Useful tips:
- One color only
- Shield good
- Game does not get easier
Yeah you should use a shield even if its not the color your using.
game does get easier, actually
@@jaxon3186 no.
@@jaxon3186 yeah it gets a lot easier (not just with the knowledge and mechanical skills progression), but also with things that shall not be mentioned (spoilers) that just make runs objectively easier
@@jaxon3186 after second cell it becomes pure cancer to play, I’ve beaten chemist at 5 bc and it wasn’t as bad as my first run on 3rd cell
What kind of monster just opens the doors in this game??
He must be worthy
I've beaten the true ending of the game (5bc spoiler boss in the kings outfit) and it took me over 130 hours to get it: the game is freaking hard dude. But I love it and I would love to see this turn into a series!
5bc is a huge accomplishment and so difficult welcome to the our ranks
me too, i even uploaded it, but its not that the game is hard, its just more punishing and requires you to know what you are doing, its actually one of the games i would love to play because it just feels like a rythm , you need to get used to the controls and thats it (i beaten it on 5bc with king outfit and 100 curse from the bank send help 💀)
@@NuriDerBurrito bro how tf you managed to get 100 curse from the bank?
@@NuriDerBurrito nice i have got around 5 alt accounts and they all have beaten 5bc but sadly on my mobile accounts u cant get kings skin
I’d expect over 130 hours into that, if it were me i’d have like 500-600 before I even TRY thag
for future reference, while increasing all stats to be around the same is great for health, dps in dead cells is way more important. its much better to push one colour as high as you can and only upgrade the other 2 when your primary colour is not available on a particular 2-stat scroll.
tips to add(for anyone trying this game out):
1. one color stat instead of balanced spread (brutality is the best imo)
2. dont get hit even once
3. mutations that give you boosts when you get hit will be useless (if you dont get hit)
4. do NOT let your guard down even when you think youre fine (hp will deplete faster than my bank account)
5. weapons can be used in combos with abilities and other weapons (balanced blade+ combo mutation or baseball bat + throwing knife etc)
6. you can freeze yourself in the air when you attack an enemy so floating bosses, flying enemies, nothing is safe from you
7. when in doubt, parry
8. use gadgets/ abilities generously, dont save them
9. kill, die, learn, repeat.
" Hp will deplete faster than my bank account" 😂
Dude, these videos deserve so much more love from UA-cam, keep up the top tier work.
1 tip only, don’t get too upset when you die…it happens a lot and in the stupidest ways
Its absolutely crazy that dude got the 2nd rarest drop in the game and was just like, i don't to be cursed
vengeance by itself is actually a pretty bad mutation, you don't want to condition yourself into thinking it's okay to take damage at all. they only way it's useful is with something like face flask, which only damages you slightly but still provides the buff.
Spite sword, face flask, vengeance and corrupted power is the most overpowered thing that could happen to a man
@@jaxon3186 its good against bosses
This video was really cool, and it makes me want to just try the game casually. That might be the best compliment I can give. Well done!
underrated video! keep up the good work. i recomend trying to learn how to use a shield to parry as it helps a ton
I'll give it a try! I almost completely stopped using the bow on my second try anyways.
Assault shield FTW. Best item in the game.
Some tips: the glowing blue symbols on walls and the ground are secrets, interact with the wall ones or groundpound the floor ones to get money or food that will heal you, go into the menu and use assist mode to customize the difficulty
I was internally screaming at my phone “GRAB THE SHEILD. PLEASE.”
0:13 "it gets easier"
Yeah of course
The game gets hard but you get harder
@@adityagandhi5040harder as better equipment or harder as your own gameplay gets good?
@@ZSQ308 Both, you become less hesitant (get better coordination and reflexes) and the equipment quality also increases.
I always love to see people's first reactions to Dead Cells
Explanation why some people tell you to use 1 scroll type only:
The scroll damage increase is not linear, but rather exponential. Each scroll's damage boost becomes much more significant each scroll you have. Getting a new scroll when you already have 27 has a much bigger effect than if you had 1.
I would love to see you play more of this, really cool seeing how someone with no outside knowledge went about their first run.
I’m still new the this game and only got past to the ramparts on my second run. It’s fun to see new player experience this game way differently then others.
This was great stuff dude!
Id love to see more dead cells content from you💯
That rolling and attacking switch was actually what killed me the most in the beginning, culd not get it in my damn head that it works that way, took me a good while, glad i am not the only one! :D
will never forget my first winning run on this game, frost blast and a shield that could parry frozen enemies, such a vibe
hey man as someone who finished the true ending, here’s some quick tips:
focus killstreak (kill 30/60 enemies without any damage) doors, as you will force yourself to not get hit and it will become very important very fast later.
dont spread your scroll count. focus on one of three stats (brutality, tactics and survival) as the stat you choose to upgrade will make the those gears stronger in that category in general.
learn to parry. parries in general saved my @ss in so many situations that i cant count
Dude you are super underrated, please continue with dead cells
I love this game, and seeing you getting quite the run for a second (we can forget that part) first attempt is nice. I have beaten the games true ending without taking damage so I consider myself quite a dumbass for spending too much time in a random game. But since me no life I might give you a few tips. Only chose one class if you can, since each time you chose a class it multiplies the damage felt by 1.15, this thing gets astronomical quick, so if possible chose only one class, the lil bit of extra health is NOT worth it. Try and learn how to use and abuse the shield, the shield is absolutely broken in this game, if you learn how to pary consistently you basically can’t take damage (there are a few attacks that can’t be parried but not many). ALWAYS take curse chests and stuff, since those give you scrolls they are worth a LOT, and when you get good enough to be smart and not take damage when you don’t want to (I mean like how to take it slow and boring but safe), the scroll is so worth. Try and sinergies your build, some items poison enemies and others deal crits to poisened enemies, you see where I’m going? and try to include the mutations in your builds. Btw YOLO is NOT good, I literally never used it but a friend with a lil more than 2k hours on the game says it’s trash and I trust him, since he got the hardest thing to get: the thing from beating boss rush lvl4 flawlessly. Anyways hope to see you play this amazing game again, good luck and continue this amazing content.
dead cells and celeste are in my favorite games and played them a lot back in 2018, it's nice to see videos on both of them from you :)
good luck with getting all the achievements on this one though, haven't even dared to try myself, since some of them seem quite hard lol
So I probably could not have gotten all the achievements myself either but there is a handicap mode in the game where you can I believe, reduce the enemies health down to 20% and their damage down to 20%. It is insane that it is included and does not disable achievements or boss cells. And it is in the settings so you can activate it at anytime. Just start a game and set it and you can be on your path to completion (granted it won’t be from true skill but if you are a completion like me or want all the blueprints, then there you go)
Celeste is fantastic. Game of the year, whatever year that was. Dead Cells is great too. I don't know what all the achievements are, but I at least got far enough to finish 5bc and then got the queen's ugly gold outfit entirely by accident while trying to get her pretty pink outfit. Then I was frustrated and didn't touch it for years... but it was fun again when I started over.
@@ToyKeeper Flawless victory!
Wrong outfit! Oh no! Wrong outfit!!
@@iceshadow625 i actually didn't know that! similar to celeste in that regard then lol. i'm somewhere between a completionist and just looking for the challenge myself. i don't really mind using things like that for achievements, but when it comes to games i really enjoy, i'd love to 100% them without any help :)
@@ToyKeeper i thought i was done with celeste after getting all the achievements, but a year back i finally decided to try modding the game, which brought me back into it. currently hunting the golden berries as well, "only" summit A-side, 6 B-sides and farewell left :D
i haven't really given much of a thought on dead cells achievements, since i mostly just play a couple of runs here and there. maybe i should give it a proper shot sometime. it's such a chill game when played casually, but can get a bit stressful when trying too hard 😅
I went into this game blind, after hearing how brutally difficult it was... and was instead surprised at how easy it is. Then a couple years later, having not touched it since, a friend came over to try it, and after 60 runs he had barely even reached the clock tower. So I thought maybe I remembered wrong, and I started up a fresh save. Beat it first try. So now I enjoy speedrunning it on a fresh file. I'm not very fast, but it's fun.
The turorial for this game is pretty hard. No wonder the reviewers struggled with this game.
I would love to watch you play this game!
Just a little tip: having upgrades like B3 T3 S3 (just an example) isnt good, since you have a very little amount of dmg.
Choosing B2 T6 S1 (That's also jsust an example, you can go with any upgrade you want)
is much better for your damage, and in the end you'll still have a plenty of hp.
I'll keep that in mind!
I saw the title and I was like
lol … no
It’ll be fun to see him fail
You know, trying to beat this game at 5BC now and seeing a Dead Cells newcomer struggle but have fun either way is REALLY motivating, so thanks I guess :)
assassin's dagger+ frost blast
you're welcome
A piece of advice from someone who has over 1000 hours in the game:
The orange bar over your health after getting hit is regainable. deal damage and teh orange bar will turn into health again.
Also, never go for health in scrolls. Always take the one you need for the wapon (Use 2 weapons of the same color i possible and also a shioeld is recommended).
If you played the game more and gotten past a few boses, after a boss room theres a dude who wants cells to upgrade rarity of weapons, give him the cells, you can break the door after the collector, so you dont have to spend the cells there, take them with you until after the bosses.
As a 5bc player with over 900 hours in the game, you gotta put all your scrolls in one color. Dual stats that aren’t your main color go in whatever gives you the most health. Make sure you check out the whole biome so you don’t miss any scrolls or you’ll be under powered later.
Fun fact if you beat undertale to quickly at the sans fight you will see sans eating a ice cream and it takes 5 mins for him to eat it ruining speed runs
honestly Dead cells is one of the best pixelated games I have ever played so much content for only 3Gb it took me a full year to get bored with it. also please make this a full series I would love it ❤
Tip: if u hold up the shield at the last moment an enemy attack, u can block all the damage and deal damage to the enemy
good first try, prepare for many more 😀
Scroll damage multiplier is multiplicative so the damage from 10->11 is much bigger than 3->4
this video makes me miss being new at dead cells tbh, it was so fun knowing nothing about the game
Did this guy just find a corrupted artifact on his first run IN PRISONER'S QUARTERS? I didn't even know the game could be this cruel, wth
Great video, would like to see you play this game more, I'm also a fairly new player, got the game 3 weeks ago and have 20 hours in, I felt like watching myself playing for the first time while viewing your video.
Great video! A tip if you play again. Try to spread your stats as little as possible and only focus on one color. Also try to worry about damage less and dodge more.
I dont think you can imagine what journey awaits someone who wants to do this game on all achievements. It gets a lot tougher further down the road with NG+ and all the Dlcs
I got tricked by the completion time on TrueAchievements. it says 20-25 hours, but I found out later that's because of assist mode. Didn't know what I was getting into lol
You mentioned you were having some trouble with rolling on a face button, I personally hate default controls and have a much better alternative. this is coming from a hollow knight player if that wasn't apparent. I'll translate to xbox controls since that's what it looks like you are using
A - Jump | B - Interact | X - Primary Attack | Y - Heal
L - Left skill | R - Right skill | LT - Secondary Attack | RT - Roll
L Stick - Secondary Interaction | R Stick - *Secret input*
LT for secondary attack might seem weird at first but it's actually amazing for shielding and pretty great for bows, and you never have to move your fingers
"This game is a rouge-like, meaning as you play through it, it gets easier."
Whos gonna tell him?
So nobody gonna talk about the fact that this guy on his first run found the cursed skull the second rarest money source in the funkin game like......bruh how
It is completely normal to just use one type of weapons, my favorite is swords because they are easy to control
bro i saw your dead cells videos and it inspired me to get it and i literally just beat it on my very first try 😭
Babe wake up new Mint Muffled video just dropped
Well, after countless hours playing the mobile version with varying degrees of success, you can technically beat the game on the first run, in a new save, on a different platform. It just requires a lot of experience.
You got this man, great video
this video made me sub. MORE DEADCELLS
i killed king on my 3th try ever an hour ago with 3% lifesteal thing, one bleeding sword, 2 turrets and freeze thing
I will watch your adventures with great interest little one (not so little you sound like a mature and well distinguished gentleman) good luck in future runs
I somehow managed to beat the timekeeper on my first run, then instantly exploded to an elite on the next zone
In most of my runs after this video, I MELT timekeeper. But the Concierge still gives me trouble every time.
You could try getting to the end of Noita first try. Or seeing if you can beat Blasphemous in one go too.
Great video, the game does look fun, it’s been on my to do list for years.
Noita would be unironically impossible.
Blasphemous is on the list, but I completely forgot about Noita. I'm sure that won't be a disaster of a run.
Beating Noita first try? Oh wow, that got me laughing pretty hard.
@@ToyKeeperwell, ya know Mint Muffled. He likes a challenge 😅
Beating Noita without external knowledge of the game is almost impossible, because there are barely any information on the game IN the game.
Doing it on first try is actually impossible. Even if you somehow manage to dodge every enemy, explosive and straight up bullshit the game throws at you, you will end your run by firing a wand you shouldn't have fired. And you can't avoid that because you need a good wand to beat later areas, but can't get a good wand if you don't know what spells do.
Would be more interesting to see if he can beat Noita in less than 100 tries.
Short answer: no no no absolutely not no, Took me 200 to 100% the game
Yeah approaching this like dark soulds and not a roguelike is hard on my eyes
The funny thing about the skull giving you a curse if you got it is that you were almost dead anyways... If you know what a curse does then it's really quite funny to not take it in that situation!
(Click read more to learn what a curse is)
I don't know if this is the only curse, but it's the only one I've seen so far. You have to kill a certain number of enemies without getting hit once, or you just die.
I am currently attempting a 5BC cursed sword run. Wish me luck
Got true ending after 50 hours. Replaying the game on 0 bc now to do it again
Of course WE want a second vids on this game !

Bro i suggest using the electrical ehip despite it has less damage it scales dealing insane damage usefull in early
For some who has beaten 5bcs multiple times, the choices made here gave me pain
I was about to comment but it seems others beat me to it: The game absolutely does not get easier with more unlocks except for the first few like the health flask. Some weapons are objectively better than others but not to a degree to make the game easier.
Almost beating the game in 2 attempts is something i could never get close to.
There are way more bosses and areas he would have to get past to beat the game.
I was probably 15% through a run lol
Well if you played it I have to play it to. Just right after I finish replaying devil may cry 3 and cod 2

Great video as always Mint! 🤣
Poised to finish, with one of the worst combos in the game, my man, you're already hooked, see you in 500 hours
ngl the collector seems heavily based on the collector from hollow knight. besides being a roguelike, this game im sure was influenced by hollow knight, and there is even a picture of the knihgt in a level somewhere. i mean, look at the collecters design in both games. they are both black with glowing eyes and surrounded by jars of stuff. seems suspicious to me
@@MagicCabbage both games came out the same year with only few months apart. And the hollow knight painting is just an easter egg. In dead cells u can even get the sword from hollow knight. Which means they have collaborated in a small way. Also a collector usually collects things in jars, so if you have a collector in a game, of course it’s gonna use jars to showcase it’s collection. And the designs are not similar at all in my opinion.
