

Would love a close up of the tires after this lap
Each corner was like a subaru westgate laughting (phi hi hi hi hi) at previous record :D Nice job!
Dude this guy deserves a medal. Holy shit he's ballsy!!
that driver really knows the track
Dang that driver has some skills!
that fly went for one hell of a ride
That has to be a jdm motor, right? To just cruise at 8250 rpm on the straight without blowing something up is crazy. Either way, these guys know how to build a car.
Brandon sever I'm pretty sure it's a race prepped EJ20 similar to the one they teased us with in a brz sti a few years ago.
welcome to the EJ20
it's Prodrive built, as good as cosworth style
yeah the part at 6:48 when he floors it for like 30 min, i was expecting something bad to happen
Nice ride 👌 and car two
Subaru/Sti at its finest👍
Mac Sti cant hack it in wrc then tries and fails at road racinng
the car seems to be setup with understeer to allow max acceleration on corner exit.
nice
That looked like understeer hell, and they still drove the HELL out of that thing!
This really makes me want Subaru to make a sequential trans on their stock models. Maybe not as high end as this one since you still want it to be affordable. And people say WRXs should only be manuals.. This is just as fun!
Subaru !!!!! Holy shit 😍👍🏻
Is in my to buy bucket list
Incredible car and set up. Is glue squirting out of the tires? Impressive driving to say the least.
Brap Braaaap Peeeww Braaap...The best symphony for my ears.
Dam, 2gs side force. Must be wild to be taking corners in that car. This thing is on rails though, great driving aswell!
WOOOOOO BABY
I LOVE YOU SUBARU
wooohhoooooo! on the edge!!!
even when it shares nothing with the production cars it still has that trademark subaru understeer lol
Rubi Sue is such a great driver!
I love my STI
179.8 km/h avg speed on Nordschleife and 207.2 km/h on Snaefell. Finally we can see the avg speed difference between the 2 circuit giants.
Wow that insane
2:45 Fastest fly on Nurburgring :D
Damn. The new Gran Turismo looks insane!
So he's running a no blow off valve set up ? That's why it shutters or whatever when he lets off the gas ? Idk I just love the sound and want it for when I buy a Subaru lol

Wow.. the graphic is amazing
Insane
Genial SUBARU mi Favorito
That Turbo though
Back to unequal length headers? Sounds completely different to what it sounded like at Goodwood, or is it a different car?
turbo ringtone, please. Holy STI Richie Stanaway!!
awesome
Almost as fast as my STI... ;) What an amazing vid! Now they have to get that engine in the NEXT GEN STI. Stop messing around Subaru and kick their asses already!
JDM For Life ❤️❤️❤️
btw is really good, but the fact is there are cars with AC that can do it under 7 too:) but I have to admit, this lap was a fkin MONSTER:d
600hp subi nearly ties with the 918 spider ...... goes to show that horse power isnt everything
This is a heavy modified car...
lmao with the difference of that porsche being a road car
Take the Porsche 956 from the 80s that baby runs under 6:15 on worse track conditions
Their road cars cant even beat the fastest FWD cars nowdays on the nordschleife
The driver's balls indeed weigh in a lot as well, at a track like this.
its much much lighter tho
I'm sorry. This car is on slicks, is it not??
Man I bet that fly was having the ride of its life.
that damn fly having the ride of its life inside that cockpit lmao
Oh bordel Incroyable ❤ 😮
Im proud to own an sti
time to go to straila next and do world time attack but make sure u got more downforce u gonna need it. literally if mark went there in a crazy sti he would win it , it would also complete my life thanks:)
Street Version 😍
Hory shet

Ory fuk!
Initial Greg just 10 secs shy of the gt2RS
Impossibruuuuuuu!!
That a JoJo reference?
Tvl...hustě :)
I can do about 9 minutes in a sim racer with the non STI version.
This is insane with the little ammount of understeer.
