It is great to see a transformation being done on a strict budget. I stopped watching HGTV because money seemed to be no object with a lot of the renovations.
Yeah it’s never realistic but there’s ways to do everything within your budget ❤️
I so appreciate a realistic make over in a real home with real life happeing in it. If everything is picture perfect its a house. A home is lived in, used and loved .
Love this 🙏🏼
Totally agree Nicole 👍
Your kitchen looks more modern now but i love when it was pink 3 years ago!
For a hinges on the tall cabinet. Maybe a piano hinges. It's continuous an sets very smooth.
Great idea!
Love "Keeping it Real"! Most of us do not have an endless budget..! Thank you for sharing a job well done!! 😊
So happy you enjoyed it ☺️❤️
Well done. It looks lighter, more spacious and modern. Lovely.
Thank you x
I found your channel just a little while ago. I enjoy your videos but what I enjoy most is listening to you speak. I am Australian. My grandparents were Welsh and listening to you brings them straight back to me. ❤
Aww that’s so nice to hear ❤️ I’m glad you found the channel and it brings you some joy ❤️
I always love the budget makeovers face it anyone who has loads of money can do big transformations but the majority of us can’t. We recycle and up-cycle it’s a challenge and gets our creative juices flowing. Lovely work as ever. 😊🌻🌻
Great job Catherine...the doors really looks nice & fresh! So glad you keep it real! Have a wonderful rest of the week & weekend! Lots of love Kathy x Canada
Thanks for stopping by Kathy! Hope you’ve a lovely weekend too ❤️
One door instead of three would make a huge difference. You can do it.
Is there anything you can’t do? Amazing job. I am deeply impressed. Have a great weekend with the little furballs. 🙋♀️🌸🌷🐈
Thanks Christie ❤️❤️
Catherine what about using a heat gun on the tile? It would remove the paint and the old glue from the peel and stick tile. Just a thought. The kitchen looks so much brighter. Nicely done.
Good idea! ☺️
If you can't get wood in the car, you get wee flat brackets that attach doors together for tall presses. We have one in our kitchen! X
Great job Catherine and as long as Siobhan loves it, all is well with the world :)
You done nanny Siobhan proud Catherine! x luuuurrrvvve the black doors btw x
Wow!!! Love the color and style of the cabinet doors! The new color brightens the room somehow. The black doors, cupboard & table are just wonderful accents!
"Real Life" kitchen just Real LIFE!! Love it!!!
Whether it’s the house or the garden, your videos (and book!) always motivate me to beautify my home.
Awww 🥹 I really appreciate that support
The way most of us live! You did a lovely job!❤
Whatever was cooking looked delicious. Can't go wrong with potatoes and ham. I could go for a bowl on this chilly day.
What a fabulous, finished product. It makes me want to tackle my kitchen with a fresh coat of paint. Love, love, love....
Look at Miss Dainty in her pretty pink 💅! The kitchen looks great Catherine. Nanny Shavonne (sp?) is lucky to have you with your 🪚🔨 skills!
It' s a big improvement, it's so much lighter. I' m keen on seeing the result as a whole. Love the space you 've created in the back.👍🙋♀️
Will return in a few weeks, might be later in spring when they get their new appliances etc ❤️
You’re hired!!! Come to the USA, asap! I need a bathroom makeover 😂❤
On the way 🤣🤣
Great job. It lightens up the kitchen. Nice to show it as a living kitchen. Brings it down to earth, real life.
Well done Catherine, the cabinets are looking great, and you followed your clients brief 👍
🙏🏼☺️ thank you x
Her kitchen is coming along very nicely!
Fixing the tile backsplash is way above my pay grade, LOL, so I wish you both luck on that.
The kitchen is looking great! Nice job!!👍 I do like watching these makeovers (especially kitchen makeovers). Small makeovers or large....I like them all😉
Glad to hear it ☺️
Amazing job Catherine, it's looking absolutely stunning. Love the colours and design. Well done. Thank you for sharing this video with everyone.

Great job ladies
Love the true reality, cuz that's what we can all relate to. You've done a fab job girl as always ❤
Such a pretty transformation ❤ Well done!
☺️ thank you
Hi Catherine well done you go girl 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💖🙋🏻♀️Patricia.
Very impressive Catherine! Thanks for the tip about Ikea for cabinet doors.
Try a homemade goo-be-gone, on the tile glue. Mix together any type of cooking oil and baking soda until it’s a paste. Rub it on and leave it overnight. Wipe or a little scraping and it should come right off. Great for getting label glue off jars. Cheap and safe to use too. Kitchen looks great! Bet grandma loves it!
You can use a hairdryer or heat gun. This will melt the glue for you to scrape off. 😊
You are so talented well done
Nanny Siobhan must be so pleased! So light, airy & pulled together now. I can’t wait to see the new pantry door as I agree that would make a big impact as well.
Thank you ☺️
Catherine, you always do such a wonderful job. ❤❤. Love and respect from Vancouver, B.C.
Fantastic job Catherine so inspirational as alwaysx
☺️
I can smell that acoddle from h. re, looks fab. Great job Catherine
Hi Catherine, Siobhan kitchen look’s lovely. Brighter and seems bigger. For the backsplash to cover the tiles maybe think of bead board. Have a lovely weekend
Yes, beadboard would be lovely. It’s something I’d like in my own too ❤️
@@DaintyDiaries 😊
Looks great! Well done! And yes, we all live in our houses this isn’t a TV show… 😂
Certainly lighter and brighter, nice lassies.
You are very knd to put so much time and effort into someone else's house. As always, your worrk is careful and precise. Anoher great job.❤
I’ve been thinking of painting my daughter’s kitchen cabinets but I’m afraid I might ruin them. Thank you for sharing how easy it is and what a difference it makes!
Don’t be afraid it to just get stuck in! It’s only paint at the end of the day and anything can be fixed❤️
Kitchen looks awesome fresh looking. Thank you for sharing.
What an amazing upgrade. You did a fantastic job.
Thank you ☺️
Very nicely done.💗I think most of us live with real life living in our homes. The ones on TV never seem like anyone actually lives there. I am still trying to perfect my caulking skills. You do a great job. I end up with it all over me and everywhere else. 😆
All those Pinterest kitchens 🤣 thanks so much for stopping by ❤️
A beautiful make-over, the kitchen looks well done. Budget make-overs are the ones that interest me the most, especially when you are able to reuse. I will tell you, though, that I almost cried when I saw you cutting and sanding in your own kitchen! Oh, the dust! My cat and I enjoyed the sight of your attentive apprentices, you are wise to start them young. Thanks to you and Chyvonne for sharing! Laurie
Great job. You are amazing. From across the pond, love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Aww thanks Barbara ❤️ hope you’ve a lovely weekend! Thanks for stopping by xx
Thank you for showing us actual ways to update on a budget! Also, thank your niece and nephew's Nanna for sharing her home.👍💕
I’m so glad you enjoyed it ☺️🙏🏼
You’ve done a great job feel proud of yourself … loved watching your managers keeping an eye on your work 😊
Always supervising 🤣
@@DaintyDiaries that’s their job 😊
Wd 40 I found worked brilliantly to remove the left over residue from those self adhesive tiles and a blade scraper
Hi Catherine! I'm glad you had the chance to get back to this kitchen. I was wondering how it was going. Everything looks fabulous! The MDF made such a difference. You truly inspire me to take on some projects I might not otherwise. Have a superb weekend!
You our so kind🙏🏼 thank you x
Wow so gorgeous 😊fantastic work 😊thank so much for sharing your talent 😊
Looks fantastic! Much brighter and looks bigger. Great work!
I have been wanting to add shaker trim to my cabinets for years. They have been painted a few times so I just haven’t attempted it yet. I have 27 cabinet doors and many drawers so the thought is daunting. I have a son in college so no budget for a new kitchen right now. You did a beautiful job.❤️
Great job looks great. Thanks for sharing.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
always so inspiring to me!🫶🏻😍
This is fabulous. This kitchen is double the size of my brother’s in Queens NYC!!!
A coddle is a perfect word for comfort in a bowl. I may have to start using it instead of stoup. (stew/soup) ❤️
Kitchen is looking fresh!
Perfect for when it’s so cold out now too 😍 total comfort food!
I painted our kitchen kabinets and the tiles (that are not only backsplash, but they run around the walls in my narrow kitchen) last year, all thanks to you, and I still love it, even though the paint is chipping a little bit. Love your makeovers.
So so happy to hear you did a kitchen makeover.
A light sanding on the chipped areas and touch up should fix the chips x
Thanks to watching you do the panelling in your sitting room I have done my first panelled wall which looks amazing. B and Q need to pay you to do an in store tutorial. Thanks Catherine. Love the work you have done in this video too.
Fabulous job this Kitchen is lovely what you have designed on a budget love the design and colours.
Oh wow it turned out so nice. Your amazing Catherine. You do the best makeovers. I love it. 😊🇨🇦❤️
I love the real life makeovers you do x
Great work, Catherine! I had to pause the video so I could plant out my bare root strawberry plants.🥰 Spring is coming!
Oooh happy planting ☺️🌱🌱🌱
The makeover looks great. I love all the windows! And I agree, one long door on the pantry would be very nice!
Yes ☺️ I’m excited to try and make one ❤️
You did a beautiful job!
Well done Catherine 👍👍 everything looks great ❤
The kitchens coming along nicely, well done!
Eeeek thank you so much ❤️
Wow friend ! What an amazing job you’ve done, well done you, 🙌 I love how your videos are real life, 😘 🙏🏻

Hello, from Davie, Florida. Catherine, what a beautiful transformation. Wow! As always, thank you for sharing your ideas and tips.
Exactly what I needed to know! Thank you so much, Catherine. I'm old enough to be your grannie but always learning from you!❤
Every day is a learning day for everyone ❤️❤️
Great job, I actually like the 3 doors on the larder.

Very nice Catherine!
Thank you for sharing..Seems that there isn't anything that you can't do. You're awesome !
I am constantly impressed by you Catherine. Such an inspiration. Thank you 💖
Thank you so much! xxxx
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, but wow, it looks great! I know better than to have doubted, but there you have it ;)
Your not alone, I was doubting myself too 😁
Catherine the DIY Queen ❤❤❤if I’m ever lucky enough to own my home one day, I’ll be asking you for advice!
Absolutely x
excellent job, you mentioned trying to get hold of bondo to use as a filler and as you found bondo is an automotive filler from the states and I am sure you found numerous off the shelf fillers from the big sheds, but a tip I was given years ago by a great caninet maker was when sanding wood or MDF use a collection bag on your electric sander, mix this with PVA glue and it makes an excellent filler, you are lucky to be able to do the cutting etc in your kitchen, if you were a married man you would not be allowed to get away with it
You can get an MDF and do a foe tile job in the back splash. Find an old closet door to make one door for that trio cabinet or put a long piece of thin 1/4 " and make one door using the trio doors.
What a great job!! Looks terrific.
Hi cathrine
I used hairdryer to heat the tile and it helped to peel off .
You have to do it while it’s warm .
Hope this helps .
You done a lovely job 👍
Very nice and realistic project. 😊
☺️
Great job..this kitchen make over is so, so nice..
❤❤❤ Love it Catherine ...
Turned out great, please thank nanny for letting us into her home, ❤
Resin could be a nice alternative for the fronts of your cupboards x
Lovely work, Catherine. The kitchen is great! Thank the family for me for allowing a peek of their home!!! So sweet!!!
Complimenti Catherine, bellissimo progetto e la musica al finale stupenda ❤
Impressive, Catherine 😀 Love makeovers like this. I have an idea for the pantry door. Why not leave the bottom door as is. It lines up with the other bottom doors. Then make an along door instead of the middle and upper door. Might even fit in your car bett Lol. I have a fiat and am known to cram everything in. Who needs a pickup, girl? You’ve got me looking into saws. Which type of saw would you recommend for the first one. Mitre, table etc. Just a beginner here who wants to learn. Cheers, Janina from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
You didn't ask me but I'd start with a circular saw if I were you! It's the most versatile and with hard work, can do almost anything a table or miter saw can do. Of course those saws are amazing too but starting with the circular was what I did and I have zero regrets!
Thank you 😊 @@striketochill I appreciate any advice I can get lol. I want to make garden beds and maybe some other diy in the garden. Maybe some day I’ll get brave and build my own little greenhouse. Now I have to save up for it and watch the sales lol.
Great job Catherine! I like the idea of one door on the pantry cupboard. Amazing what you can do👍😎❤️
I used thick, clear acrylic plexiglass to revamp my kitchen backslash. I use wallpaper, pretty heavy duty napkins, fabric... to line the wall. Then clear or paintable caulk... I've swapped out the pattern a few times to figure out what I actually like in the space... formica is a a synthetic material that is photo realistic granite or marble. Then covered with the plexiglass looks and cleans like glass covered Stone... it gives a professional vibe... just a thought.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share that, it’s really helpful ❤️
Great video, youve given me some inspiration to tackle my kitchen cabinets. To be sure you cannae beat a coddle. Never seen it on any other cookery shows though, so you’re winning at life. Happy New Year 🎉😊
Good for the soul 😍😍
