Hey Keith, If you take a small piece of adhesive tape and stick it to the bottom side of the tab that holds your reel to the rod you can write the size (lb. test) and date that spooled up that reel. I have a lot of rods and reels that I use for different kinds of fishin' and this really helps.
Thank you for your DIY underwater light videos. They are AWESOME! And I built my own AWESOME fishing light with the drill battery pack and on off switch!!! I have always shied away from wiring and electrical but your video was so inspiring that I just went and did it. I have never soldered before so I had my doubts. I have to admit that I was shocked😅 when I hit the on switch and the light about blinded me and my husband who was sitting next to me on the couch watching fishing videos. He was so proud he sent a photo of my light to the whole family. He can’t wait to see which of your projects I will do next. The real project is gonna be talking him into getting me a drill press cause those sinker casting videos are AWESOME!!😂😂🤣🤣
Right here, is why you are the King of DIY’s ,🤴, but I really like the ladder in the neighbors pool…..I got to go !!!!!!!! LOL 😂. Take care, and Thank you for all you do my friend Keith 👍
Love You're enthusiasm it's great 1 thing I've found is found is the gloves are in fact a great idea if you can get him on your hands If your hands are oversized you'll never get him on but I but I love the idea I wish it would work for me. I really wanted it to work kind of handy to have if you've got car trouble too and you need to get underneath somewhere where where you can't see hopefully they'll come out with some bigger sizes. Thanks for sharing You're hard work.
Thanks for reminding me about the battery adapters I got busy and forgot about a project i was gonna build and video for the channel. Thanks for the link it saved me from searching.
Thank you sir, I go to tire shop and get lead weights for tires that are used, they're usually all over the ground or ask and sometimes they give them to you for free.
First time watching your video don’t know how i never seen you before but I had to say very handy fisherman.Amazing video me as a younger angler i actually learned something today ! Thanks !!
This guy is a GENIUS! Why didn't I think of putting the spool in a bucket of water? I told you, this guy is a genius! And those spool holders? Genius. OH, and the LED light pole? Genius. This guy is a genius. Liked, subbed, genius.
UA-cam is finally putting your videos back in my feed. If you know anybody that installs doors, ask them to save the big rubber bands that are used to protect the hinges during shipping. They have several uses, they fit around most bait casters and the larger open faced reels, if you run the small 12v (6x3x2) batteries they will fit those to insulate the terminals. Thanks for all the great info.
As usual, more great hacks. I don't know why i didn't think of them myself. They seem so simple when you put them out there for us.... Thanks for the info, and as all your videos are, always great.
I melt my lead into pellets by poring the molten lead into a bucket of water that way it melts faster and I can measure out how much I need more easily
That IS a freaking AWESOME idea!!!!! I LOOOOVE that light idea!! That would make for a muuuuuuuch better 360 light!!!! Thanks so much for your awesome tips!!
Right on. I've found that the best way to keep line on a spool is with a hair band. Thread the line through the hair band with a needle and put it on the spool. The band will secure the line on the spool, and you can pull/unwind the line off the spool without ever losing it.
You have got to me kidding me! A battery power connector mount can virtually replace me from hauling and lugging around my heavy marine battery to and from my boat after a day on the water?!?! Are you trying to tell me all I need is one, or maybe even two if feeling cute, of these adapters and I can run not only my fish-finder and bilge pump, but even charge my iPhone or other devices as well? Well, the jokes on me because it works!!! Wow! I wished I'd have stumbled across your videos months ago as I would've saved me a bundle of cash! Thank you so much brother for sharing these hacks and tips!
I saw these and thought what an awesome idea . Then made this video , only to find out alot ofthe bass guys where using them to run their deapth finders before I even knew lol .
Keith, those fishing hacks gave me some good ideas. Thanks for posting that video. I never considered that the colors on some of those expensive lures are to attract fishermen instead of fish. But I wanted to point out that a good source for lead is an old car battery that no longer works. Simply drain out the acid (be careful cause could cause serious injury - and be sure to dispose of properly), then just rinse the inside of the battery with a water hose to clean out the remaining acid. Once it's cleaned out, take a saws-all and cut off the plastic around the battery to expose the lead Inside of it. Inside the battery is lbs of lead that can be melted. My cousin showed me that trick. That's why car batteries are so dang heavy. Just wanted to point that out to your subscribers. Happy fishing y'all. P.S. Can you post a video that shows how to make your own fishing rod holder out of aluminum using those alum brazing rods, that automatically sets the hook when you get a bite. I think they are spring operated. I seen a homemade one before but have never seen a video on how to make one. Thanks Keith.
I paint em with a nail polish that looks like fish scales. They make a great popping cork to. Put on a middle hook and a dropper line off back. If fish hits float instead ya can still catch em.
Awesome man thanks for the game, gonna whip me one up and guide them to ur video when they asked me where I learn this snazzy trick in California!!! Thanks man 👍🏽👊🏾💪🏾
I have left them clear. I have had same results leaving clear or painted. I have noticed is that the ones I left clear no paint. Took on water. I had some clear coat spray left over and painted one with clear. That day I fished with one clear and one with the clear coat. The one with the clear coat did not take on water. Love your vids
Great video just a thought for the clear spooks I always just paint them with any color I have or you can dip them in acetone to seal them my first ones I just used them straight out of the pack and they leaked and rusted the rattlers in them
Killer video! I have the light gloves and they are as advertised. You won't be disappointed BUT, don't be like me and forget your wearing them and grab a fish out of the water! I've done it twice now and they still work😅😎
You know wat else works reel good(pun intended) are mommas hair tighs you know the 1s that look like thick rubberbands. Just put them on the roll of line and it holds it down pretty darn good if I say so my self. I do enjoy your tutorials keep em coming my good man!💯💯💯
The battery hack is something I started doing recently. I couldn't afford a battery for my fish finder so I wired it up to my drill battery. It worked out better then expected. Though having a adapter would make it easier then clipping on the pins. Lol
About 30 years ago I bought my dad an electric melting pot, a bunch of Do-It molds and gave him some small and medium muffin pans. The muffin ingots were just the right size to drop into the melting pot for making sinkers and jig heads.
I ruined 2 18 volt Ridgid lithium ion batteries by using them to power 12 volt lights (for frogging, 1 battery for 1 light). They would never charge after that.
This is my absolute favorite channel brother... I try & use some of the hacks you got goin' er! They work (when I do it right) lol So thanks a bucket full & keep up the good work
I really need some help on hookin' into these Washington Cats! I'm up here in Vancouver Washington.. I've got the Columbia river a couple blocks down the street and all sorts of lakes & sloughs but I can't hook up for the life of me! I've tried every bait on the innerweb! So whatcha got my friend!? Lol
Take an upholstery style or some other heavy duty needle and large hair ties. Get the ties just big enough you need to stretch over your spool. Thread the line through the needle and run the needle through the hair tie. Always leave about 2" sticking out just in case but there should be plenty of friction (but not too much) to hold the line in place. Pull the tag end to use and the hair tie will slide around the spool as line is fed out. I've used this on as little as 2lbs test and as long as the tie is not too tight, it should work.
Hey Keith, If you take a small piece of adhesive tape and stick it to the bottom side of the tab that holds your reel to the rod you can write the size (lb. test) and date that spooled up that reel. I have a lot of rods and reels that I use for different kinds of fishin' and this really helps.
Thanks, that's probably the only tip I'll actually use here!
Lol
That's a good idea man
I use my label maker to do that
@@BobBohner4851 you stole my idea lol . I thought of that too lol

Very cool for the aluminum fix!
Another great video. I will definitely be trying out the battery idea. Maybe for a black light for surf fishing at night.

That glove light would come in handy when working in dark places when a regular light gets in the way. Like in an attic working on electrical lines
Number 4 is unbelievable! Thank you!
