I’m type 2 diabetic. I recently started eating a variety of fruits, bananas, mangoes, grapes, red & green both, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, and more! I eat that EVERY morning. My blood sugars went from 185-191 to 91-94 within 3 weeks! I eat a huge salad at lunch with fat free dressing and more fruit and a sweet
potato for dinner! Amazing turn around for someone who thought fruit was forbidden for myself!

Really impressive. I wonder if it's because you stopped all the process food? The hidden sugar prior to switching to fruits? The gut biome of each individual and current condition affects how a person process the food they eat. Hence, people should purchase a continuous glucose monitoring machine and see how their body reacts to the food they eat and adjust accordingly as they move to moderate their blood glucose.

I had AutoImmune Hemolytic Anemia at 48...my white blood cells were killing all my red. After 10 days in hospital, 12 blood transfusions...and a couple weeks of Prednisone [yikes!]...I took myself off that horrible drug after reading the side-effects and learning that turmeric is the strongest anti-inflammatory. I healed myself and went into complete remission by eating every colour of plant food and using a tsp or two of turmeric a day. Often I just mixed it in my green tea. I am so glad I didn't listen to Drs who said I'd be on Prednisone my whole life!

i am a practicing doctor, and i assure and confirm to all people that we doctors do not get any education on nutrition beyond what the average mildly educated person knows we are absolutely ignorant on the matter of healthy vegetarian diet and its critical importance to treating diseases, and so i urge all people to take full responsibility for their health and educate themselves on nutrition and avoid resorting to drugs as much as possible when possible with dietitians and physician consultation

Doctors also tell their patients to ‘cut down on the carbs’. This is misleading and misunderstood by patients. Fruit, grains, vegetables all contain ‘carbs’. What they should be conveying is STOP EATING BAD, JUNKY CARBS. We need doctors to be educated about this, and be able to communicate the information correctly to their patients. Can you help, Dr. Greger?

I agree! Doctors don't know diets thats why I like to help others on eating better. My poor brother have issues and have the number one killing disease but yet Doctors don't help but gives him meds. Now he have to have surgery just great. I told him to cut out fat and dairy. And of course all processed food. But he loves his fats. Ugh. They try keto. And that was bad. I even told them. Him and his wife. But It is what it is. They won't listen to me but listen to a Doctor that makes money for open heart surgery.

5 years ago at the age of 62 I broke both wrist. It was suggested that it was most likely I had osteoporosis, after a compressed fracture of my back I went for the test. Yes I did have osteoporosis. After a visit with my doctor it was suggested I eat and drink 1200 mg of dairy along with a calcium supplement and a prescription. While researching side effects of the prescription I stumbled upon a tutorial of an alkaline body. I immediately gave up acidic foods meat, dairy, fish, and started eating fruits and veggies. Just when I think I’m doing all that I can I learn new information. I’ll share two of my latest findings 65-67% of our bones are magnesium and it better absorbed through the skin, Epson salts. And there’s a herb called comfrey that was known as a bone knitter. I’m done, thanks

Is the human body made out of meat or is it made out of plants? Do you know where you came from? Do you know what diet your ancestors had ?

I've been told in hospital (Australia, Sydney) about cabbage for breast engorgement. I had it with the first child, very painful . Didn't believe that can help, but after my previous experience I would do anything. After the first symptoms I put the leaves, went to bed and when I woke up I see miracle! my breast was soft, perfect, with the right amount of milk. I was breastfeeding the whole year as that was easy and my baby liked the milk.

It is a truly horrendous industry that is driven by the massive overconsumption of milk and cheese. Milk is definitely NOT a vegan option!

In addition to the cookbook he mentioned (which I own and enjoy), there are lots of plant based UA-cam channels that have recipes; Pick Up Limes is one of my favorites. Or you can get recipes from a Forks Over Knives magazine (although, I will admit some of the recipes have not been as successful for me)
