If your looking for another book about teen activism I would highly recommend Like A Love Story by Abdi Nazemian. It takes place in the 80’s in New York and it centres around the AIDS crisis. I’m almost finished it and I definitely feel like it’s going to be a five star. 😀

Just letting you know that serpent and dove actually came out in German in 2019 but is named "Game of Gold" (unfortunately without the beautiful original cover). And the second book will be released in April as "Game of Blood". Hope that helps ♡

Emma, if you loved The House in the Cerulean Sea then I highly recommend TJ Klune’s Green Creek series. It’s a LGBTQIA+ series that has 99% m|m romance, also bisexual, lesbian and asexual characters/representation. Also it’s about werewolves so that’s a huge bonus and is one of my favorite series I’ve ever read!

Since you enjoyed the House in The Cerulean Sea so much, you should try the Extraordinaries which is also by T. J. Klune. It‘s a queer YA superhero story but from the point of view from the clueless comedic love interest, so it reads a bit like a contemporary, I loved it so much!🥰
I just finished magic lessons by Alice Hoffman (one of October’s book of the month club books) and it was hands down one of my favorites for the whole year. Highly recommend

When the police were found not guilty that was when the LA riots started. Rodney King is still alive to this day I believe... anyway great haul. LOVE the hair!
