Last year, my therapist asked me, "What if you re-framed the parts of yourself that you hate as just the parts of yourself that kept you safe from things you shouldn't have been dealing with?" Life changing. We've been doing a lot of "reclaiming childhood" work and it's very difficult but very healing.
I missed your face in my subscription feed Emma 🥺so good to see you back! I hope you (are able to, of course) post more in 2023 bc you're one of my fav booktubers and I love your energy and personality. happy new year! ♥
and lady midnight will be 7 years old in 2 months from now… what the actual hell omfggggg i still remember you and the girls getting the arcs of this book and like just the excitement surrounding the release and the book talks and everything and just ughh life really peaked then take me back 😭
Welcome back Emma:) the therapist. I did read zenith when it was in its glory, back then it was fun memory. Since your still a cassie fan read ledgen born :) its perfection.
LOVED Gallant!!! I'm such a fan of ghost stories and this one's "The Haunting of Bly Manor" vibes really sealed the deal for me. It was definitely one of my favorite books of last year, if not my favorite!
Welcome back, baby!! We've missed the hell out of you. Hope you're doing better and enjoying life. So happy to see your face in the booktube side of UA-cam again. Sending love, as always, from Canada.
Welcome back Emma! I just read The Box in the Woods recently and loved it! So it's really exciting to hear that Nine Lives might be even better. Looking forward to getting to it!
Happy to see you back Emma!!!!! We missed you so so so much. Also, will you be filming a reading vlog for CHAIN OF THORNS when it comes out on: January 31st, 2023? I would REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE TO SEE THAT😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😃😃😃😃😍😍😍😍
SO happy to see you back to doing your book reviews! I bought SO many books from Amazon back in 2020 when we were all quarantined because of your recommendations, and they were some of the best books I’ve ever read! Like “Red, White, and Royal Blue”, for example, since you featured a new version in this video. 😁😁😁
Oh, how I have missed your videos!! I really wasn't into YA books much but I LOVED hearing you talk about them. Your passion and drive was just insanely beautiful to listen to and watch. I was once an avid reader myself (more so romance, bios, autobios, etc) but I have fallen out of my reading drive, too. I most recently picked up My Life with Cleopatra: The Making of a Hollywood Classic cause I love old Hollywood and I can't wait to see the deets on this classic. Last year I bought Raising the Horseman, which is a take on the headless horseman and The Final Girl Support Group - I haven't finished either but I want to so bad as I enjoyed them both. Here's hoping 2023 allows both of us time to read and ignites the joy again, too!
When I was in America last April visiting my sister and brother in law, I went to Barnes and Noble twice and brought four books - Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco, You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao, Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren and Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon (signed). It was amazing 💜💜💜💜 My book buying in 2022 has gotten out of control but in honesty, book buying is my favourite and I love it. Book shopping is great 📚📚🛍🛍 And I've missed you alot 💕💕💕
I was so happy to see a new video from you in my subscription box! Nine Liars was such a fun read. And with the way it ends I'm now dying for the next book in the series.
Mauler and Questus by english writer Shawn Williamson. Mauler is indicated by english writer, historian, cinema director Andrew Sinclair. He compares It with White Fang by Jack London.
I need to pick up a copy of The Paris Apartment. I have heard so many great things about the book, and it sounds right up my alley. I will have to pick up a copy soon! Great haul Emma!
I legit started crying happy tears when I saw this video in my feed!!! I'm seriously reading City of Ashes!!! I really hope you're back. You've really been missed here on UA-cam.
Omg this is a sign I just binged city of ashes and city of glass in 4 DAYS it was my first time reading them (finally) I just loved them so much and then you post omg 💖💖
Glad to see you back. Hope the holidays went well. I think Lucy Foley's The Guest List was a better story than The Paris Apartment. I thought The Blacktounge Thief, How High We Go In The Dark and Legends & Lattes were my favorites of last year. The House In The Cerulean Sea, House of Sky and Breath and The Priority of the Orange Tree were my least favorites. Hopeful for a great 2023 reading year.
I’m currently reading Pachinko and almost halfway through it. So far, it’s all chronological so only one perspective/one timeline at the time. It’s very good 😊
Welcome back, Emma! 😁 Pretty sure Gallant is middle grade. If I remember correctly, V E had Victoria Schwab on the cover at first, but then decided to go by V E for all of her future books so her publisher changed the name. Hoping to see a Chain of Thorns vlog from you and cannot wait to see a completely new reading environment once you've moved in with Jake.
"V.E. used to publish her young readers novels under the name Victoria Schwab, but her new novel Gallant marks the first time she’ll be publishing under V.E. And that’ll be what she’ll be publishing all her stories as from now on!"
I wasn't feeling drawn to the first to die at the end and from what reviews are saying I think I will just skip it. I have I kissed shara wheeler too and need to continue reading it. I just finished reading I'm glad my mom died last night and it was emotionally intense. Loved heartstopper vol 4 so much too
I read Gallant and loved it, but I know a lot of people didn't. I think the biggest thing to understand about it is that Olivia has been in one place her whole life with no one who will listen to her.
This might be an unpopular opinion but it is very jarring when the book switches sides every few seconds. Sorrry please don’t hate me 😩😩😩😩 but it really makes it hard for me to follow along.
EMMA! It was so nice to see you in my sub feed. love you lots!
the queen is back!!!

The queen is BACK! I was so excited to see you upload a video 😃
So happy you're back on UA-cam! I love your videos and your natural way of talking about your passion. It feels like I'm listening to a friend :)
My girl has been WORKING. Great to see you again😊

Nine Liars was my first 2023 read too, and I loved it!! Definitely gave me the same feeling that Truly Devious gave me
you're one of my fave booktubers!!! glad to see you back
Missed you so much Emma!
The subtle art of nit giving a f*ck by Mark Manson is a good one I liked
VE Schwab is now always publishing her books with this name, no matter the content, she said she is more comfortable with this identity.
I missed you !!!!! Welcome back 🤗
hey! welcome back!
wanted to thank you for putting light on the harpercollins situation, as i wasn't aware of it before

You were very missed!!!
I've missed these video's sooo much. The "Hey what's up hello" will always be iconic 🤩❤
I need to pick up a copy of The Paris Apartment. I have heard so many great things about the book, and it sounds right up my alley. I will have to pick up a copy soon! Great haul Emma!
Hiiii I'm so excited to see you back. I started the Truly Devious books for you and I really love them
Glad to have you back doing the booktube thing! Take care of yourself!
Gallant didn't sweep me off my feet, but it's a fast, atmospheric read. It's a very solid 3 star kind of book in my opinion.
Great video, Emma! Nice hearing from you again. :) Hope you have an awesome 2023.
Carrie Soto is my favorite of TJR’s books
yaaay welcome back emma 🫶🏼
Thank you for making my day
I legit started crying happy tears when I saw this video in my feed!!! I'm seriously reading City of Ashes!!! I really hope you're back. You've really been missed here on UA-cam.
It's ok, post 2020 years are all blending together in my head, too. 😅
This is kinda random but you have my favourite thumbnails of any youtuber! I love the designs :)

I’m so confused about the letter n that popped up on the screen. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why it was there 🤔 anyway welcome back Emma!
Welcome back, Emma. 🤩😍🥰
I’m currently reading Pachinko and almost halfway through it. So far, it’s all chronological so only one perspective/one timeline at the time. It’s very good 😊
Agreed on Carrie Soto, definitely my least favorite of hers so far. So glad to see you making videos again!! ❤
I loved it, the dialogue she had with her dad was gold.
Loved this video! ❤ Pachinko is also one of my All-time Favorite reads
Still waiting for that Little Life vlog Emma ☺️
Hello Emma
Welcome back, Emma! 😁
Pretty sure Gallant is middle grade. If I remember correctly, V E had Victoria Schwab on the cover at first, but then decided to go by V E for all of her future books so her publisher changed the name.
Hoping to see a Chain of Thorns vlog from you and cannot wait to see a completely new reading environment once you've moved in with Jake.
it is not middle grade, it is young adult :)
FINNNNAAAAAALLLYYYYYYY 😍😍😍🎉
OMG I MISSED YOU never clicked something so fast
First of all SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR FACE, second I’m so much more pumped to read Nine Liars now!! I was scared it would somehow ruin it for me 😅
"V.E. used to publish her young readers novels under the name Victoria Schwab, but her new novel Gallant marks the first time she’ll be publishing under V.E. And that’ll be what she’ll be publishing all her stories as from now on!"
@Ville_x Dude, she literally asked in the video.
I need to get to Taylor Jenkin Reid's latest books soon, I adored Evelyn and Daisy
it’s still 2020 for me too no worries
So happy you are back!!! But 2020 no, don’t even mention it 🤣🤣😅
PLEASE TELL ME YOURE GOING TO DO A CHAIN OF THORNS THEORY VIDEO!!!
HIIII I MISSED UUUUU
Gallant is YA. I thought it was adult and was kinda disappointed because of it
🙌 yayyyyyyyy!
Nice to see you again Emma see you in your next video 💋💋💋💋
I wasn't feeling drawn to the first to die at the end and from what reviews are saying I think I will just skip it. I have I kissed shara wheeler too and need to continue reading it. The fact that I didnt even realise that you said 2020 lol, in my head it s still 2020
My goodness, Emma is gorgeous
I read Gallant and loved it, but I know a lot of people didn't. I think the biggest thing to understand about it is that Olivia has been in one place her whole life with no one who will listen to her.

I also bought the UK version of Carrie Soto because the American version was just so ugly, lol

Poor editing Emma 😂😂😂
