The issue some of the world has is that Russian and Chinese interests as represented through the Kremlin and Beijing are narrow, limited and restricted to single elites, not (within their own spheres of influence) competitive markets. Not only that, those two player sets (Beijing and Moscow) are single-use one-way entity players in the global marketplace representing way disproportionate interests for the populations they're assigned to claim representation (actually just naked power) over. Why? Because their systems of governance (separation of powers, relatively proportionate representation, judicial independence and the possibility of opportunity inside a balanced public-private set of freedoms) suck. Yes too, facets of Western systems suck too. Yet, fundamentally there is a greater scope for redemption when things go wrong and there is sufficient adaptability for adjustment if change needs to occur. China's approach is not based on a one man course correction system. The China governance system is much deeper than in the United States. In fact the majority of China's leaders are engineers. And China does not base its industrial policy on defense but on common prosperity. And finally China is providing its students with higher quality education especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
This notion of needing 'course-correction' every 10 years or so, via leadership renewal, is an occasionally valid, though mostly fallacious Western argument that definitely does not always apply; and need not apply in China's current situation with China's current CPC governance model. There are practical reasons why wisdom is so highly valued historically. Now that doesn't always apply - but we don't need to automatically dismiss or delegitimize a system for choosing to maintain a leader indefinitely - or even changing a system from one with term limits to one with none. There is, after all, nothing inherently incorrect with choosing a new course. I also suspect that the notion of requiring 'leadership renewal' on a timed-out, regulated basis is a means of ensuring electoral & political instability & insecurity with the end result being that no single individual or party group is ever able to translate knowledge & trust gained over time into practical wins for the people; leaving a large vacuum for unelected oligarchs to have their way with national economies & societal-direction.

The issue some of the world has is that Russian and Chinese interests as represented through the Kremlin and Beijing are narrow, limited and restricted to single elites, not (within their own spheres of influence) competitive markets.
Not only that, those two player sets (Beijing and Moscow) are single-use one-way entity players in the global marketplace representing way disproportionate interests for the populations they're assigned to claim representation (actually just naked power) over.
Why? Because their systems of governance (separation of powers, relatively proportionate representation, judicial independence and the possibility of opportunity inside a balanced public-private set of freedoms) suck.

China's approach is not based on a one man course correction system. The China governance system is much deeper than in the United States. In fact the majority of China's leaders are engineers. And China does not base its industrial policy on defense but on common prosperity. And finally China is providing its students with higher quality education especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
This notion of needing 'course-correction' every 10 years or so, via leadership renewal, is an occasionally valid, though mostly fallacious Western argument that definitely does not always apply; and need not apply in China's current situation with China's current CPC governance model.
There are practical reasons why wisdom is so highly valued historically.
Now that doesn't always apply - but we don't need to automatically dismiss or delegitimize a system for choosing to maintain a leader indefinitely - or even changing a system from one with term limits to one with none. There is, after all, nothing inherently incorrect with choosing a new course.
I also suspect that the notion of requiring 'leadership renewal' on a timed-out, regulated basis is a means of ensuring electoral & political instability & insecurity with the end result being that no single individual or party group is ever able to translate knowledge & trust gained over time into practical wins for the people; leaving a large vacuum for unelected oligarchs to have their way with national economies & societal-direction.

China has been course correcting since Deng Xiao Ping took over. Just compare the policies and state of China between then and now. Arguably one can say the party never changes, but even here the leadership and their thinking within the CCP do change quite drastically. Whereas the US elections do not change anything. The three branches of the US government and their checks and balances do not appear to be working because ultimately the government who are the People’s representatives have now been co-opted by a very small group of oligarchs. The only course correcting that these oligarchs are interested in is only self interest.
