Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, it's still a fun bike. I just need to watch out for the potholes and bumps more when riding the S40 vs the Ninja 400. 👍🤙
Hi there! Sorry, for responding so late. My channel is less active compared to when I first started on YT. Thanks for watching and posting. There are nice roads around here. I'll get out there and upload more vids when the weather gets better. Thanks & ride safe out there. :)
The reason I watch the S-40 vids is that I saw a 350 Meteor in my small town. Those are cheap brand new, but the S-40 is cheaper by about 50% used, 40lbs less, and they have more power. I ride a Suzuki C50 (I got it for $2,000, like new), but, with some rougher tires the S-40 might make a good 2nd bike.
Hi Pete. Thanks for watching and commenting! I totally agree with you! I was going to buy a new Meteor (specs are not very good) as my first bike and my friend warned me and said "Don't waste your money on one of those! Buy my old S40 for $1500!" Glad I took the advice. I spent my saved $$ on gear and the MSF course. The S40 was a good bike to learn on. Not having the best brakes (no ABS) also forces you to be more careful. I could better appreciate the enhancements of the Ninja 400 tech after learning on the S40.
@@petekraemer6613 Got it! :) I've only been riding about 2 years but my dad and uncle were in many races in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm off to a very late start, being in my late 50's! :)
I have bigger cc bikes but this is a perfect machine for around town. It’s light an nimble. Hop on something big and heavy and you will appreciate the small bike. I want to buy one.
Totally agree! It was perfect me as my first bike. It has that classic thumper look and, if you've never ridden before, will feel powerful because you have nothing to compare it too. It was great for me to learn on. I did try to sell it a couple of times but I still have it. My wife wants me to sell it but I'm leaning toward keeping it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry, for the late reply. :)
Hello and thanks for the comment. Yes, I still have it. I have it in my garage now. I kept it in the driveway under an orange tree for a couple of years and decided to save the bike from the abuse (falling oranges)! :)
@@BangForYourBuckRc I know. You're probably right! :) Again, sorry for the late reply. UA-cam isn't showing me all unread comments in threads on my channel. Maybe, it's because it looks like you were replying to @craigpate4140 in the thread he started? Not sure.
Wonder how it performs with the extra weight? They might enjoy the vibrations though. "Doodle on a motorcycle" (channel) enjoyed it as her first bike. 😂😂
Your s40 sound GREAT!
Thanks!
Beautiful scenic ride! Thanks for uploading!
You bet! Thanks, for watching!
What is that exhaust? Sounds really good.
Yea men , mine destroys my back on potholes, but I still like it , nice ride through country side where ever that is , love the vid !

I'm gonna get one this year for commuting to college
You should get a good deal on one. Good for local commutes.
keep it
I just got some electrical issues fixed (wiring for headlight, front turn signals, and horn). I still like the look sound sound of this bike. :)
hell yea I give you$1500 I paid $2000 for the same bike and it doesn’t sound like that , but I don’t regret it it’s a fun bike man
Hope you kept it

Your bike sounds great ! What are you running for a pipe?
My friend and his cousin "made it". :)
i wish folks who post these nice vids would also give the locations... where is this? :D
South San Fran Bay Area. San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Santa Cruz, Highway 9, Skyline Blvd, are areas I ride generally.
@@williewasahippie oh thanks, I thought it might be somewhere in the Northeast 😀
What jets were in that bike?
Not sure. Bought it used off a buddy. Thanks, for watching. :)
Your bike sounds great, what muffler are you using? Mine is sock for now. I want it louder but I don’t want a straight pipe. I like my hearing.
Hi Craig. My friend and his cousin actually made the pipe out of some metal they had, believe it or not!
Meant to ask, what state you are in or riding in this video?
Definitely keep this. You’ll regret it it if you don’t!
@@BangForYourBuckRc Sorry, I missed this! I don't get notifications for all unread comments for some reason. Caifornia is my state. South Bay Area.

Selllll it!!!!!!
I chatted to 2 gay lads touring on a Savage - they seemed to like it and reckoned it had enough power
