I can see that Adobe took a lot of inspiration from Valve's VR interface when creating Modeler. I think it is a good way to do it. Now they need to improve their toolset and QoL.
ive been messing around with the desktop version and im impressed. im able to make some pretty cool shapes fast with these simple tools by adding and subtracting and space bar dragging its very surprising. even the warp tools which take some getting used to are very powerful and easy to use. they really are doing alot on ease of use which i like. traditional 3d is very painful for most people and i say that as a long time vet 3d artist. i can see this speeding the adoption of vr for more artists as they can dip their toes into this with desktop then try vr later when they think it will be interesting to do so. great vid. please do vids on how to make cool stuff with this...ill be watching.
VR is the most natural, and future way of designing in 3D, and it's good that big companies like Adobe actually see that. No mouse, no pen can give you feeling as natural as sculpting in VR.
I was just thinking about how great it would be able to screen record in third person. Try doing a rimelape first person, speed it up and it can be quite sickening to watch. Multiple camera viewpoints would be great on top of that. Quite a bit different but bear saber has a mod which allows for this, you can just place as many cameras as you'd like in the scene and move them wherever. Map the. To wherever you'd like on your desktop.
I know...that is usually the case. but the team on modeler is small and exited about what they are doing, 2 of them actually messaged me about this video and they seem to be really trying to get it to the next level. I can't wait.
Because they have little experience with 3d...and they didn't even develop this from scratch, it started out as Medium. I haven't played much with shapelab/kodon/gravitysketch etc, but I doubt this is the worst..it's just not very feature rich yet.
as far as vr sculpting this is the most promising one I have tried, that been said I haven't tried Kodon yet, that is next on my list. but when you compare to actual desktop sculpting you are right, there is no comparison.

And i find a lot easier to get n the flow too, deep focus comes quick when you are immersed
I enjoyed your video , I mainly miss the dam-standard brush personally , or a good surface sculpt brush instead of adding tubes
for sure, you can kind of fake the dam standard, but overall the surface sculpt feeling is not there, totally agree
Kodon has pinch brush, but that app crashes/breaks geometry a lot :(
I just found out about kodon this week, I will give it a shot, looks pretty awesome from what I see

wow, multiple angles would be amazing!
celsão já tá mais no VR do que na RL
I think it's wishful thinking to hope that Adobe will give a shit about user requests...have they ever?

How can a company that has one of the best painting tools develop the worst 3d sculpting tools ...
