Hey, I'm a massive fan of Black Library audiobooks and it's always wound me up that all this lore is buried in campaign books that are no longer produced, especially considering how much it impacts the current setting. Fortunately I have found his video in which you do an absolutely flawless job bringing it to life. Can't wait to start #2!
I don't mind The Fall of Cadia but man did this deserve to be spread across a few books to really give certain parts of the story room to breathe

Listening for the 5th or 6th time and just noticed a particularly good turn of phrase IMHO at about 1:44:00 "...forged new mettle from despair." Love the double meaning...and the great narration always keeps me coming back!

Man Abbadon's 13th black crusade was bigger than Archaon's storm of Chaos, and the end times in my opinion, also it seems that Abbadon have many amounts of troops during the black crusade.

There really shouldnt be that many eldar left but there are always enough to suit the plot. Same with CSM.

When I was a little kid my Aunt had tape cassettes of the age of Radio dramas. I would while away my days when my Mom was over their listening to recordings of the Shadow and Little Orphan Annie. Those drama's would paint a picture in my mind that would have me enthralled. When I listen to your retelling of the Fall of Cadia I am brought back to those days. Thanks I really enjoyed listening.
I'm only 6 minutes in to my first video from this guy and I love it. I feel immersed by how he tells the story. Literally feels like a wizened preacher or cadian survivor is telling a epic story.
While i love your work on this one. I'm gonna gave to agree with arch warhammer on this one. The seige of Cadia should have been an omnibus event. Like the seige of Vraks, i would have love yo have read about every last detail of this monumental effort.

Great reading. Generally, a good book but some interesting characters seem to have been introduced and forgotten (ancient ultramarines, a custodian, etc.) and the Ark Mechanicus was really nerfed, never utilizing its AI or Golden Age equipment.
When people go to recover the Will of Eternity, it would be great to find the survivors of Cadia hiding in bunkers designed for extended sieges, hunting any abandoned chaos invaders, and continuing to proclaim, "Cadia stands!".

Warhammer is probably the least friendly to new comers wanting to grasp the basics of it's lore due to the mind boggling amount of it there is. Having never played the games I myself am one of those newbys. I won't say I have even a good understanding of the lore yet, but I really love listening to these short stories in hopes I will soon. Such excellent narration makes them exciting enough that prior knowledge isn't necessary to enjoy them.
Lol, I can see Trazyn sitting there watching the battle eating robo-popcorn, "This is boring, Imma change it." and thows a single kernals worth of troop's into the battle and thinks he's done a good deed, but I'm sure he made copies so he's not actually out any information...gotta catch 'em all...

@@robertmartin8907 excessively embellished for sure if you know the actual history. Her martial experience was literally comprised of being present but never fighting in a single battle, and being shot with a bodkin while carrying a banner.
I'd say that's pretty lame next to Celestine. However, the transcripts Joan of Arc's trial are very impressive. Despite having nobody to help her and probably being schizophrenic or having some other mental illness, her clarity of rhetoric basically debated her way to innocence despite it being a rigged trial. Of course they executed her anyway. A real travesty considering everything she made possible for the king and the church in her time.
@@billl2903 It's not really embellished. She had tactical and strategic command of the entire armies of France, and she actually made decisions on multiple occasions (many of which her generals hated) that resulted in major and surprising victories.
Your voice-work has gotten better each video. You should consider selling your services to Black Library as your voice is certainly good for the ears.

Nah he's right. Some of the audio narrators for the audible books are cheese graters to the ears. Whoever narrated Rhogal Dorne as a whiney old man needs to be burned for heresy

I remember getting into the hobby just as the original 13th Black Crusade was the Big thing and now here we are, the crusade redone and with devastating effects and the galaxy on the brink, two sons of the Emperor returned and new gods on the rise while the Tyrannis advance on and the Silent King rules once more and the Orks have their prophet....and the Custodes get a Amazon pushed addition that was somehow silent for 10,000 years. Truly interesting times to be in the hobby.

Ive always wondered how the imperium couldn't somehow use a modified exterminatus bomb or 3 (not a virus bomb obvs) to deal with these incursions as soon as they poked their filthy heretical heads out of the warp
o they use mines and stuff and were fortified it was just such a massive invasion it absuorbed all the attacks
their fleets eclipsed the stars apparently
