    Both mics sound great with the HA73 and Bluey combination. The vocals were warm and full

      I like how the 610 added needed weight to the 320 v1. The bluey adds a mid-forward nature too

    V2 is definitely an improvement from the first version. Still has the crisp top end but more full sounding in the low mids and lows which is great. Great vid as always man! Love the series!

      Appreciate you bro for supporting as always.
      I thoroughly enjoy what the 320v2 represents. I think the V1 has a place but the v2 covers more ground in my opinion.
      It’s always dope when manufacturers he what say on the ground and respond positively!

      Speaking with a LA rep, the differences were mostly due to a change in the manufacturing process to make it easier to assemble and also asthetics. They said in a blind A/B test, they couldn’t tell which was which.

      @tobiasjansen9117 the guys over at Lauten commented directly on the video.
      I’ve got a decent relationship with them too. Have heard from them directly. And in my tests, I could audibly hear a difference

    As someone wanting to ditch his NT1a for a mic with the least amount of sibilance, I thought the V1 tamed the sibilance better than the V2. And mids sounded better on the V1. Both great mics though. Appreciate the work you put into this video. This channel will blow up. Well done.

    Wa87 R2 vs LA320 V2 ? which one would you choose?

    • @CarlMooreMusic
      @CarlMooreMusic  6 місяців тому

      I haven’t actually used the wa87 r2 but I know it has multiple polar patterns. If you need those, I’d say go with the wa87 r2 for sure. But I definitely like the tone of the LA320 v2. It’s much more versatile than the original version.

    • @RahulMakhijaOfficial
      @RahulMakhijaOfficial 6 місяців тому

      @@CarlMooreMusic actually I am having the same thoughts brother. I am liking the tone of Lauten audio. Can you just tell me which has a much fuller bass or lower frequency. Coz, I love a bit more bass heavy mics on my voice.

    • @CarlMooreMusic
      @CarlMooreMusic  6 місяців тому +2

      @@RahulMakhijaOfficial again, I’ve never used the wa87 r2 so I can’t speak to the low end or anything honestly on that mic other than the standard information/tech specs about the mic. I can say that the la320v2 is fairly even in my opinion. I wouldn’t classify either of these mics to have a substantial amount of low end representation to them.

      In this application, I didn’t use EQ but in a real world final take situation, I would throw EQ on the front of it. That makes me feel like it’s more versatile than the mk1.

    With hearing them like I dont know anything which is which, the first mic is better, people make this mistake or just looking at, brighter, warmer, top end, etc but they dont listen to which mics or process makes the song kind of sweeter. The first one did that, as if I am hearing a record in radio, these are better ways to see sound, from emotion or art perspectinve, instead loking at if the mic is bright or not bright. Music is art but fools forget that and never be legends or do antyhing legendary.
    I saw a video where someone sang through an sm 58 and sounded better than a very expensive condenser mic. Art is where its art, even Bruce Swedien has this approach and not the technical quality. I just prefer the first one. stop looking for which is warmer or bright and stop looking to names you know or brands you own, use your emotional musical ears; people
    thanks for this video brother

    I love my LA-220 V1 but I got to say this comparison shows the LA320 V2 is so Crisp and smooth which is hard to pull off. Great comparison and now I got to buy the V2 for my LA220 to see if it's also better than the V1

      The 320v2 is a solid mic! They really made the necessary adjustments. I don’t have experience with the 220 v1 or v2 but based on these two mics along with the Eden and the Atlantis, I’m sure the 220 v2 is a workable FET microphone at a competitive price

    Hey Carl. Great videos. Been bench watching a lot of them. Im on the market for a tube mic. I see you have used both warm audio cx12 and now LA 320 v2 . Which would you recommend despite the price difference? Also, I see you have the HA 73 preamp. Have you compared it to a Neve1073 spx? Hope to know your opinions. Cheers !

    • @CarlMooreMusic
      @CarlMooreMusic  Рік тому +1

      First off, thanks for checking out the video and commenting. For me, I think the intent of the mic would drive my decision. The multiple polar patterns on the cx12 have to be factored in. Sometimes I'm looking to capture more than what a cardioid only mic can do like the LA320 v2. Price point, the LA320 v2 is cheaper but it doesn't skimp on quality.
      I'm a fan of what Heritage Audio does and their 1073 pres are solid across the board. I've been able to compare it to an older Neve pre pulled from a desk and I felt like you was evident they're both in the same family. It just made more sense for me to go the Heritage route because they're still manufacturing what I compared.
      Hope this helps.

    Great vid Bro ! While i know this video is about the mic which I’m now interested in as well as the Stam c800 mic but the price on this 87 is nice .But my question is about my front end i already own a LA 610 but I want that 1073 style & I hear u mention the ha 73 I’m considering the britstrip & have been recommended shelford channel Bae 1176 style comps what advice or direction to get me out of this rabbit whole for my vocal chain at a decent price $3000 being the spending limit! Thanks in advance

    • @CarlMooreMusic
      @CarlMooreMusic  Рік тому +1

      My apologies for the slow response. I'm a fan of Heritage Audio's take on 1073 style preamps. From their most affordable options to their more expensive channel strips, it's a solid perspective.
      Audio-scape, Stam Audio, and even IGS have some killer 1173 style comps that won't totally break the bank but maintain quality. I don't know what revision of there 1176 you seeking but I've got the bluey from Black Lion Audio, and it's a mainstay in my setup. It's got the mid in your face vibe and then the dry/wet blend option is what all gear in this ear should offer even if it's not used.
      You won't go wrong with BAE, as it can speak to its own merits. But there definitely are option on the market for you and the price range you're working with.
      Keep me posted on your decision! Thanks for stopping by the channel, the kind words, and the interaction.
