wow, at the 8:08 mark, that selfie from the $1200 bucks phone is crap, compared to the $499.00 dollars phone. I am amazed at how good the 8a is. Another amazing video, thanks for sharing it. Cheera.

The Pixel 8a's selfie cam is considerably more impressive than the iPhone. For the rear cams some shots are better on the Pixel than the iPhone and vice versa, but honestly at $499 the disparity between the quality isn't as big as you might think.
Bro the iPhone blew the pixel on selfie but for the extra price pixel put the iPhone in the dirt and said take a selfie down there edit overall performance I give it to the pixel it's better in some ways and that shouldn't be the case when you buying a 1300 phone but it's apple so people going to buy it for the brand and popularity so they can be blue bubble buddy's 😂
One annoying thing I noticed about my own 8a is that the pics are often too yellowish. I'd take a photo of my city on a bright sunny day, with the concrete being a neutral light grey, and the 8a will make the concrete look yellowish. Same with the sky or clouds; when I take a picture of perfectly white and bright clouds, the 8a will give them a yellowish tint. Google needs to step up their fine-tuning and colour accuracy.
I thought that evening out sky grain in night shots was purely algorithmic. As the Pixel 8 can do it, I thought that it was a no-brainer for the 8a. I guess not?
Wow! In good lighting conditions, the oixel 8a does a fantastic job, and in low lighting indoors, I'd say they both are equally as good. But where the iPhone takes the W is in low light conditions for video and for stabilization in video. But all other scenarios for and half the price the W goes to the pixel 8a. If it was my first smartphone and I had 600 bucks to spend. Definitely, the pixel 8a would be my pick. Plus, that $600 would get me a 256gb edition.
For the price difference, I definitely prefer the Pixel 8a. The Iphone had the obligation to be quite superior and it's not! That's why I prefer the Pixel 8a
Agreed. If people are spending £1200 simply for the camera , they're best off saving money and getting an 8a. Obviously the iPhone has the fancy pro res video thingy, pro RAW ( pixel has RAW for photos) iPhone is still better for video , but pixels are slowly catching them up with videography. For still photos using the main wide angle camera the pixel is equal, if not better than the iPhone pro max .
Thanks for the excellent comparison video! The 8a is going to be my next phone for sure. Did anyone ever tell you that you're the spitting image of Bill Pullman?
Selfie & night shots r a win for pixel. For this I still preferred Pixel photos. Other than that on good lighting conditions both r equal..Im quite surprised with Pixel video this time around. It improved quit a lot.
when doing zoomed comparison, you should adjust the zoom level to be the same, even if one is digital and the other one is optical. Digital zooms nowadays are much more optimised....
Pixel picture n front video camera is better than 15 pro max Not only front video but also more stable video than iphone N iphone have focusing issue bi notice
i use pixel 6a, pixel's A series offers more value compared to iphones but Google should really do something about the noise that creeps in in low light images especially in the sky region. You'll see every single photo is filled with a noisy sky while iphones look like they applied a navy filter. That looks more appealing imo. if you share the photo on SM, the noise looks soooo bad and it's there in all Pixels. Google should really do something about the noise.
8a is impressive but 15 pro max is just superiour. Price difference is not only to camera but other factors such as screen, build quality aluminium and plastic vs titanium and glass, processor etc
Superior is just a ridiculous word . Plus isn't this a phone camera review. iPhones currently have 'android' displays ( yes Samsung is android) I have an iPhone and a so called 'plastic' Google Pixel 7a, my 7a is more likely to survive a fall on the floor , plus considering it's made of plastic it's surprisingly well built and feels as hefty in my hand as my iPhone ( which cost nearly 3 times as much )
iPhone looks better. Sorry Android fans. I’m not blind and I notice a discernible difference. For example, the mountains at 2:20 look far better on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pixel looks foggy. It’s not supposed to look like that! The sky also looks off on the Pixel compared to the iPhone. Open your eyes people! In low light, the iPhone looks less noisy. The Pixel looks too warm for my taste. However, the Pixel does better in some situations such as selfies and skin tones. The iPhone does better than the Google Pixel 8 Pro in many situations as well.
I would totally buy cheaper pixel a series but I'm apple's bitch now and can't really comfortably switch anymore so I'm staying with iphone and it gives me everything I need.
For still photography the iPhone is not superior, for videography Yes the pro max is better . Remember, this is Google's base model and it costs roughly a third of the price
UW-lens and selfie cam is clearly superior on the iphone...pixel is more noisy. Main camera is good on both. Iphones have improved their HDR in series alot... especially the highlights.
That's just the ISO, to combat this they could reduce the ISO a bit, but this would mean lowering the shutter speed . Maybe the iPhone has a larger aperture?
Actually, your comment is quite incorrect. I own a pixel and an iPhone, the pixel is better at stills photography, iPhone is better at video and I'm not an apple or android fanboy, I like and own both brands
Pixel 8a is really impressive. Thanks for the video. Really hope you make a camera comparison between pixel 8a and regular pixel 8
