i was about to comment on another convenient way to switch track on seqtrak but noticed you inserted an update :-) anyway, i'm trying to figure out how to use a midi controller to trigger the different drum channels without laptop (w/c can use a midi channel mapper)... do use a physical midi channel mapper to manually play drums on seqtrak? as oppose to recording/sequencing one drum sound at a time...
For the seqtrak when it comes to live performance you may want to use Songmode or scenemode. You can still change effects or even change the pattern of the particular instrument. or you change the quantize so if you change the pattern it kicks in after one or two beats/bars
Wish Yamaha would basically put the Seqtrak into their Reface form factor with an integrated keyboard. Including the drums similar to how the OP-1 works with drums.
thanks as always dood, any alternatives to the seqtrak that come to mind? Im looking for something to pair with my sp404mk2 for dawless and live performances
Also, by the way you can run your EFX passes in parallel, or series On the SP404. You can also run pads or the external in directly to the out and omit the effects as well. It’s very flexible in that regard.
Are you sure I can choose which bus the external input goes through??? I didn’t know that! I had attempted it but couldn’t figure it out. Will take another look!
@@Taetro Choose the EFX bus, you want, and then hold remain and tap the EXT pad. You can do the same thing with all the other pads, sending some through one bus and some through another and some through none at all. I do it all the time. Cheers!
@@Taetro you can also midimap all four affects buses. For example, you can transition with a delay, a high pass filter, and verb and tweak the effects all at the same time.
GUESS WHO'S BACK! ITS ME! (wow what a banger track that is, you just combined every element of lofi with chase and status level drums) Let me just dust off my $500 Push that's just been pushing down on my desk, cause someone has got me motivated
I love this case. It’s slightly bigger than a previous pedal board I was using, this setup fits nicely with plenty of room for all these cables, plus the usb hub and portable power bank when needed!
Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing your setup. Can't the sp404 send a program change to the synthtrack (my novation circuit tracks send PC to my others gears)? Also you should buy a 90° angled usb cable ;)
the answer is that - yes you can likely achieve the same results or solve the problems of performance capability in different ways. I just happen to be exploring new gear all the time as a part of my work here on youtube and I'm not constrained to just having an MPC one and a midi keyboard so I look at all of my tools and try to come up with a workable combination. There is no objective best combo - it's all just how you use the tools you have.
As a professional music producer, I must say that after thoroughly familiarizing myself with the device and all its functions, it is clearly designed for children or teenagers who are beginners or who love to play or create rhythms, melodies, or music. It is not suitable for serious adult professionals. It is essentially a toy with a high-end price tag. AKAI MPC KEY 37 is the best portable solution.
Idk a single “professional” music producer that spends time speaking like this on the internet let alone copy & pasting the comment across multiple videos 😂
a friendly reminder to always RTFM 😅
I got 4 to read now, gonna be a long month.

One of the best channels on UA-cam man, really good overview, watched the full song as well and loved it 🫡😎
Thank you so much Dylan and great work with your channel too!
@@Taetrothank you!! 😭🙏😎
You can press a knob in and turn and release on the scene you want it to jump to. And it will also jump at the end of the current scene’s loop.
Yes! This is where I often mess up though, on the release!
The amount of manual reading required for this is truly a skill in itself.
Absolutely! 😂
Wish Yamaha would basically put the Seqtrak into their Reface form factor with an integrated keyboard. Including the drums similar to how the OP-1 works with drums.
Ooooof this is a fantastic idea! Like a SEQTRAK Pro perhaps…
This would be perfect!
Maybe give Novation and Akai a run for their money. 😄
Yeah but I hate the Reface keybed. The velocity is way out of wack.
@@firekeeper09 I actually think the Reface line has the best mini-keys available of any manufacturer.

great setup and rundown! love to see each person's unique approach and yours is well thought out.
Do you have a link to the USB hub you are using? Not seeing it in the description. Thanks!
Which USB Midi Host are you using? Thanks for the inspiring vid!
Can you please explain more about the 4 duplicate patterns on the 404? I don't quite understand what the purpose is here.
Bro I really love your videos whenever i feel tiered from life , I watch them ❤✌
thanks so much my friend!
Bro spent all morning sampling my micro freak, with the sp404 mk2, I love this stuff.
I love the sampling rabbit hole!
@@Taetro Thanks for the reply. I had no idea how much fun this stuff is.
great set up! do you know if there is a way to save more than 8 projects on the seqtrack?

Wowwww it’s Winston
love the red regulus
Any way to assign pattern switching to a button on the midi controller?
Awesome! Thank you so much of showing your setup :)
This is awesome!
How do you like the analog case? Do the cables have enough clearance from the frame of the case?
I love this case. It’s slightly bigger than a previous pedal board I was using, this setup fits nicely with plenty of room for all these cables, plus the usb hub and portable power bank when needed!
Nice but it's missing a foam insert with cutouts for the Taetro shot glasses.
Haha true!!
awesome setup Teatro, I just gor the Seqtraq after watching your video
Are you able to use koala sampler on the iPad mini with the sp404mk2? via usbc?
I've been eyeing the iPad mini for awhile now
I know this is the wrong channel but how do I add my beat to the bootcamp playlist?
I filled out the form in the email that I got and I don't see it on the playlist.
congrats on completing the bootcamp! glad your track made it to the playlist!
@@Taetro Thanks man, I am so grateful

I will have to look into the program change thing! I assume I would need to map a pad to do the pc? And yes! Angled cables would be clutch!!
Damn! SP-404 doesn't send program change. Maybe you can try with the launchkey: "Shift + Octave buttons sends Program Change message"
Every time I want to buy a new product I ask myself. Can't I do this on my MPC One. Why not just an MPC One with the Mini Keyboard you have?

Just add a torso T1 for sequencing the seqtrak
It’s funny because they look exactly the same 😂
@@Taetro Perfect screenless dawless setup... maybe it should be a new trend ;)
@@Taetro and it just works by connecting the two through USB C
I have a question: how do you apply those stickers?🤭
Just stick them on and cut around with a fine blade!
