I have a 8a and it's buttery smooth, enough performance to handle every daily task and an amazing camera and gets many years of support so who cares if it's "last gen". The times where a new gen really introduced significant improvements are long gone.
Best comparison so far. Great way to simultaneously show both phones camera capacities. This is the evidence I needed to go for Pixel, not only Pixel 8a but any Pixel so far. Great job 👏🏼
It's interesting how the iPhone records the face better, but the Pixel does a great job of trying to maintain a balance between the background and the face. The iPhone burns the background, especially the sky. 2:35
all pixels has the same cpu and same image processing. so price is not matter that much. you can use pixel 6a and will get similiar results. pixels are excels in camera. im former pixel 7 pro user. the phone gets super hot even instagram scrolling. but 8 and 9 series are much better about heating & battery efficiency.
Got the Pixel 8a mainly for the superior camera but also the extra features you get, while iPhone hasn't change in several years. Youre buying the Apple iPhone branding but not getting anything in return. Love my 8a, transfer from iPhone 12 was easy and painless. Been a while that I love having a cell phone again, insane amount of ringtones on the 8a - reminds me of cell phones in the early years. Got mine for £270.
The photos are so similar from both the phones under good lighting. Sadly the Pixel8a is priced similar to the iphone 15, (50-70$ difference) in my country and for that price it's a no brainer to choose the Pixel over the iphone 15, which comes with better overall hardware.
The Pixel 8a isnt close i think. Pixel 7a could sometimes give me better shot than my iPhone 15 Pro. Now i have a 16 Pro and that camera overall is a little better then 15 Pro. But my regular Pixel 8 give 16 Pro a fight except Zoom and video. I tried Pixel 8 Pro for some weeks, there i must say overall picture go to the Pixel 8 Pro except video. Tomorrow i get Pixel 9 Pro i guess except video, the pictures will be even better, more balaced pics with more correct HDR. iPhone nead to get rid of the strong contrasts between too light and shadow areas part. As a phone im happy with iPhone 16 Pro but i regret upgrade from 15 Pro though. The smooth Pixel animation, scrolling and haptic is the best i've ever tried
@dpreshiy I think Pixel 9 Pro is fantastic phone, little better still pictures than iPhone 16 Pro, peak brightness in the display on Pixel 9 Pro, some of the best out there, the haptic is better. But as an all-round mobile I prefer the iPhone 16 Pro, I'm in the Apple ecosystem so that matters a bit too. Something no one talks about is how long Pixel phones take to focus, has been a regular occurrence since the Pixel 6 and is still there on the Pixel 9 Pro. I dont know why 🤔
You know, the A series always wins in blind tests. Google has really done a great job with them. I just hope they don't mess it up. They have this weird habit of ruining everything just because they can.

"More than double the price" is the understatement of the year.
Here in Germany the iPhone 16 Pro is 1200€ and the 8a is 400€. Thats actually 3x.

If I have to choose the phone just by overall camera quality, I think it is a tie. Which means that pixel 8a wins (I have just bought one for 390€)

Gotcha so don’t get the 2022 Pixel phone and rather get the 2024 Pixel phone.
