Honestly the main thing that killed ultimate team is DDA, shocked it wasn’t mentioned. It’s all tied into all these gameplay issues. If people weren’t giving up kickoff goals, 90 minute goals, or having their players run at 21 speed when they are up by 2 goals they wouldn’t park the bus and play all these boring tactics. All these “visual bugs” that have happened over the years of older cards stats being nerfed and the cpu difficulty changing from legendary to amateur in game aren’t visual, they are the hidden background mechanics at work. It’s what’s wrong with the gaming community. DDA and skill based matchmaking have killed online play due to corporate greed, they think these close games are more engaging and cause to consumer to spend more time and money in the game. It’s infuriating
You do understand that the clock stops at 45 and 90 and gives extra time so statistically there are way more goals in 45 and 90 minutes then any other minute of the game
My biggest problem is how greedy they’ve become. Back in Fifa 2014 Gold cards felt like Icons and were affordable now they rig the gameplay were you basically have to update your team every promo to keep up. Now they sell guaranteed Icons in the first month of the game for a quick buck

Anyone who thinks FUT is bad has never played Madden Ultimate Team. FUT is miles ahead and better in so many ways, it’s also easy to build a great team in FUT without spending a penny. The app is also good. MUT is the biggest cash grab ever, you can’t even put your non auctionable players in SBCs (sets). They have sucked all fun out of it.
Yes the pool is smaller, but that doesn’t mean the mode has to be. It used to be really enjoyable and fun. They have sucked everything out of it. For example, they now have BND players. These players not only cannot be sold but you can’t put them in sets (SBCs) either. They quicksell for virtually nothing. There are so many examples I could give.
FIFA 10, 11, 12, 13, 15 and 17 were the best FIFA's. UA-camrs ruined it, coin sellers ruined it, weekend league ruined it and the endless new cards everyday ruined it. I remember winning division 1 with a Brasilver team. Those were the days.
fifa really shifted when they changed the game engine. it was a fun arcadey game that ultimately fell victim to EA wanting to dual use the battlefield game engine. it sucked all the fun out of the gameplay with how real it was trying to be. now it's menu grinding and gambling.
I still remember the original TV advert for FUT. They showed how I can put kaka, rooney and any of my favorite players in one team. That's all I ever wanted.
Pretty soon the transfer market wont exist and every card will be untradeable. We are pretty much there rn. I think i have 2 tradeable players in my starting 11.
The golden age of UT was fifa 10-14. It was a wild west. Nobody knew what they were doing. EA threw content at the game to see what would stick. Gaming wasnt "mainstream" yet so the casuals hadnt taken over as the main demographic for EA yet properly. Bronze players meant something(lee trubdle as an example), silver players meant something, ( brasilvers. OG neymar ect) special cards were special and seeing a team with multiple you knew the guy had put hours into the game.
I dont think theres a way to take back the amount of promos they've done, I remember how people mocked the silver week back in 22/23, and even that had some objective content... promos arent bad theres just a lack of casual options and a large emphasis placed on store packs
I personally think the number of promos is not the problem, for me the problem is the promo packs in the store and the weekend league + rewards system, if the old system came back it would be better
I stopped playing in February, been playing since 06. This is the first time i didn’t even bothering to pre order it. Gameplay was so terrible on my username, it felt i was moving trucks in mud and getting pissed off because of EA not fixing the game. Every other game connection was perfect. They destroyed it completely.
Ea has been killing the franchise slowly but surely for years already. The fact that FUT players are only now realising how trash the franchise has become is mind boggling to me. But hey i guess thats what you get for throwing money and supporting the online gamble machine for so long
For me personally the game died when they made so many special cards. When there are new special cards everyday none of them feel special. I prefer when you had TOTW, TOTY, TOTS and Icons. I would also keep POTM and Heroes but bin basically everything off and make special cards feel special again
Playing with Ibarbo, Doumbia...etc...got SO BORING after hundreds of games. If you weren't pay to win, you had virtually no way to upgrade your team. The way the power curve is always evolving is actually good for the game. Obviously, EA are scumbags and the way they run the shit is abominable, but the game is more fun now than it was when we were kids. The nostalgia blinds us. Also, I don't buy the "too many promos" sentiment. If there isn't a constant stream of new content, everyone complains and/or doesn't log on.

Man I spent hours in that Asain theme arena with Ronaldinho. What a time I also stand by this, I think trading should come back and would greatly improve the game. People who be much more inclined if you could wager cards against friends or even a cup where you wager against random opponents

The funny thing about this 14:40 "Realistic thing" is it's ONLY Ultimate Team people that hates it. Y'all need to remember FC also has a Career Mode WE WANT realism. I'm btw not saying the game is perfect for us either but it's NOT as bad as you ONLY Ultimate Team players says it is. I'd much rather have EA focus on making the menus and such better in Career Mode FOR NOW before they fix some of the other stuff. Lol what realism? The old gen (PS4 and xbox one) you can constantly lift the ball up and score scissor kicks and bicycle kicks (flick the ball up using any skill move u want or even trickster). That's realistic? Flick up powershot volleys can be scored from long range so easily, is that realistic for you? Or finesse shots which are so broken (finesse+ playstyle+) is that realistic for you? Don't come at ultimate team players for exposing how bad this game is just because you play your career mode with weird custom sliders and say everything is good. Try playing on legendary (since ultimate difficulty is only on squad battles in ultimate team I guess) and ur sliders on default and see how the CPU ai cooks you. Realistic game, lol such a delusional kid.
The problem is they are not fixing anything mate? and sorry to tell you but EA did not add realistic features to make the career mode bots happy, it was to simply make the game slower/easier for the lower skilled players to compete against the higher skilled players. Do like me and don't play the game until TOTS or PTG season. By that time they normally give the game for free or at a discount and the grind is actually worth it imo

As someone who hasnt played fifa since 2019, great choice. I havent missed it even a little bit, have saved money on not buying packs and whatnot, and honestly stress free from not slaving through champs. The game isnt meant for people like us who enjoyed the older games anymore.
Like the guy who made this video, I have played fifa for many years, and it will always give me great memories. However ultimate team has become both sweaty and annoying in most aspects. To top it all off, I was market banned last week for coin distribution. I have never once been involved in this. EA refuse to offer up an example of this on my account despite an appeal. EA have a 1 star rating on trust pilot and only because 1 is the lowest. It's so sad to see this franchise and company fall off a cliff for paying customers.
If anyone thinks that buying coins off websites is not linked to eaids I have a bridge to sell you They know EVERY single coin on the game so you ain't getting them from a 3rd party without eaids being involved is impossible
FIFA 12 was my first ever ultimate team I would spend hours playing with the default team ultimate team gives you when you start out and would just delete the club once contracts ran out as I was only ten and did not understand what to do in ultimate team, I still have the best memories from playing fifa 12 ultimate team as I was learning all these different things about players totw transfer market how to do contracts and player fitness it was amazing I used to get beat heavily by older opponents and would spit my dummy out quite often with it and my dad would ridicule me, this was all over once fifa 13 came out and I was a bit smarter and grown up, the fun I had on fifa 13 was unbelievable tried to be a youtuber played friends all the time tried to win division 1 played bronze and silver cups it was just the fucking best fifa 12 and 13 ultimate team, I feel so old but also sad it will never be again
Sitting all day unpacking 84*10 to unpack 85*10 to unpack 93+ and get something to play with and catch up with nerds who has 1 thing to do in life or mommy wallets…Soooo fun! UT became 100% for teens actually. No respect for older people, who has job and family to care about and just want to buy game and have fun in UT, and not lose every game because they don’t have meta. This is why I stopped buying FIFA, and download it from game pass in the end of the season. Play couple of month and quit for the rest 10. I've switched to college football ultimate team and man I can say the system is so much better. I don't feel like I am getting shafted by untradable cards because there really isn't that many. If you buy $300 worth of packs you'll have a 6 mill team where as on fifa you'd have to spend $5,000. Neither are great but you are really getting drug across the coals in fifa. It is really the worst system on earth. Please do not pre order FC25 make them feel it and wait till black Friday if your going to buy it.

The way EA implemented those skills like trivela+, anticipate+ etc...they should have given every player those skills but will rank low or higher depending on the player. If they were going for realism then every player should have those skills. Another thing that should be in their skull is that its a game let the players decide how fast and how slow the game should be for them.
In fifas beforehand it was money loaded onto your PlayStation account for PlayStation and Microsoft points for Xbox players. I miss the days of loading a £20 Microsoft point card for my birthday and packing Toty kompany in fifa 12. Nowadays I pack a team of the tournament mbappe without the slightest smile. At this point the only saving grace of Ultimate Team is playing in the summer where they give everyone loads of Super Packs like 85x10 SBCs, so anybody can get top players for free after enough time. Beyond that, the game mode has gotten more pay to win and toxic than ever.
I dont understand why EA dont do 1 Promo per month, not even that and focus more on Team of the week as "promo" cards. Would actually make Toty and Tots more enjoyable

MUT has one league of players to draw from. Obviously it is going to suck compared to an international sport.

I still remember the original TV advert for FUT. They showed how I can put kaka, rooney and any of my favorite players in one team. That's all I ever wanted.
Pretty soon the transfer market wont exist and every card will be untradeable. We are pretty much there rn. I think i have 2 tradeable players in my starting 11.
Ive said this everyday, fifa as the game we loved died gameplay wise since they introduced tactics in fifa 17, it is just not fun since then.
The golden age of UT was fifa 10-14. It was a wild west. Nobody knew what they were doing. EA threw content at the game to see what would stick.
Gaming wasnt "mainstream" yet so the casuals hadnt taken over as the main demographic for EA yet properly.
Bronze players meant something(lee trubdle as an example), silver players meant something, ( brasilvers. OG neymar ect) special cards were special and seeing a team with multiple you knew the guy had put hours into the game.
Imagine EA Put Survey to ask what is the best fifa and they remaster it, brought it back
I remember working in my first ever job and getting paid Weekly. I bought coins and bought TOTY Lahm and being so happy.
I dont think theres a way to take back the amount of promos they've done, I remember how people mocked the silver week back in 22/23, and even that had some objective content... promos arent bad theres just a lack of casual options and a large emphasis placed on store packs
I personally think the number of promos is not the problem, for me the problem is the promo packs in the store and the weekend league + rewards system, if the old system came back it would be better

I stopped playing in February, been playing since 06. This is the first time i didn’t even bothering to pre order it. Gameplay was so terrible on my username, it felt i was moving trucks in mud and getting pissed off because of EA not fixing the game. Every other game connection was perfect. They destroyed it completely.
The graphics and the shadows on that FIFA 11 clip looked like fifa 30 or something, graphics somehow look better then they do now
Ea has been killing the franchise slowly but surely for years already. The fact that FUT players are only now realising how trash the franchise has become is mind boggling to me. But hey i guess thats what you get for throwing money and supporting the online gamble machine for so long
For me personally the game died when they made so many special cards. When there are new special cards everyday none of them feel special. I prefer when you had TOTW, TOTY, TOTS and Icons. I would also keep POTM and Heroes but bin basically everything off and make special cards feel special again

Playing with Ibarbo, Doumbia...etc...got SO BORING after hundreds of games. If you weren't pay to win, you had virtually no way to upgrade your team. The way the power curve is always evolving is actually good for the game.
Obviously, EA are scumbags and the way they run the shit is abominable, but the game is more fun now than it was when we were kids. The nostalgia blinds us.
Also, I don't buy the "too many promos" sentiment. If there isn't a constant stream of new content, everyone complains and/or doesn't log on.
ye too many promos is wild statement, while i can say they increase power curve too much, but then if there is no promo for 2 weeks 90% of the community cries and says its boring af lmao.

@yegfuf the gameplay was super basic and very same-ey. There were no objectives and a lack of game modes. You had online seasons and that was it. If you think the gameplay was godlike in the day, and that kept people playing all summer, you're sadly mistaken, lol. Is that how you think it was??? The guy that made the video wasn't even making that point, besides one line where he called the gameplay "arcadey."

Dude, the game has always had its issues, people just bitch about it constantly these days because content creators have convinced them that it wasn't always that way. It was a casual game then. No UT Champs, less reason to rage over gameplay.

I’m a div 1 player but chose to stay in div 3 so when I do play which isn’t every day it won’t be a sweat fest and I can actually enjoy the game
EA have lost me after FIFA 22 and they are doing nothing to get me back on the game. Sad to see that all they care about is money.
You can tell EA has its priorities screwed up when fc25 comes out in a month and they’re still dropping new $60 packs into fc24 daily 😂. Meanwhile we just went an entire year without goal pyrotechnics because they can’t figure out why it’s crashing games 😂

I'm btw not saying the game is perfect for us either but it's NOT as bad as you ONLY Ultimate Team players says it is.
I'd much rather have EA focus on making the menus and such better in Career Mode FOR NOW before they fix some of the other stuff.
Like Career Mode menus just randomly crashing making me have to start from an autosave that's not even guaranteed to be close to the same date it could easily be 2 weeks before(in game) so I have to play games again I've already played...
Lol what realism? The old gen (PS4 and xbox one) you can constantly lift the ball up and score scissor kicks and bicycle kicks (flick the ball up using any skill move u want or even trickster). That's realistic? Flick up powershot volleys can be scored from long range so easily, is that realistic for you? Or finesse shots which are so broken (finesse+ playstyle+) is that realistic for you?
Don't come at ultimate team players for exposing how bad this game is just because you play your career mode with weird custom sliders and say everything is good. Try playing on legendary (since ultimate difficulty is only on squad battles in ultimate team I guess) and ur sliders on default and see how the CPU ai cooks you.

The problem is they are not fixing anything mate? and sorry to tell you but EA did not add realistic features to make the career mode bots happy, it was to simply make the game slower/easier for the lower skilled players to compete against the higher skilled players. Also I was a huge offline kickoff player too along with my homies, we all hate the amount of so called realism
UT players don’t like realism because they don’t like real football. Which is why they all love bulls*it like shapeshifter cards that are completely stupid & players getting 90 rated card based on absolutely nothing to do with real life football. UT has been bad for like 10 years now, career mode way better
I was not able to play for whole year, but today's state of game is catastrophic, i can't even finish my games, just ragequiting after first half.
Do like me and don't play the game until TOTS or PTG season. By that time they normally give the game for free or at a discount and the grind is actually worth it imo
Treyarch Zombies returns this year with bo6 so I will be skipping a FIFA for the first time since 19. EAFC just soured me on the franchise too much

As someone who hasnt played fifa since 2019, great choice. I havent missed it even a little bit, have saved money on not buying packs and whatnot, and honestly stress free from not slaving through champs. The game isnt meant for people like us who enjoyed the older games anymore.
Like the guy who made this video, I have played fifa for many years, and it will always give me great memories. However ultimate team has become both sweaty and annoying in most aspects. To top it all off, I was market banned last week for coin distribution. I have never once been involved in this. EA refuse to offer up an example of this on my account despite an appeal. EA have a 1 star rating on trust pilot and only because 1 is the lowest. It's so sad to see this franchise and company fall off a cliff for paying customers.

FIFA 12 was my first ever ultimate team I would spend hours playing with the default team ultimate team gives you when you start out and would just delete the club once contracts ran out as I was only ten and did not understand what to do in ultimate team, I still have the best memories from playing fifa 12 ultimate team as I was learning all these different things about players totw transfer market how to do contracts and player fitness it was amazing I used to get beat heavily by older opponents and would spit my dummy out quite often with it and my dad would ridicule me, this was all over once fifa 13 came out and I was a bit smarter and grown up, the fun I had on fifa 13 was unbelievable tried to be a youtuber played friends all the time tried to win division 1 played bronze and silver cups it was just the fucking best fifa 12 and 13 ultimate team, I feel so old but also sad it will never be again

Sitting all day unpacking 84*10 to unpack 85*10 to unpack 93+ and get something to play with and catch up with nerds who has 1 thing to do in life or mommy wallets…Soooo fun!
UT became 100% for teens actually. No respect for older people, who has job and family to care about and just want to buy game and have fun in UT, and not lose every game because they don’t have meta.
This is why I stopped buying FIFA, and download it from game pass in the end of the season. Play couple of month and quit for the rest 10.

I've switched to college football ultimate team and man I can say the system is so much better. I don't feel like I am getting shafted by untradable cards because there really isn't that many. If you buy $300 worth of packs you'll have a 6 mill team where as on fifa you'd have to spend $5,000. Neither are great but you are really getting drug across the coals in fifa. It is really the worst system on earth. Please do not pre order FC25 make them feel it and wait till black Friday if your going to buy it.

The way EA implemented those skills like trivela+, anticipate+ etc...they should have given every player those skills but will rank low or higher depending on the player. If they were going for realism then every player should have those skills.
Another thing that should be in their skull is that its a game let the players decide how fast and how slow the game should be for them.
Every player I match these days in FUT champs has a 98 or 99 rated squad. FUT champs gameplay last weekend was so shitty

I miss the days of loading a £20 Microsoft point card for my birthday and packing Toty kompany in fifa 12. Nowadays I pack a team of the tournament mbappe without the slightest smile. Ahhhh the gamblers spiral
At this point the only saving grace of Ultimate Team is playing in the summer where they give everyone loads of Super Packs like 85x10 SBCs, so anybody can get top players for free after enough time. Beyond that, the game mode has gotten more pay to win and toxic than ever.
