Time Keeper is notoriously known to be the boss that you either beat in 10 seconds or she beats you in 10.
Also the Rise of the giant dlc is completely free, just so you know.
me with my like 20 surv. scrolls and a giantkiller with extra crit damage multipliers entering clock room
Dude I wanted to do it no hit, and I did a little save scumming on mobile, it took me an hour and a half. But since I had auto hit on I literally could stand there and tank every hit given and still beat the boss.
Freaken annoying lol.
10/10
Time keeper is a she?
@@goooofybooof6661 did you not know lmao
@@SquishGD not really looked like a guy to me also I just the first 'end' this morning
wait until bro finds out that's not the final boss
Yeah... that was just the tutorial.
I miss being able to heal and play at a slow/steady pace
@@BobJoe-y7x Honestly I think its fun to be forced into a faster pace to keep your speed buff going and be an absolute force of nature rushing from enemy to enemy destroying everything. Makes you feel like a god
ya that not the fanil boss
Yea I miss the fountains……
congrats on finishing the prolog ,now the real game starts with the introduction of BCS (Boss Cells), hope you are ready because things are gonna start getting even harder 🔥🔥
and I would highly recommend buying the DLCs for this game because they add a lot of new bioms with new enemies and content and new bosses to the game
BETTER CALL SAUL
Congrats you just started the game by beating HotK for the first time lol
Yeah. I beat him 1 time out of like . 50 runs so far
@@AutisticJesusGaming Skill Issue. I beat 5BC with cursed sword only
@@AutisticJesusGaming you can get pass it :)
@@Insidious1956 good for you bro. How many runs did you have to go through to get that skilled…? A lot more than 50 I’m sure :/
@@I_am_box Been playing for a while. I'd like to see you beat all of 5BC no hit
Ohhhhh, you're that "first time Dead Cells" fella! Glad you like the game! Just letting you know that I ALMOST beat 5BC because of the inspiration your previous video left me with, keep it up man!
That’s great to hear dude! It’ll take a while, but I’ll work up to 5BC eventually.
@@mintmuffled I'm sure you will!
Probably the hardest thing to do is beat the true final boss without taking any damage @@ogorekcyfrowywdupiekota
@@mintmuffled u won't 🔥🔥🔥
@@mintmuffled yeah sure
Something super important that I don't think you mentioned is that slowly draining orange part of your health bar when you get hit. If you deal damage while that's up you'll regain some of that HP. The more damage you do before it meets up with the green part, the more you regain. Dead Cells really rewards an aggressive playstyle and since you lean towards brutality (same) it's definitely something worth leaning into.
Loving the videos, congrats on clearing 0BC!
I noticed I did this once while I was editing. I never knew while playing so I didn't mention it, but it's good to know!
29:34 "I wonder what would've happened if I had that minutes ago"
Based on the amount of parries I saw before, even less freezing than with the syringe 😂
I know it sounds odd, but I actually really like watching someone play video games where they're not a gaming god? There's so many challenge videos and "MLG skills" type videos on here, and it's really gratifying to see someone normal play a hard game and slowly get better at it. Dead Cells is one of my favorite games, and I felt like a coach watching this and popped for you when you killed Hand of the King for the first time. I love this sorta art dude, I'm glad you're falling for this game too!
YOOOOOOOOO im happy that you continue your way to insanity, also happy to help in the past vid (idk if you learned smth from me especially, but still happy to help)
Amazing video, the commentary and editing was great.
If you're going to continue playing, here's some tips:
1. Use shields and learn to parry enemies, it'll help you immensely as you can play it safe while dealing extreme damage at the same time.
2. There's another boss to fight. All I'll say is go into the big door and then beat conjunctivius and find a new thing.
3. Invest in legendary forge, it's very useful especially in higher bsc.
Good Tips! And i use shields!!! that's good right?? :)
@@viktorsorensen9822 Yea
Why is noone talking about the parrying? In my opinion the rogue-like with the absolute most satisfying parrying. A million different shields that each have their own perfect parry effect **chefs kiss**
0:15 We're gamers, of course we check the left before the right in 2d games.
Congrats on beating your first run, good luck getting to the final boss. I've been playing since early access and I'm still struggling on 5 boss cells
I recommend buying all dlcs, because it gives you a lot of biome and boss variety. You also get loads more items, enemies and just a ton of more stuff to play with. Additionally the story is continued with all of those. Trust me, it makes the journey to 5bc a lot more fun. But be warned. Attempting 5bc might actually be one of the hardest, if not the hardest, thing in the roguelike genre. Atleast thats what my experience tells me.
As a tip for weapons, if you see for example a blood sword III and a blood sword V as in the vid but the III has a better effect, it’s usually a better idea to pick up the V because you can reroll the weapon’s effects but you can’t reroll the weapons level
I have played the living heck out of this game and learned a few things.
- All the DLC rocks hard as heck!
- there are about three general catagories of weapons [Standard] [Gimmick] [Reference] and they all rock
- A mix of the mutations [Vengeance] [cursed Flask] and [exectuioner] is AMAZINGLY potent
I like the BattleBlock theater music in the background lol, I hardly hear it anymore 🎶
Everyone gather around for show
Watch as this man disappears as we know
Do me a favor and try to ignore
As you watch him fall into a mad determination to beat 5bc as he discovers love and hate on two sides of the same coin and flips it to see whether he'll survive another curse cause he needs to max scroll count to sustain damage but risks mental warfare if an enemy does something jank an hour into the run and he spontaneously combusts
Congratulations! You won the first big step of the game. There are still SO many weapons and biomes you can still unlock (and buy :p, especially the castlevania one). Your journey through the boss cells, should you take it, wont feel stale at all.
Dude I love this Dead Cells series man, keep it up brother!
Thanks man! gonna be a lot more in the future.
You are soooo good at making fantastic content. Your channel deserves better.
i forgot how much i loved this game. There are so many ways to put a kit a together and even so, no matter how overpowered you get, a desynched moment could be your grave, giving everything a high octane feel.
long time dead cells player here. really cool video and i enjoy it a lot. its helpful to note that it never gets easier and thats why I and so many others love it. I look forward to seeing more dead cells videos.
You’re funny as hell bro, hope you keep growing cuz I’m here for it.
“Favourite greatsword weilder”
*me knowing what’s gonna happen*
this video is amazing. Everything from the vibes, to the editing, to the music. I was shocked when I looked down and only saw 12k subscribers cause this is a high quality video and if all of them are this good it deserves recognition.
Thanks for the kind words man!
@@mintmuffled this video made me buy the game on steam today. I have it on switch but my controller got drift so can't play it properly there
that feeling when you get the perfect build is always so satisying, great job on beating it for the first time!! :D
dead cells is a dangerous game, that "just one more run" costs you all your time
Welcome to the family ❤ I hope u get to 2bc quick tip for the pirate cap in stilt village is be ready to always roll behind
Congrats, you unlocked Hard mode !
Next step, Very Hard.
After that, Expert.
Then, Nightmare.
And finally, Hell, and the True Final Boss.
I also recommend getting the DLCs, they are a very nice change of pace.
22 was not that bad, I expected a lot more once you said you went double digits hahaha hope you keep on playing Dead Cells to see how far you can go. Also... yeah, it sucks that the game teases you will all the door levels you cannot go into, but the DLC are completely worth it :) Thanks for the video!
For your first mutation, dont take combo, just press up and take the very last one. Its a spare life, you can use your first death as knowledge on whether or not the run is "worth continuing" im a noob, but just something someone told me. I love the fact that you are trying to learn shields, armadillopack is great.
With armadillopack when you roll, you use the shield in your backpack. It makes the game so much easier. (Frost shield is epic for this)
I’ve only started getting into this game properly in the last week or so (on and off outside of work) I’m only on 1BC rn but it’s so satisfying watching this video seeing him start out exactly how I did.
I've been playing for a while and my absolute favorite combo is the flint (blueprint from concierge) and frost blade (weapon from the first kill door you got). If you freeze the enemy the slower attack of the flint doesn't matter, and its still ver fast for the damage it does.
Just a bit of a tip: that item you found at 30:52, the face flaks, will cause you to be hit, meaning you can use vengeance for an easy damage and damage reduction buff. Also works on non-legendary versions of the item. Hope this helps! Helped me with a lot of runs
I hope you comeback to this game again, I'm almost certain that you'll love it, there's almost thousands of builds. Your commentary makes this so much fun. Also you should definitely buy the dlc, it adds so much more stuff
just beat the kings throne boss yesterday if you have trouble beating the game it is likely due to not having all of you're permanent runes, go into assist mode until you beat all the bosses for them, trust me if I did that it would have saved me a LOT of time
Mint: hates elites
The Hand of The King: casually spawns 3 elites at the same time
The Pure Nail is amazing. If you find it, use it. You can hit in any direction with it.
I’ve been watching your channel since your first Celeste video, and I love to see how much you’ve grown in such a little time!
You will want to get the danged chest aspect because at some point you find the cursed sword and it one shots everything at the price of giving you the cursed debuff
you know if you roll through doors or break them you'll actually stun enemies on the other side. while it might be slightly faster to open them, it provides a great advantage to roll through them because then you can beat enemies like this 14:08 without taking a hit
So a little heads up, the yellow exclamation point that show up above the enemies heads are the signal for the parrying window
That’s not entirely true. Many enemies, like the ravager for example, will display a ! when they are going to begin their attack animation but don’t actually attack until they reach the player. Similarly, on low difficulty, the green zombies display a ! When they are about to leap at the player, but the parry window is not until the model reaches the player. Assassins have very long attack windups as well to try and throw off your parry. The truth is you have to learn every enemies attacks and parry windows and the ! Is pretty useless. Hell, there’s plenty of attacks that display ! That cannot be parried at all. I find the sound of attacks to be a MUCH more reliable indicator for parries.
Great video, love that you used music from other great games like Celeste and Cuphead
Keep up the good work :)
The pirates would be a lot less annoying if you learned to parry. Simply get close to him and parry his melee attack. He also gets stunned giving you a lot of time to hit him.
this is my first video seeing from u just because of my undying love for dead cells. after that im bingewatching your videos. im glad i found you :)
I bought this game last week and just had time to sit down and play last night. I love it so much. It sucks you right in.
Nice vids as usual and gg for ur first win !
I had a terrible idea, play dead cells but every time you pickup a reference weapon you have to go and beat that game then come back to dead cells
you def should go for beating the boss on 2 cells now. can't wait for the vid
This makes me wanna play Dead Cells again, thank you
After 400+ hours I 100%ed (achievements, not blueprints) it. Then a new DLC came out and I still have 2 achievements left, 600+ hours in
I love this game, I don't like what had happened bts in the last update decisions but, I still love the game.
I’d really enjoy it if you made more Dead Cells content, maybe some one color only runs if you’re looking for a challenge? Or the DLCs? You just make it so enjoyable to watch
congrats on finishing the tutorial
There’s a parry shield in silt village which you’ll need an extra key at the end of right which you need the ram rune. Good for helping you get in those parries
Not sure if you’re gonna see this but Legendaries don’t exactly act like a colorless. They go off the highest TWO scrolls you have, so it’s always best to scale two, for example prioritize red and do green any other time, to max out any legendaries you find.
That one reference you didnt recognize is actually from this incredible mobile game called soul knight
This is my favorite run on UA-cam, amazing videos, want to see more with the boss cells !
18:30 Clearly he's never had to Slay a Spire before
This is a great surprise for my yt feed. I like your vids a lot so far, and really like celeste too. Fun!
I also played the game until i finally beat it like a few days ago, took 290 gameplay hours. I mean actually beat it, I dont mean unlocking the first difficulty out of 5. For a game thats super cheap its so much more fun, replayable, and keeps you invested than 90% of triple A games. Also the way you get to observe yourself actually improving and progressing over time is so enjoyable
love the battlebox theatre background music!
The invisibility with the assassins dagger woudl have been goated
someone correct me if i’m wrong, but i think time keeper got shredded bc the +60% damage to bleeding targets on your fire grenade also applied to the fire on the ground, which paired perfectly with blood sword
33:35 "Where else would the king me"
*Me me laughing to myself* oh when he figures out
dude i just realized how entertaining you are this is the first time i watched a gameplay video longer than 30 minutes last time i watched was probably 3 years ago. Also how many hours did it take you to beat dead cells?
Wait for the blue bird enemy if Ur having a hard time with the pirate
If your going to continue this awesome series you should totally get the dlcs they are totally worth it and add so much especially in terms of weapons. They also add options if you want to avoid areas.
Also new awesome bosses
If you're not going to practice parrying, which you will HAVE to do at some point, then getting crowd control like Frost Blast or that frost shards weapon in your off-hand makes things so much better.
This game becomes complete hell after the first Difficulty I will say. But hella fun to try the most ridiculous builds.
i immediately thought "a LOT more than 50"
23:05 Tell me he didn’t just lose a hatori’s katana blueprint… I have wanted one for so damn long.
Soul knight reference
The Dale Gribble "sha sha sha" lol
Good job on beating the tutorial, now beat the actual game!
GG, i think it took me over 50 tries to beat it on 0BC. 5BC took me 700 hours, but if youre normally competent at video games you can do it in half of that :D (Or if you use the last patches OP items Baseball Bat or Foresight you can do it much faster)
Welcome to Dead Cells! Nice to have you here with us
I feel like beating the game in 22 runs is pretty good! Great video man.
Try to get the armadillopack mutation, blueprit drops from those dudes with thorns on their back who damage you if you hit them from the behind. It is really good for survivability.
Mans out here beating dead cells on his 23rd life. In skul it tool me like 67 tries to beat the base game lmao
At the end,he is wearing an outfit, said outfit is the commando from risk of rain 2.
Wow, this was incredible to watch, now time for me to go back to trying to beat 0BC for the 102nd time...
Edit: I finally got to 1BC on my 115th run!
Great video as always Mint!
Thanks man!
Paused this video half way and played a run. Got to the end and beat the hand of the king for my first boss cell then returned to finish the video
i like how he becomes slightly more insane throughout the video
Congrats my man i will wait for the all bc runs
game: dead cell
background music: from hollow knight
nice
im typing this early in the video so maybe you find out later, but the trap also stops enemies from turning. combine this with the crit on backstab dagger and the first boss is pathetically easy to no-hit
I actually didn’t know that! That’ll help for future runs
7:46 famous last words lol
id love to see more. just saying there may or may not be a secret for reaching 5 boss cells and beating the hand of the king
there is the support mode in the game that can help you respawn in that same level
just waiting for when he finds out you can parry the pirate cannon balls lol
So now you just have to beat the final boss
Dude awesome. I started playing after your first vid and im at 4 bc now. I also needed some legendary items to beat 0bc hand of the king. Now i can do it with anything. Still waiting for the hollow knight vid. Also would love if you played hotline Miami
Congratulations on the tutorial. Please play the rest as well. (also the DLC are 100% worth the money. Tehy add so much and supoirt the devs.)
I will! I want to get all the achievements in the base game before I start getting into DLC
@@mintmuffled I would strongly recommend playing dlc before 100% because it adds so much more variety
@@mintmuffled Dont do that, dlcs makes getting the achievements so much more fun, trust me it wont ruin your experience in any way if you buy them now
@@mintmuffled Definitely makes sense. Especially since the worst achievemnets are from the DLC. 400 hours in and is still dont have Lighthouse of Dracula no-hit.
I have beat the game many times and i still HATE the pirate captains so much and still die to them
Love this channel! This video reignited my dead cells addiction haha!
does he know he could put items in his backpack? 😂
you know that the glitchy bug and knight skin comes from soul knights since they had a collab
Late to the video but man it was rough watching him want freeze synergy for the whole video since it goes away after the first hit... also that whole can't freeze bosses thing. Awesome video and commentary throughout though hope ya continue to play the game. Subbed and planning to check out what else ya do while I wait for you to hopefully do more with the game
20:20 honestly I’d love to see you try and beat skul first try. One of the most underrated roguelites out there.
