Thanks! Between 1988 & 2005 had not 1 but 2 Savages which was the first name of the current Boulevard 40. They came with a small backrest that my wife loved together with its small seats height (700 mm / 27.6 in)... I like your RPM tachometer which I didn't have. I sold the last one in 2005 to buy another single cylinder 650, the BMW Scarver with Rotax engine which I kept 'till 2018 😍😍😍
This is the perfect bike, if you live in Orlando, and want to commute to work, and run to the beach on the weekends. It's fun in a VW Beetle/Miata sort of way, they handle amazingly well, are very light, and from stop light to stop light, only sport bikes will beat them.
it's one of the most under stressed engines there is, the potential for power for this bike is pretty crazy if you look into it. Only owner neglect will hurt this engine, lol.
I love your style and the way you tell about the bike. Just honest down to earth description. We have very similar ridng habits, safe and respectful. Thank you Sir for a very nice video. Enjoy your riding be safe and & God bless always!
I have a 2017 S40 and I weigh 230 and this bike moves no problem . I have had 2 Hayabusa's 1300 and a number of other street bikes , and I have to say im having more fun on this bike !
I had one of these Suzukis and also a 1300cc Honda vtx. I was low on money so I sold the Suzi. I love my 1300 Honda but now I regret selling the Suzuki. Why? Cause gas has gotten high and also I am getting old (64) and sometimes I just want something light to zip around town on. Riding my 700 pound 1300 around town is not really that fun sometimes.
barely any drop in rpm from 4th to 5th, that's the most annoying thing on this bike imo. longer gear would helped tremendously! Also, might want to consider a wind screen, just a small clear one, obviously they look meaner without, but I'm telling you man, it changes everything about how fun it is to ride, plus you'd get rid of most of that wind noise while recording....cannopt believe you got that for $750! :D that's incredible.
Great vid. You should get the delkevic 21 inch muffler. It will change the bike dramatically! What products do you recommend to clean/shine the bike and the spokes?
Both my girlfriend and I have the Delkevic long muffler on our S40s and wow! They sound fantastic on the accel and decel. Recommend you do re-jet after fitting.
I converted mine into a cafe racer. Much lighter without the rear fender, stock exhaust and compression release solenoid. Very loud with a small silencer, though.
I have the same Savage 650 1998 since 2002... 185 thousand kilometers through Brazil and the south of South America...
Thanks for the ride along. Well done. Blessings

What brand is the rev counter you have mounted and where is it connected to the bike?
You never put a link for the floor broads ??
