I thank you for being the only person to answer my question of why not just replace the chain. But the problem with your video is that 99.9% of Suzuki Savage owners are NOT welders nor machine shop techs. So if your not going to show us how to replace the chain and guides then why don't YOU offer a service where customers could send in their old tensioner and you add on the necessary piece? I would think that folks would be willing to pay even $ 100 to avoid buying a $ 70 or $80 new chain unnecessarily and the cost would pay for itself as you say because the chain is good for many more miles. If the chain stretches out in only 10,000 or 15,000 miles then how many chains would you be saved from buying by buying a new extended extension? I'd still like to see a video about removing and replacing the chain. For some reason , NO ONE has decided to make such a video.
The amount of time it should take for the tensioner to reach it's limit should be at least 50k miles. If you keep fresh oil in it, it definitely shouldn't stretch enough to have to worry about the tensioner maxing out. Cam chains aren't pulling a load like a drive chain.
Awesome video sir, I have a question I hope you can help me out, did you know how big is the spring of the tensioner mine fall and can't find the other part because I just find about 1 inch and a half
That would be the best option, get a replacement gasket, remove the side cover and switch to the other drilled hole, that’ll give you an opportunity to check the health of your cam chain & guides (since that seems to be the only engine related issue these things have)
I was just about to comment why not cut that original hole right out of the picture and make a neater extension with just a single hole ...cool mod' tho'.. Kjay.
I did the same to mine, thanks for the upload! Cheers from Germany 👍
Bro please keep going with the savage, no one else is
Great video. Very easy to understand. I'm definitely doing this to mine. Thanks
This is very well explained and great mod! Thank you!
Great video. Thanks man.

Do you know if this extended tensioner part can be purchased outright?

There's a lot of "should this or should that" people have had failures at under 5k miles even with oil changes and easy riding

Lovely❤❤❤
Thank You!
So when you have a new cam chain do you have to use the first hole and swap it to the other about 50% through the life of the chain
That would be the best option, get a replacement gasket, remove the side cover and switch to the other drilled hole, that’ll give you an opportunity to check the health of your cam chain & guides (since that seems to be the only engine related issue these things have)
