I’m in the same situation. I’m still using my old ZBrush 2022 and would never pay Maxon 450 bucks for an update. Nomad is really great software on the iPad. If they ever release a PC/Mac version, I’d jump on board immediately.
that's game changed, thanks!
Hi, What version of Modeler is that? Thanks.
I use the open beta. I usually update once a month
Also if you hit bd damn standard is there. now… at least on my version… run updates…
Sweet. Thank you for the heads up
remember its a business. and if maxon didn’t “rescue” pixologic… we wouldn’t have zbrush…or zbrush for ipad… i don’t blame companies for wanting to make some money.. and also.. younger folks need to get a clue about how an economy actually works… guess not enough kids got sued for napster and such.. back in the day… shit isn’t free…developers need to eat too!
14:25 poor guy, you should make his... thumb... bigger.
Funny that you mentioned this. I just fixed that the other day hahaha
@@celsofx lol nice!
I´ve been using zbrush for 20 years now. I still prefer nomad over it. Tools overall are just more intuitive and easy to use. Hopefully we get nomad on the desktop soon as well
Wow, CRAZY that this denoisinh thing could cause this problem. Thanks for the solution.
Yeah, it was driving me crazy hehe.
💜💜💜
I feel your pain. The fact that it’s been this long and there have been essentially no game changers from ZBrush says a lot. That last “update” they streamed with all of the Redshift stuff was a joke. Couldn’t care less about fancy rendering. The workaround I’ve found for making the iPad ZB files useable in ZB22 is to export as an OBJ, bring the model in and do autogrouping and then separate the groups. It’s not perfect but it’s been working for me.
If you don’t have Maxon subscription, there doesn’t seem to be a need to buy ZBrush for iPad. Nomad is an excellent app and MUCH less expensive.
Awesome thanks ill remeber this step when im creating my own textures
Me too haha. That been said I will probably forget, and only remember when i see the line there again
instant sub, thanks for sharing all of this great information!
Thanks man, lets keep pushing those points 😃
Really great video and project my friend! btw love the techniques you have been sharing. I will make sure to follow it !!
Jatobex!!! Love to see you here brother.
please make a video comparing both apps peformances with high polys models , BTW what is the size of your tablet ?
I can definitely do that, 12.5 ipad, and on the pc a 19 inch huion
So cool, man. You're a man of many talents!
Being mediocre on lots of things is a skill 😌
i believe that the only viable way to use the zbrush for ipad would be to use it exclusively without the PC version , othewise you would need th pay the expensive full verson subscription
100% . But professionally it becames really hard to do it, and that is the main reason I am choosing nomad sculpt for now
I love the ipadZbrush its getting better and better with updates. Yeas Nomad is cheaper but, we all almoust paying ,more for such uselles crap like Netflix
A lot of what you are hitting ZBrush for is it's UI, which, granted, is a mess. 10 pound a month isn't a lot of money when you compare it to what people on desktops are paying for this stuff. Having said that, Nomad looks great and the interface is actually designed by people who have to use it rather than programmers. Happy to see it's not just iPad, but is available for Android tablets as well.
Yeah, depends on what we are comparing it too. 20 life time is a lot cheaper than 10 a month, but 10 a month is not too bad when comparing to 700 a year, my biggest concern is that i stillbuse zbrush for desktop 2022, before the subscription started. To open the zb for ipad files on pc is only possible if you have the latest zb, and that is the most appealing feature bof the zb for ipad. So for me, zb for ipad would only make sence if i paid 700 a year 😔
Wonderful and practical description. Thank you!
Hair tutorial that matches hand painting model would be cool
For this guy I tried 4 or 5 different hair techniques before I ended up choosing one. So I didn't really record as i was exploring too much. But i am working on another character for the same project, i will make sure to record the hair workflow this time

Beautiful work, thanks for the video 😄
Thank you! 😊
Incredible work! I really enjoyed watching your process!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for your video, I’m trying to find a workflow that works for me. In CAD I found it, but it’s different for sculpt for some reason.
To be honest even when inthink I found my workflow I keep experimenting and changing, its a good thing to keeps the interest and curiosity high hehehe
@ for sure about curiosity. I have been spoiled in the past with Wacom and iPad for art. Learning Blender without a tablet for sculpting is time consuming. I’m so done with Wacom, I just received x-pen I ordered, very excited about that. I hope it’s good, I really don’t want to give any more money to Wacom, they have bricked so many tablets and the fixes are through the community making drivers.
hotkey for color pick you need to press shift + x. ..... and while you hold these keys move around the object. Blender now performs many actions without confirmation just hold shift x and move around the object until you find right sample .
Sweet! I can now officially upgrade to 4.3 hehehe, thank you!
cool
Thank!
30:45 looks like he has one eye lol
to me disabling desnoise worked and I found it just googling (someone had asked it on a subreddit as I remember or blener community)
If you want to keep the denoising properties you should also just be able to increase the margin size of your bake. That will extend the bake past your uvs to fill the black space.
I tried it, all the way up to 64 pixels and still get the same line, but turning off the denoise fixes it right the way
@@celsofx OH DAMN! thats wild! imma keep this denoise trick in my back pocket then! haha <3
Why hello ma man!! I cant believe I got recommended one of your videos! AND SO MANY VIEWS!! such a good technique for speeding up the painting process, Steve and I abuse the crap about of this haha.
Richie boy!!! Thanks mate, looking forward to seeing you at the OZ crew day next month :)
Great stuff. I learned a bunch of new techniques. Thanks!
For the UV seam dark lines, it is because when you create a new image for the texture map backing, try selecting a fill color near to the skin color instead of black.
I tried that too, and I still get a single pixel line there, someone else pointed out that could be the denoiser. I tried and that solved! anyways, thanks for the input, it made a lot of sense to me, but the denoise off solved for me
ye... its a trap))
Love the tutorial. Would it be possible to show the process for the clothing. I know the same technique applies but I'd really love to see a video covering hand painting outfits.
For sure, I will record it when i get to painting my next character.
@@celsofx That'd be deeply appreciated. Thank you!
For quickly sampling your colour in 4.3, the hotkey is now Shift+X in texture paint mode. Btw I noticed that your viewport navigation is so smooth. It's like orbitting and panning at the same time, and it feels fluid, can't explain but I believe it's not vanilla Blender's function. Are you using any addon for that?
Thank you so much. Officially upgrading to 4.3 now hahaha. For the navigation, I am using a 3d connexion space mouse. Takes some getting used to it and is a bit expensive. But moving the navigation to my opposite hand speeds things up and lets me get into the flow a bit faster when sculpting and painting as i dont need to alternate between painting and moving.
@@celsofx Thank you so much! I'll check it out. Btw keep up the good work!
Thank you man, I appreciate you. This was fantastic
I appreciate you too! Taking the time to leave a nice comment. 😊
Great contribution, great tutorial. You have my like. Thank you very much.
Thank you!
learned a lot thank youu
You are welcome, thanks for stopping by 😆
You are quite literally saving so many people hours of headache and entire courses full of longwinded explanations with this one, I'm honestly stunned with how simply you were able to explain your workflow. Thank you so much and this will legit be a video I loop to wrap ...my head ..around. Pun originally not intended
Thank you Nicole, this means a lot, I am trying to find a good format for my videos and you saying what you liked about this one is helping me make the next one better 😁
I think if nomad would get sth simmilar to z spheres, zbrush for Ipad would be even more irrelevant lol.
Luckily I had already moved away from zspheres so I don't really miss it, but it wold be cool to see nomad's version of it
I think right now it's better to use 3rd party soft for baking and hand painting. Do you use one?
I use substance for client work. but i sign up fr it only as needed. I am trying to keep it on the cheap side for personal projects. And i do like painting in blender a bit more to be honest
For the uv seams you can disable denoise for the render and that should fix the issue, theres also a layers addon for blender called UCUpaint i think
Thank you so much, I will try turning off the denoise, it makes perfect sense! as for the addon, I do have it but I find myself not using it that much, I kinda prefer painting it in a single layer for most part, and creating layers manually when I need
this solved for me, I pinned your comment in case someone else is looking for the answer here, thank you again !
Fucking amazing, for real i am speechless. Are you brazilian by any chance? Your work, the workflow and all, incredible, amazing, its insane you don't have more subscribers.
I am Brazilian :) , thank you so much, you are making me blush over here hahaha 🤣.
Awesome as always. Learning a lot from these vids, man.
Thanks Mate :)
Totally agree. In terms of pbr presentation and texturing Nomad is even better
Nomad is being released on PC soon though. Hopefully at the beginning of 2025.
I had no idea, that is great news
@celsofx yes Stephane the developer often posts updates on the Nomad Discord and Forum. I believe it may also be for Mac too 👍
@@brooke1639 nice. I am going to join the discord to keep up to date too
Woah this is huge
Comecei a modelar no nomad a pouco tempo e estou apaixonado. Sua técnica é excelente, vou tentar aplicar nas minhas criações, obrigado pelos ensinamentos!
É nois! Quando tiver algo pronto manda ai
Nomad Sculpt is very much underpriced to be honest.
🤫, they may hear you hahaha
