you say old school, but there isn't much old school about this place other than the vibe you get from it. This is by far one of the most advanced workout places I've ever seen. They cut out all the BS and filled the place with functional equipment. The creativity is flowing hard in this place. THIS GYM IS EPIC!

Great looking gym! You can make some fat grip barbells out of steel piping filled with concrete. You can then make various weight plates buy pouring concrete into the bottom of trash cans/buckets for a mould, just add a pvc and or metal pipe bit in the middle to keep a hole open for your bar.

Nice video! Reminds me of when I was in county jail years back. There were no workout facilities and I was going nuts. I took my bed roll, rolled it up, tied it with the bed sheets, and made sort of a sandbag/log-type thing. I put it on my back and did squats. I grabbed it by the sheets and curled it and pressed it. I then punched it like a punching bag. I then slept...slept a lot.

Now that is the type of gym I gravitated to back in my hardcore days of training. Spent many an hour in wonderful pole barn gyms. I made a wood burner heater out of an old water heater, it worked fantastic. I know you have BOB and I don't want to insult him but have you ever thought about making a dummy from pvc frame covered with old carpet and duct tape up? Being that your really into home made stuff.

    • @sblperformance1

As for the ideas - I'm not sure I've seen any sleds which are so cool for power and conditioning (GSP's S&C coach is one of the great proponents).

no I just like lifting strange objects. I love lifting objects filled with water because it forces you to lift slowly and helps develope cordination in your opposite arm. Here are some other exerises
    1. Keg lifts. fill it half way up
    2. sleds pulling. put plates on sled and pull
    3. parachute running
    4. rock climbing board
    5. Bulgarian bag training
    6. fill situp ball with water
    7. big water cooler workout. just use the water cooler like a kettlebell
    8. balance boards

not at all where i would like to work out BUT i do use many of the creative pieces youve come up with. Actually Really like the frizbee part for slider pieces currently - we use a plastic garbage cam lid - for forward and reverse push crawls. Theyre killer!
i think a peg board would be a great addition to your space
as well as a large pulley welded to the ceiling beams - to use in conjunction with the ropes and cables... either pull yourself up with an anchored bottom Or pull a weight up.

I've recently started making my own gym equipment, I've only made 1 kettlebell and 1 push/pull sled (using a wheelbarrow) so far, but you've given me so many more ideas to use as time goes on
Your set up is great, an awesome gym
Was wondering where you go the padding for the track down the middle?
    Cheers

Hey man, if you are not able to get bigger tires, you could do what I did. Drill four 1'' holes evenly spaced out in the tire, and then put four 6'' bolts in the tire add four 25lb standard weights clamp/bolt them in place. It is harder to flip my 250lb tire with 140lbs added in it, for a total of 390lb, then it is my 500lb tire. Great gym love your equipment...
