    I'm impressed! I'm so ready for tool changing being part of 3D printers! I don't like the limitations of 1 nozzle color changes.

    Nicely done, one small recommendation, adding some inrush protectors before the plugs would be a good idea now. (in the distribution board)
    plugging and unplugging them frequently will ablate the contacts.

    Great tool-changer, got a quick question, does the dock move up and down following the grantry z axis?

    Do I understand correctly that this is the key feature that differs MissChanger from StealthChanger? Or is there more?

    • @vinny5915
      @vinny5915  6 місяців тому

      The tap and toolchange mechism is also different. Unlike SC, MC retains the MGN9 rail, for probe accuracy.

      What’s the difference between input shaper results? I understand stealthchanger has better IS results than the printed tap

      @efboiz5302 I have published the input shaper results on GitHub. I don't know how it is compared to others.

      @@vinny5915 ah man, looks like IS not great :( I wonder how just T0 would do with the dock and other toolheads not installed? In my ideal would I world really want to be able to maintain 7-10k accels for my regular ABS prints. 2k would be sufficient for the mutimaterial prints

      @efboiz5302 It can be configured to do so.
      Basically, the plugin gives you the ability to set a section of your printer.cfg to be swapped in-and-out.

    I'm looking at multi toolhead options right now for my 2.4. This looks like a great solution! Looking though the macros, are you using includes to enable or disable a printhead to keep klipper from have a panic when you remove one?

    • @vinny5915
      @vinny5915  7 місяців тому

      Yes, But also, I am using a macro called `[gcode_shell_command]`, which is an extension that can be installed with KIAUH, to swap in and out the printer.cfg. It just got finished today, and I just pushed it out as of this comment.

    So whats the benefit of this over stealthchsnger? Everything ive seen/read indicates Stealth Changer is better. More tollheads, better IS, more compact design/less bulky, more successful users, better documentstion, etc. Like i get wanting to develope an alternative, but whats the point if its the reheaded stepchild of stealthchanger?

    • @vinny5915
      @vinny5915  3 місяці тому

      Performance-wise, if those are the criteria that you are looking for then just go for SC. It is a very cool project. I would in fact recommend it over MC, due to the fact there is a team behind instead of a single person.
      MC (as a project) is more focus on reliability. It retains the Voron-Tap MGN9H rail for probe accuracy. This is a design trade-off, worse IS but better first layer reliability. And, from my experience with multi-material so far, it is too early to try going faster regardless of whatever system you are on.
      MC is also designed around the workflow of upgrading an existing printer, using parts printed on that same printer, with rooms for errors and chances to reverse course if needed. Even after completion, you can still switch back to a single toolhead setup in less than a minute and without any tool.
